Zoe shook her head. "Not many people knew things about me. You're not the only one." She turned the sink on as she heard the shower stop and rinsed the dishes in the sink. "I don't know..." she muttered and looked over the counter to him. "There were a lot of things I wanted to do. One of them was college, then there was traveling the world, writing a book...writing more than one book." Laughing she put the dishes on the drying rack and pursed her lips. "It's...complicated..."
At Terry's arrival she seemed relived. It gave her the excuse to change subject. She raised an eyebrow and looked to his abdomen. "Nice board there." Then she thought about his question and walked back into the living room. "I think. Sometimes George stays over here and he usually brings clothes, which he ends up leaving. The man has tons of clothes." She smiled sweetly and trotted into her room, coming back with baggy shorts, a green top with the number 1 on it, and some boxers.
"Don't worry, they're all cleaned." George was about the same size as Terry, just a bit more built. Still they'd fit, better than her clothes anyways. "Just make sure not to stain them or anything. He's like a girl in that manner..." Laughing she handed Terry the clothes. "After you get done we should see Stan, I don't want to get there too late...I'm sure he's very lonely without people he knows. At that said she grabbed some clothes of her own that were neatly folded on the back of the couch and walked into her room to change.
((Oh god...I'm like...light headed off this medicine. *wobbles and goes to sleep on the couch*.))

((haha I have NO bleeding idea what to write...))
At Icarus' response to his words, Terry simply gave him a mocking sort of smile and said, "Glad to help ya out, buddy."
He then looked over towards Zoe, who was at the sink, washing dishes. He frowned at her comment about his stomach (He was NOT getting fat! NOT GETTING A BELLY!) but didn't say anything. Not when Icarus was on his painkillers. He was quite sure his friend would do the sayings for him.
Thankfully, Zoe didn't poke fun, and instead was helpful. She produced a set of clothes Terry would never have picked at a store, but they DID look like they'd fit. Nodding, he snatched the clothes from Zoe's hands and moved back towards the bathroom to change. "I can't promise anything, but I'll try," he said from behind the door.
Terry shortly returned, looking more like a jock than he had in a long, long time. Though, the green was a good color ((haha what? I dunno. I'm tired D: )). In any case, he plopped down on the couch and glanced over at Icarus, then Zoe when she came back. "Well, let's go see Stan, and maybe grab some lunch... Then we'll figure SOMETHING to do, right?"
((that post was SO USELESS. I'm sorry. D: BUT ITS THERE. And we should plot things. mmmmhmmm.))

((WHEEE... Busy, busy, busy. So busy...)))
Icarus flashed Terry a smile and the sniggered at Zoe's remark, however, for once he kept any comments he might have had to himself. He wondered vaguely what the fuss was about getting into a fresh pair of clothes. He frowned down at himself and gave himself the sniff check.
He paused, looked thoughtful, and then shrugged. He wasn't unbearable.
When Terry returned Icarus wrinkled his nose at him. He was smirking. "Baby, oh baby." Was his only comment, but then again: "I've never seen you look so manly and so gay at the same time."
Icarus was NEVER limited to just one comment.
Grinning the lanky blonde heaved himself up into his crutches and made his way to the door. "Onward and forward then! To STAN! And food... maybe we get something nice for Stan?"
And so making their way into town they stopped by quickly for a bite to eat, Icarus whining that eating and walking was INCREDIBLY difficult for a man manning his crutches and convinced Terry... and he had to be INCREDIBLY convincing, to feed him as they walked and crutched their way to the vet. Icarus decidedly bought a good piece of lunch meat for Stan and once at the vet's office collapsed into a waiting room chair and threw his crutches at the ground.
"DAAAMN YOU." He exclaimed condemning it and all its relative to hell. "I want to WALK."

((Lalala... something needs to happen. I just can't THINK of anything at the moment. D: ))
So, getting over the fact he was wearing a glaringly large number "1" on his shirt, Terry followed after Icarus and Zoe towards the outside world. They did stop for a bite of real food to eat, and SOMEHOW - Terry still wasn't sure how it happened - he ended up paying for it, AND hand-feeding Icarus as they made their way to the vet.
He'd have to stop and contemplate that a bit later.
Because right now, he was very much at the vet's office, sitting in the waiting room, listening to Icarus complain about his crutches. "Better your foot than your face, Icarus. Be grateful, ya know?" He scratched idly at his chin as he peered around the vet's office, making a bit of a face at a picture of a Chihuahua with a pink-tinted plastic cone around its neck, and written by it a bad pun about a martini.
That, and he was trying to ignore the woman sitting not too far off, whose dog kept throwing up.
Quite decidedly, vet hospitals were much worse than human hospitals. He'd even be willing to face Avalon again to get out of this place.
"Let's see Stan and get the hell out of here," He murmured, half-wincing at the barfing dog again. "And I'll bet he smells like hospital and animal s**t. I'll bet you anything he will."
Obviously, he didn't much care for being here at the moment.

