Quantel ( Teralinth dKalin )
Aria ( Rynn )
Hitomi ( Sarabi Adruenna )
Kojak ( azuredreams )

A strange sight indeed entered the Feien shop at this time. First a pair of matched Pixadogs, huskies both, who appeared to be wearing a set of tiny harnesses complete with traces, stepped over the threshold of the doorway, pulling their burden as they came. Following them, bound to them by the long cords that connected to each corner, was what appeared to be a pallet created from a dark blue potholder. Riding atop the pallet, or hovering slightly now as the pallet bounced over the threshold, was a strange bloom, long spikes curving around its delicate white and red interior.

Overseeing this all, and the source of the Levitation spell the was currently keeping the bloom from being jostled, was Quantel, a few inches in the air and directing the dogs with a gesture to the interior of the shop. "Carefully, carefully! If a single bit of harm comes to this bloom, I shall have both your hides!" Her eyes narrowed dangerously and her wings unfurled.

Needless to say, the dogs were careful as they finally made it past the door.

Aria flew into the shop soon afterwards, having left Ianios at home with Rynn. She was a bit bored and felt like getting out. Having landed on the counter, her eyes scanned the shop, hunting for a familiar face.

There...down on the floor....there was the prettiest bloom she'd ever laid eyes on. Spiky, but with red and blue...oh..she had to go down and see it. Landing, she started when she saw the feien with the bloom. It was her near twin!

"Hi!" she called out cheerfully. "I'm Aria! We look almost alike. Weird, huh?"

Hitomi was sitting on a table with large bowls of orange and red paint, although it seemed more paint was on her face and hands then in the bowls. She was finger painting a picture of the bright orange feien she met last night. Upon seeing the PixaHuskies come in her long ears perked and she leaned forward to get a better look. Upon seeing the spiky frightening blossom she grimaced as she looked up to the wide blue wings of Quantel. Maybe she wouldn't be noticed, she quickly went back to her finger painting.

Once they were on the relatively level surface of the shop's floor, Quantel allowed the bloom to settle back onto its pallet. She landed beside it, one hand reaching out almost affectionately to smooth over the side of its thorns. "There now, darling... Those nasty dogs did not bother you any, did they?" she cooed.

Linth and Kalin exchanged looks with one another, then turned their heads in the direction of the newcomer. Both lifted their lips in slight warning, the tiniest exposure of their teeth flashing.

Quantel, at the sound of Aria's voice, brought her wings in close to her body. She had hoped that this trip to the shop, for the sole purpose of obtaining goods for the bloom, would go without the appearances of any other Feien. Unfortunately, it was not to be. The sunshine in Aria's voice grated her nerves, but she restrained herself to a cool nod. "Aii, we would appear to be similar." Disgustingly enough.

Through this, her hand never left the bloom.

Aria nodded, smiling brightly. "New housemate? That one is awful pretty. Has it a name yet?" She asked, looking over the bloom. She noticed how Q's hand was petting the bloom. "Or is he or she your child?"

Though she hadn't heard of any other feien breeding lately, it very well could be. The bloom did share in Q's coloring.

She glanced at the dogs, a little unnerved by them showing teeth. She wasn't use to anything doing that. Her own pixas seemed to be very friendly. Only time anything bared teeth were the dragons, but they usually did it only in play. She wondered why they chose to bare teeth at her. She wasn't a threat.

"PixaPups!" Hitomi hopped to her feet and fluttered down closer to the shop's entrance. She saw the older, adult feien and suddenly felt very young. "Um..Hello. My name is Hitomi." She looked down at the little harnessed dogs and smiled before they growled and she frowned a bit. Her eyes moved up to Quantel, she was a good 3 inches taller than herself. "Umm..are these your dogs? They seem kinda angry..."

Blinking her eyes slowly, in an almost reptilian manner, Quantel looked Aria over. The taller Feien's dissettlement with the huskies was apparent, and mildly amusing. This fact along kept Quantel's demeanor pleasant, or as pleasant as she was wont to be with a Feien she despised. "It is not a valid practice to name a creature prior to its birth." As she turned her head in the direction of the items case, the motion caused a tumble of her hair to fall over her shoulder, partially obscuring her features. "Some cultures consider it to be inviting evil spirits to feast upon the innocent, defenseless being."

She chose to ignore the idiotic question as to the bloom's parentage; after all, where it came from mattered not, for it was now Quantel's. An almost unseen motion of her left hand caused the huskies to relax their stance, sitting simultaneously. However, now there was the manner of an impressionable young Feien to attend to. She turned back to the others, smiling softly at Hitomi. "You need not worry. They will only attack if they feel I am threatened."

Aria relaxed then. She hadn't know it was bad luck to be named before one was born. She'd keep that in mind. And at least her Pixas weren't a threat anymore. She smiled at the colorful feien.

"I'm Aria. Nice to meet you," she said, her eyes a little wary though. She had always thought the best about the other feien until they proved her wrong. Like Arturo. He was downright cold to her. What Ares saw...well, he managed to turn her the same way. She was secretly glad she hadn't had the pleasure of running into either since.

She didn't quite know what to make of Quantel though. So far the other adult hadn't offered her name. Well, neither had the younger feien. But that was alright. "Here to show the bloom around?" she asked.

Hitomi smiled at the dogs. She held out a hand for them to sniff and cautiously stepped closer. Hoping they didn't suddenly lash out at her she knelt down in front of them while looking up at Quantel, "Do they have names? They are awfully cute. I have a PixaMouse at my house. Her name is Eurydice. She's an air mouse. And she's blue...kinda like your hair, but lighter. And she has clouds." Hitomi reached out to stroke the soft for on the top of the nearest dog's head.

The nearest dog, Kalin, laid his ears back as Hitomi reached for him, his muzzle beginning to wrinkle once more. When Quantel saw this, though inwardly pleased at his reaction, she outwardly frowned and snapped her fingers quickly. "En qui ka'Hanel, Kalin!" Almost instantly the dog relaxed, and Quantel smiled. "The one there is Kalin, and his companion is Linth."

Rather than turning her attention back to Aria, Quantel leaned down to begin unfastening the ties that bound the pallet itself to the cords the dogs wore. "Actually, my intentions are to obtain some goods for the bloom in my care. A tour can wait until after it has emerged." Her nimble fingers made quick work of the knots.

That made sense, Aria realized. She had brought Ian around when he was a bloom, rather a leaf really, just to show him off. Quantel was making a better parent than she. At least it seemed to Aria.

"Makes sense." Aria nodded, feeling a little stupid. She didn't like feeling stupid. Maybe it'd be better if she kept her mouth shut. The younger feien was doing better than she.

Hitomi's hand jerked back quickly and she frowned. "I guess she smells Eurydice and doesn't like mice. Or maybe it's the paint. Sorry." She stood up quickly and looked around herself. She felt thoroughly embarrassed. Her face flushed and she turned to look at the other blue one. "Hello. My name is Hitomi."

Aria nodded. "Nice to meet you," she said softly. Yes, better to keep her mouth shut. She didn't have many friends, no sense in chasing these two off if they found her to be dumb.

As she did not feel a response was needed from her as of yet, Quantel turned her full attention to the bloom. Though confident that she would succeed in this endeavour, she still felt a slight twinge of nerves. Shaking that away, her eyes focused on the bloom, and she began the spell.

Slowly, both the bloom and the pallet lifted off the ground together, rising into the air an inch, and then two. Still they rose, higher and higher, Quantel tilting her head back so as not to break eye contact with them, every inch of her being focused on the effort. Kalin and Linth followed both as well, apprehensively, as they knew that should anything unfortunate occur, they would be the ones to suffer Quantel's wrath.

When the pair of objects crested the top of the counter, Quantel nudged them over slightly, then allowed them to land. She exhaled softly, and at length, releasing the breath she had held and the spell she had used at the same time.

Aria blinked. Wow...this new near twin was powerful. Her own magic seemed weak and...and...what was a good word for it? Boring. Yes, boring was the word. All she knew was water magic. Fat lotta good it was though. She couldn't show off even if she wanted too.

She followed Quantel to the countertop, being sure to land away from the bloom. She didn't want to fall on those spikes. They looked sharp. "So what are you planning on getting?" she asked softly, still admiring the bloom.

She wondered if Hitomi would be following.

Hitomi watched in amazement as Quantel levitated the bloom and palatte up to the table. This was the first time she has actually watched magic being performed. She has been away from the Feien world for quite some time and hadn't yet been able to really meet anyone. Being alone on the moon with no one but your mother and a bunch of aliens can take it's toll. "That was pretty cool. I don't know much magic. But I'm learning how to meld two objects together. I've been practicing! She quickly seizes two large threads from the floor and scrunches her face as she forces the two ends together into one long thread. "See!"

Quantel flew to the countertop, not looking at Aria as she went. When she landed, it was much closer to the bloom than Aria had chosen, her hand already moving out to touch it softly.

"I have not yet decided what I shall obtain." Though she examined the objects in question, she kept track of Aria from the corner of one eye. "So much to choose from..." Truth be told, she was slightly tired now from the use of the spell, but she felt that the reactions it had earned were well worth it.

Aria smiled at Hitomi. Another useful power, she noticed. Her being able to breathe underwear and such, what good were they? She was really starting to doubt herself. She had felt the same long ago, back when she was around Hitomi's age. Worthless. Couldn't stand out for anything, no matter how hard she tried.

She blinked to get herself from her thoughts. They'd not do her much good now. "Yes, there's a lot to choose from. Maybe the basics? Like a chest for one, and utensils for eating, later after the feien emerges." She was trying to be helpful.

Hitomi has been absorbed in her demonstration that she hadn't noticed the other two fly off. She winced a bit as she flexed her wings and fluttered up to the table. She was neither fast enough, nor did she have the stamina to fly very quickly so she flew more like a butterfly: Short sperattic bursts of energy. She still held the thread in her left hand and she didn't want to lose it. It was one of the first times that a spell had worked so she quickly wrapped it around her wrist and melded the two ends together. "What kind of flower is that? It um...a little scary."

Aria watched as Quantel suddenly had to go. "It was a feien bloom. We all started out as such, more or less," she explained, her voice soft. She still hadn't learnt her near twin's name. Perhaps she had wanted it that way.

"My housemate, Ianios, he started out as a leaf." She hadn't seen any others in their flower stage, so she assumed Ian had been an exception. "You had a flower stage as well."

Hitomi quirked an eyebrow. "Mamma has a diary on it's all pink like me, and on the front is a picture of a pink and blue and yellow flower. Could that have been me?" This information was all a bit much to think of at once so she easily left bits out to remember. "Everyone did? Or just Feien?" Hitomi wasn't exactly the slickest thing since Vaseline.

Aria smiled gently. "Just feien. Everyone is born differently. And I'm pretty sure that was your bloom, judging by your coloring. Mine was a solid blue, with a little white. Ian was a green leaf, maple I think Rynn said he looked like."

She liked this newcomer. Reminded her a lot of Ianios. Curious as a kitten. Just now she felt out of place. Her near twin had made her feel like she was stupid, worthless.

Hitomi scrunched her forehead. She loved to learn new things, but usually in much smaller bites. "But then...where does everyone else come from? Different plants? I'm confused." She looks down at her wrist and fiddles with the mottled thread now wrapped around her wrist.

Aria giggled. "No. Some people are born from other people. Some hatch from eggs. Or something like that. Not too sure where everyone comes from. Not everyone comes from a plant. I got a housemate, she was born from a candle."

She looked at Hitomi, smiling gently. "Not meaning to confuse you though." She glanced at the thread. "Nice power you have there. Beats mine."

Thankful for a change of subject Hitomi smiles. "It's not very useful right now. I've only managed to meld very very small things together, like this thread. And a few small rocks on the moon." She then flicks at the paint that has begun drying on her arms. "I can hold my breath for a long time too. That helped when I was trying to fix things on the outside of the space ship that me and Mamma were on. Cause most people die in space because they can't hold their breath long enough."

"You were on the moon?" Aria blinked. She never dreamed anyone could go on the moon! "Was it pretty? It's always pretty when I see it here."

Aria liked sitting out on full moon nights, watching it. She said once there was a man on the moon, cause there looked to be a face there. Ian thought she was joking, until he saw it too. Rynn explained what it really was, but she liked watching the moon too, felt like she was at home, just watching. Like she belonged there.

"You can hold your breath? I can breath water like the fish Rynn has. It's not much of a power or anything though."

"My Mamma and Aunty Whitey went to the moon to save an orphanage that was being taken over by bad guys. They saved it and now they work to find good homes for all the kids that are there. Aunt Whitey stays there most of the time to deal with business on that end." She makes little quotey fingers around 'deal with business'. "She pretty much just watches computers and draws while Mamma runs her butt off down here trying to find them all good homes." She fiddles with the wrist wrap a bit more. "But Aunty Whitey comes and visits and she is very nice. She and Mamma might even be having a baby soon."

A baby? Aria hadn't seen a baby before. "We have an orphan at home too, Malthius. He's pretty nice, quiet though." She sat down, a bit bored now. "So...what do you do in your spare time?"

"We have an orphan too. She snuck home with us. Her name is Shenandoah. And she is a Star Child. And she is very smart. And she is very pretty. I like to fix things. And paint things. And sculpt things. Mamma has a big box at home full of art stuff. And she bought me some paint and some erasers that I can sculpt." Hitomi has the awful habit of speaking very fast and jumping around subjects. It's a talent to be able to follow her longer sentences. "What about you?"

Aria giggled, actually able to keep up with her. "I like to go swimming, can't now though. Unless it's in the tub. Too cold. I play with all the pets we have, games, watch anime...Rynn has a huge collection of dvds. Ian and I, we do treasure hunts, explore..." She trailed off, trying to think.

"Sometimes I just snuggle to Ian. We relax that way, tickle each other. Have a good time. I like art too, I just don't paint all that much. Never tried to sculpt anything. Is that fun?"

"I've never been swimming. Not much water on the moon. I don't have anyone to really snuggle with. Everyone is so much bigger than I am! It would be nice though. Shenandoah is probably my closest friend right now, but she's a lot bigger than me to." She flicks some more at her painty arms before looking back at her again, "And sculpting is a LOT of fun. And it's a lot of fun to mess up cause then you can just squish it all back together and start all over again. It's hard to do that with paint. Do you have any pets? I have a pixa mouse named Eurydice. She's an air mouse. She's blue and has clouds."

Aria nodded. "We have a ton of pets. Pixa dogs, cats, and mice. And we got little dragons for Christmas. And there is firebirds, and a griffon Nigel got me, he was my guy, but he moved away I think. I got a water kitty and Ian's got a earth doggy. Hehe, they match us."

Maybe she could talk Rynn into getting her some clay or something to make into things. That'd be neat. "Ian's a feien like I am. He's green marked, and a plant element. He can make plants grow fast! I'm water. What are you?" Her coloring didn't give hers away. Well, a lot of feien, you couldn't guess on their coloring either.

Hitomi's eyebrows rose in shock, "That's a LOT! Mamma can't fit that many in the apartment. We live in the city when we aren't on a shuttle. Mamma keeps an herb garden. They always die though. A person like Ian would be helpful. I'm air, which is weird since I can't really fly all that well. That's why I can hold my breath though."

"... so, you're saying you want to go on in by yourself while I go get those things?" Wren raised an eyebrow, head tilting to the side to look at Kojak who was sitting upon his shoulder. He stretched out and smiled easily before standing up.

"I can take care of myself," Kojak replied before lifting himself up into the air and looking around Wren's head for the darkly glowing blue gem there. He gave it a wave before looking back at Wren and going back to stand on his shoulder. "You won't be long, so it won't hurt to be by myself."

"I guess." Wren sighed, shaking his head. "All right, fine. I'll take you on inside. Can't see why you can't wait for another day ..."

"You're clingy, you know that?" Kojak tilted his head to one side, smiling still as if trying to charm Wren out of glaring at him.

"The obvious wins again," he muttered, opening up the shop door so that they could go inside. Both of them were all most immediately listening to hear if anybody else was inside.

