((Sorry, guys, I've been pretty busy lately. I've got my AP exams this week and senoir exams a week after that. T.T I hate tests!!!))

Cassi watched the entire scene in silence, more than amused at both Machi's and Lord Taite actions. It was not often in her Kingdom that she got to see such behavior, especially out of boys and grown men. Smiling slightly, she quickly disappeared around the corner, deciding that it would not be best to develop a reputation as an eavesdropper. Walking forward to what she assumed was her room, Cassi hesitated a moment at the sound of someone moving around inside. She had never really been good at making friends, even if the other person was a girl, mainly because of the strict home she came from. Cassi wondered if maybe she should request to leave, to be put back in a carriage and sent back home. But the idea of going back to that unbearable place, that hell whole of a Castle, made her shudder in hate and fear. Her mind made up, she pushed the door open slowly and walked inside. The sight of the long blond hair and the white dress made her grimace, but she hid that quickly before the other girl turned around. Typical princess...she thought, keeping her face carefully blank, probably rasied on flowers and candy, thinking everyone in the world is there to help her.

She forced a small smile on her face and walked slowly over to the window, before turning to face the other princess again. "What's you're name?"

Lady Anita glanced at the path in front of her, making sure that no one was there. It wasn't so much that she would get in trouble for being where she was as that it would just be really embarrasing and kind of hard to explain. Sighing, a look of hesitating crossed her features and she looked again at where her path led. The building wasn't large at all, but it was not small either. The two huge doors stood open and the smell of hay and horses slowly began to filter into her nose. Just that tiny smell made her hesitate again. Honestly Anita did not remember why she was so afraid of horses, but she knew that one day she would eventually like to ride one, even if it was double sadle and a harness to keep her from falling. With a few more steps in silent contemplation, Lady Anita reached the stables. The path was more than familiar to her as she had traveled it often throughout the summer months, though not all the teachers knew.

She knew that if it was Lord Taite who ran the stables instead of Lord Lawley that he would very likely let it get to his head that she would come often to visit him, instead of her real reason, which was to try and get over her fear. As she entered, Anita was surprised to see a student standing next to a black mare, but she let it pass, unsure what Lawley would do in this situation. Curtsying slightly in greeting, she walked past him to a few stalls down and looked in at the tanish colored gelding that had one white spot just below his jaw. Reaching into her gown, she pulled out an apple she had smuggled from breakfast and held it out to Whiskey. Leaning on the gate, she smiled softly as the horses whiskers brushed agianst her palm and waited for Lord Lawley to come back. She wondered how he would react if she told him she wanted to learn how to ride.

Lord Canis stood in the ballroom, imagining the last major ball that he had been too. Silently he swayed to the music, easily imagining each note and key to the waltz. As always the movement came easy to him as he glided across the floor, his arms positioned as if he were holding a woman. Suddenly the sound of piano music reached him, though the noise was soft and he almost didn't catch it. Changing pace, he switched from a watlz to a gentle and slow movement. Instinctively Canis knew that it was Lady Josephine playing and he wondered why she never invited anyone to play with her to even just sit with her. He thought she was a wonderful lady to be around, her silence and gestures more than enough for him to understand.
PostPosted: Sun May 04, 2008 2:28 pm

Lady Josephine continued to play, unaware that Lord Canis was listening. Her head moved gently with each hand movement, and the tune came out smooth and unwavering. The music in front of her was no longer needed, and the Lady played only from memory. Her longer, red hair moved slightly with each head movement, an occassional strand falling in front of focused eyes. The Lady was oblvious to the fact that someone was actually listening.

Bella woke up in surprised a bit as she heard the door open. She saw that her room mate was here. To her, she seems like a pretty nice person as Bella soon heard her ask a question. Sitting up on her bed, she turned to the other princess with a sweet smile.

"Oh, hello...my name is Bella, it's nice to meet you" Bella said with a timid but cheerful voice. "Um..what is your name?" She also asked politely as she could. Bella is not that good at socializing, but she try too. All she was trained, but only in stuff that maids do, that is how cruel her step mother was, she had to learn on her own and worked hard, and she could not believe how her father could not see what evil things the stepmother does.