((Sorry...for the wait. I dunno...I just didn't feel like posting. Hahaha. DON'T ask. D: ))
Zoe sat down in one of the chairs beside Icarus and twiddled her thumbs. As much as she hated the smell of animal puke and hair balls she'd much rather be here than in a human hospital. Her turquoise eyes flickered around impatiently and she began to tap the floor with a shoe. She could feel her nerves winding up again. Although she had slept like a dead person, she still had that anxiety that settled in the pit of her stomach and wound around her until she was ready to freak. Hospitals made it no better.
"Miss Menoir?" Came a sheepish voice of one of the assistants. Zoe looked up from her lap and nodded quickly, shooting up into a stand and twitching her fingers.
"Yes." Zoe replied and the assistant waved her to come into the area where the rooms were. Glancing back at Icarus and Terry she smiled weakly. "I guess they're ready." She muttered and walked briskly over to the doors. The older lady smiled and showed her the way to a room after allowing Terry to get one of the doors to hold open for Icarus. "Is Stanly alright?" She finally asked when they entered a small room with a metal table for the patients. Why they didn't make it comfortable for the animals was beyond her.
"Mr. Jevinson will be with you in a moment. Please wait here." The lady said politely and walked out with a clipboard. Zoe sighed in frustration and walked over to the counter, hands picking up things and examining them.
"They always make you wait for a god damn 30 minutes. When I come where for check ups for Stan they always do-" She was going to continue her rant before a professional looking man walked with with a calm smile and held out his hand to Zoe. She took it and shook it strongly before getting out of his way. "Is Stanly alright?" She asked again.
"Fine. He's fine, Ms. Menoir."
"Zoe, please."
"Zoe...he's going to need to take some medicine with every feeding for a week or so. After a couple of weeks we need to make another appointment to check on him to make sure his recovery is going well. He also will have to stay home for the first week and not walk too far. He may get wobbly." Well he definitely got right to the point. Zoe though and frowned, her eyes screwing to the door to the back where Stan would come through soon. "Now do you have any questions?" The man glanced over to the two men curiously then back to Zoe.
"Yeah."
"Hm?"
"Where is he?"
"There he is now." He said with a slow smile just as a young woman in scrubs walked in, gingerly guiding a sleepy looking Stan. Zoe's eyes widened and she grinned intensely. "Go slow with him."
"Stanly!" Zoe exclaimed happily and when Stan saw her he opened his mouth and his tail began to wag. "Oh boy! I missed you so much! You don't even know. Every second I was worrying about you and and I'm just so glad your alright." She rubbed at her eyes and knelt down by the large dog, wrapping her arms around his neck and burying her face into his fur. She looked up at the vet and smiled appreciatively. "Thank you. Really. He's everything to me. You pretty much saved ME by saving him."
"It's really fine. It seems to me he has a wonderful owner to take care of him." The man smiled and went to the counter as he began to scribble some things on a piece of paper. Zoe turned to Terry and Icarus with a smile and Stan walked over to them, pushing his nose against Icarus first and wagging his tail.
"They came to see you too. Just for you." Zoe said and straightened up.

((OMG MY TURN... uuuuh... I wanna go outside...))
Icarus gave Terry a look. "Don't even joke about my face. You'll jinx it and next thing you know I'll look like that." And he pointed at "that", which happened to be the rear end of the vomiting dog. "Hairy, disfigured... and apparently vomiting out my other end...?" He paused and looked thoughtful. He wondered what it was he trying to say right there.
He'd probably never know.
At Terry's remark Icarus shrugged and was more than pleased to be led into the back to see Stan. He hobbled on a long like the cripple he was to see Stan and was quite pleased to see him when Zoe was done reuniting with her beloved friend.
Icarus struggled to kneel and after a bit of cussing at his left foot managed to set himself on the ground and give Stan a good rub around his ears and face.
"Yeah! You're a real badass now, Stan. Seriously. We should start feeding you frickin' NAILS for breakfast. You'd be the toughest dog on the block... cats would piss themselves in fear of your name and dobermans and pitt bulls would retreat into their dog houses." Icarus laughed and patted him on his side. "You got any scars?" He wondered and then ventured a look at the vet.
He grinned and looked to Zoe. "Most badass dog ever." He repeated.

