Elnara laughed softly. "Then we should give your assistants a special gift sometime, hm?" she smiled, poking his cheek playfully. "For helping in bringing us together, and for taking such wonderful care of Skye."

They did so much for Skye, and she had never really thanked them for it ... she just hoped they weren't feeling too out of place here.

Had that much time really passed? Yukito tried to imagine it, having so many years like that pass by so quickly. He couldn't though, after all it had been only over a year, not even two years yet. Though it also made Yuki realize how fast elves matured compared to adults. At least from his understanding.

"Has it been that long now," Yuki replied, "That is certainly a long while ago, I hadn't realized you were so young. You were always around in the labyrinth, especially with Nina...."

"Nina though loves children, that shouldn't have been much of a surprise," Yue murmured, "She's here too, but she's probably taking a nap somewhere."

Probably in the hallway too no doubt, which was something Nina was comfortable enough doing.

"What is a fourty four year old supposed to act like?" Lin suddenly inquired without even thinking about it.

Naturally she would assume being mature, but to her Earendil was mature, he always had been. Sure he was fun, but he was mature to.

Earendil shifted uncomfortably. "Nina?" he repeated sheepishly. He laughed softly. "I'm afraid I don't remember her either ..."

He grinned at Lin. "Well, how old is your father?" he asked her softly. "In his twenties, I hear ... so I'm about twice his age then, or nearly, so really I should be acting like him ... or like my uncle Elrohir ... I won't say my father, he's quite ... childish. Or even Sir Valdemar, I should be studious and serious like him."

Sir Valdemar chuckled. "Lord Earendil, I do not believe I would recognize you if you were to act as scholarly as you seem to think you ought to. On the other hand, I do agree that you do not have the decorum that you ought - it seems that Lady Tinuviel has gotten all the sense that you lack."

He paused a moment, then grinned. "Not a bad thing, considering she is to be our next queen."

Earendil laughed heartily, then looked over at Yue and Yukito. "Do you know my sister, too, then?" he asked them. "Since I was only an infant when you came ..."

Lore chuckled at that, "I agree."

It had not occured to him that they might be taking a tour of the castle or spending time with Skye, but it suddenly made better sense.

"Don't be suprised if those three find a good empty room to dance in."

Elnara giggled. "No, I wouldn't be," she assured him. "Skye probably knows the best places, too ... where they wouldn't be disturbed, but can enjoy themselves and yet not be forgotten for meals and the like."

She paused.

"Speaking of which," she murmured, "I'm sure the construction on the north wing must be finished by now ..."

"Want to see how it turned out?" Lore guessed, figuring that is what Elnara wanted.

He thought that was a good idea, it had been a while since they last seen the castle. Lore didn't know what was supposed be in the north wing.

"What is the north wing for?"

Elnara smiled thoughtfully.

"I think so," she murmured softly. "But not right now. We have lots of time here ... we can explore it any time we want to."

She looked up at him and started walking again, linking her arm with his as they walked through the roses.

"I don't know what it's for," she admitted to him. "I don't remember the old castle at all, though I'm told it was quite different, and this one ... well, I've never seen all of it. Even when I lived here ... I never saw all of it, even the areas that were finished with the construction."