"Actually, it probably will be," Aaric said, with a small laugh. He hadn't caught the insult in Rylan's voice, assuming that he was just teasing. "So, are we still sneaking out tonight?" he asked, plopping himself down on the bed, feet dangling over the side. Aaric let out a long breath of air. Spending time with Coralie would be fun, and Rylan would probably have cooled down by then. And if it lasted until combat class the next day, at least Rylan would be more of a challenge to him. There was no way he could beat him without Aaric going easy on him or letting him win though, as he sometimes did. He lifted himself up onto his elbows to look at his twin and Coralie. "And if we are, what are we going to do? We should have a plan, aside from where to meet, that is."

"Third, if I remember correctly," Amira said, making her way up the stairs behind Grace. "I don't know which room though." She too had left her schedule back in her room. Gowns didn't have pockets, and Amira didn't feel like carrying around a map and schedule the entire day. Although, she would probably have to until she got the schedule in her head. "I wonder if she'll allow us to eat out there. She acts like she's kind of strict and a little scary," Amira worried allowed. Grace seemed much more outgoing and courageous to Amira than she herself was. She was glad that she was with her.

"Yes, you've said that," Lord Lawley said kindly to the translator. "Lady Florizel already informed us of how he's not quite up with the other students, but if she is willing to try, the rest of us are too." Lawley smiled, and then turned to Lord Taite. He was getting rather tired of all of this teacher business, and he wanted to get back to his horses... "If you'll excuse me," Lawley said. "I have somewhere else to be. Good day Fuego, Lord Taite." He turned on his heel and headed down the stairs, not sure what the other two would do. Lawley passed a few students on the way down, but none of them saw him. Eventually he was out on the grounds, making his way to the stables. The familiar scent of hay and horses came to him, making him feel suddenly much more relaxed. Lord Lawley pushed open the already slightly ajar doors of the stables and found that a student was already inside. As far as Lady Florizel had said, he thought it was allowed, so he passed by without saying anything. He was headed near the back of the stable when he spotted Lady Anita, feeding Whiskey part of an apple. "Lady Anita," he said, surprised to see her there, as she was usually very frightened of horses. "What brings you here?"

[[ Ah, sorry Bella! I didn't realize that I forgot to put a reply post. sweatdrop Sorry! ]]

Lukas had fallen silent as he watched the princess leave before him. 'Her name was Bella was it?' he thought to himself as he slightly gave a small shrug and leaned back against the tree. Her comment on him not being able to talk to girls was quite right, though it had never crossed his mind on speaking much to girls. He began dreading at the thought of the Charm class, how lame to have such a class to learn how to talk to the girls. My god, can't he find a way to get out of it? Possibly not.

Lukas shook his thoughts away as he gave a slight sigh and decided to go check his room out. Carrying his bags all day was beginning to get quite tiring. He began walking back towards the academy building as he noticed the spider girl was out in the gazebo. She seemed quite happy at the moment, perhaps they let her keep her pet? Lukas continued his way back into the building and walked up the stairs to his room. He didn't bother about the people who were around him and walked towards the Forest quarters. He opened the door and looked around. It didn't seem like his roommate was in yet. Lukas entered into the room and closed the door behind him as he walked towards his chosen bed. He threw his bags on the floor and sat down onto his bed. He looked around the room to see it's shade of green color and glanced over at the window. He then ran his hand through his violet hair and decided to lay in his bed a bit before unpacking. His eyes roamed around the ceiling and without notice he had fallen asleep.

Damien grew bored of the horses and turned away from the stable, looking for something else to do. His heart dropped when he realized that he had pretty much been everywhere outside the castle. That meant the only place left to go was in.

Reluctantly, the seventeen-year-old trudged toward the school which, strangely, had begun to resemble his snappy old grandmother. He slipped in through the doors and up the stairs, wandering aimlessly, before he heard the voices of two girls from above.

Looking up, he caught a glimpse of Grace and Amira, and instinctively moved into whatever shadow he could find. He would wait for the two to leave before continuing - he didn't want to be risk being seen at the moment.

Stupid school, he thought sourly, I don't think I'm ever going to get any privacy here.

Coralie brightened.

"Yes, let's," she smiled. "I'd like to go."

She set her bag down again and subtly folded her hands behind her back. It was a trick she had learned as a child that helped to keep her posture straight, and had grown into a habit.

"What else is there to plan, other than a meeting place and time?" she asked. She had never been good at thinking things through, and was especially bad at imagining consequences. It came from being an obedient child who rarely broke the rules outlined to her.