Air was a interesting element. But one that couldn't fly well? That was odd. "I see." That was very odd. "We got a cottage. Rynn likes having a lot of pets and others around. She use to get lonely and since we all came alone, she's happy."

"Well it's good that she's happy. It would be bad if she was still sad all the time living with you guys." Hitomi's long bouncey ears perk up upon hearing the door open. She notices that it is a bondmate and his Feien. And on top of it, a boy feien, her own age! She starts tucking stray hairs back into place and flecking the rest of the pant off herself before he could get a good enough look at her.

Aria looked over, smiling. Another interesting looking feien! "Hey!" she said, waving him over. "Come join us!"

"Over there." Kojak pointed and then waved at the sound of one of the feiens waved at them both. Wren wrinkled his nose up, but complied. It wasn't like it would make him go out of his way.

"Be -"

"Behave myself?" The feien interrupted, smiling still and Wren just shook his head as he walked over to where the other two feien were settled. "I will, trust me." His attention wasn't even on Wren, more like those other two and looking closely at that.

"Somehow, I know you will." The words were murmured quietly and before Wren even reached the other two, Kojak was all ready on his way over to greet them. "Eh. I'll be back in a bit, all right?" he repeated, feeling a bit wary and worried.

"I'll be fine." Kojak twisted, smiling widely at Wren, and waving at him to go out. The man sighed once more before turning to go. It gave Kojak plenty of time to land and smile at the two ladies before him. "Hello," he said pleasantly, smiling all the way.

Hitomi smiles widely at the new boy. "Hello! My name is Hitomi. He reminds me a lot of my Mamma. It took a long time for me to convince her I could find my way home this time. I got a little lost last night. Thankfully Shenandoah was awake and was able to help me find my way home." She's babbling more so then usual and she blushes.

Aria smiled. "Hi, I'm Aria!" She patted the space beside her. "Have a seat!"

She looked over at the new feien, taking in his coloring and markings. "Wow, you're an interesting looking feien! I like your coloring! And you got a tail? How cool!"

At least she had lost her feelings of feeling stupid.

Kojak blinked a bit. Hitomi's words were kind of like a whirlwind, but he got what she meant. He chuckled, ducking his head down a bit and then grinned. "Wren's clingy," obviously meaning the man that left, "but he's just worried since I just recently ... bloomed."

"My name's Kojak, and it's a pleasure to meet the both of you. Hitomi, Aria." He smiled and then took the seat that Aria offered, tail swishing from side to side and then settling as he did. "Thanks," he replied to Aria. If he had been a different sort, he might have felt the urge to blush under the compliments, but he didn't. "I like your colorings too, Aria, and your hair Hitomi."

It was interesting to see different feiens beside Valsharess.

Aria blushed. She was the type to blush at anything. "I know what you mean. Rynn was the same. She liked having me around. Barely could go anywhere for a while."

Aria was one of the first creatures Rynn had adopted. She had been lonely, so she didn't like Aria being out of her sight.

There were so new feien nowadays. It was cool.

Hitomi smiled and went a sat down next to Kojak. You're hair is very cool too. I like it! Me and Aria were talking about the kinds of things we like to do in our spare time. What about you? What have you been doing in your recently acquired spare time?"

"Wren's protective, I think." Paranoid was another way to put it, but Kojak hadn't quite reached the point to think about it that way. His tail swished a little as he watched the other two. Both of them blushing! "I got to come here because he's not that far down the street."

"Thanks," he smiled at Hitomi, turning his head to look at her. "Well, I ... haven't really had a chance yet to enjoy it. Learn about what's around me for now, I guess." Since he had only recently come out of his shell -- literally.

"You and Mr. Wren could come by my apartment sometime if you like! Me and Mamma live in the city. It's weird how a city can be so big but living spaces can be so small and cramped. But we make do. I like to paint and fix things! You should try painting, I bet you'd be good at it. Or anything else you choose to do I guess." Hitomi fiddles with her hands. She's in an odd state, she's feeling a bit shy and she doesn't know why. It's un-like herself to feel this way. But this is the first young boy Feien she's met so far.

"We live out in the woods....it's nice and quiet. Very fun to be there." Aria covered her mouth as she yawned. She glanced to the clock. Boy, it was getting late. "I'm sorry, I'm going to go home now. Getting tired. Nice to have meet you, Hitomi, Kojak."

She got up, stretching her wings. She waved, then launched herself out the door.

"Nice to have met you, Aria." Kojak waved to her as she left, turning his attention back to Hitomi and smiling again. "Wren lives in a big house with his wife and children. It's kind of quiet." And Kojak lived there now of course and Wren was very good about taking care of him so far.

"Maybe we can come visit sometime." He grinned a bit, watching Hitomi. She was fidgeting so much. Kind of like Wren, really, how he was nervous -- it was the first thing he noticed. What could it be that was making her fidget? Wasn't him, was it? "I can all ways try that. Painting? It sounds like it'd be fun."

Hitomi waves to Aria as she flies out. "Come by and visit sometime!" She glances around the rest of the shop before realizing that she was now alone with Kojak. Her stomach does flip-flops and she tries to shake it off.

She bites her lip nervously as she looks to Kojak, "I made a finger painting earlier of a pretty orange Feien I met last night." Hitomi reaches across the table and pulls it closer. It's not Michelangelo but it is at least recognizable as a picture of Reneeka.

Michelangelo? That was unfamiliar. Kojak made a note to ask Wren later about it and he leaned over to look at the picture that Hitomi made and then glance up at her. "It looks good. I don't know who's in the picture." He looked thoughtful, as if he could figure out who it was by just looking.

He glanced over at Hitomi again, curiously all most, because of the way she was acting. He just smiled again though and turned his attention back to the painting. "Whoever it is, they're bright."

"Her name is Reneeka, I met her last night. She's very bright. And she likes music. Any kind of music. I don't get music most of the time. It's a bunch of loud noise and it hurts my head after a while. So she must be pretty talented. Mamma likes to sing, and that's nice." She picks at the paint still under her fingernails and smiles widely to Wren hoping not to make it so awkward for herself.

"Reneeka?" he asked, before letting her continue on. He watched her pick at the paint before smiling a little. "Wren would play music while I was still a nut. Some of it was really good and Wren would sing too." She seemed nervous, but that was fine. It didn't bother him. "Have you thought about listening to different kinds of music to see if they won't hurt your head?"

Hitomi shrugged, "I only try and listen to what Mamma has. But after a while I turn it off and tell her to sing instead. One time the radio broke and she wanted me to fix it. So I did but I made it so that it couldn't pick up certain channels that hurt my head. I don't think she ever caught on. She says I'm sneaky." She shrugs as she puts Reneeka's finger painting back where it was on the table.

"Singing's better, I think. It sounds real." Kojak smiled, fingers absently starting to tug on his tail before stopping and letting it swish on it's own. "... that is sneaky to do that. Crafty, too. You're good with your hands, aren't you?" he asked, suddenly. She painted and fixed things. She had to be.

Hitomi nods, "I can only fix small things though, like radio and circuitry on spaceships. I can get in all the little nooks and crannies cause I'm so small. I can't fix things like cars or repair whole space engines. I can hold my breath for a really long time though so my mom used to ask me to fix things on the outside of the ship. It was fun. And I made a hidden place in the cargo hold so my friend Shenandoah could come home with us without Mamma finding out. And it worked! She lives with us know in the apartment." Her eyes drift from his beautiful smile do his swishing tail and back again. She looks at her own hind quarters before saying, "You have a tail."

Those words were like a whirlwind again, but Kojak still seemed to catch it all and nod a little. "Sounds really interesting. I've been seeing what I can do and everything. Don't know if I'll be as good with my hands as you sound like you are." He gave a small glance to her painting and smiled at her.

When she mentioned his tail, he actually laughed and looked towards it. He swished it a bit, the tail actually looking to be the same texture as his hair. "I do. Wren was kind of stunned I did. One of his kids has a tail too, he says their useful to have." Of course, none of the other feiens he met so far had a tail -- so it seemed unique to him.

Hitomi pictured having a tail protruding from her hind end and she quirked an eyebrow, "It must get in the way sometimes. What happens if you sit on it?" She looked generally concerned, "And what if you were sleeping and rolled over on it?" She began to get a bit worried, "But I suppose you'd get used to it if you had one all the time."

Her face stretched as she involuntarily yawned. "I'm feeling very tired. And I'll take me a while to find my way home. I want to make sure I don't get lost this time so Mamma will trust me to go out again." She peers out a nearby window into the sky. "Shenandoah is out so she might be able to help. She helped last time. I really liked talking to you tonight Kojak. I hope you can convince Wren to come by and visit us sometime." There was an odd amount of stress on the word 'really'. She dipped her red quill, always stuck behind her ear, into a bowl of orange paint and scribbled her address on a spare sheet of paper she had been planning to paint on. She hands it to Kojak, "It would be a lot of fun to show you around sometime. It's always good to see sights outside of your own house. At least that's what Shen says." She blows Kojak a kiss and blushes before slowly fluttering out of the shop.

"Not so far it hasn't," Kojak replied, thinking about it and then nodding in agreement with himself. "It's just an extension of my body. I think tails help you with balance, Wren mentioned it to me." Though, for a moment, he looked stumped at what he did with his tail while he slept since he hadn't really slept that many times. He'd have to pay attention to it. "... I'm use to it, since it doesn't bother me or hinder me."

When Hitomi yawned and stretched he raised an eyebrow. She was sleepy, but it was late so that was natural. Wren had said so before they had gone out. It was part of the reason why he was wary leaving Kojak alone. "Be careful, Hitomi." He took the piece of paper, folding it up so that he keep a good grip on it. His head tilted to the side, eyes narrowing to study her briefly, before simply smiling at him. "It was pleasant talking to you," he said genuinely, "and maybe I will come to visit sometime, to see the sights. If Wren'll let me." He laughed and, if possible, his grin actually got a little wider at the blush and the kiss he was blown. She was nice, kind of like a little whirlwind. With words at least.

"Bye!" He waved, winking in return, and then once she was gone set about looking around the shop until Wren returned to pick him up.

Not that it was much longer. The man really could be paranoid.

Aria flew into the shop, singing softly to herself. She wanted to get some more cloth, to make some beds for all the pets they had running around. There were so many and Rynn hadn't had the time.

Spying two familar red/orange feien, she grinned. Maq was there! She dove down, hovering behind him, putting her hands over his eyes. "Guess who?"

Nodding solemnly, Reneeka resigned herself to having been careless and lost it. But she also knew this feien was right, and that she'd see Hitomi again, so it wasn't such a horrible loss. "You're right. I'm sure I'll see her again."

It wasn't till a moment later that it hit her. "Mercy me, where are my manners. I apologize. Here we are, having a conversation, and I haven't introduced myself. My name is Reneeka." A flash from her previous encounters, namely with Ian, reminded her to extend her hand out for a friendly shake.

Something out of the corner of her eye looked rather familiar, but Rene knew her manners mattered at the moment, if only to herself, so she didn't turn to look quite yet.

She was quite surprised when yet another familar blur appeared behind her current company. Waving a little to Aria, Rene smiled warmly.

First the arrival of a bright pink flutter, and now... Reaching up a hand to cover those over his eyes, he ran his fingers along the shape of the digits, then up one wrist and over Aria's forearm. "Hmm... I'm going to have to guess..." His fingers tarried momentarily over the inside of her elbow before he grinned. "Aria?"

This was good. Two relatively well-adjusted adults here to talk things out with a pair of juvies. Much better them than other Feien Maq could think of. Of course, with his eyes covered like this, he missed Reneeka offering her hand.

Hitomi peered out the windows hoping she'd lost it. After getting home extremely late last night Mamma saw fit to buy her a set of Sprockets. Or as Hitomi liked to call them, Watchdogs. Even though they bore no resemblance to dogs in anyway. She had just turned to fly towards the other group when she hears the familiar buzz of the Watchdog that was sent to follow her around for the day. The almost translucent misty grey shell of the Air Sprocket comes whooshing through the window just after her. Hitomi rolled her baby blue eyes and took off floyings towards the group, two of which she recognized. "Hello Everyone!"

Aria giggled, letting go of Maq's eyes and waving to Reneeka. "Hi!" She said, coming around front, and landing. The caress in her elbow felt good, way good, but there were too many other feien about. "Hi Reneeka, Hitomi!"

She grinned up at Maq, her eyes sparkling. Had he been alone...well, she would suggest a snug off on a shelf or something. But with the children, that was out of the question.

Reneeka glanced down at her untaken hand, then to his eyes being covered and quickly retracted her hand, blushing. "Hello Aria!" Another voice joined them and she turned to greet it as well. "Hello Hitomi! We were...sort of just talking about you! Though I assure you it was all good."

Turning back to the rest of the feien, Reneeka observed them all. It was becoming apparent to her that none were alike. In color, shape, size, or demeanor. Not that that was a bad thing or anything. Just a simple observation she'd made so far.

"So all you lovely ladies have already met?" Maq laughed, as he wrapped a friendly arm around Aria's shoulders. "Good, good. Strength in numbers, and all that."

As he took in the two youngters, his fingers unconciously tightened on the roll of paper in his hand, forgotten. "Guess you two need to know who I am... Maquinar's the name, but you're free to call me Maq."

The door to the shop was opened and there was all most immediately growling noises heard from the entrance. Kojak came in, all most a roll in the air as he twisted to look around at Wren. He was getting a hang of the flying thing, even if he wasn't all that fast.

"Look, Kojak," the blue totetsu in Wren's arms squirmed and growled, trying to get free, "you stay here while I try to get Ripper a collar and a lead." At the mentioning of a collar, the totetsu started to squirm more. "... before he bites somebody else's arm off," he muttered quietly, before speaking louder, "take care of yourself. I'll be back, okay?"

"Okay. I'll be fine." Kojak nodded his head, happy that Wren was too distracted by the beast in his arms to be worried about him. Then again, at least the thing wasn't trying to eat him like it had some. He turned back around after the door shut and let his attention drift over to the others in the shop. He knew two of those present at least, but one reminded him of the painting Hitomi showed him. So, of course, he started to head that direction.

Aria grinned, wrapping an arm around Maq's waist. "Yep, we met last night, the night or so before..." She trailed off, seeing Kojak and his bond enter. "Hey! Nice to see you again so soon!" She waved him over, grinning.

She glanced up at Maq, not noticing the paper in his hand. "Hey, Maq, you know I got a near twin? I never caught her name last night though...." She trailed off, feeling a little uneasy again. That one had really raised some selfdoubt in her, but she shrugged it off. Most other feien seemed pleasent and she wasn't about to let her near twin ruin it for her.

Hitomi clasps her hands behind her back and rocks on the balls of her feet and smiles widely. "Really? I've only been back for a few days and already the talk of the town!" She looked to Maq as he introduced himself, "It's nice to meet you!"

As she heard the door open she leaned back to look and see who else was comming in. A busy day at the shop! She saw the fluffy swirls of black and yellow and smiled, "Hello Kojak!!"

His name was Maq. It seemed to fit him rather well, though Rene wasn't one to be a good judge of how names fit with their owners. But it was definately a name she could remember, and that's all that mattered right?

Peering around, the feien caught sight of yet another fairy nearing them, a different one than rest. This one was dark skinned, as she was, but he just seemed different somehow. She liked his hair though. It was poofy. Looked like it was probably pretty soft. But she pried her attention from the newcomer. It seemed rude to just stare, and she didn't want to seem rude to anyone.

All this time, Aria's conversation was lost on her. Rene hadn't heard a word of it at all. But Hitomi's bright voice greeting the newcomer brought Rene out of her silence, if only enough to make her appear like she'd been listening the whole time, instead of thinking.

"Near twin?" The idea struck something in Maq, but he wasn't qute able to figure out what. "You've got a near twin?"

The arrival of yet another juvi made Maq wonder if there had been some sort of meeting announcement that he'd missed last time he was here. The faint furrow that had begun to creep over his face at the "near twin" issue smoothed as he smiled at the newcomer, and a male at that. Would that mean there'd be some competition now? Damn, but Maq hoped so. He was aching for a good fight.