((WE NEED TO GET THINGS MOVING. CRAP POST TO GET THINGS MOVING GOOOOOOOOOOO.))
Terry sort of stayed out of most of what was going on. Sure, Stan was cool, but that didn't change the fact that he didn't like dogs, and he especially didn't like dogs that are vomiting all over the place, and being compared to shot up faces. At least it wasn't HIS face being compared. "That'd be an improvement, Icarus. You're already halfway there with that mess on your head you call hair."
Giving Stan a little pat on the head, he patiently waited for the visit to be over, hoping that Zoe wouldn't pick up on it. It wasn't that he didn't care... He just... Didn't really care. All the dogs he'd come in contact with were hardly playful - military dogs sent out to help with the current fight. Not much time for play when they were sniffing out badly made bombs.
So, after a while of sitting with the dog and all of that fun stuff, Terry was finally getting to the point where he wanted to leave. Stan needed his rest anyway, and... Oh s**t. "Icarus, we're late for your appointment at the hospital." He felt like someone's mom urging the kid to make it to the bus on time. "You know, check up on your foot and all that. We should get going." He raised an eyebrow at Icarus, then looked towards Zoe. "Did you want to stay here with Stan, or are you tagging along?" He didn't know why she'd go, but felt bad not asking... Then again, he had picked up on just how much she hated the hospital...
Looking towards Icarus, he gave his friend a questioning look and threw a thumb at the door. "Shall we?"

Zoe ran a hand through her short blonde hair as the doctor finished signing his name on a slip and looked over at her.
"This is for the pills that he needs." The vet handed her the prescription and walked back towards the door, opening it for them. "If you just drop by the front desk you can schedule an appointment for his check up." He gave Zoe a smile as she took Stan's leash in her hand and walked out of the room, after letting Icarus out first.
At Terry's offer her face screwed up and a flash of anxiety streaked across her face. "Er...um..." She paused in the hall and looked over at Icarus. It wasn't that she didn't want to be with them longer...but going to the HOSPITAL. It wasn't her cup of tea. She'd had gone when she was completely worried about his health. But for a check up...she'd rather be good away from the place. "Sorry...but I think I'll pass. I mean...I'd love to hang out for a while more, just no at THAT place." She murmured and twitched her fingers a bit before walked to the counter and looking at the bill. She frowned harder and sighed heavily. "Stan...this better be worth it." She said and fished in her jeans pocket for her credit card. She handed it to the woman behind the front desk and let her scribble down numbers or whatever it was they did with the card.
Stan sat patiently, nose twitching at all the new dog and cat smells. His brown eyes looked over at Terry and Icarus for a while, tail wagging happily. The lady gave Zoe another sheet of paper and Zoe took a pen, signing her name in a neat and nearly perfect cursive signature. After all was done she walked out with the two men and breathed in deeply, the fresh air inviting to her lungs. Stan too seemed pleased as she wiggled his bottom with his tail and barked quickly, tugging a bit to go walking.
"I'd give you my phone number, but I don't have a cell phone." She said slowly and half closed her eyes in thought. "I'll give you some phone numbers though that you should be able to reach me at." With a smile she took out a pad from her pocket and scribbled down some numbers, one being her home phone, the other her work number, the last one was George's cell phone. "I'd try the work phone first. Then my home. George last. But if I'm not anywhere, I'm with him." She gave it to Terry, seeing as Icarus would not be willing to hold paper AND crutches at the same time.
"Good Luck. Try not to hurt that foot anymore, you'd be crippled for life. And you can't be a bounty hunter like that." She raised a brow and smirked. "Call me okay guys? If you don't, I'll hunt you down. Or Stan will, he loves you guys." She motioned to Stan who was by Icarus's legs, wagging his tail and looking quite content where he was. "C'mon big guy. We gotta get your medicine." She tugged his leash and he trotted over to her. "Buy you two! Thanks again! I still owe you!" She waved a hand as she jog down the street, Stan trotting along side her, if but a bit wobbly.
((Haha...I figured she'd not enjoy going to the hospital again. XD Woooo. You guys do what you WISH now! ))

