It seemed Maya was provoking the Uchiha to go first. Observing the opponent's move first was the strategy that Xyn preferred, but against an unknown jutsu, he wondered if such an action was the best course. Even so, he had to stay focused. He didn't need to understand the fight, he wanted to understand why these two enjoyed such a thing. It wasn't the outcome of a victor and loser, just the fight itself. That was the only thing Xyn couldn't comprehend. Shifting his primary attention from Maya to Sukotto, he looked at the male just as he formed an attack. This was... first strike. Xyn kept his eyes fixed on Sukotto's expression. He'd read a certain philosophy that the first strike determines the tide of the battle, so this encounter might be the most important to examine. The Uchiha showed an appropriate concern for taking on two opponents, but that was the only thing he could determine. Xyn quickly adjusted his focus to see how Maya would react, not yet realizing Baki was Sukotto's target.

There were several large objects used as training equipment, but nothing that would provide proper cover. It seemed no one was in charge of putting away the goals and balls the humans had been using, but none of that was usable either. The raven considered hiding in plain sight, but he didn't know how the snake would react to his presence. Munin was slowly starting to realize that this was a terrible place for such a mission. If only it were the forest of shadows or even the center of the village. At least then there were alleys to move through and buildings to hide behind. All he could use in this place were the trees, and in this season, that option was limited.

Serena stiffened in preparation for Shinichi's verbal beating. 'I knew it, I knew it, it was probably such a horrible idea...horrible, horrible..' But nothing came as she was expecting it. For a second, it seemed like he was actually considering the idea..whoa, he's going with her idea! The Raiken perked up and started to listen to what he was saying more carefully. "Hm, that is true..I think we can definitely learn something from him before he might die." She followed Shinichi towards an exit of the training grounds, waving towards the other students there. "I'll see you guys later!" Quickening her pace, the genin caught up with the kage, excited about giving her idea a try.

Rokugi was overwhelmed by everything that was going on. They had finished whatever activity they where up to and taken a small time to rest before moving on. He still hadnt found the courage to speak and introduce himself to anyone and time was going by. What would Hamma think of him? Without him fully realizing it a spar was about to break up between two of the older kids in the village. They seemed about 2 years older than him perhaps. One of the sparring partners was a young boy with tan skin and somewhat unique eyes. Rokugi had noticed that he had changed his eyes at some point into some wird kind or Red iris with what seemed to be multiple pupils. "Could this kid be like me?" He was eager to speak with this boy and as the air began to fill around with the smell of a battle Rokugi's enthusiasm grew even bigger. The boy was talking a lot about Jutsus and such things and about a new figthing style that accomodated better to his natural abilities. Being one that never did good in hand to hand combat, Rokugi could learn much from this kid and his Jutsus. He had decided, he would stay and cheer for this boy and perhaps make it his first step into training to ask the boy to help him once the battle was done. If they both shared special eyes he was definately a helping hand.

Kane finished stretching his thigh muscles and moved on to his calves. Getting up, he lunged forward slowly, bending his knee as far as he could go. Eventually he got down so low that the curve travelling up to his head from his back leg ended up resembling an exponential curve. At this point Kane hissed - his calf muscles were particularly stiff for some reason. Maybe he'd overworked them yesterday, which was unlikely actually. Maybe they were just underworked. At any rate they needed a lot of stretching which he was content to give them. Thoughtfully, he swivelled his head over to where the crowd had gathered.

It seemed that Maya was fighting a boy... no, he was practically a man. Kane felt a small flicker of worry since the black-haired guy looked pretty formidable. But she seemed to be doing all right so far. Kane decided that after his stretching he'd return to where the activity was so that he wouldn't miss anything.

Karite looked around and saw Maya and Sukotto were about to fight. Karite knew well Sukotto was a hard working shinobi, but what did he fight for? That was a question he should have asked Maya as well. It seemed that in order to live such a life style as this you had to be here for more than just the thrill of the fight. "Maya, show him how Tategami fight!" Karite knew Maya was strong but he had never seen Sukotto fight. He had seen him train many a time and if he fought anything like he trained it would be a good fight much longer than his own with Maya.