"Hitomi, Aria, hello." Kojak finally reached his destination, still hovering a bit to get in a little more practice with his flying. He smiled at the both of them, that charming smile. "It's good to see you two again."

Of course, he eventually did land and a smile was given in the direction of the other two. Particularly since it looked like the other one had been paying attention to him. His tail swished from side to side before curling around his leg briefly.

His gaze focused on the other male, the first one that he had seen, and he peered at him intently for a moment before looking to the other girl -- the brightly colored one. "Kojak's my name, and it's a pleasure to meet you two." Of course, he meant the new he didn't know. ( Apparently manners when it came to introductions was the one thing Wren got into his brain so far. )

Hitomi felt her face flush again and she suddenly got very jittery again. She was feeling fine just a moment ago. She sprocket that followed her in apparently felt the change of emotion and whirred a bit closer to her. Hitomi snapped her head to look at it and it seemed to back off a bit. "Hello Kojak, it's great to see you again." She looked to Aria, "And you too. I had fun last night meeting you guys!"

Aria nodded, frowning as she recalled Q. "She's shorter than I am, not by much though. Long blue hair, large blue dragon wings, her marking are blue, like mine, but circles." Of course Aria would refer to her wings as dragon wings and not bat. "She never told me her name, but she had the prettiest bloom with her...kinda friendly, but not, you know?"

She glanced up at him, nuzzling in close. She hoped this near twin wouldn't come and take her Maq from her. Well, Maq wasn't actually hers, but she liked thinking he was. Other than Ian, there really wasn't others she was sort close too.

"My name is Reneeka." Nodding towards Kojak, she acknowledged his name, staring at him maybe a little too long, but with innocent intent. So she could put a name with a face later on. Though she did happen to notice his tail and pondered about that for a moment....

Aria's description of another feien caught her attention, and she listened carefully. So far she hadn't encountered any such feien, but it would be good to know what others might be out there.

The strangest thing happened then, at least for anyone who had ever known Maq. As realization dawned on him, his bright orange eyes narrowed, blazing almost dangerously. This was the only emotion that showed, however, while his smile slipped away to near nothingness. He spoke softly, more of Aria's benefit than any of the others. "That would have been Quantel."

Humming Beethoven's Ninth, Emperial wandered into the shop as if her presence there was somehow a happy accident. This could not have been further from the truth.

Nestled into her hand and trembling almost violently from cold and fear, Luun began to doubt that he could go through with this. Not that he'd thought he could in the first place. Emperial had insisted.

"You want to do a breeding?" she had said. "Then we'll go to the shop and find two feien to help you. Everything'll be just fine!"

And Luun dearly, dealy wished he could believe her, but as he began to make out the noise of feien voices he only wanted to crawl deep down into Emperial's shirt and bury himself there where no one would find him.

Instead, Emperial called out a greeting to the other feien, mindful to shield Luun lest the little fellow faint. "Afternooon everyone!"

Aria looked at him, blinking. She was a little unnerved by his expression. "You know her?" she asked, her voice soft in return. Judging by his expression, she wasn't one he liked.

Looking up as she saw the shop owner enter, she grinned. "Hi Em!"

It looked like the two adults were focused on one another and Kojak only spared them a brief glance before letting them be. They looked attached to one another, in some way.

Seeing the flush on Hitomi's face, he did his best to not grin widely, but briefly looked curiously at the thing that was hovering about her. "It was fun. Particularly to get out of the house." Kojak shook his head before focusing on Reneeka. So she was the one that Hitomi had painted in the picture. "You're Reneeka? Hitomi spoke about you last night." A little bit, at least. She was brighter than he imagined, but it was cool.

Of course, at the sight of somebody else entering, he turned and looked towards them. His tail loosened and swished as he smiled in greeting, looking at the person curiously.

"Hello!" said Em, about to tack on Aria's name, only she had managed to forget it. "Maquinar, uhhh.... everyone."

Hitomi looked up as she saw someone MUCH larger than herself. It was defiantley a person like Mamma and Auntey Whitey, but this guy was different. Mamma had told her about this lady. She was in charge of the shop and she was the lady who saved the Feien. Hitomi fluttered up a bit higher, the lady had something in her hand and she wanted to know what it was. After fluttering abotu a foot higher Hitomi could see that it was a small boy who was a very pretty shade of blue. And he was shaking. She had hopes that he would come over and chat with them. It was always fun meeting new people.

Reneeka couldn't help but notice the change in Maq, and wondered why exactly he would react thusly to knowing whom Aria was speaking of. But she didn't want to pry, nor did he seem like he really wished to talk about it, so she wasn't going to be the one to implore futher on the subject.

Kojak wasn't the only one curious about the larger person entering. It wasn't like Rene hadn't seen other people similar to her bond, but this one held her interest for a moment before the fairy remembered that she'd been spoken to. "Hitomi spoke of me? I hope it was all good things." This time was Reneeka's turn to blush.

Spotting Em, Maq grinned again, Quantel momentarily forgotten. The chick didn't matter much, anyway. He lifted a hand in greeting. "Hey, Em! Long time no see!" Come to think of it, he couldn't remember having seen the woman since he grew. Guess his coloring made him easier for humans to remember, regardless of his size.

He nodded a bit to Aria, adding out of the corner of his mouth before he forgot, "Quantel is Tera's other Feien. You might want to steer clear of her."

Aria nodded, making a note of it. If Maq said to steer clear of her, she would. She trusted Maq. "I will," she said, smiling up to him, nuzzling into him. She wondered why Em was here, as she never seemed to be while Aria was. Maybe they had always missed each other.

"All good things and a painting of you she did," Kojak spoke to her, grinning and glancing at her out of the corner of his eye. He winked at her briefly before nodding his head towards Em -- since everyone was calling her that ( which meant was she the one that Wren and Halo had mentioned to him? ) -- as she looked just as curious as he was.

"Hello," Kojak said smoothly, still watching Em, and then looking up at Hitomi who was trying to get a flying feien's eye view of things it looked like.

"Say," said Emperial, addressing the gaggle of feien at large, "I'm looking for a pair of feien who might be interested in breeding. Does anyone know where I can find some?" In her cupped hands, Luun quaked and quivered, barely daring to even peek at the feien assemblage.

Oh my god... Aria thought. That's Ian and I!

"Em! I am wanting to breed! But Ianios is at home! It won't take me too long to go get him!" she cried out, unlatching herself from Maq. Granted, if Maq had asked, she'd have said yes in a heartbeat. But he hadn't, so she was going to go get Ian.

"I'll return shortly!" Launching herself from the countertop, she flew out the door, as fast as she could go.

Maq was damned glad now that Tera had made him go to the shop for Quantel. After her big speech about wanting to breed with him, she'd be all over Em at the moment, and another bloom was the last thing Q needed in her possession. After all, he was still coming up with ways to get the spiky thing away from her.

Aria, though. He was more than happy that now she was getting her chance. As she zipped away, he grinned widely. "She's been looking forward to this for a while now," he supplied for Em's benefit.

Hitomi strains to keep herself aloft as she ever so slowly drifts back down to the table. She quickly scampers back over to Reneeka and Kojak and smiles, "There's a little boy in her hand. He's blue. And he has no wings. He looks very scared."

"Wow," blinked Em, looking down at Luun. "That was easy." Luun whimpered something that might have been a word of agreement, but might have just been a random convulsion.

Em shrugged slightly and made her way around the counter to sit and await Aria's return.

"A painting of me? I'm quite flattered..." No one had ever done a painting of her before, but then too, it never occured to her that maybe the fact that she was a rather new face around here might have something to do with that.

Looking up towards the one called 'Em', Reneeka offered her own greetings. "Hello there." She was curious as well to know what was cupped in Em's hands, but didn't know if she should investigate. By the way the hands were held, it appeared that the person was protecting, in some way shape manner or form, whatever was in them. That alone told Rene that maybe she should just stay where she was, and she'd find out eventually, maybe.

Aria's zipping out of the room barely caught the brightly colored feien's attention though, as Hitomi returned to them. "A little boy? Very scared? Oh the poor thing!" Reneeka could sympathize with being really scared. She herself had been quite... frightened when she first came to the shop. "I do hope he's alright..."

Aria returned within a few minutes, actually exhausted. She had gotten home, explained things in a complete rush to Ian, then headed back out. Ian wasn't far behind her.Once she set down on the counter, he buzzed in. Aria's excitement had gotten to him as well. His heart was pounding so hard, he was sure everyone could hear it.

He landed down beside Aria, who was in the process of hugging Maq once again.
"I''m going to have blooms!" she cried.

Ianios smirked. "Well, I'm here." He smiled at Em and waved. "Howdy!" He had heard from Aria on the flight over that she was shop owner and she could help them breed. It was finally happening. He hoped Cel was alright with this, where ever he was.

The mentioning of breeding was vaguely interesting to Kojak, never mind the response in brought out of Aria and the speed in which she disappeared. Of course, it was something he only thought about briefly before turning to look at Hitomi and Reneeka.

"Yes, it was bright, like you." Kojak grinned, looking at Hitomi as she touched back down and shared the information about which Em was hiding within her hands. Another feien? Another young boy like himself? Protecting him from them perhaps? It seemed that way since he hadn't been revealed and Hitomi mentioned shaking. Speaking of which ...

"Thanks for sharing, Hitomi." Kojak gave her another smile, but his eyes cut back to Em. He didn't know quite else what to say, but he nodded in agreement with Reneeka's words absently. Perhaps he wasn't fond of crowds?

Em smiled at the nearby feien but quickly turned her attention to Luun. "We're all done here, and we'll be back home soon," she murmured, storking Luun's back gently with her thumb. The motion did not seem to reassure him in the slightest.

Maq laughed and returned Aria's hug. "That's right! And I couldn't think of a better pair for it."

Aria grinned, smiling. "Thanks, Maq!" She hovered up a bit and kissed him. Then turning to Em, she grinned. "We're ready!"

Ianios nodded. "As we'll ever be!" he added, smiling.

"Breeding. Wow, Mamma said I shouldn't talk about that until I was older. This should be interesting." Her eyes wandered around as she blushed a bit.

"I did a painting of you Reneeka, but I left it at home. Maybe I'll bring it by next time and leave it here so I don't forget it again. And I'll write my address on the back so you can keep it and not forget. I forget a lot of stuff too so it's okay." After seeing Aria zip out and then quickly return with the plant boy she smiled. This must be the one she was blooming with.

"Well, let's head out then," said Em, standing back up and heading for the door. "Nice to see everyone! Have a nice day!" She would have waved, but to do so would deprive Luun of some of his protection.

Aria and Ianios followed, waving to the others. They couldn't wait for this! Both were grinning widely. "Bye!" called Aria as she flew out behind Em.

Maq waved as Aria left, then turned back to the case. He really needed to get these things for Q and get back, before Tera got to worried.

Rynn dropped her things on her bed, tired after her long day of work. Usually Aria or Ianios greeted her once home, but neither were to be seen. Spying Lilyana on the couch, curled up with another book, she wandered over. "Lily?"

The maien looked up, marking her spot with her finger. "Yes?"

"Have you seen Aria or Ian?" Not that she was worried. They usually went off to the shop or outside doing things. Worrying came days later, when neither had been seen.

Lilyana nodded. "I had, actually, yesterday. Aria came zipping home, babbling something about breeding to Ianios and they both took off."

Rynn blinked. "They had mentioned breeding before...." She trailed off, thinking. So there were to be new blooms about. It would be quite fun to have another one to raise, even if Aria and Ian did most of the raising. "Alright, I suppose I shouldn't worry over them. They're grown. They can take care of themselves."

"Mmhmm," came Lilyana's reply. She was back into her book, paying Rynn no mind.

The dragoness only smirked, heading towards the bathroom. The feien would come home soon, she was sure. She couldn't wait to meet their little ones.

Monday Jan 24

Quote:
Maq approached the house at a leisurely pace, though his mind wasn't quite as at ease. Considering how excited both Aria and Ian had been about the breeding, he was surprised that he hadn't heard from Aria about how it had gone, or about whatever they had ended up bringing home. Between Tera's recent outbursts, Quantel's obsession with the new bloom, and the disappearances of even more Feien, Maq couldn't help but be a little concerned.

He found himself more so when he flew around the perimeter, only to find no one about. Generally Aria could be found outside, and if not her, then Ian.

Finding no one, Maq realized he would have to actually knock on the
front door for once. Dropping out of the air to come onto a level with the door, he did so, bringing his fist as hard as he could against the wood in an effort to ensure that he was heard by anyone inside.

"Be right there!" called a male voice. There was a loud curse that could be heard through the door, the sound of someone falling, then the door flew open. Naaro stood there, dusting himself off. His red hair was in a mess, his hand smoothing it down. He glanced around, then looked down.

"Can I help you?" he asked, spying the feien. Was this one of Aria's or Ian's buddies?

Maq smiled, attempting to look friendly, which wasn't actually hard. He gave this guy a quick glance over, then nodded. "I'm Maq. I'm here looking for Aria."

Naaro smirked slightly. "Aria, eh? She's spoken of you. Come on in." He moved, allowing Maq to enter. In the living room was a small pixa horde, running around. Naaro was shaking his head as a couple ran over his feet.

"Guys...go to one part of the room and stay there. I'm not wanting to step on you!" he called out to the pixas. Looking back to Maq, he gestured. "Down the hall, to the left. The bedroom is where you'll find Aria."

Grinning at the antics of the Pixas, Maq nodded. "Thanks!" He turned on wingtip and headed off down the hall, glancing around as he went. Different from Tera's place, *much* more different from Irisa's... Hell, it
was different from any of the houses he had been in. They all were so different, and he couldn't help but be amused by that.

Reaching the doorway to the room, he flew inside. "Hey, Blue Eyes!" he called out, expecting to see her as soon as he got in.

There was a desk on the right once you entered the room. In a bowl floated a blue bloom, and nearby there was a green leaf on a patch of grass and sticks. There wasn't anyone else in the room, save for a grey fairy on the bed, reading a book bigger than she. She looked up when Maq called.

"Blue eyes?" she said. "If you're looking for Ian or Aria, they're on the desk."

On the desk? All he saw on the desk were two blooms. Maq looked quizzically at the grey fairy, wondering if it were attempting to play some sort of joke on him. After all, he really hadn't seen that many blooms in his existence, and the idea that Aria and Ian may have reverted to bloom status was the furthest from his mind.

"I'm looking for Aria..." he started. "The name's Maq; I'm an old friend of hers, and I thought I'd come check out the blooms she and Ian made."
Maq's right hand came up to scratch behind his ear as he thought about it. "All those came from the two of them?"

Lilyana laughed, her face alight. "No, Maq," she said. "Aria is the blue bloom, and Ianios is the green leaf. Rynn said they reverted back to their bloom stage." Granted, she didn't understand it all either, but it was fun seeing his confusion.

Maq's first thought was that something must have gone wrong, if they went
back to being blooms, but this girl didn't seem to be worried about it. Nodding his head, he started moving towards the desk. "Thanks," he said as he went.

When he landed, Maq took a closer look at the two blooms. Even if he hadn't been told which was which, it would have been easy enough to figure out. Aria's bloom intrigued him the most, seeing as how he always remembered he being a full-sized adult Feien. He gave the other one only the most perfunctory of looks, not having known Ian all that well, before he moved to the bowl.

"You did good, Blue Eyes," he murmured, as he reached out to touch the
bloom gently, causing the water around it to ripple.

The bloom curled around his hand, as if the feien inside understood what he said. It shook slightly, as if Aria was happy he had come.

Maq smiled at that, fingers stroking her petal. A part of him wondered if she would remember any of this when she came back out. "Just really came to see how you were doing; guess this answers my question, huh?" Then he laughed softly; did he really expect an answer from a bloom? "I'll make sure I come back after you come out, if you don't..."

Trailing off, he looked in the direction of the grey fairy. "Hey, um... I didn't catch your name."

She smirked. "Lilyana is my name. I'm a maien." She closed her book, flying over to look at him. She was much shorter so she had to look up. "If you're a close friend, why didn't you breed with her, hmm? Why Ian?"

Lilyana was the curious sort. She knew Maq pretty well, from Aria's speaking of him, but wondered why he never offered.