((OKAY. Onward and forward and what all else... I promised Ala a beautifully long post at one point... so that's what I'll be doing here... or at least... attempting.))
Icarus, unlike Terry, quite enjoyed seeing Stan again. He caught himself doing the annoying baby talk owners from time to time would use shamelessly in the privacy of their homes, or just shamelessly in general so that most people would feel so embarrassed for them they had to look away. Catching himself doing this humiliating number he apologized to the large German Shepherd and patted him soundly on the side once more before struggling to his feet.
"Sorry there, Stan. You're better than that. I have NO BLEEDING idea what possessed me to take that tone of voice with you." He laughed. "It won't happen again."
Icarus then struggled out the door in his crutches and was met by a furiously smoldering tiny terrier with a prim, pink bow in its fur. It was yipping ferociously as it could, or in other words, it was being incredibly annoying. Icarus shouted at the little yipping terrier to shut the hell up... And then the woman holding the dog's leash was yelling at him to never speak to Princess Noodles that way and then the dog was barking at both of them because obviously the answer for the tiny beast was to be more annoying than previous, and Icarus was getting more irritated and shouting louder... and then they kindly asked Icarus to remove himself from the vicinity and to PLEASE stop shouting the word "********" so loud.
Icarus gave them the bird as he ambled out the door and said "******** Noodles yipped and snarled after his heels.
((... WHAT?))
When Terry and Zoe met back outside with them Icarus visibly sank. "Hospital?" He sighed, but then grinned. "Or maybe not so bad." He said slyly. His smile angled up.
As numbers were given Icarus insisted she have his too. Of course, he didn't readily know it off the top of his head and struggled for a moment to remember, but she was already off and gone. He frowned after her.
"Why the hell does everyone act like I'm so irresponsible I can't take care of my own damned foot?" He questioned, looking honestly curious. Then he laughed. "To the hospital!" And he led the way as best as a man with crutches could.
Once the duo was in the large white building with sterile hall after sterile hall, they attempted to find their way to the place they needed to be... which of course was then impossible to find. Struggling over key coloured maps by elevators and asking those who wandered the halls only got them more lost than before. Icarus found himself thinking of an airport.
Airports made him stressed.
Stress made him want to smoke.
You can't smoke in a hospital.
Obviously, this was already a bad situation. However, a familiar face appeared to them in a sea of scrubs and white lab coats. It too also had a lab coat, but it also had long black hair, brown skin, and a cool look.
"KAREN! Thank god. I thought... I thought I was going to DIE." Icarus exclaimed and feigned to be out of breath. He grasped the front of her coat like a desperate man.
Karen raised an eyebrow at him and angled her mouth into a frown. He remained at her collar making that same comical expression. Eventually, her poker face cracked and she laughed into her hand. "Good frickin' GRIEF, Icarus." She said and batted him away. "Get the hell off-WHAT DID YOU DO?"
Icarus backed up a few steps. He found it incredibly awkward to do so with crutches. "What?"
Karen looked him up and down and then looked to Terry. "What did he DO to himself?"
Icarus frowned. "Doesn't matter... we're looking for uuuh... a nurse? Avalon? Have you heard of her?"
The young Indian woman turned her head at Icarus quickly and eyed him suspiciously. "Who?"
"Avalon. We have business."
She smiled very slowly. "OH. You." She rolled her eyes. "Come with me... Terry... I thought you said you were going to take CARE of this b*****d."
((... uuuh... I'll make things happen soon.. ahahha, nevermind... I forgot I need to do these things first... lalalala. IT'S STILL LONG. Because of Princess Noodles... wtf?))

((.....D: ))
Terry pocketed Zoe's numbers, giving her a nod and a bit of a smile, glad that they were out of the vet's place, and not so glad really that Stan had taken to sitting on his foot. Not that it was too horrid, but still. Dog butt. Better than Princess Noodles.
So, Zoe gone (he'd wondered why she was so hesitant, but didn't push it), he and Icarus made their way to the hospital, only to get particularly lost, and rather grouchy. Icarus wasn't the only one who wanted to smoke, and a little alcohol wouldn't have hurt either.
Thankfully, they ran into Karen, and once Icarus had latched himself onto her, Terry gave a smile. "Got shot in the foot. Funny story actually... Bled all over the guy who did it. He's probably spreading AIDS or some s**t." He gave a shrug, nodding at the inquiry of Avalon.
As they were led to wherever the elusive nurse was hiding, Terry shuffled to walk next to Karen (whom he was quite sure was moving just too fast for Icarus to keep up without being uncomfortable). "I took care of him as best as I could. At least I took the moron out before he could do any REAL damage," the dark haired man said quietly, rubbing at the back of his neck. "Better a foot out of commission for a while than two of your old friends, right?" He offered up a crooked smile before managing to nearly entangle himself with a cart that held a number of medical instruments.
Apologizing to the person pushing it, he righted himself and ran a hand through his hair, shuffling into the room they'd been led to. Taking a seat in one of the waiting chairs, he gestured for Icarus to sit on the bed and wait.
Not too long after, a rather familiar face peeked into the room, and with a quirked brow, she said, "Well, imagine that. I hadn't expected you to show up at all. And you haven't broken down and gotten a wheelchair. Such a MANLY man, aren't you Icarus?"