Her hand was shaking slightly as she fed the horse and she was concentrating on trying to stay calm, so when Lord Lawley suddenly appeared beside her, she jumped slightly and the remainder of the apple fell to the floor of stall. Blushing, she turned to face him and quickly curtsyed, the action ingrained in her since she was a child. Standing up quickly to face him, Lady Anita looked down at her feet, wondering how to word her question. "Iwouldliketolearnhowtoride," she mumbled quickly, spitting out the words before she could change her mind.

Glancing at the girl as she turned to face her, Cassi raised a delicate brow at the typical girly name. Bella...she thought, titling her head to the side in thought. Prehaps they would get along well, so long as the girl stopped being so darned timid. Sighing, she leaned against the window frame and leveled an even stare at the girl. "It's Cassiopeia Everson," she said formally, daring the other girl to comment, "but I tend to go by Cassi, unless I don't like the other person."

((I hope I'm right in assuming that the music is fast. If not just let me know and I'll be happy to edit...))

Moving quickly around the floor, Canis was once again gliding into a waltz, though much faster than any he would teach the children. The quicker the music became, the quicker his feet would move, taking him around the large ballroom in just minutes from his imagined dance. His heart was pounding from the dance and a slight bead of sweat was barely noticable above his brow. Aside from dancing with an actual person, this was the most fun Lord Canis had enjoyed for quite a while.

Just as suddenly as she had started, Lady Josephine stopped. She sat there, her hands still resting on the keys. The look on her face was thoughtful, and she suddenly reached out for a feather pen and a sheet of music. And the notes just began to flow onto the staff, slur after slur, note after note. Finally, she had completed it, and she began to play again. The music was as fast-paced as the last one, but had a smooth and ongoing rythmn to it.

Rylan blinked. "Should we have a plan?" he asked. He searched the drawer of the nightstand and found ink, parchment, and a quill. From memory he quickly traced out a miniature map on the top of the sheet. "Well, what is there to do in the middle of the night?" he questioned his brother. It wasn't often that Rylan disobeyed the rules, but Aaric had been known to break curfew... and several other things. He glanced at Coralie. "Is there anything you would like to do?"

"Okay," Grace said, and continued upward. She had a weird feeling that they weren't alone, but brushed it off. Old castles had that effect on you - especially since Grace didn't actually live in one. Her family owned an immense manor overlooking the sea with a garden of pink, purple, orange, yellow, and white roses. It was really her favorite place in the world. But she was being distracted. Once they got onto the third floor they could hear the beautiful melody of an expert at the piano keys. She smiled. "It seems our music teacher's talented," she commented.

Lord Taite nodded to Fuego, and waved as Lord Lawley left. "I'll have a mage bring it to you tomorrow morning," he told him. "Will you be there to translate for him in my charm class? I think that would be a beneficial start to learning polite conversation." The next day would merely be discussing appropriate greetings. "So, is that all? Does Machi require anything?" he asked. His mind was distracted - he was never one for discussing class schedules and such. Additionally, he wondered if he might find Lady Maybelline around.
PostPosted: Mon May 05, 2008 5:26 pm

"Well," Aaric interrupted, before Coralie could answer. "We need to prepare a route. We should walk past as little rooms as possible. I don't want you two being discouraged by getting caught on your first attempt at rule breaking. Besides, we do need to know what we'll be doing after we meet." He was suddenly taking charge of the operation, knowing what they would need to plan out. It was a pretty simple task, but he didn't want to get any of them into trouble by being careless. Aaric had of course done many more risky things, but he had two rookies under his wing. They had to be careful. "Do you want to do anything in particular?" he asked, echoing Rylan as he also turned to Coralie. He wanted to make sure she had fun doing this. Maybe then she would be encouraged to do it again. Aaric smiled warmly at her, making sure she didn't feel pressured to come up with something. There wasn't a whole ton to do in the middle of the night, but there were some things.

"Yes, that sounds beautiful," Amira said, as the music slowly died out. She smiled happily as it came back again, the melody light and smooth. Amira wasn't extremely talented in music, but she could play instruments well. Music might be a fun class, and she was sure that she would learn. Suddenly, she couldn't wait for classes the next day. With a small skip in her step, Amira made her way down the hallway. She was tempted to enter the classroom, but she didn't want to disturb her instructor. Amira turned to Grace and beckoned her over, wondering if she wanted to go inside, or just wait to see their teacher and classroom the next day. "I wonder what other instruments she can play," Amira commented as Grace came up to her side.