Maq shrugged at that. "I'm not into the whole breeding thing, really." It had never really occurred to him to offer, especially since Aria had said Ian was more than willing. With a grin an a thumb gestured to the pair of blooms, he asked, "After seeing what happened to them, can you really blame me?"

Lilyana shook her head. "I don't suppose it's all that bad. One might come
out with a mutation, Rynn said. I think they're just resting." She shrugged.
"Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to get some lunch." She would offer, but she wasn't the overly friendly type. Sort of like Q, but without the
conniving part under her motives.

She flew from the room, leaving Maq alone with the blooms.

Well, ********. He had wanted to ask if she could make sure to tell Aria something for him, but that was pretty much screwed now. It wasn't that he didn't want to spend time with Aria's bloom, just more that he couldn't think of anything he could do with a bloom. When Q was a bloom, Tera had pretty much done everything for her, and now with the new bloom, Q was doing everything for it.

Looking back at Aria's bloom, he poked it lightly with his finger, almost in a tickling fashion. "All this private time, and nothing to show for it." Maq laughed out loud, the sound rolling around the room.

The bloom curled around his hand, shivering as if Aria was laughing with him. On the left of the bloom where was a piece of paper and a container of pencil leads for a mechanic pencil. He could always write out what he wants to say.

As he continued to tickle the bloom lightly, amused at its reactions, Maq noticed the paper and leads to the left. Ah, good. He wouldn't have to leave without word after all. His hand left the bloom long enough for him to be able to retrieve a piece of paper and a bit of lead.

The bloom curled and uncurled, shivering slightly, the petals shaking. It stopped moving as soon as his hand left, the petals drooping slightly. It almost seemed disappointed he had left.

He scrawled a message on the paper, then tossed the lead back in the container from which he'd gotten it. Straightening up, he looked back at the bloom, then blinked at its dejected appearance. "Aw, come on, Blue Eyes," he chided softly, reaching back out to smooth a drooping petal. "You know I can't stay here forever..."

The bloom seemed to perk at his touch. It shivered, one of the stamens seeming to nod. The petal he curled around his hand, just touching him before he left.

As he pulled away, he tucked the note beneath the bowl, where it would easily be seen when Aria emerged again. With one last pat, he did leave, eager to get home and share this news with Tera.

Rynn came back from the kitchen with her sandwich in hand. Looking to where Ian and Aria's blooms where, she nearly dropped the sandwich in surrpise. Ian was standing there, looking at Aria's bloom. "Why hasn't she come out yet?" he asked, seeing his bond standing there.

Rynn couldn't say a word. Just a few short minutes ago, Ianios himself was still in his bloom state. Finally, the power of speech returned to her. "I...I don't know," was all she could get out.

It was quite odd. Ianios hadn't changed at all, and he was younger, but he came out first. He looked at her, confused himself. "Is she alright in there?"

Rynn could only nod. He looked at the bloom, then flew up to Rynn's shoulder. "Did we have any blooms? I don't see any." He landed, sitting down on her.

"I'm sure you did. Perhaps they weren't ready to be delivered yet." She offered him a bite of her sandwich, which he took. "Don't worry, I'm -" She was cut off by a knock on the door.

She glanced at Ian, smiling. "Maybe that's the blooms?" he asked hopeful, as she hurried to answer it.

Upon opening the door however, she froze. Ian peered at the stranger, expecting Em with his kids' blooms. "Mike!" Rynn cried, throwing her arms around the man. Ian was knocked off by the sudden movement. Luckly, he had wings, so he was able to stop his fall.

The man grinned, hugging the dragoness to him. "How you doing, Darlin'?"

She grinned, ruffling his black hair. "Great! Come on in!" She stepped aside, Ianios hovering around him.

"Who's this?" he asked, landing back on Rynn's shoulder.

She shook her head, mentally smacking herself. "Mike, meet Ianios. Ian, Mike. Old friend here on Gaia."

Mike looked at the feien on her shoulder, blinking. Well, he had a good hair and eye color. But he didn't know about the green. Well, looked to him as a natural pigment of his skin, so nothing the feien could do about it. "What are you?" he asked Ian directly.

"I'm a feien. Plant, to be exact." He puffed up, a bit proud, as he was the only plant element he knew of. Might change when the kids emerge, if there was any.

Mike nodded, glancing back up at Rynn, smirking. "I like him." He reached out, brushing back a lock of her hair. His voice dropped to a rough whisper. "But you know where I stand with you..."

Rynn's eyes dropped, a blush creeping over her face. Ian could feel the heat off her, his eyebrows raised. What went on between these two?

"I know Mike...but..."

"But what?" he asked, his finger over her cheek, slowly, very slowly, rubbing down.

"I found my mate."

Mike stepped back, his blue eyes full of hurt and pain. He knew the whole story, how when he first met Rynn how lonely she was. He warmed himself even more, the anger doing that. She starred at him, moving forward. "Mike...please..."

He growled, his fangs now apparent to even Ian, who was watching unblinking. Was he a dragon too? A black one he hadn't heard of before? "You found him," he nearly spat out.

"Mikey!" Rynn cried, nearly dropping to her knees. Ian was confused now for sure. What was going on?

"The first one I had found in a long time....I hadn't wanted another since...and now you're back with your first love...." Mike was snarling, angry.

"Mikey! It's not exactly like that! He sent me a message...I know I thought he was dead...please...listen to me!" she cried, getting closer. Ian wisely decided to fly off her shoulder. Who knew what would happen?

He stood his ground, Ian somewhat feeling dark magic rolling off him. It made the small feien uneasy. "Listen to what?" Mike said, his eyes narrowing dangerously.

"You know Naaro is my first love, my true love, but I love you too! I never stopped, even after you left..." She was in tears now, confused about all this. It was true, she loved the vampire before her, but now it seemed like a mistake to have ever gotten with him. He was jealous, she knew that.

Mike seemed to soften at that. "You...do?" he asked, confused. Rynn looked at him, confused. He would have never acted like that back a couple of years ago. Maybe he had mellowed out?

"I do. Trust me, Mike..." She sighed, hoping he would clam down enough to listen. He was still her friend, and she wanted to remain that way with him. But that was left to him.

She had never given him any reason not to trust her, he reasoned. She had always been honest. "I..I trust you. You've never lied to me."

Rynn smiled. "Of course not. It's not good to lie in any sort if relationship. I still care for you, I still love you. But that love is more as a friendship kind of love. I want you happy. I want to make you happy. But I also want to be with my mate. I love him as well."

Mike slowly nodded, listening to her. He could tell she meant everything she said. He had spent decades with humans, and other races. He could kind of tell when one was lying by their body lanuage. And hers wasn't twitching. She was making eye contact, where one who lied usually didn't. "I understand. I had just hoped we could have picked up where we left off."

She shook her head. "I'm sorry, but no. Naaro's back...he'd never share me. But we can still remain friends, can't we?"

Ian looked to Mike, having landed up on a shelf, watching the exchange between the two. He wondered what Mike would say. And it was interesting, as Rynn had never told any of them about having another love. She had claimed to always been lonely. Maybe it hadn't worked out between the two and she wanted that part to remain in the past?

The feien didn't have long to wait on an answer, as Mike bit his lower lip, looking to Rynn. Both had seemed to forget he was there.
"I suppose so." Ianios nearly cheered at the sight of Rynn's face breaking into a grin. The couple hugged, and Mike leaned over, whispering something into her ear. Ian was too far away to hear what it was, but she nodded, smiling. So it must have been good.

He flew down to her shoulder once they broke apart. "Congrats," he said, smiling. If his bond was happy, he was happy.

Mike smirked, regaining his composure. "Thanks, Ian."

Rynn glanced to the plant feien on her shoulder. "Why don't you go see if Aria has emerged. Mike and I would like a little time alone, if you don't mind."

It was Ian's turn to smirk. "Alright." With that, he lifted off, heading back to the bedroom, hearing the hushed tones of Rynn and Mike. It was all interesting. He'd be sure to spy on them now!

Rynn snuggled the tiny yellow kitten to her, after dropping off a check to the Pixapet shop. She loved helping out when she could, as Trio always needed some cash to feed the Pixas there. In exchange, she had offered Rynn the little kitten, which she gladly accepted. It was a cute fluff of yellow and sure to get along with the rest of the pixas she had at home.

She named the little one Pluto, after her favorite Sailor Scout. Why? Dunno, she just did.

Opening the door, she whistled, the other pixas coming to her. Even Ian's and Aria's rushed over. She put Pluto down and they all sniffed him, nodding approval. Then they bound off, playing with the newest addition.

Rynn

Ianios flew into the shop, looking for Em. He wanted to know if there had been blooms, and what was talking Aria so long to re-emerge. He was getting worried. Seeing two feien he'd never met before however caused him to settle down on the countertop.

One was pink, with gold and blue hair. She was younger than he, he could tell. The other was green, like he was. How odd...he didn't think there was other green feien at all. And her eyes..they glowed!

Ian blinked. "Hello, Ladies!" he called out, smirking slightly to him.

Shiro Ookami
Patience nodded to Hitomi. She understood it well enough, she would think about it. Maybe she sould try it as well. But her thoughts and a replay was cut short by another feien arriving. She hide her happyness for her luck today for being able to chat with two of them today. Today was a good day.

"Hello. And who might you be?"

Names, names was always a good thing, so she could record it later.

Rynn
Ianios smiled, nodding to the two. "Name's Ianios, but feel free to call me Ian. Everyone else does. I hope I'm not interrupting anything."

He glanced around, the questions he wanted to ask Em still in the back of his mind. But it seemed she was nowhere to be seen.

Shiro Ookami

Patience nodded in return, making it more like a mini box like Shiro always did.

"Hello Ian. My name is Patience. I was just talking with Hitomi. We're just chatting, so your not interupting anything. Though Hitomi is looking for where you sigh up for something in the shop."

Sarabi Adruenna
Hitomi smiled as Ian approached. She has seen him before although it was very brief. He had come in as a green blur when Aria brought him after Luun had shown up. "Hello! I am Hitomi. You had flowers with Aria right?"

Rynn
"I certainly hope so. Aria is home, still in her bloom state. I re-emerged yesterday. But as for the blooms we had...if we had any..." He trailed off. He had no idea if they did in fact even create one bloom.

Sighing, he looked towards the back of the shop. "Excuse me, I want to see of Em's back there." With that, he flew back there.

Shiro Ookami
Patience nodded. Though she really didn't know what he was talking about, she guessed it might have been something about breeding. She remembered Aris re-emerging when she bred. Maybe he was talking about that.

"I hope you find what your looking for Ian."

She said as he flew to check the back. She turned to Hitomi.

"That was a quick visit... Did you find ther paper to sign up yet?"

ZEE DARK TERA
Creep. Creep. Creeeeep... And there they were. Some actual, factual, appearing before her Feien type persons. Heart beginning to race, ZDT slipped into the shop, her hands cupped over the cleft of her bosom, and what was hidden therein.

Shiro Ookami
The movement of something quite larger then herself try to sneak around the shop was not hard to notice. Though she didn't let the bigger form notice that she knew it was there, she was keeping watch of it from the corner of her eye.

ZEE DARK TERA
Large, exaggerated steps brought her closer and closer to the tiny people in question, almost as if she were afraid of frightening them off. The horns on her head quivered excitedly, her hands fluttering up briefly, exposing the bright blue blob that hid in her cleavage, before settling down and hiding it away again.

Shiro Ookami
The person was getting closer. And now it was obvious she was there. Patience turned on her heel and faced her directly. Placing her hands on her hips and staring at her with her glowing yellow eyes, she cocked her head tot he side and adressed her.

"Hello there."

ZEE DARK TERA
Glee! It spoke, it spoke to her, and it had eyes like fire! Crouching down slightly so that she was a little more on par with the teeny one, but looking as if she were fixing to pounce, ZDT spoke in a hoarse stage whisper. "You be a Feien type! A girl, a girl..." Hints of a grin appeared above the top of the scarf swathing the lower half of her face.

Rynn
Ian returned from the back, saddened Em wasn't there. Did they have blooms at all? He blinked, seeing the stange woman. "Hello there," he called out to her.

He landed on the counter, nodding to Patience and Hitomi. "She wasn't there."

Shiro Ookami
Patience's one eye brow rose as she looked at the crouching lady infront of her.

"Yes. I speak. Yes I'm a female, girl feien. You must be a new person, or a new owner to be, eh?"

Patience noticed the bulge in her shirt and the slight glimse of blue earier. When Ian flew back, she gave him a wave, but kept an eye on the larger, er... Person if she could call it that.

"Who were you looking for?"

Patience wondered.

Sarabi Adruenna
Hitomi looked to the large sneaky type woman and furrowed her brow, "What are you doing? It's hard for someone who is huge like you to sneak around. You should try a little harder at being smaller." Hitomi looked around the room and spotted a piece of paper on the wall, "But since you're here would you mind taking me to that sheet of paper? It's way over there and I don't fly very well.

ZEE DARK TERA
So much at once, ZDT looked from one little Feien to the next, and finally at the littlest one at all. So pretty, and so different than the two of the other Tera's... One all a-glow, one a fluff puff of cotton candy, and one that looked for all the world like a jalapeno pepper. What would this thing of hers emerge? What, indeed?

At the request for a ride, ZDT's hands moved away once more from that which hid behind them, cupping forward and offered to the pink one as if paying a penance. She nodded quickly, then breathed, "You I shall take to the paper, yes." As if in after thought, or from the tilt of her head, as if overheard by another, she added, "And no more, take no more." Another flash of white from behind the scarf as she smiled.

Rynn
Ian blinked at the strange woman. He was confused by her, but she seemed friendly, in a odd sort of way.

But his thoughts were on the blooms he and Aria might have made. What if there was none? He could not bare that. First Celaien was torn from him, then there might not be any blooms. He sighed, taking a seat on the countertop. How was he to tell Aria, when she re-emeraged?

Sarabi Adruenna
Hitomi walked into her palm and held onto a finger as to stabilize herself. She looked up at the lady, there was something that just wasn't quite right. Hitomi couldn't figure out quite what it was but as long as she didn't try to hurt her it wold be okay. She pointed to the feien sized piece of parchment and said, "There. That one."

ZEE DARK TERA
From her vantage point, Hitomi was most likely to be the first to see the blue burrish chestnut nestled delicately in the bodice of her dress, the tiny spikes on it having left a fine network of scratches on the flesh of her upper chest. With a happy little hum, she carried the Feien over to said Feien-sized piece of paper.

Shiro Ookami
What ever Ian had to talk to Em about, it sure was bugging him that he could not find out. Patience felt bad, but it had been a long time since she had been here, so she knew of nothing that had been going on. So she coulnd't be of to much help. Though maybe she could cheer him up. She walked over, taking her eyes off the lady for a bit and came to sit next to Ian

"You look bummed... Anything you want to talk about?"

Her motherly insticts kicking in, telling her to try to help and comfort the younger Feien.

Rynn
Ian looked up at Patience. Obivously she had noticed his distress at being unable to find out anything about the breeding. He nodded, offering her a seat.

"Aria and I bred...I wanted to know the results of such. If there were any offspring at all. When I re-emerged, I recongized Aria's bloom, having seen it before in a book Rynn keeps on us. But there wasn't a new one about. And I was for certain Aria would re-emerge soon. But she's not come out yet..." He trialed off, looking at his hands. "She's my sister, well, housemate really, though I call her such. I'm just worried...what if there was no blooms, and the breeding was all for not?"

Sarabi Adruenna
As they neared the other side of the room Hitomi fluttered down and wrote her name on the list under the Artifice School of Magic with Simon and Aquaphina. After this was done she flitted back up into ZDT's palm. She spotted the blood covered bloom in her clevage and pointed, "What's that? Will that be a feien? Where did it come from?"

Shiro Ookami
Patience nodded. Now knowing the reason behind his stress. Well, it was understandable. They had bred and they wanted to know if there was a result. It was a logical reason to be upset.

"Well, I am sorry I haven't been around to know. It has been a while since I had last been here. I wish I knew so that I could tell you. Though, from what I heard, I don't think that there has been a breeding so far that wasn't sucsessful with atleast one. Do you know how they select owners for bred blooms?"

