The young Nara leaned back in his seat once he had completed his speed read, certain that there was no way that what he'd just done would produce any results. Though to his amazement he suddenly was able to understand how these simple devices were put together. Somehow the speed reading technique had worked for the boy better than he thought it would. Now he was on to figuring out the parts once again. Though now that he had a good base behind him learning the parts should be completed somewhat quicker than the first lessen. At any rate, the boy would begin studying out this second subsection with the speed reading method that had worked for him before.

Rhaim was not at all suprised to find that he didn't obtain the knowledge right away with the spped reading technique. After all it had taken ten attempts just to get down the basic construction of the devices, so it was only expected that it take a while for him to learn the parts and their names. However now the young boy was confident that the speed read was not the key but rather the many varied ways in which he stimulated his mind to try and solve the puzzle. He was excited to tackle this second part of the challenge and bring himself closer to victory. He cracked his neck and seated himself well back into the chair so that he could begin a normal paced regular read of the book to obtain as much content as possible. Basically the opposite of the speed read.

Unlike with his first portion, the boy took the fact that he didn't fully understand what he read to mean that he was slowly building upon what little knowledge he had. He wasn't about to march around the table like before, rather this time he would immediately pulled out some more index cards and begin making his flashcards again. Though they hadn't been the key factor to getting Rhaim to understand the devices build, they had definately played a part and he was not about to let such a valuable assest go unused. Once he was done with the flashcards themselves he set out to create his seperate paper for his mock self quiz, conducted in the same fashion as he had done earlier. The only difference this time was that the Nara only intended to learn and not memerise everything immediately.

Despite his resolve to not concern himself on whether or not he was able to retain all of the information from his previous two reads, Rhaim was still excited that he had gotten a hold on the parts of the simple devices. Now all that remained between him and full understanding of the book before him was the knowledge of just how to take them apart without something going horribly wrong. He knew that this section would likely prove as difficult as the first and so he decided that the best way to begin tackling this one was to conduct a slow read for content first, followed by a speed read, then a flashcard quiz, and then which ever method seems like it would help the most. Rhaim squinted his eyes even further, to the point where they almost dissapeared as he began digging into the book.

Right away the boy saw that the dismantling section was indeed going to be every bit as difficult as he had imagined it would be. The slow read had proven that he could pronounce the words and not trip up over the sentance structure, however it did little for his actual abilities. The next technique up to the guantlet of learning was the speed read, which would go rather smooth since he already had a basic idea of how the section read. This should completely eliminate any question he may have about what a word is saying, though what that sentance is meaning may still be lost to him. He pushed himself up alittle further from the pages, as he had learned from the last speed read that it seemed to flow better if he kept his eyes further from the pages.

The speed read had done just as he hoped as it brought him closer to knowing exactly what it said, though not an inch closer to knowing why it said what it said. Thus the next phase of his retention program was to develop and utilize flashcards to impose the ideas into his mind. The natural memorizing that went along with flashcards would only hieghten the level by which he'd get closer to fully grasping the concept of taking apart the simple devices. As he had done previously he set up the flascards with principles on one side and applications on the other, while then setting up a second piece of paper with numbers so that he could then quiz himself using his flashcards. So far the method had seemed to help out greatly and so he had faith that using this one would get him within range of understanding.

Just as the speed read and the slow read that he had conducted prior had brought him just a small bit closer to grasping the knowledge that the book held, so too did the flash card technique. Next up the young Nara would employ the read out loud to himself method to try and stimulate multiple sense as he had done before. Though he had little to no way to prove it, Rhaim full heartedly believed that this was a key part in understanding this particular section. Time would only tell if by conducting the out loud read he would be able to shorten the time needed to learn this section. Dismantling the simple devices was the ultimate goal, therefore it was of the utmost importance that he had certain to pay extra close attention to this last section of the book.

He could feel himself just outside of understanding the final portion of the book as he completed the read out loud to himself. He was getting rather excited at possibly being able to go home to his sisters and tell them that he had accepted their challenge and defeated it. Though that would be a great deal of talking and effort, both of which did not sound appealing to him at all. Thus he'd have to live with just knowing inside himself that he was able to overcome their meddling ways. Though they were not to be his focus now, the book and the secrets that it held were to be his focus at the moment. To conduct the next wave of mental overload Rhaim decided to focus mainly on key words and simply compress the instructions and principles as small as possible so that they'd be easy to remember and force him to think about them.

He'd finally done it. The young Nara closed the book on simple device dismantling with a small barely noticeable grin on his face. He pushed himself up from the table and replaced the book where it belonged. He sighed heavily and walked out of the library with an expression that was just as lazy as when he'd walked in.

With a sigh Tenma entered the library in order to clear her head. It was fairly empty and, of course, quiet. However, once Tenma got to the library, she wasn't sure what she was going to do. Then it hit her, she would see if she could plot out the path that she had taken to get to Konohagakure - or at least where she had passed out. Searching through the maps she found one that was appropriate and went outside. As she pondered where to sit she saw a lovely bench beside the lake - perfect. She sat cross legged on the bench and opened the scroll to reveal Amegakure and Konohagakure side by side. The first step was to pinpoint where her home had been. As she pointed to an area she checked her work - no, too far North.

Tenma attempted to recall landmarks that might lead her closer to the location of her old home: the stream that she fished in with her grandfather or the meadow that her grandmother took her to in order to pick flowers and gather honey. Her eyes grazed the map as a smile spread on her lips with the fond memories. However, as she looked over the map she realized something - she had been looking too far North still. As a matter of fact, she was looking so far North that she wasn't even in Amegakure. With a blush spreading to her cheeks Tenma realigned herself with the appropriate country.

Now that Tenma had the correct country in her sights she gained a slight bit of confidence. Though the fact that she had yet to manage the dog handsign was still gnawing at her she continued to search for her landmarks. She was close, she knew it, but no dice. Shaking her head she knew she was looking a bit too clase to Konohagakure. Taking a deep breath she pressed on.