((Eruuuushhhahhh. Anyway. *posts before she has to get off to work* BUT I DON'T DO SALAD BAR TODAY. FRICKIN'. YES.
Thank gooood... hahahaaaaa.))
Karen titled her head at Terry. "As best you could?" She echoed. Her full lips quirked into a sarcastic smile, though it was good natured. "Apparently, not only did he get shot in the foot but NOW he has AIDS?"
"Insert gay joke." Icarus panted from a few steps behind and then said something about slowing down please.
Karen just laughed and then laughed more as Terry pulled a rather clumsy maneuver involving a medical cart and his feet. She caught him by his elbow to help right him and patted him on the shoulder. "You're cute, Terry. I'll let this slide... just no more unwanted holes in Icarus, alright? I hired you to take CARE of Icarus... Not to get him in worse trouble. I'm amazed he hasn't died without a partner."
"Yeah." Icarus gasped from behind as they entered the examining room. "Me... too... What the HELL, Karen?" He stammered as he collapsed onto the table. "You're wearing me out. Crutches are hard on a person!"
The young Indian woman just chuckled to herself and put a hand to her hip. "Yeah? Well, just don't get shot in the foot anymore and then MAYBE you can keep up with me."
"Hate you." He grinned.
"Love you." She said mockingly.
And they might have gone onto bicker as they often did, but Avalon's face was in the door. Icarus flashed her a smile. "I'm full of surprises!" He said. "And I am rather manly... no arguments there... do I need to turn my head and cough?" He wanted to know, eyes flashing as he joked.
Karen rolled her eyes. "Is this the guy you were talking about, Avalon? If you had said something I could have gotten him off your back a LOT sooner." She gave Icarus a devious look.
Icarus returned her look with an eyebrow waggle. "I'm not easily deterred, Karen." He then looked to Avalon. "And I had a question."
((okay... after you post, Ala, then I can probably get things happening in the next post and... yes... OKAY. *nods her head and goes to make herself some lunch*))

((UHGUH. *posts before she leaves for Cali D:*))
"Well, at least he's not DEAD," Terry offered to Karen, trying to avoid rubbing at his shin. He'd thwacked it rather hard against that cart. "And who said you hired me for anything? Last I checked..." but he trailed off when Avalon poked her head into the room. Better she not catch any conversation than the tail end of something that might have sounded rather bad.
Avalon though, wasn't really paying attention to conversations that weren't her business. No, she was already trying to get Icarus to hold still long enough to get a good look at his foot.
When she was addressed, however, she turned to look over her shoulder at Karen and grinned. "Yep, this is the guy. And ya know, I can handle it myself, dear. Just go back to the lab why don't you? I'm sure there are some rather unhappy cells that need curing or something." Of course, she meant it all in good humor. Karen would know.
Terry was busy trying to get a good look at Icarus' foot without Avalon pushing him away.
"Question? Well, I have an answer. Actually I have a LOT of answers, but that doesn't mean I'll be able to help you. What's up, Icarus?" She asked brightly, lightly examining the wound on Icarus foot, periodically marking down this and that on the chart she'd brought in.
((Haha poor Terry got like, no love. XD;; ))