She wondered, maybe if she knew how they got the owners, they might be able to find out who might know who has them or who might also know besides Em.

Rynn
Ianios shook his head. "Not really. I heard Rynn saying once she had a couple of people she promised future blooms too, but none have come by in the last day to say thanks. At least I haven't heard from any."

ZEE DARK TERA
At Hitomi's questioning, ZDT glanced downward and saw that the bloom was indeed exposed. A startled hand moved up to protect it once more, even though she nodded. "Yes, yes, zee bloom is mine!" A trill of slightly off laughter followed, only to be caught suddenly short. The addition to her response was much more serious. "A gift, indeed, from one who took all else... The great Tera said it came from two who bred, two of you who came and led."

Her head tilted to one side, listening. As a shiver ran through her, she quickly shifted the pink Feien from her palm to a safe surface nearby. "ZDT must go, must flee! THEY grow hungry..."

Turning abruptly on heel, she fled the shop, as if chased by the demons of hell themselves.

Shiro Ookami
Patience thought for a while. No one had stopped in, so he doesn't know if there was any.

"Well, you said you just emerged right? Well How long were you out for, maybe everyone came when you were still a bloom. Is there any way you can tlak to your bond? Maybe they will know."

Patience tried to sound hopeful. There had to be someone who knew, maybe he just was in bloom form when they had come for the other blooms.

Rynn
Ianios turned suddenly, hearing the strange woman speak of two who had bred. She had one of his blooms, as he knew none others who had bred! He bolted after her, only to find she had vanished once out the door. He sighed, having hoped to have seen the bloom, then smiled. At least there was one bloom. He and Aria had helped give at least one new life to the feien race.

He went back to Patience and sat back down. "Well, at least now I know of one owner," he said with a smile.

Sarabi Adruenna
As ZDT fled from the room Hitomi fell from her hand. She caught herself with her wings before she hit the floor. That lady was weird. She would try to avoid her later. She fluttered back up to where the other two were. "That lady was weird. She has a bloom though. It was blue. She said it came from a breeding. It was sharp and pointy and was making her bleed. She had to go though." Like she hadn't said anyhing of importance, Hitomi alighted on the table and sat down. She had signed up for the Artificers, but she didn't really feel any different. Was she supposed to?

Shiro Ookami
Patience nodded towards Ian. He had found out about one of them. so now he had good news to tell Aria when she emerged. And hopefully it bought up his spirits now. Once Hitomi came back, Patience noticed she was dirty from the landing. She flew over and landed behind the younger feien.

"Are you alright? You fell."

Patience went to inspecting Hitomi to amke sure she was alright, and also fussed and dusted her off.

Rynn
Ianios nodded. "I heard." He was smiling, happy at the news. "Did you see it though? Other than the color? What did it look like?"

Sarabi Adruenna
"I think I'm alright. It was just very rude of her to just run out and drop me like that. Very unlady like." Thinking it nothing more than just another bloom she told Ian, "It looked like a blue ball, except spikey. Not one that would be fun to play with. It was blue, but darker blue than Aria." She shruged, "Why is it so important? Did you know her?"

Rynn
Ian grinned, his whole features alight with joy. "It's one of the blooms Aria and I created. We're the one ones I have heard of lately that bred. I'm sure of it! And spiky, hmm?"

Interesting, he thought. A blue ball with spikes. He'd have to ask Rynn what that bloom could be.

Shiro Ookami
Undaunted by her saying she was ok, Patience was going to make sure that she was. She fussed over and took some extra time to running her hands through her two colored hair, pulling bit of floor lint out of it. After a minute or two of fussing, Patience seemed happy enough to back off. She wanted to continue until Hitomi pushed her away, but she didn't know the girl well enough to subject her to one of her combing sessions she always used to give to Tosten. Though his hair was much more of a wreck then any Feien she had ever seen.

"Congrats Ian. Now you know you got one bloom atleast out of it, there could be more."

Rynn
"Aye, that I do. I will have to ask Rynn about the others. I hope there are others." He frowned, sonthing puzzling him. "Why do you suppose Rynn didn't keep one of our offspring? Or was it simply not ready to be delivered?"

That now burned at him. Surely she would have wanted one.

Shiro Ookami
'Well, maybe it hasn't arrived yet. I hear some blooms take a while to arrive. But don't worry. I bet it's on it's way. It would make sense that your bond would have wanted one too."

Patience thought. If she had a breeding, she would make sure Shiro kept atleast one. But as much as she would like a breeding, she really didn't have to many people she knew that she would breed with.

Rynn
The plant feien nodded. "Makes sense. Thanks." He looked to her. "Are you a plant feien, by chance?" He was asking because of her coloring.

Sevviekun
Sevviekun slipped nervously into the shop, looking about curiously as he went. He hadn't been here before, but he thought that perhaps he ought to come visit and see if there were any feien about to talk to about his bloom - er, leaf. Said leaf was settled in a shallow dish of water, floating idly on top.

Shiro Ookami
His question wasn't one she expected, though she didn't mind answering the question.

"No, I didn't know there was a plant element. I am an Earth element though. Atleast as much as I could tell. Shiro said I was called an Earth feien. Aparently he also said that there weren't many earth feiens."

Some motion got her eye. She looked over and there was another person sneaking around. Did they actually think they were hiding being that big?

Rynn
Ian glanced to the newcomer. "Hey!" he said, waving the human over. "What have you there?"

Sevviekun
Stiffening suddenly as the green feien called him, he forced himself to relax and slink over to the two. "It's my bloom, well, leaf," he explained, setting the dish down on the counter. "Would either of you happen to know Rynn?"

Shiro Ookami
Curious at how a bloom looked, Patience strolled over and leaned to look at the bloom. It was a cute little leaf. And younge feiens came from plants like this. Interesting. She so wanted to take care of one, but something told er to keep away when Nekota had gotten his second. That bloom turned out to be a menice. She was both upset and happy she never ran into him before Nekota left Hurog. But should would ahve to tlak to Shiro to get her a bloom of her own to take care of.

Rynn

Ianios blinked. So here was one who knew his bond! He got up quickly, hurrying over to see the leaf, his bloom, he knew it. He grinned to Patience. "Look, it's another one of my blooms! That makes 2!" He was beside himself with joy.

Calming down, he hugged Patience. "Earth, huh? Close to plant! I bet you got nifty powers!"

He looked back to Sevvie and bowed, once letting Patience go. "Rynn's my bond!"

Sevviekun
"Really?" he said, grinning happily. "I know Rynn! She talks about you and her other feien, Aria, a lot. I'm happy to meet you, especially as you're one of mine's parents."

Shiro Ookami
Patience was not prepared for a hug. It caught her off guard and she almost didn't hear what Ian said after that. Hugs are good. A bit odd, but hugs are good. Patience smiled, he was happy. It makes sense that Ian was happy about finding another bloom on his.

"I am slowly learning how to use my magic. But so far the only thing I can do is make my skin harder. I came today to maybe look at some other spells to give them a try."

Sevviekun
Sevvie's attention was caught by the girl feien. "Magic spells? Could my feien learn those too?" If so, he was bound and determined to get a copy of the spell listings.

Sarabi Adruenna
Hitomi looked around herself, she had done what she had come here to do. She had hoped she had done it correctly. But now it was time to start getting home. It was getting late and she needed to get home before dark because chances of her getting lost were greater after dark. She saw the new man come in and as eager as she was to meet new people she did need to get home. "It was great meeting you guys." She turned to Ian and said, "If Aria comes out of her bloom tell her that I missed her today! Patience, it was nice meeting you today. We'll have to talk again later!" She fluttered out the window and off into the night.

Rynn
Ianios nodded, trying hard to focus attention on both feien. He waved to Hitomi as she left. "I can make plants grow, but that's it," he said with a smile.

He grinned to Sevvie. "She does? Cool! I'll have to tell her you came by!" He glanced at the leaf. He was wondering if it would be a son or a daughter. At least he knew he or she would be blue eyed and black haired, like he. But so far all the blooms he had so far were blue. Did Aria's color knock out his own?

Shiro Ookami
Patience looked up at the new owner and nodded.

"Yeah, may Feiens have magic. Tosten, who was one a house mate, he used alot of air spells and things like that. I think there is a book here listing all the known 'spells' that feiens seem to be able to do."

Patience looked around and then spotted the book that she had found before with Tahki. She flew over and pointed at it.

"That's the book, I'm pretty sure."

She heard Hitomi say her goodbyes and turned to wave as she left. She darted forward so she could yell.

"Get home safe!"

Sevviekun
"That's a pretty nifty talent. I have what you might call a purple thumb - I can kill any plant at all, which doesn't bode well for my poor feien. Killed a cactus once because I didn't water it enough," Sevvie admitted, blushing a touch. "That's part of why I'm here, to make sure I don't hurt the poor thing."

Sevviekun
Sevvie saw where she'd pointed the book out, and made a mental note to get a copy for his feien - whenever he or she emerged.

Shiro Ookami
"Well, surely if the father is a plant element, I don't think that the bloom itself would be that easy to kill."

Patience offered her thought. It made sense to her atleast.

Rynn
Ian blinked. Hurt his child? "If you don't anything, the feien inside will be fine.Otherwise, you can try experiments, but I don't think doing anything outside of extreme will harm him or her."

Sevviekun
Reassured by the comments, he sat crosslegged on the ground. That put him below the counter, but he preferred it to standing up for so long. "Well I knew you were a plant, and that Aria's a water, so I figured since both plants and water elements would like water, this would be the safest route to go. I have a little terrarium at home with some grass in it that it stays in as well..."

Shiro Ookami
Thinking about the book, she flew over to it. With a bit of a huff, she turned the book open and looked over the front page. She wanted to know something that maybe she could practice next that might be in her element. Though she was still listening to Ian and the new guy who had come with one of Ian's blooms.

Rynn
Ian grinned. "Then he or she should be very happy!" He had liked laying on the patch of grass Rynn had brought in and the twigs. "Wonder if it'll be like me? Might have to give up having private time. I love to explore."

He looked over to Patience. "Trying to find spells for yourself?" he asked.

Sevviekun
"I hope you're right," Sevvie said, smiling. "I'm certainly trying, at least." He looked around the shop avidly, seeing what other sorts of interesting books or papers might be posted in here.

Shiro Ookami
Patience looked up at Ian.

"Yeah, I'm looking for any general spells if there are any, and any earth spells. Last time me and Tahki spend a while looking, so I think I rememeber where it is. I want to take some notes on how it is described and see if I can try to see if I can do any of them. I might, I might not."

Rynn
Ian nodded. "Sounds interesting. I wonder of Earth feien can do plant spells? Seems like they could."

He looked to Sevvie. "Well, he or she sould be good to go. You'll make a wonderful bond."

Sevviekun
Sevvie nearly wagged his tail at the praise, but refrained, keeping it tightly curled about his legs. "Thanks, you don't know how much that means to me," he said, smiling gratefully. He stood then, determined to investigate the shop and unable to keep his curiousity at bay any longer.

Shiro Ookami
Patience finally came across the Earth element page. She had forgotten her note pad and flew over to the counter. She searched for a bit and found it. She was happy she found it, or Morgan would have been upset at her. She flew over and placed the pad down so she could take notes.

"I don't exactly know if I can do any of these spells, but I plan to try to do them and maybe I will be able to. But they only give a general description of what it is, and not how to do it. So I will ahve to figure this out myself. I looked for a while, a bit ago to find a magic teacher, but I was not sucessful. So i am trying it on my own."

Rynn
Ian nodded, listening to Patience. "Makes sense." But really his attention was on the leaf in the bowl. He reached out, petting it gently with his hand, hoping for a reaction. "I'm your father," he whispered to it. "Glad to meet you."

Sevviekun
The leaf shivered a little and curled around the edges, as if curious and happy. Sevvie, his attention on the variety of things made for feien in the cupboard, didn't notice the exchange at all.

Shiro Ookami
Patience pretended to be fullying taking notes, but she was watching him and his bloom he and Aria had made. It was so cute. He looked like he would be a good father to any of the other blooms if his owner had indeed take one for herself.

Rynn
The plant feien's face broke out into a wide grin as the leaf curled up some. He gently caressed the leaf, dying to know if the feien inside was a male or a female. He was guessing Sevvie was going to name them once they emerged, but Ian felt weird called his children its. "I think I'll call you Leafy for now," he whispered. "Your mother called me that, so I will give you that nickname. I don't know if you're going to be male or female, and I don't want to call you an it. So Leafy will do."

Sevviekun
The leaf paused for a moment, as if considering the nickname, then shivered happily again, drifting peacefully in its dish.

Shiro Ookami

Patience finished her notes and made she the book was placed back closed and how she found it. Then she flew over to where Ian was. She sat crosslegged by the edge of the bowl and looked in. She had never really seen to many blooms, so she was interested.

"How do young feiens fit in some of these blooms... I always wondered that."

Sevviekun

Sevvie, hearing the question, stopped to ponder that as well. "Especially the leaves," he said, laughing a little. "A bit flat for a feien to fit inside."

Rynn
Ianios shrugged. "I have no idea myself. I was a flat leaf like Leafy here. How I fitted inside I don't have a clue. If feien came from fruit I could understand, but not flowers and leaves."

He had no idea there were feien who's blooms were fruit!

Shiro Ookami
Patience nodded. She doesn't remember coming out of her bloom, and Shiro wasn't there to know what happened when she was born, if that is the word to call it. Summoned she guessed.

"Yeah, I wonder."

karma_k

A white winged form settled on the sill and hesitated, noting the others, before venturing inside. Talon saw no one that he recognized right off the bat which went both ways -- on one hand, it meant these people were strangers, and on the other hand, it meant that at least there was no one here that he knew would annoy him right off the bat.

He was in need of a new rapier or weapon of some sort, the green one he'd had since he was younger had finally broken off at the tip and was now useless...not that he ever used it for much more than an insect skewer in the first place, but he'd grown accustomed to having it. And what if he DID need it one day, after all?

Doing his best to be unobtrusive, noticing the present feien and human were currently engaged in discussion, he glided to the display case and landed before it, examining the contents as one green-tipped ear twitched now and again.

Rynn
Ian nodded. He was curious as she. How did feien come from plants like Leafy here? What caused them to come out in the first place?

"I know I won't be around to see this one emerge. But should I keep an eye on Aria's and tell you what happens?"

Shiro Ookami
Patience gave that a thought. Well, if Aria was in bloom, maybe she can be the test for how things work.

"Sounds good. Get back to us if you notice her coming out. Though it might happen to quickly for you to notice."

Unlike the earlier big humans that had come in, the feien that had arrived did not draw Patience's attention.

TarnishedHalo

Val hadn't been to the shop to meet new people in a while and she'd heard that there were many new comers she should meet. She'd enjoyed her holiday craftiness and also thought she might find more people to make things for.. or she could collect materials to use.

The juvenile feien hovered into the shop with her hands clasped behind her back. Her eyes were wide and attentive as usual and she wore the usual calm smile. Her tiny gold earrings jingled slightly as she craned her head to see all that were currently in the shop.

WOW.

Quite a few!

Valora Voldemort

A darkness feien entered the shop curiously, after she had not returned in quite some time. Last had been in hopes of seeing Arith, but that did not occur and she doubted it would this time. However, this could be good since she was on a mission. Rislin had disappeared sometime mid-day yesterday and did not return. In worry the young juvenile might be in trouble, Semella had convinced Shux that they should go in search of her, because after all, she was still so small.

'How do we know that she's here? Honestly, she's getting on my last nerve.' Shux ranted more to herself. The time feien's behaviour counteracted her own feelings so often that she began to wonder if she should even keep contact with the young feien.

Semella frowned after following her companion into the shop. She was more sympathetic to Rislin's behaviour, even though she herself could not remember being a juvenile at all. With a clawed finger twisting a bit of violet hair she spoke: 'Hisa, you need to work out these issues you have with Rizzy. A rift in the household will only being more disasters later.'