Lawley wasn't quite sure he had heard the young instructor correctly. Lady Anita had been frightened of horses as long as he knew her, one of the few things about her that he found difficult to get around. For her to want to learn to ride was a shock to Lord Lawley. And aside from that, she seemed rather scared of the idea. "Are you sure?" he asked her, putting a hand on her shoulder in comfort. He didn't want her to back out, but on the other hand, he didn't want to pressure her into doing something she didn't want to. "I'd be more than happy to teach you, but I know how frightened you are," Lawley said, his voice soft and soothing.

Smiling a bit awkwardly, she got off of her bed, smoothing out the bottom of her gown. "That is a very pleasant name" Bella complimented the girl's name in a gentle voice. At that moment, Bella took off her tiara that was on top of her head and placed it away in her luggage trunk. She did not feel like wearing such jewelries because it would not be very comfortable for her. After she did that, she turned to Cassi, curtsying just a little as a polite manner. "I am sorry for this...early leave, but it was nice to meet you and I will see and learn more about you as we are room mates" She said with a smile, just before leaving out the door.

Her targeted destination in mind was some place where she can read books, in peace. She was heading to the library and to which she remembered from a map, the library is on the second floor, just about two stair cases down. It did not take much time, she got there within minutes. Walking down the hall way of that section, Bella found the doors to the library. Opening the wooden doors, it revealed a very large room, filled with books that seems to be of an unlimited amount. Closing the doors behind her, she looked around in awe, still shocked at the mass of the place. A smile graced her lips as she browse through the cases of books. She found the section she was looking for, it is the fiction section. A part of the library that holds books of stories for one's own amusement and imagination. What Bella was more interested in is romance, drama, adventure, and suspense filled stories. She picked out some books, just a few in her arms. When she got about four books, she walked to the part of library in which that was the place around a fireplace chimney, elegant seatings surrounds it. She set her stack of books on a end table. Seating herself in one of the more cushioned and comfy couch, she chose only one book with her.

Bella sighed in relaxation, feeling so amazingly relaxed. Opening the beginning of the book, she began to read, a story of a glorious fantasy would fill her mind and dreams. 'This is the life...it has been forever since I have read such stories...'

The old man with the grey bushy beard and sharp butler outfit bowed solemnly. “No m’lord, I thank you for your precious time. And I shall be ever present at Machi’s side during his classes. I just hope you do not find my presence a distraction. I can promise you I will not be around for very long. I’ve already started Machi’s language classes.” Fuego tilted his head slightly as he noticed Lord Taite’s eyes flickering off to the side. A clear sign that the mind was wandering or yearned to be else where. Oh, he’d seen that look before, Machi was notorious for his short attention span. The eyes always wandered to see those they seeked. The old man chuckled inwardly. Youths these days. Fuego suddenly raised a hand to his chin as if something had come to mind. “Oh spirits forgive this old man! I forgot to give the boy his language book. I better hurry off now! It would certainly help if the prince had that!” He bowed again before bidding the man a good day and walking off to find the Prince.

Having greeted ‘Room’s Mate’ Machi walked about examining the place, especially the area where his belonging were set up. It was easy to see that this was Fuego’s doing. It made Machi wonder how long the aid was at it before realizing that Machi was missing. Or was it the other way around?

After finding that he was missing, Fuego had quickly unpacked everything and set it up in hopes that Machi would wander back and know where he was staying? Machi approached the large bed area, finding a set of clothes spread nicely upon it…along with a book, carefully bound in animal hide.