Although he was caught up in watching the events of the fight, Kane didn't forget to switch sides. As he slowly and fluidly changed positions, he felt his muscles groaning in process at the speed with which he chose to do it. He guessed that they were tired from the morning's events after all. As he did so, his eyes roved around the rest of the training grounds for a moment. He looked at Shisei, just in a generally curious fashion, before moving on to Karite... well, still known as 'Shisei's teammate'. Kane still needed to do the kick ball thing although he had a feeling that he'd been gone too long to do it. There was also another guy that Kane hadn't seen before. He looked to be new to the village, and he certainly didn't remember that guy doing the kickball either, and at least approaching him would result in him at least learning his name. All in all a good payoff.

Releasing his stretch, happy with the renewed energy that coursed through his body, Kane picked up all his things and moved back to all the people.

As he approached the group of people, Kane found his interest getting more and more piqued by the new kid. It was the eyes. It was always the eyes. They were orange, as orange as the sunset and mandarin oranges in summer. The rest of the kid didn't look that spectacular really. Like Shisei he was small and skinny, but like Shisei he had something about him. Like everyone else on the island, actually.

With a smile on his face, Kane approached him. He did look pretty uncertain and probably didn't know many of the people there either. Kinda like Kane... moving on.

"Hi,"
Kane greeted him. His smile showed no teeth, but it was friendly nonetheless. "I'm Yamanaka Kane. Want to play a bit of kick ball...?"

Rougi was startled at the sound of voices so near him. He turned around to look at a handsome young boy. He seemed like a really nice guy, pretty friendly too. As the words finally arrived to his head he figured the boy was greeting him. Looking back from the fight about to start to the boy and the kick ball equipment around Rokugi nervously tried to talk and be nice back at the villager. " Hi, im Rin'Egan Rokugi...Im new here, nice meeting you." He didnt look up not even once while talking but instead kept his eyes focused on his feet, not that it mattered since his hair covered now most of his face. he pushed his sleeves back and with his left hand began scratching his righ arm. " Um, sure i guess. Im not very good at this . Never played it where i lived so you mind explaining it?" It was a bit of a relief having someone talk to him instead of him having to work it on his own, also he could ask This Kane about the boy figthing it with the girl and doubts he had about how the village worked.

"Rokugi-san," Kane said, his smile widening so that some of his teeth showed. They weren't sharp or feral or anything like that though. In fact it seemed to enhance his pleasant aura. "Nice to meet you." The kid looked to be kind of nervous, his eyes didn't even meet him. Nonetheless Kane could understand how he felt, since he'd been in his shoes before.

Upon hearing Rokugi's confession Kane grinned sheepishly and moved his fingers unconsciously to his hair. They had fallen in front of his eyes and he pushed the strands back, tucking them behind his ear. "Don't worry," he said. "We were supposed to do it just now. I think it's break time now. So yeah, basically, we pit ourselves against each other. One turn you're the kicker, and I'm the goalie, and then we switch. Oh... oh wait!" he said as he looked up at the sky, and finally figured out what time of the day it was. "Have you eaten? Because it would be better for us to get some food then instead of play, if you're hungry," he finished matter of factly. "Otherwise, we should start!" It was obvious that Kane was really keen on flexing his freshly stretched muscles.

Another two humans were playing that game...

Munin took notice of the boy he had previously tried to get a treat from. That creature was so involved in his exercise that he didn't seem to pay any attention to the raven. Munin scoffed and flapped his wings irritatedly in Kane's direction, although no one could actually see him from this position. Despite the insult he felt had been given to him, Munin considered that this might be a proper distraction. With those two humans and the big cat fighting, and these others starting that game, it would b much easier for him to slip by Shisei unnoticed, he'd simply have to figure out where the boy's attention was more focused. It was probably best to come up from the opposite side of the other human talking to Shisei, but he'd also have to stay out of that human's site...

This required a little more studying.

Maybe if he could get Shisei to move...