Shiro Ookami
Patience heard talking, and turned. There was a few more feiens enterering the shop. Today was such a good day. One of the feiens looked familiar, but she coulnd't tell. She had meet Shux before, but never saw her aftr she had grown up. Patience turned and greeted the new people entering.

"Hello all. Nice Night we are having."

Talon's yellow eyes crawled over the slight assortment of weaponry the shop had to offer. There were more rapiers just like the one he'd had in a variety of colors, bee stingers, pebbles, a spear...but none of them struck a chord in him....the spear seemed like a better bet than the rapier since it had much more room to grip it (and with his strange finger placement, that was a definite plus), but he imagined his lack of speed would make weilding it a clumsy operation at best.

He scooped up one of the pebbles from a box on the counter and hefted it in his palm a few times, testing its weight. He imagined he could likely throw one a great distance if he tried with the force he could put behind it. The problem with pebbles, though, was once you threw one, it was lost and you were left without a weapon.

Instead, he narrowed his eyes, his hand enveloping itself in a white glow as the pebble cupped in his palm began to sag and grow soft. Idly, he began to fashion the pebble into a conical point, much like the bee stingers, just to see if he was able.

Hearing a faint but rather noticeable jingling, he looked briefly over his shoulder at the newcomer and then back to the case again. No one he recognized.

In turning back, he entirely missed Semella and Shux's arrival.

Rynn
Ianios looked up from the bowl which in rested Leafy when he heard two new voices. More and more feien seemed to be heading in. He smirked. "Greetings!" he called out to all the newcomers. He looked them all over, trying to remember if he had met all of these. Honestly, he couldn't recall.

Valora Voldemort
Shux turned her attention to the feien who had greeted herself and Semella. The markings were familiar. 'Hello. Quite indeed a lovely evening.' The closer she walked to the feien, the more she realized where she had seen her. 'Patience?' She began laughing, considering the last time they had their incounter, Shux still had a fear of crowds.

Semella followed closely, but only smiled softly.

karma_k
Talon cringed a bit at Ian's shout of greetings and looked silently in his direction, lowering the white shroud his wings had been providing him. Something about the green feien stirred recognition in him but...for the life of him, he couldn't place it.

If he'd met him, it had been long ago, back when he was a child and used to frequent the shop much more. He...

And then it clicked. Oh yes....Ianios, often accompanied by Aria, the first two feien he'd ever met. Though, Ian had been a child last he'd seen him....which was forever ago.

He nodded in greeting to the blue-eyed feien and remained where he was. Merging had made him noticeably more polite in the presense of others, but it still hadn't done much for his social skills

Shiro Ookami
The other adult feien aprouching her was laughing, this confused Patience very much. She was trying to figure out who this was. Obviously she knew who she was. Then again Patience had not met many Feiens, so it didn't take to long to remember the darker feien.

"Shux? Is that you? You certainly have grown up. Nice to see you again, but why are you laughing?"

TarnishedHalo
Val saw Ian and smiled, waving her hand a bit. She hovered over to his place and stopped beside him. "Hello Ian. I have not seen you in a while. Of course I was in no position to see you as I was nowhere that you would be, but that is besides the point. How do you find yourself these days? Of course I meant in the sense of how you are feeling and the like.. not as if you would be missing....."

She paused when she realized she had babbled. She looked at the others and only noticed Semella whom she knew. "Hello Semella! We met once. Do you remember me?"

Valora Voldemort
The darkness feien's laughter had quieted down as she began to explain herself. 'Just memories really. I haven't been to the shop much since I was a youth.'

'Cause of me and Rizzy no doubt.' Semella interupted, but quieted herself after.

Shux frowned at the anicent for being inconsiderate. 'As I was saying...When I first met you, you were yelling your head off at Tosten, I believe for scaring the wits out of me. So much different now from then.' She sighed at the thoughts of it all. With a small grin, realization of her own rudeness sunk in. 'Oh, I must appologize. This is Semella. She is a flatmate of mine.'

Reaching a clawed hand to shake, the anicent spoke: 'Evening.'

Rynn
Ian waved to Talon, then smiled when he saw Val. "Hey Val! I'm doing great, yourself?" He smirked when her attention was taken by the anicent. That one was an interesting one.

He looked to Leafy, smiling. "You'll get to enjoy this one day as well," he whispered, smiling, touching the leaf.

Shiro Ookami
A grin played slowly, as if crawling, across Patience face as she recalled the scene. The she too laughed.

"I see your point. It's good that your not so shy anymore. Meeting people is good. I actually met alot of feiens just today. It's been a good day. I first Met Hitomi, then Ian came along, we ran into a rather strange lady who was the new owner of one of Ian's breeding, Aparently a spikey bloom, And I also met the owner of the leaf bloom sitting here. Now you guys come in and there are more people to meet still. Today has been a busy but good day. I never meet so many Feien in one day.

Patience said to Shux. She also took a bow towards Semella as a greeting.

"Hello, my name is Patience."

She said it loud enough that even the feien on the high counter could hear her, but not loud to seem she was yelling. Just loud enough.

karma_k
As more feien arrived, Talon realized just how far out of the loop he'd been. Aside from Ian, he wasn't sure he recognized any of these feien...

Well, that's what he got for essentially living under a rock, wasn't it? He hesitated a moment more and then hovered toward the others. He clearly wasn't going to find what he was looking for here, and wasn't especially inclined to go home just yet.

Landing a short distance away from the throng of conversing feien, he stood by with intent to observe. It didn't occur to him that the one nearest to him was his long-ago declared mortal enemy. Then again, Shux hadn't been taller than him last he'd seen her either.

Valora Voldemort
Semella's ears twitched as she heard her name be called. She had not know many feiens herself, so she was curious to see which one of the few were in the shop. A juvenile had called her name. 'Hello.' she called in return to give time to place her.

Leaning into Shux she whispered. 'I think this is a friend of Rizzy's. Do you think she could know where Rizzy is?'

Shux quirked an eyebrow. 'Possible. Call he over.'

Val. That's her name. Like their owner. How could she not remember it sooner? The anicent waved at Val in hopes of enticing her over.

Rynn
Ian glanced over, seeing Talon land down where they were. He blinked, taking in his appearance. Seemed the dragonfeien had merged with a gemstone. He wondered if that would happen with him, if he had ever gotten a chance to merge with Cel's. But that wasn't meant to be.

"Talon, come over and met the leaf Aria and I helped create." He didn't want Talonfaust to feel left out.

TarnishedHalo
Val turned back to Ian and tilted her head. She'd taken to making head movements so her earrings would jingle. Sort of like when someone started to play with a tongue ring when they got one. She had two earrings in one ear and only one in the other.

"I am well. In terms of health. Mentally I am the same as usual. That is what you wanted to know, correct? I never know how to respond. Not much exciting has happened. There is a new feien in my house with me so now I have a feien companion around like you do."

Shiro Ookami
Everyone but her had someone to talk to, so Patience wandered the counter a bit, looking at the items for a bit. She'll just wait for an oppertunity to make conversation. She didn't want to go home just yet. Not when there was this many Feiens here. But she didn't want to push herself on people. So she wandered a bit.

Rynn
Ian smiled at Val. "Yeah, that's what I wanted to know." He liked her, she was outgoing, spoke her mind. "Congrats on having another feien around! Come see the leaf. Aria and I helped bring this new one to life!" Boy...he was getting excited now! So many to show his kid off too!

karma_k
For a moment, Talon remained where he was as though he'd not heard Ian, and then moved forward. As he neared, he examined the blue black-edged leaf, cocking his head slightly. He supposed he shouldn't be offput...considering he and Tahki had made a mushroom, after all.

"Congratulations." he said quietly, nodding his head once. "It looks to take after Aria." He looked down at the now pencilpoint-shaped pebble clutched in his six-fingered hand and let it drop to the counter at his side, having lost interest in it.

TarnishedHalo
"You made it?" Val opened her mouth wide. "Interesting! feien reproduction! I have never seen a second generation bloom.. or leaf, rather." She looked over at Semella and Shux and waved them over. She didn't know Shux but since Semella was nice then her friend was probably fine as well.

The juvenile also looked up at Talon. "Hello sir. You are an adult. I am Valsharess, a juvenile. We have not met. It is a pleasure to meet you... though I do not derive any pleasure out of it personally, I am told that it is common courtesy to say so." She smiled. "Not to say that meeting you displeases me at all, I am rather neutral on the feeling."

Rynn
The green feien looked to Talon. Had the merging mellowed him out? It seemed too. Maybe he was uncomfortable with everyone about. "Thank you," he said, giving the other adult a small smile.

There were so many feien about now. Seeing Patience off alone, he waved her over. "Come on, come meet and greet!"

karma_k
Talon blinked, realizing the juvenile was addressing him and quirked a brow as she spoke. She sounded like an automated pre-recorded message like the ones he'd dealt with when trying to figure out how to work a calling card in Europe.

When she finished, he nodded to her, though the brow remained quirked in slight confusion. "Nice.....to meet you too." he said, sounding uncertain. Good gods, and he'd thought Irisa could get technical in normal conversation. "My name is Talonfaust."

It occurred to him that this was the most social he'd been in a long while, such as it was. He supposed taking a long nap and spending a good portion of the evening in Yeande's presense had had something to do with it. Hell, if smiling were habit for him, he'd be the happiest idiot of the bunch right now...instead, however, his face remained carefully blank and mellow.

Shiro Ookami
Patience looked up and saw Ian calling her over. Well, she could always meet people through someone, and Ian seemed to know the other adult and the younger feien there, so she might as well use him to meet them. Have him impose, rather then her do it herself. So she wandered over to Ian.

"Greet? I guess so. Hello. My name is Patience, nice to meet you."

She gave a polight nod and bow to both Talon and Val.

Valora Voldemort
'Hmm...no go. We can go to her.' Semella whispered back at Shux.

'Then go we shall.' Shux strolled past the ancient and went to greet the juvenile properly. 'Hello. Forgive me. My companion here tells me that you are aqaintences with our Rizzy. Is this true?' Oddly straight to the point for Shux, but it seems she does not feel like pracing around the issue they were there for.

Semella gave a nervous laugh to herself as she watched Shux' forwardness. Perhaps she would have in to settle matters between her flatmates.

Sarabi Adruenna

Hitomi climbed in through an open window and peered out behind herself. She had now succesfully snuck out of the house for the first time. She had accidnetly awoken the Lunar Sprocket on her way out, but she had managed to lose it hopefully.

She turned to the shop to see if anyone was still here. Not only were Ian and Patience still here, but so were 4 others! She blinked a few times. She had never seen so many Feien in one place in so many times. For the first time in her life she didn't seem so eager to go over and start beign social. There were SO many. She frowned a bit before fluttering to a place that was just a bit closer.

TarnishedHalo
Valsharess's smile always remained the same, placid and calm. It was almost as if thats how her face always remained and was her natural expression instead of one to express pleasure.

"Talonfaust." She repeated it again and then said something under her breath. She did that a lot.

"You are an adult. I have never seen an adult like you." She hovered up a bit, her hands clasped behind her back again. "You are interesting to look at. I am told it is rude to stare and poke though. I used to do that when I was younger. I shall not subject you unless you approve." She hovered around him again and then lowered, "Green.. green.." she muttered pleasantly to herself as if it were no consequence to anyone else.

When Patience arrived and introduced herself, Val's expression remained unchanged. "Hello Patience. I am Valsharess. You both may call me Val if the nickname suits your tastes. I will not be one to assume what your tastes may be just from meeting you."

Of course in a moment her attention was pulled to the adult with Semella and she just looked at her and hovered. "Rizzy? I am not aware of who this Rizzy is.."

Valsharess looked to Semella, a tad puzzled, and then to Shux. "Unless of course that is a nickname for Rislin. But I have not seen her I am afraid. Have you lost her? Or has she lost herself? That would be a dreadful thing to lose yourself I think. You might be lost in the couch cushions and never even realize you were right under your own nose!"

Val is an odd one, if no one had yet noticed.

karma_k
"Hello, Patience." Talon greeted. He really was not used to giving out this many greetings and could feel a distant throbbing in his temples that threatened to become a headache if he pushed it much more. For the moment, he ignored it. "My name is Talon."

He felt like a parrot, giving his name over and over again...he supposed it really wasn't any of their fault, though.

Rynn
Ian decided he's attempt to make conversion. "Did the merging hurt?" he asked Talon? He had a feeling it did, but Talon would know for sure. He did look interesting, with the oddly placed fingers. One would have to get use to that, he knew. And with the horns, well, the weight, if there was any, that would take some getting use too as well.

Shiro Ookami
Patience Nodded in responce to Val and made note of her name in her head. So amny people she met today. And now she was introduced to another adult. He certainly looked odd, but the mention of Merging made sense. She had seen one of the others who had melded, Yeande. She also made a nod to Talon, though he looked as if he was having a headache. With Shiro having a cronic mirane, Patience was well knowlages in the tel signs of when someone had one, or when was getting one. Her attention was distracted for a second when Hitomi had come back, she gave her a wave before Patience walked closer to Talon.

"Your head hurting you?"

She said softly, in a kind and concerned voice. Though trying to keep it low enough to not have others notice her question.

Valora Voldemort
Shux smiled faintly at the juvenile. At least she knew the point she was headed for. 'Yes, forgive me. Rislin. She is a flatmate of mine and Semella. She has once again left without giving word of where she is headed. We worry for her safety.' But she grew confused about how to answer the rest of Val's statement.

Semella crossed her arms as Val spewed her response to Shux' questioning. 'I dount she had gotten lost within couch cushions. I have yet to find a couch in the manor, yet I cannot say I have been everywhere within it's walls. But perhaps we shall tell out owner to check them if she does not appear soon.'

Shux' attention however turned to an oddly familiar voice. Well more the name that was spoken. Talon. Another feien she had met once. Leaving Semella behind to talk to the young juvenile, she went to greet him. 'Well I never imagined this was how you were to turn out. But then again I never imagined to be stuck with two other feiens within my household.'

karma_k
Talon's head turned in Ian's direction and he nodded. "Yes. It hurt like nothing else." he informed the plant feien. "In fact, I can easily say its the worst physical pain I've ever felt in my life." Saying so, he arched his back a bit to pop it, his muscles rippling beneath his skin as he did so.

"But I won't lie to you, it was well-worth the pain." he added, straightening again.

karma_k
He'd no sooner finished talking to Ian than someone else was approaching him. He looked at the taller female with idle curiousity, wondering who she was for a moment before recognition dawned on him. The markings, the red eyes, the white hair.

"Shux." he said moreso to himself than to her. The long-buried childhood grudge instantly tried to rear its head and he impatiently swatted it down within him.

"You look to be doing well for yourself." he said, nodding once to her. "How long has it been? Half a year at least..."

TarnishedHalo
Val nodded at Semella and smiled a bit more. At least she didn't seem puzzled. Most usually were. or they lost interest.

"Oh yes. Couches are dangerous things for feien. I hear they devour small things and only give them back if you wrestle them into submission or if humans shove their appendages into the various orifices of the couch. Of course they do not breathe, I have cheked, so I am not sure if they are really alive." Val idly reached up and tugged on one of her own earrings.

"I do hope that Rislin was not devoured by a couch.. or at least has not lost herself. Even if we do not know where she is, I hope she knows where herself is otherwise she would be severely inconvenienced. If I see here I will let you know Semella. Well at least as best I can. I can't guarantee immediate response because the travelling from where I am to where you are will take time.. of course and I may need to do a few errands..." She grew silent a moment and thought about something, as if her ramble continued in her own head. "Yes." She smiled up at the ancient. "If I see her I will inform you as fast as I can."

Shiro Ookami
Aparently her question fell upon deaf ears as Shux aprouched. There was just something in the air that Patience was getting a vibe. AS much as she wanted to leave the two alone in their conversation, something told her otherwise. So she just watched.

Rynn
Ian nodded. Well, if he had Cel's gemstone, if he could not bring him back, he'd merge with it. As for pain....well, pain passed. "I daresay, you look wonderful. The smaller horns along side remind me of dragon horns." He wasn't sure if Talon still thought he was a dragon trapped in a feien body, but the those horns suited him.

