Quote: ...or in the case of Fred and George Weasley, trying to find out what would happen if you fed a Filibuster Firework to a Salamander. Fred had 'rescued' the...lizard from a Care of Magical Creatures class and it was now smouldering gently on a table...when the Salamander suddenly whizzed into the air, emitting loud sparks and bangs as it whirled wildly round the room...the spectacular display of tangerine stars showering from the Salamander's mouth, and its escape into the fire, with acompanying explosions...

Book 6, Chapter 3 "Will and Won't" At the Dursley's Quote: 'Madam Rosmerta's finest oak-matured mead'... The Dursleys, after quick, scared looks at one another, tried to ignore their glasses completely, a difficult feat, as they were nudging them gently in on the sides of their heads. Harry could not suppress a suspicion that Dumbledore was rather enjoying himself. ... The glass of mead was now knocking quite insistantly on the side of Vernon's head; he attempted to beat it away. ... 'Well,' Said Dumbledore, ignoring the mutterings of uncle Vernon, who was now being rapped smartly over the head by the persistant glass of mead. ... [Dumbledore] placed his empty glass on a small table besides his chair, but before he could do anything else, Uncle Vernon shouted, 'Will you get these rudy things off us?'
Harry looked around; all three of the Dursleys were now cowering with their arms over their heads as their glasses bounced up and down on their skulls, their contents flying everywhere.
'Oh, I'm sorry," said Dumbledore politely, and he raised his wand again. All three glasses vanished. 'But it would have been better manners to drink it, you know.' (I was rolling thoughout this entire chapter...I still do)

Book 3, Chapter 11 (The Firebolt) *Hagrid has just found out the Buckbeak is going to have to go to trial and could be exicuted. So he's bawling like giant baby (hehe, literally) and Harry and Hermione have both tried to cheer him up.* Quote: Hagrid howled more loudly. Harry and Hermione looked at Ron to help them. "Er--shall I make a cup of tea?" said Ron. Harry stared at him. "It's what my mum does whenever someone's upset," Ron muttered, shrugging. At last, after many more assurances of help, with a steaming mug of tea in front of him, Hagrid blew his nose on a hankerchief the size of a tablecloth and said, "Yer right. I can' afford to go ter pieces. Gotta pull meself together...."

If you want to know what a man's like, take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals. ~J.K. Rowling, "Padfoot Returns," Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, 2000, spoken by the character Sirius Black

HBP: The Lightning Struck Tower Malfoy stared at Dumbledore.
"But I got this far, didn't I?" he said slowly. "They thought I'd die in the attempt, but I'm here...and you're in my power...I'm the one with the wand...You're at my mercy..."
"No, Draco, said Dumbledore quietly. "It is my mercy, and not yours, that matters now."
Malfoy didnot speak. His mouth was open, his wand hand still trembling. Harry thought he saw it drop by a fraction--

OotP: The Lion and the Serpent "Okay, I've only just found out the final lineup for Slytherin," said Angelina, consulting a piece of parchment. "Last year's beaters, Derrick and Bole, have left now, but it looks as though Montague's replaced them with the usual gorillas, rather than anyone who can fly particularly well. They're two blokes called Crabbe and Goyle, I don't know much about them--" "We do," said Harry and Ron together. "Well, they don't look bright enough to tell one end of a broom from another," said Angelina, pocketing her parchment, "but then I was always surprised Derrick and Bole managed to find their way onto the pitch without signposts." "Crabbe and Goyle are in the same mold," Harry assured her. xd

"Did you like question ten Moony?" asked Sirius as they emerged into the entrance hall.
"Loved it," said Lupin briskly. "'Give the five signs that identify the werewolf.' Excellent question."
"D'you think you managed to get all the signs?" said James in tones of mock concern.
"Think I did," said Lupin seriously." ..."One: He's sitting in my chair. Two: He's wearing my clothes. Three: His name's Remus Lupin..."