((OKAY. HERE WE GO. *types*))
Icarus laughed a little at Avalon's all business attitude. He made his foot more accessible, but always was rather bad at holding still. As he talked he gestured with his hands and seemed to throw the rest of his body into these actions as he did so.
"YEAH, Karen. Go back to your LAB." Icarus smirked.
Karen gave him a look and then flicked her hair over her shoulder. "Yeah? Alright, Icarus... Let's just remember which one of us has the leverage here." She said in a dark voice and then chuckled. "Then again... Avalon is the one with your foot in her hand... I would suggest behaving. She's a real b***h." And she laughed. Then with a slender hand she gripped Terry by his shoulder and pulled him back. "Just WHAT are you trying to see, Terry? RELAX."
Icarus might have looked concerned for maybe a moment about the fact Avalon DID have his very VERY tender foot in her hand, but quickly seemed to get over it. He had had this thought as he spoke with Terry this morning, and still thought of it as a good idea even now... especially now.
"Alright. Here's the deal... if you're willing to take it. I've been a bounty hunter for at least seven or so years now... I got a lot of holes. Terry is covering me for awhile. He will probably get a lot of holes too. We need to get those holes plugged from time to time. What would you say if I asked you to lend your skills? You're quick, don't take s**t, and don't get paid s**t." His eyes flashed as he talked, he might have flinched a little as she gripped his foot a little too hard. "We'll pay you 20% of any cut we get... Just some extra cash in your pocket. I know you need it and we'll need you... Terry's a good friend, I don't want him dying on me."
He paused and tried to catch her eyes. "What do you say?"
And whatever her answer might have been would have to wait. Icarus suddenly noticed a figure in the door. It was a younger man with a face that might have been attractive if his expression didn't seem so cold and empty. There was a soft halo of blonde hair around his head and a set of dark eyes that contrasted starkly with his fair skin; black and deep. He looked like a cruel angel that stumbled into a sweater and frayed corduroys and found himself here at this examining room. His eyes were on Icarus.
"Seth." Icarus said with a tilt of his head and a quirk in his mouth that might have been a grin.
"Your shop. It's on fire."
"Excuse me?" The lanky blonde wanted to know.
Seth's dark eyes flickered. He might have looked annoyed. "Your shop. On fire." The young man repeated.
Karen glanced between the two men and then frowned at Icarus. "Your shops on fire?"
The dark eyed angel cast a look at Karen and his expression flickered.
Icarus's eye gave a slight twitch and he jumped to his feet.
And then he was hopping around on his good foot and shouting all sorts of foul words.
"MY SHOP'S ON FIRE!" Icarus reiterated.
((HIS SHOP IS ON FIRE?!... WHAT?!... haahah, yeah. Um... there's a reason... the whole shop on fire thing is cliche, so sue me. LOLZ LOLZ LOLZ. And Seth is going to make things... er... interesting... *laughs* YAY. and what not... hopefully you can find a way to get back into things, J... or we will find a way D:< BUT IT WILL HAPPEN.))

Terry decidedly didn't comment on either of the women, and instead busied himself with pouting at Karen's pushing him back. "I'm trying to see what she's doing," He said, as if it were an obvious thing. "It can't hurt to learn a few ways of patching something up, right?" Maybe.
When Icarus explained what his thoughts were, Terry didn't much like hearing them. He'd managed to stay mostly hole-free in his time in the military (he had a few scars here and there, one on his face from a bit if shrapnel), and wasn't planning on getting shot up in his own country, and by idiots who thought they could handle guns either.
However, if a nurse were around for immediate help... He looked towards Avalon, wondering what she'd say.
The woman seemed to take Icarus' words in stride. She hardly looked up from what she was doing, but seemed to ponder the inquiry. She wasn't getting paid s**t, but it was pretty close. And a bit of work on the side never hurt... Especially if it was with these two rather amusing guys. "I'd not assume, Icarus dear, that I'm hard up for cash." She started, but paused when someone else showed up in the doorway.
Immediately, he set Terry on edge. This guy looked like he meant business, and the cold tone he used was to say the least, unsettling. So was his announcement. "What the hell?" was his very clever verbal comment on the matter.
Avalon, however, was getting irritated. Icarus was now hopping around like a lame monkey, and Terry was obviously on edge. So, with an aggravated sigh, she put her finger and thumb in her mouth and gave a loud, sharp whistle. Simultaneously, she hooked Icarus by the back of his shirt and sternly ushered him back to the bed. "You, sit your a** down. YOU," she pointed to Seth, "Is that all you need to tell him? Because I was obviously in the middle of something here, and you're interrupting. I'll assume you've called the fire department, and if not, you're a moron for coming here to announce that to him now. He obviously can't do anything about it. So, now that he knows, you will take your leave. Thanks" She gave him a smile as cold as his words had been and turned back to finish Icarus' foot.
Terry, meanwhile, remained in his chair and said nothing, wondering when it was he became such a wuss. He blamed it on the current weather, and not his real personality. Yeah.