Rynn entered the shop, looking around. So many feien! She smiled, spying Ian talking to one she semi recognized. Walking closer, softly, she smiled. "Greetings, Talon. You have changed considerately. I admit, I like it." She tuned to Ian. "Ianios, it's late. Lets go home."

Ianios nodded, then gestured to the bowl. "I think your friend forgot this." Inside was the leaf, just floating there.

Rynn nodded, picking up the bowl. "We'll drop this off at his house, then head home."

Ian turned back to Talon and Patience. "Goodnight." He waved to Val, Shux, and Semella. "Goodnight!"
He flew up and landed in Rynn's jacket pocket, looking at her. "Remind me to get onto you about the blooms!" he was saying as she walked out.

The Visit with Sevviekun
Rynn knocked on Sevvie's door, Ian on her shoulder, Aria's bloom floating in the bowl she held. She was wondering when Aria would come out. And Ian was wanting to visit the leaf again. She waited on Sevvie to answer the door, chilly.

Roused from poring over his notes on feien magic by a knock at the door, Sevvie hurriedly checked his bloom, then headed out into the hallway to open the door. "Rynn!" he exclaimed cheerfully. "Come in, come in, it's cold out there. Want any cocoa or anything?" He grinned as he saw her entourage. "Brought Ian and Aria too, I see."

"Hey Sevvie!" she said, stepping inside. She took off her jacket after setting the bowl down, Ianios hovering nearby, checking for ice in the bowl. "Cocoa? Sure, I'll take some."

"Me too," Ian said, satisfied Aria and her water hadn't suffered any ill effects out in the cold.

Rynn nodded. "Yeah, Ian said Aria might want to visit the leaf too."

"Very well, three cups of cocoa and some nice warm water for Aria," he said, bustling about the small kitchen. There were only two chairs at the table, but as there were only two human-sized people that worked out just fine. A short while later he set a long, shallow bowl of warm water on the table. He placed his own leaf in the water, motioning that Aria was welcome too. He gave a mug of cocoa to Rynn and poured some from another one into a relatively deep saucer. "I don't have any feien sized cups or anything yet," he admitted, taking a seat with the half-empty mug. "I'd planned to go shopping for things tomorrow."

Rynn put Aria's bloom into the bowl, where her petals curled up a bit, then relaxed. She floated near the leaf. Rynn smiled and sipped the cocoa. "This is good."

Ian nodded, leaning over into the saucer to drink. He nodded. "Yeah, this is good. And I don't mind." He grinned, seeing Aria and the leaf close by each other. "Awww..."

Rynn giggled. "They're so cute." She glanced at Sevvie. "So enjoying having a companion so far? Even if he or she is a leaf?"

Sevvie grinned at the two feien blooms 'socializing' and nodded. "It's interesting, to say the least... I talk to it sometimes and it wiggles back, and we listen to classical together, but other than that there's not been much changed yet. I'm just glad it's still healthy, you know how I am with plants... I'm much better with books, really.. Not so much endangering their lives..." He winced slightly, hoping the bloom's father, being a plant feien, wouldn't take too much offense at the fact he accidentally killed nearly every plant he came across.

Ian glanced at him. "Well, keep doing what you're doing, and the bloom will be fine." At least he hoped. He didn't want his child turned into a gemstone so soon after the blooming.

Rynn smiled at Ian. "Don't worry, Sevvie can handle the leaf. He's capable. Besides, he can leave it alone and it'll be fine."

Ian nodded, sipping more warm cocoa. He went over to the bowl, patting the leaf then Aria. "We should be fine."

Aria curled her petals around Ian's hand, as if trying to reassure him. Rynn thought Aria knew Ian's worries. But Sevvie would be fine with the bloom.

"So what's it like, being a plant feien? Or for that matter, a plant feien's bond?" he asked, looking back and forth from Rynn and Ianios curiously. The scientifically analytical side of his brain had kicked in, and he had two good resources sitting right there.

Rynn hid her smirk behind her mug as she took a sip. "Well," she said, when she lowered the cup. "You know you're in charge of someone, to make sure they grow up, learn to live almost on their own. Sure, they will want to be on their own, but they're a part of you, you're a part of them. You're always a parent to them, in a way." She glanced to Ian, who was listening closely.

"Yeah, you're the bond that holds that feien to life. Why we need people now, I'm not sure."

"I think it's because the feien's hold on life has faded quite a bit. They need us. And I can't imagine life without mine."

Ian grinned up at Rynn, who smiled back. "As for being a plant feien, well, it's like being you. I just know magic you might not."

Sevvie nodded thoughtfully, pondering this as he sipped his cocoa. "So it's kind of like being a parent to an actual baby then... Only not as much drool or diapers," he added, grinning. "And they seem to grow up a lot faster... I think I'm going to like it though." He stuck his tongue out at Ian then. "You aren't very much help with your magic answer though." He smiled to show he didn't really mean it.

Ian stuck out his tongue. "Ha, the feien will find out on his own. Assuming Leafy is a he." He rubbed over the leaf. "Sorry if you're a girl."

Rynn smirked. "Ignore him, Ian. He's silly."

"Yeah, but you like me anyway, right?" he asked, smiling at them. "Really though I'm glad you guys think I'm doing a good job, you don't know how much it means to me," he said, sliding one finger around the rim of his cup. "I guess after all that while I finally got a little lonely... I'm glad you two - three, sorry Aria - were there to help me out." He gave them a grateful little half-smile. "I suppose I should really find the feien some other friend too though... I'm sure I'll get fairly boring by myself after a while. Any ideas?"

"Pixapets!" Ian cried. "They got mice, dogs, cats..."

Rynn smiled. "Wait until he or she emerges, then take them to the Pixa shop. I think it's free, seeing as how couple of donated for new feien."

"And these Pixapets are small enough for a Feien?" he said, looking at them with interest. "How big would you say they are?"

Rynn nodded. "Of course. About as small as the first tip of my pinkie. Maybe slightly larger. They're the perfect size for a feien."

"We also got dragons. I wanted to bring Celaien, he's my red dragon I named after my deceased love, but Rynn said it was too cold for him."

"Ahh. That'd be the right size then, for sure," he said, smiling peacefully.

"Celaien? Who was that? What happened?" he asked, blinking at Ianios. Ian seemed so young... yet he'd already fallen in love and his love had died? Just how old did feien live to be?? He resolved to look in the shop for more answers later that evening, or perhaps tomorrow.

Rynn decided to let Ian answer. He looked to the blooms, before answering.

"He was older than I, but never grew up. His bond vanished for a month
and when she returned, the energy she gave him to keep him alive, well, he died cause she wasn't there. Now she's a recluse, only talking to Rynn. She rarely leaves home. She won't talk to other feien bonders." He sighed softly. "He was so sweet...and taller than I was I was little. He could hold me and I felt so warm..."

Ian flew off, saddened.

Rynn blinked. It was still a touchy subject. "Sevvie, I lost the gemstone, but recently I got it back. I think I should give it to him, don't you?"

"Gemstone? That's what they turn into when they die, isn't it..." he said, remembering one of the notices in the shop. He shivered, fervently hoping his never did. "I don't know.. what can he do with Celaien's gemstone? It seems a bit strange to give him his love's corpse as a present, even if it is a gem... I didn't mean to upset him..." He looked in the direction Ian had flown, feeling rather guilty.

Rynn sipped the cocoa, swallowing the last bit. "Well, feiens can merge with feien gemstones, gain their powers, even a bit of their looks. Or, they can be resurrected. I would hope to get him resurrected, but if I can't, then Ian will want to merge with him. I've always known this. Cel was all he talked about."

"Ahh," he said, draining the last of his as well. "I think perhaps you should give it to him, and let him choose which path he'd take. I'm sure he'll be happier, at least, knowing for sure that the gemstone is in his hands rather than some stranger's."

Rynn nodded. "I think so too." She looked to where Ian flew off too. "Ian! Please....come back!"

Ian returned, his eyes red. He settled down on the table, looking at her. "What?"

She reached into her pocket, pulling something out. She unfolded her hand at his level, revealing a familar gemstone. She watched Ian for his reaction.

Ian's eyes went wide. "Cel!" he cried, tackling the gemstone. He hugged it tightly, nearly crying.

"I was waiting for the right time to give it to you, Ian."

Ian only nodded, feeling the warmth from the stone. "Oh Cel..."

He blinked for a moment - she'd been keeping it in her pocket?? That was quickly forgotten, though, as the feien's reaction overwhelmed him. His throat tightened and his eyes teared up from the emotions of the little fairy. Hastily drying them on his shirt sleeve and clearing his throat, he looked down. So that was love... He cleared his throat again. "I'm happy for you Ian, that you have him back in some way at least," he said, his voice still a bit odd-sounding.

Ian looked up at Sevvie, nodding. "Thanks. I rather have him back, not his gemstone though." He sighed, holding the gem close as he got up.

"Sorry I hid it from you, Ianios. But I wanted to surprise you..." Rynn started, getting a nod from Ian. "I'm sorry, love."

"At least it's a start. I have him back, in some form. Maybe now I can bring him back."

"Indeed. And having some form of him is better than nothing..." Sevvie said, trailing off quietly. He shook his head as if dispelling some unhappy thought. "Still, it's getting a bit late, and I imagine you'll want to get home before it gets too cold out. Perhaps you'd like a cup of cocoa for the trip home?" He stood, aware that he sounded perhaps a bit more formal than he'd intended. "Thanks for coming by, again, I was truly glad of your company and I'm sure the little one did as well."

Rynn shook her head. "No thanks, that's ok." She stood up, letting Ian fly into her pocket, holding the gemstone. She patted Sevvie's hand. "It's alright." Changing Aria back into her bowl, the bloom seemed to droop a little. She wasn't ready to go, it seemed.

"Thank you for a lovely time. Feel free to swing by sometime, alright?" she said, heading for the door, the bowl in her hands.

"I will," he promised, giving her a friendly (and careful, as she had Ian and Aria about her person) hug goodbye. "Be safe, okay?" he said, walking with her to the door.

"We will. Goodnight, Sevvie." She smiled, hugging back and heading out. "Come visit soon!" she called back.

"We will," he called back, waving until she was out of sight. The wintery chill then drove him inside finally, and he shut the thick door and returned to his bloom.

Something is up with Rynn. She just shoved Naaro aside, and stormed out. I'm going to follow her and see what's up.

Rynn jerked open the door of the house, fleeing into the dark night, towards Barton, towards Mike's place. It was only there she could find what she wanted, needed. It sure as hell wasn't with Naaro right now.

He was making her feel bad enough as it was, and she had had enough. Once in the city, she headed straight for Mike's place. Slipping into the shadows, she went straight there, unlocking spells and doorways only she knew about. Mike had hidden himself within plain sight, if one knew where to look. And she knew where to look. Once all the wards were down, she knocked on his door.

Mike opened the door and blinked. He was dressed in only his jeans and pendent. Moving past to let her in, she jerked her head. He closed the door, blinking. Something was up, Something big. He felt it. Moving behind her, wrapping her in his arms, he nuzzled her. "Rynn?" he asked. "What's wrong?"

She said nothing, That wasn't good. Not at all. "Rynn?" he asked again.

She trembled, turning around, wrapping her arms around him, hugging him to her. He rubbed her back, one hand smoothing her hair. What had happened? "Darlin'?"

She said nothing still, one hot tear splashing on his shoulder. Oh s**t...something big had gone down. "Rynn, Darlin, talk to me. WHat the hell happened?"

"Mike..." she began, finally breaking down. The dam had broken, the river let loose all its force. He held her, trying to sooth her anyway he could. He had seen her cry before, but never like this. What happened? Was it Naaro?

Ian, meanwhile, had flown into the city after his bond, looking everywhere for her. Where was she? What happened between her and Naaro? Why had she stormed out? He was sick with worry, and Aria hadn't re-emerged to help him look. He had no idea where to go.

"Darlin', speak to me. What happened?" Mike gently asked, rubbing her back. Finally, she looked at him, her orange eyes red from crying. She licked her lips, trying to find the words.

"Kill me, Mike. Take the pain away." She looked at him, pleading with her eyes. He blinked, stunned.

"Hell no!! I can't! Rynn, Over my ashes will I kill you!" he shouted, holding her back at arms length. She started sobbing again and he pulled her in close. "Baby...please don;t cry..."

She couldn't help it. He was her only chance, She couldn't bring herself to do it, she had tried. She wanted sdo bad to slash her arms, tos ee the blood, but something held her back, She was so angry, in so much pain, but she couldn't bring herself to do it. He was her only chance to end it all.

"Naaro.......he ignores me, my brothers try to help, end up making me feel worse about myself. I feel worse that the dirt. At least it has a purpose, things grow out of dirt. I feel even lower. Please, Mike, end it for me. Kill me!!" she sobbed as he rubbed her back.

He shook his head, dipping one arm under her knees, lifting her. He carried her into the bedroom, laying her on the bed, She curled up, sobbing. It nearly broke his heart to see her like that. Damn that Naaro! He climbed up behind her, pulling her into his embrace. He warmed himself to hold her, having forgotten to do so earlier.

Damn...what could he do? He was torn between wanting to beat the hell out of Naaro and staying here, holding her. He still loved her deeply, all he wanted was her happy. Suddenly, alarms went off, and he looked towards his door.

Ian was outside, having found his place but not knowing it. He sensed the feien outside, but didn;t drop the wards to allow him to enter. He knew somehow Rynn hadn;t wanted to be found. And he wasn't about to let her either. He snuggled her up into his arms, soothing her hair. Slowly her sobs died down, her hands on his arm. He smiled gently, nuzzling her, She smelled good. But now wasn't the time for such thoughts, she needed him.

Outside, Ian sank down onto the edge of a crate. He had flown nearly all over the city, hoping for a glimpse of Rynn, but nothing, She had vanished. Where did she go? Why? Had she been so hurt by Naaro she left everything she loved behind? It hurt to be left like that. Hurt as bad as it had when he first discovered Celaien's gemstone in the shop. "Rynn!" he screamed into the night. Would she hear him? Could she hear him?

Rynn sobbed silently on the bed, her lip trembling. She felt so empty. She knew Mike would want to know exactlly what had happened, and she would tell him. But not now. Now she was just hurt and confused.

Mike held her tightly to him, trying to figure out what was going on. Exactly what had happened? "Rynn..." he whispered into her ear. "Tell me what happened. Please."

She looked over her shoulder at him, sighing. "I blew up at him...we fought. He says he loves me, but the feelings have changed. Now...I'm lost, confused."

Mike sighed. They were through. That wasn't good. He was feeling her pain, just holding her. "Shh...it's alright. You're a good person. You'll find someone else."

"That's just it. I don't want anyone else." She was done with men. All men.

Mike blinked. "Relax, you just say that now."

She rolled over, her eyes hard. "I don't. I am done with men. All men. If I lost the one I love deeply, why would I want another?"

He had no idea what to say. "If you need a place to stay a few days, then you're welcome to live here. But what of Ian?"

Rynn blinked. She had forgotten about her feien. "He'd be fine a few days without me."

Ianios sighed outside. He couldn't find his bond whatsoever. Maybe he ought to return home. Maybe she'd be there. He flew off, returning home.
PostPosted: Wed Feb 09, 2005 4:42 pm

Ian had returned home that eve those few days ago, and still Rynn had not returned. Naaro was a wreck. Ian himself was torn up. He hadn't been around inside when the fight happened, but he knew it had to have been big. Rynn hadn't called or come back to even check on things.

He was worried big time. She had simply vanished it seemed. And it hurt. Finally he decided he'd get Naaro to tell him what had happened.

He found Naaro in the living room. He looked torn up, holding his head in his hands. Silent sobs wracked his body. Ianios sighed. "Naaro?" he said, hoping Naaro would look up. But he didn't. The feien flew over, landing on the man's knee, patting his hand softly. "Naaro? What happened between you and Rynn? Why did she leave?"

The male dragon looked up at the small creature on his knee, looking as pained as he felt. He didn't know what to say. "We had a fight," he was able to reply. It was all he could say. It was stupid, he realized that. Hopefully she realized that too.

"Will she come back home?" Ian asked. He hoped she would.

