Junimaia --Lesson 7-- Trying New Foods
As a prestigious wizarding school, Hogwarts is known for broadening students' horizons in more ways than one. And food can be included in this if you can think of good ways to do it. For homework during the last lesson, I told you to observe eating habits in the Great Hall. From your observations I found that students have eaten the following:
Pot Roast Dinner Rolls French Toast Orange Juice Sausage Bananas Turkey Stuffing Potatoes Pumpkin Juice Chicken Turkey Legs Roasted Pig Ears Marshmallows Salmon & Chicken Pastries Chocolate Pudding
After seeing this list, what are your thoughts on it? Kisaki thinks there should be more fresh fruits and vegetables served. Sometimes a nice juicy apple can be really filling and refreshing at the same time. But maybe fresh fruits and vegetables can be used in more unique dishes to help broaden the horizons of students at Hogwarts. Like maybe there could be more dishes based off of Asian cooking that include fresh fruit and vegetables. Kisaki thinks that will let the students experience tastes of different countries while still getting the nutrition they need.

I noticed that there are more dinner items than breakfast, however, there are more breakfast items than lunch. So on a scale of how many people ate, one could guess: Breakfast: More Lunch: Few Dinner: Many
I also notice that most people eat main coarse foods, instead of appetizers or desert foods. So if I was cooking, I'd make more of that than desert or appetizers, since they like that more.

After seeing this list, what are your thoughts on it? I personally think that the young masters are malnourished. They need more Fruits and Vegetables. I think we should add more nutritious food to the menu. I will start by making spinach salads and white corn. Also Im glad the students are drinking healthy drinks such as pumpkin and orange juice. I would also add grape juice, as it has so many anti oxidants. Finally I think that the food the children eat are not too bad, it could be worse, but we must keep the young masters fit.

Sorry for the delay with homework. Things got freakishly busy for me when summer started o_o'
Anyway, here's your homework, house elves:
--Lesson 7 Homework--
Introduce one new food dish of your choice to this Summer's start of term feast (you can role-play placing it in the great hall, but remember that you're a house elf, don't disrupt the school festivites, just sneak the dish in there). Then monitor the student's reactions to see how they react to your dish.
Send me a PM with a link to your post as well as student reactions if any. Also tell me why you chose to introduce the dish that you did.

After seeing this list, what are your thoughts on it? Well my first thought is that Roasted Pig Ears and Salmon & Chicken Pastries are some weird things to eat. But I also notice that they are not eating many fruits and veggies. They also need more dairy foods. I do not think chocolate pudding will cut it. Lila also thinks they should be drinking water! All creatures, even house elfs need water to live.

The start of term feast is over now, which means, new lesson! However, I'll keep the homework for Lesson 7 open. So you can still do it. Just note that there's no longer a feast so don't go overboard with your ideas if you still want to do it. xp
--Lesson 8-- Intro to Cleaning
Last term was focused alot on food. So I'll shift gears for this term and focus on the other house elf staple: cleaning! ^_^
If you haven't figured it out already, Hogwarts is a MASSIVE castle full of all sorts of nooks and crannies to keep cleaned. But you don't have to fret over every single portion. As Hogwarts house elf, you only need to worry about keeping clean the places that students and faculty regularly travel through. This includes places like the great hall, house common rooms, class hallways, lavatories, etc. Anywhere that doesn't fall under this category falls under low priority. Low priority areas should not be considered for clean up until all the higher priority areas are taken care of. Any questions?
--Homework (send in a PM)-- 1. Give me two examples of high priority cleanup areas that I haven't listed in the lesson. 2. What part of the castle do you think would be considered a low priority cleanup area?