Munin altered his stance just slightly, making sure he hadn't been spotted before he hopped to a different branch to get a better view. He wasn't sure whether it was a good thing or a bad thing that it had stopped snowing. More snow might cause him to stand out, but other things flying through the air right now would make it slightly easier for him to move. He stayed close to the tree trunks with each change in location. Without leaves to give him cover, he'd simply have to avoid standing out in the open. He decided simply hiding wouldn't allow him to get close, he'd just have to move quietly... but still, he'd need to approach this boy carefully. Getting Shisei alone would be the easiest way, but making such a distraction would probably draw the humans together, not away from each other.

Maya was fast - but not smart enough to see what Sukotto was doing. When she did realize it though...

"You're dead!" she howled, her eyes darkening and a wild, unreadable expression on her face. Baki wouldn't dodge - there would be no point in even trying. He could only hope to brace himself, and then fight back. Maya snarled angrily - Sukotto had gotten stronger, faster, and she hadn't had any idea when that happened. But would she allow Baki to be hurt for it? She would rather face this new opponent alone than allow him to harm a single strand of Baki mane...further than he had already. After assessing Baki with a sweep of her eye, she snarled, baring her teeth at Sukotto and charging towards him, Baki at her heels, though a little slow.

Baki went down just the way Sukotto expected him too - his foreleg gave out, and the second hit to his ribs made the lion snarl and let out a responsive roar that echoed throughout the area. Baki fell easily to the ground, taking the blow in stride and waiting a moment before standing. He knew Maya was angry; he could feel her anger growing and knew that she would try to take all the hits herself if she could. But... Baki growled, following closely as she attacked the Uchiha. They hadn't fought together since they killed the Orochi in the war, but now they couldn't kill Sukotto....though, if he pushed them far enough, they would sure as hell try. Baki knew for a fact that now, he wouldn't mind taking a healthy chunk out of Sukotto's shins...

Rokugi tried to smile at the overly excited youth. It was nice of the boy to offer him some lunch but Rokugi wasnt hungry at all even so he hadnt eaten since yesterday. It might have been his nerves that kept his mind off of food. "Arigato, im not really hungry yet so i wouldnt mind trying this out first" his eyes lifted up a bit as he talked but he didnt keep staring long.Setting his bags aside near a tree he walked and grabbed the ball that the red haired man had thrown at him before and examined it then he walked and set himself in a marked distance from the goal net and placed the ball at his feet " Is it ok if i try to kick first?" The sun was high up and warmed his skin in this winter weather making him remember home. Full of excitement for being at last doing some excercise he readied himself for the kick. His hair covered his face for the exception of his right eye, his lseeves dangled almost to the point of touching the dirt in the floor and in his face a smile adorned his somewhat tan skin.It felt good to move from all that meditation into a more active enviroment

Munin was starting to move closer, but in a very wide perimeter. He hopped from tree to tree, not spending more than a second in one place unless to look around. He had started moving clockwise, going toward Shisei's right side. He had to keep everyone's relative position in mind before he attempted this stunt. The two humans and the cat were fighting on the far end from him now, a perfect angle for him to move discreetly behind anyone watching the fight. Relying on that alone was too risky. Still, he lined himself up to move in when ready. Once he was sure there were no humans in the area, the raven dropped down from the trees, using the scattered piles of snow as a cushion. Not realizing how cold it really was, Munin had to reroute all his concentration to not screeching while he climbed from the small crater he had made, frantically shaking the small ice crystals from his feathers. His only relief was that no one was around to have seen the display.

Still making his way clockwise over the grounds, Munin scurried hastedly toward one of the stray training dummies that were dotted over the area. He didn't need to hide behind it, simply stay close enough to it so as to not drawn attention to himself. Left... right... there was really no safe position to go. So many of the humans had gathered to the grounds that moving around undetected was almost impossible. However, he didn't need to be unseen, he just had to stay away from his targets. Most of them would most likely not care if they saw some creature moving along the grounds, he'd just have to keep from looking suspicious. Now that he was moving closer, he kept his eye on the humans playing with that ball. Neither of them would pay any attention to him as long as they were preoccupied, so he could move within sight of them. Deciding on his coarse, he moved out forward toward the large rock.