Ahh…This thing. In the excitement (or anger) of coming here, Machi had forgotten about this item. It was a tool bestowed upon him by Fuego. Granted at the time the man gave it to him, Machi had thought of it as a stupid tool. He could not hunt with it, and it did not tell him interesting stories. No, this book contained the foreign language of this world that he walked in. Fuego had instructed him to carry this with him always and use it often. The more he could grasp the language, the more powerful this book would become. Machi sighed dismally. He knew it was just Fuego’s way of trying to get him interested in learning another language. He’d been grilled in writing and reading, but he still had trouble comprehending when one spoke to him, this book translated greetings in his language and then theirs. So as long as he could follow this, it should be a little easier. The prince looked about and was pleasantly surprised to find the small knapsack that slung across one’s back or chest. This Fuego had made so that the prince could carry the precious book as he went about his daily life. Considering the circumstance and the area of which the prince interacted with on a daily basis, the bag was made of tough hide on the outside to keep out the rain, mud and heat, while on the inside it was lined with soft silks to pad the book. Machi flipped through the worn pages finding his leafy and floral book marks for certain areas. Areas that Fuego had told him to study and improve on. One of those were greetings. But before that…Machi felt his top itch and was reminded of how he hated so much clothing on his person. He looked about through his personal effects searching for his usual attire. Finally the boy pulled out a long red sash, the color or royalty, loose black slacks, and a loose black vest with tribal patterns of flame trimming the sides with it’s red tongue. While he was at it, he fished out his arm bands that fitted tightly over his biceps and arms. Machi was quick to shrug off his ‘princely’ attire and slip into his alternate outfit, finishing the whole look with scandals. His clothes still smelled of the salty air and the exotic flowers of his island. After he retightened his red head band around his head, Machi reluctantly slung the small knapsack around his shoulders and held the book out. Perhaps he would go heed Fuego’s advice and try to use their language more. Even if he didn’t know if he was saying it correctly half the time, the reaction he’d spark in others would at least give him an indication of what he should work on. He’d rather not rely on Fuego too much considering the man would be leaving. And really, Machi would rather tackle this challenge head on. After flipping through the book again, Machi stopped at a page and read the words carefully. He mouthed it to himself and then when he felt confidant enough he looked to ‘Room’s Mate again with a look of determination. “Hallooo Room’s Mate, my name is Machi.” He practically spat out each word forcefully.

She wasn't really quite sure how to react when he layed his hand upon her shoulder, but Lady Anita knew that if she didn't pull herself together quickly that she might just begin to get on his nerves. She had to force herself to relax at first until he started to speak and then it was gradual and instinctive; glancing at Whiskey she wondered if that was how he felt when Lord Lawley spoke to him. At that thought she blushed, embarrased and sure that it was a stupid thought, before looking down at her feet. Part of her was still extremely scared of the idea of even getting onto a horse, but another part of her desired to face it and get over it, a side of herself that she rarely listened to. Anita hesitated for another moment, before nodding. "Y-yes, I'm sure."

When the music suddenly stopped, Canis was jerked out of his dance, confused and wondering what he had been doing. He hadn't realized that he had been so caught up in the music. Sighing and shaking his head, he slid down to the floor and leaned against the wall, not moving even when the music started up again. He should have known better than to get so caught up; even though he was the dance teacher, as a person he was trained to be more aware, taught to be alert and wary of any setting and every person, no matter who or where he was. Leaning his head back against the wall, Lord Canis stared up at the tall ceiling blankly, his fingers instinctively tapping out the rythm on the floor.

The last note echoed through the hallway as the door opened. Lady Josephine stepped out and up the stairs. As she had played, she had realized how much more beautiful each note was played from the grand piano in the ballroom. She had played there many nights alone, and had begun to love how each individual note bounced off the walls. But as she stepped in, she was taken by surprise.

"Canis," she exclaimed, almost surprised to see the teacher sitting on the floor.

Grace was startled as the music teacher opened the door and breezed by, heading upstairs. "Well, I suppose we've been distracted enough by now. It's nearly lunch isn't it? We'd better talk to Lady Florizel?" She went to find the door. It was clearly marked, with a gold plaque reading Frog Identification in spiraling cursive. Before she could rap on the door it swung open before her. So it was true this castle had enchantments on it. She supressed an anxious shiver and entered the room. It was a soft yellow color and charts depicting frogs and princes adorned the walls. There were three seats set up in a row, and the teacher's desk was at the head of the classroom. There sat Lady Florizel, writing with a swan-feather pen. She was too conservative for color?

The door opened but Lady Florizel finished writing her report to the king before she looked up. Two princesses had entered the room. The one who had shrieked earlier, tall, with curling brown hair and mischievous blue eyes, and another, petite, with striking lilac hair and green eyes. The two were as different as night and day. "Hello ladies. How may I assist you?" she asked. She presumed that they would ask about her class. Princesses were usually suprised that they were required to take such a course.

Lord Taite smiled as Fuego ran off after Machi. It was always amusing to see how tutors, servants, and maids were so concerned yet stern with their young charges. His own servants had treated him in the same way. Though perhaps the females were more lenient. Since a young age he had had the power of eloquence, grace, and charm. Some found his personality attractive, and others who weren't so affected usually referred to him as an imp. But he was an adult now, with responsibilities and luckily, more time to spend on his own pursuits. Speaking of pursuits... he wondered if Lady Maybelline might be inclined to take a walk with him. He assumed she would be in the Magical Creatures Classroom and headed that way.