Naaro shrugged. He hated to admit it, but he wasn't sure. It had been nearly a week. They had said a lot before she fled. He prayed she'd come home soon.

Ian's face fell, and the little green feien flew off. If she didn't, he'd be lost without her. She was his bond, his reason for being, in a way. "I miss you, Rynn."

The House

Quote:
Ianios checked the directions he had copied off the flyer back at the shop. Coming up to a large, two story house, he felt certain this was the place. He flew through the gate and over to the front door. Damn, this place was bigger than Rynn's little woodland cottage. Freaking mansion Maq lived in. Spying the knocker, he frowned.

"No way can I lift that thing," he said outloud. But maybe he could try. He had some strength to him.

He flew over, and put his hands on it. Amazingly enough, it felt light, despite looking like iron. He picked it up and let it fall, creating a sound loud enough he hoped someone heard it.

From outside, it really didn't sound as if any noise had come from the knocker at all, but moments later the door swung inwards revealing a long hall with a side table against the right-hand wall, and what appeared to be a water basin with the carved stone relief of a bearded man as a backdrop. Up the hall came a fox-like creature with multiple tails, his black coat gleaming with emerald highlights that terminated at each tail tip. When the creature was close enough to make out Ian, he sat down in the middle of the hall, tails curling around him.

"I'm guessing you are one of Maq's friends," was his wry form of greeting. "Though you must be the only other male of his species, given the number of females that have been here..."

Ian smirked and nodded. "Only male that's been here, huh? Interesting." So Maq was a playboy. He wondered if Aria knew that. Maybe she did. He shrugged.

He ran a hand through his hair, spiking it a bit. "So where is Maq? I've come for some training. And no, there are other males besides us." The house looked even bigger on the inside. Ian was sure he'd get lost in there.

"Kitchen. This way." Restraining the urge to snort, the creature stood and began walking back down the hall towards an entryway that stood open, free of a door. They passed another such opening, this one leading into what looked like a large living room, several Pixas playing some game with sticks on the carpet as a man with ram horns watched them from the couch.

Through the open way at the end of the hall came the sound of talking, the clatter of silverware against plates, and the smell of fresh baked chicken pot pie. The creature stopped just outside the doorway, letting Ian enter on his own.

Within, at a table situated in the center of the kitchen, sat another man, this one with cat ears, a tall blonde woman, and a much shorter woman whose hair changed from long, wavy purple to short, sharp spikes of electric yellow as Ian watched. None seemed to notice Ian's entrance, not even Maq, who was currently sitting beside the plate of the hair-shifting woman, helping himself to a chunk of carrot and laughing at the tale the blonde was in the middle of telling.

"...So then I trucked the whole hung-over lot of them back to the Keep, and viola! Ten drummers, ready to drum." Her voice was oddly accented, musical to the ear, and she gestured at the end of her first sentence with a bold flourish of her forkful of salad, which she seemed to be the only one eating.

Ian followed, looking around as he flew. He smiled at the pixas, wondering what his own was up too. He knew they were waiting patiently on Aria to re-emerge, as was he.

Moving further, the smell of chicken pot pie reached his nose. Yum, that smelled delicious. Then the kitsune turned into a kitchen, where he found people, Maq included. They were sitting around, talking, eatting. His stomach rumbled a little. He knew he should have eatten before leaving. Ah well. He wouldn't impose. He bit his lip, trying to figure out how to attract attention. Best way was direct. "Excuse me," he said. "Maq? I saw your ad. Will you train me?"

All at the table looked up at Ian's voice, though the reactions were scattered and different. Maq lifted his arm in greeting, grinning and waving him over. "Hey, Ian!" He set the carrot chunk back down on the plate, but didn't make a move to get up. "Come on down and take a sit; we're just wrapping up lunch."

The cat man had looked at Ian, blinking, until the shorter woman nudged him with her elbow, muttering under her breath, "Told you so. Pay up." Her eyes, solid swirling orbs of every color under the sun, watched Ian with amusement. He grumbled something back, even as he reached into a pocket.

The blonde, however, was the only one who didn't say a word, instead tucking the salad into her mouth and giving Maq a meaningful look. The red Feien, however, seemed oblivious to it. "There's plenty to eat, if you're hungry," he said. "Always best to have some fuel in you before training, anyway."

Ian flew over, smirking. He had guessed the cat man and the woman with the changing hair had bet Maq was the only male of the feien race. Seeing him had changed things. She knew there were more males. Obviously the cat man hadn't agreed.

He sat down on the tabletop, reaching over for a bite of carrot. "Thanks," he said, smiling warmly. He glanced at the human creatures, trying to guess which was Maq's bond. Well, perhaps the blonde who had given Maq a look. "I'm looking forward to this training. I haven't had a teacher stick around for long."

"I plan on sticking around for a while, so no worries there." Reaching over, Maq picked up a hunk of something white, then brought it up so that he could take a large mouthful of it. Once he had chewed and swallowed, he pointed at his hunk, then at various items on the changing woman's plate in turn. "Potato, carrot, pea, crust and chicken..." With a broad grin, he moved on to the actual people sitting around them, first the one who's plate they were eating from, then the blonde, and finally the cat man. "Anwahs, Tera, and Miz."

Ian nodded in greeting to each other, hoping Anwahs didn't mind him eatting off her plate. SO far it seemed she was fine with Maq doing it. Spying a piece of chicken, he grabbed it, bitting into it. It was hot, and he nearly dropped it, but it was good. Gravy dripped from the chicken and onto his lap and chest.

He smirked, shaking it head as he scooped it up into his hand, swallowing it. "That's good to know. Cause frankly, I don't know where to start on doing any sort of training. I just do whatever."

Maq took another bite of his potato, then looked Ian over thoughtfully. when he'd finished chewing, he said, "Well, we'll probably run you through a couple of tests, so I can see what you're working with." Then he nodded and took another bite.

Anwahs, far from appearing disgruntled at the sight of the two Feien eating from her plate, grinned over at Tera and said sweetly, "uth ren'Tail? Ri qualen Maq..." There was a sharp thump from under the table, and Anwahs winced visibly, Tera glaring at her.

With a raised eyebrow and a cheekful of potato, Maq looked between the two of them, then back at Ian and shrugged.

Ian nodded, looking up at the two females. His eyebrow cocked, wondering what was being said. He got Maq's name, but that was it. Hopefully she wasn't suggesting Maq and him...lord no, he hadn't gotten over Cel and that was ages ago. At least now he had the gemstone.

"Alright. Ready when you are." It never took much to fill him up, but he had a feeling he'd be hungry again before this day was through.

Luckily for Ian, Maq had already pretty much eaten his fill by the time the green Feien had gotten there, since he wasn't one of those finicky Feien who ate like a bird. He finished the bite he was chewing, then dropped his potato back down onto the plate, next to his previous piece of carrot. Anwahs made a big show of scooting both to the far edge of her plate with her fork, which earned her a grin and the finger from Maq.

"Now's as good a time as any." He stood, then stretched his arms out behind his back, linking his fingers and bringing them up over his head with an audible popping noise from his shoulders. Dropping his arms back into place, he rolled his shoulders, then lifted himself a few inches into the air, away from the table.

With a glance back at Ian, he said, "Just follow me; let me know if you have trouble keeping up!" A short laugh, and he was off, wings spreading out like sails behind him as he headed to leave the kitchen.

Ian smirked, cleaning himself off as best he could. He quickly wolfed down the bite of chicken, then stood. He hated to make a mess at the dinner table. "Sorry about that," he addressed the three, not sure which was Maq's bond.

He buzzed off after the heat feien, wondering where they were headed. It would be an interesting experience, finally having a teacher that would hang around. He wanted to be trained, taught how to defend himself, in case he ever had trouble in any of his adventures. But since he knew next to nothing in ways of battle, most of his adventuring had slowed to a crawl. No point in risking himself. So now he explored the house, sometimes coming across things he hadn't seen, but mostly he had just rediscovered things he had.

When Maq exited the kitchen, he made a quick, hard right, glancing back again over his shoulder. Not too shabby. It looked like this Ian had a bit of speed to him, which was good. He picked up the pace a bit, deciding that this was as good a time as any to start the first of said tests. If the guy could keep up with the turns and the pace, then Maq would know that he was at least close to his own level of speed and dexterity.

They both sped down a short hallway before Maq wheeled again, this time to the left, in order to start flying up a set of stairs. He passed another one of those fox creatures, this one black and purple with long horns, which snapped at the red blur as it zipped over her head.

Ian followed, taking the quick, hard right after Maq. It seemed he was just zooming around. He smirked to himself. Perhaps this was a test, as he saw the red blur wheel again, zipping up a staircase. Not a problem, he could keep up.

He followed, past the other kitsune. He laughed, keeping up the pace.

The staircase took them to the second floor, where Maq made another right, flew a short distance further, and one more right into a large room. Along the opposite two walls ran large windows which reached almost to the ceiling, overlooking the backyard, which spread out until it reached a small stream. Just beneath those windows were a series of window seats, perfect for perching on and peering out at whatever was going on outside.

Scattered across the floor were a number of large cushions, brightly colored against the cream of the carpet. Bookcases lined those walls not windowed, stacked with a wide variety of books, toys and miscellaneous knick-knacks.

Maq came up short in the center of the room and hovered there, waiting for Ian to reach him.

Ian followed up the stairs, making the sharp right, down the hall, spying Maq make another right. Once in the room, he saw the red feien hovering in the middle. He smirked, flying over. "That was fun!"

"Glad you liked." Maq grinned in return; the green Feien didn't even seem to be out of breath, which was a good sign. Of course, flying wasn't one of the most physical activities, as it relied more on magic than anything else.

He let himself float over to one of the window seats, lowering until his feet touched down on its padded surface. "When you said you do 'whatever', what exactly do you do?"

Ian shook his head. "Not really. I dunno what to do, so I mess around with them." He never had a teacher longer than a day and after a while, those lessons had faded from memory. Not that he was too worried about it. He figured he'd find a teacher one day that would hang around.

He grinned at the mention of the exercises. He knew he'd enjoy it a lot. "Lets get started now!"

Maq nodded, then began to take Ian through a series of stretches, followed by a couple of cardiovascular routines. Since he'd decided to do their beginning work up here, instead of outside where Maq had most of his equipment, he decided it better just to skip anything, like pull-ups or lifts, that would require such things. As it was, what he was showing Ian now would be more than enough to make the Plant Feien break a sweat.

Keeping in mind everything Ben had told him, Maq made sure to explain what each exercise did for the body, which muscles it manipulated, and why it was important to do them. As they worked over the course of the next hour, Maq started to feel that familiar, pleasant burn within his muscles that let him know he was doing everything correctly.

Ian was grinning the entire time he worked out. He was enjoying the feeling he was getting. The strength that he knew he was starting to build. Now he felt like he was finally getting somewhere.

He didn't mind the sweat, as that would be washed off later. The burn in his muscles felt good. He wanted more.

Once they had finished, Maq said, "You can do those first thing in the morning, or later in the afternoon. I don't suggest doing them before bed, unless you're fond of not sleeping." With a broad grin, he added, "If you're not worn out already, I can show you a couple of boxing moves."

The plant feien nodded. "That would be great!" He made a mental checklist of what all he had done, to be sure to do it later again. He wasn't worn out, a little tired, but learning some boxing moves would rock.

"First, the stance. The way you stand is important, since it helps you keep your balance, and makes it easier to move out of the way." Maq demonstrated where one put their feet, upper body shifted slightly away from one's opponent, then lifted his arms into the typical boxing pose, fists before his face. "Like this. Make sure you feel balanced. Got it?"

Ian copied his move, his own fists up before his face. He nodded, feeling balanced. He bounced a little on the balls of his feet, his wings dropped down behind him. "So who'll throw the first punch?"

"You." Maq took a deep breath, then shook his head out and grinned, a gleam in his orange eyes. "I want you to hit me as hard as you can."

He blinked, smirking. He threw a left hook as hard as he could towards Maq, aiming for his chin. He was sure Maq could dodge, cause he certainly didn't want to harm the guy. Aria would kill him.

While he could have dodged, he didn't, instead letting the muscles in his neck loosen so that when the hit connected, along the side of his jaw, his head whipped to that side. The momentum forced Maq to take a step in that direction as well, so as not to lose his sense of balance. He'd wanted to see exactly how strong the guy was, after all, and that was sure as hell a good way to find out.

Giving his head another shake, this time to clear out some of the tiny white spots that floated before his eyes, Maq moved back into position and laughed. "Good, good. You're not afraid of a little contact." His fists came back up, and he jabbed forward lightly, as if he were punching at Ian, though he drew up and back before his fist came anywhere near landing. "Get you some form, and we'll be set." The flesh along his jaw was already discoloring, which Maq wouldn't notice and do something about until later.

Ian was surprised Maq actually let him hit him. He was sure the heat feien would dodge. He smirked, until he noticed his jaw was discoloring. Well, he certainly wouldn't tell Aria, when she re-emerged. She would kill him.

He watched, unflinching as Maq threw punches at him, but would pull back before getting hit. "Lets get me some form then!" He was itching to do this, cause it was fun.

Maq gave the boy points for enthusiasm, and began to show him the various punches that could be used in boxing. The legal ones, at least. Jabs, feints, uppercuts, roundhouses... While they were at it, he gave examples of sidestepping, twisting to avoid a hit, how best to retaliate when one's opponent was overextended. Just disjointed examples for now; practical use would come after Ian had mastered some of this.

Ian grinned. Some of these moves reminded him of Street Fighter. He was sure he'd get these down. And it was fun! He copied the moves, trying to get them all down in his head. Maq was a great teacher.

Once he was certain Ian had the moves down, Maq began to string them together. "You might have to shadowbox at first," he stated, after a series of combinations. "At least until you get some sort of punching bag set up. Shadow's good for building up speed, but it's the 'bag that'll get you used to hitting something with resistance."

Deep orange rays of sun began to filter through the window to their side, casting long shadows along the window seat as the afternoon approached evening. Those same rays caught a pillow in the far corner of the room, exposing a small blue Feien and her accompanying spike-laden bloom to view. Her sapphire eyes watched the males with disinterest, following their movements languidly. Maq seemed not to notice her; at least, if he knew she was there, he was doing a damned good job of ignoring her presence.

Ian nodded, not entirely sure what to make a punching bag out of. Maybe a scrap of leather. He'd figure it out later. Right now he was more concerned with getting the moves down.

Out of the corner of his eye, Ian caught the glimpse of blue. Aria's shade. He looked over, but noticed it wasn't her. He had hoped it was, cause he had hoped to see her. "Who's that?" he asked Maq, returning back to practicing.

"Quantel," Maq answered simply, watching Ian as he practiced. He didn't know Ian well enough to feel right in warning him away from the female, so he didn't say anything else. "Keep your elbows closer in," he warned, reaching out a hand to tap Ian's exposed ribs as he said this.

Quantel shifted her position so that she curled closer to the bloom, slipping her hands among the many spikes that jutted out of it. Her head turned away from the others, hair falling in a wave to hide her face from them while simultaneously exposing the cool white curve of her neck.

Ian nodded, bringing his elbows in closer when Maq tapped his chest. He couldn't help but glance back at her, noticing the curve of her neck. Hmmm...looked inviting. Of course, he knew nothing of the girl.

He kept practicing, wanting to get better and maybe attract her attention.

Maq was wrapping up their practice when Tera stepped into the doorway of the room. She leaned against the jab, watching the two males for a moment, before smiling and stating, "It's almost time for dinner, Maq. Your friend is welcome to stay if he wants."

The red Feien glanced outside in surprise, then back towards his Bond. "Sure thing, Ter. We'll be down in a min." As he turned his attention to Ian, he raised a brow. "How 'bout it? You ready to brave another meal with the folks?"

Seeing that Maq was being suitably hospitable, Tera moved over to where Quantel and the bloom lay. Quantel, already knowing that Tera would want her to come to dinner as well, began to levitate the bloom with her powers, to which Tera smiled and cupped her hand under the spiky thing. Next the Shadow Feien lifted herself, long wings extending for balance as she lit upon Tera's left shoulder. The trio left the room without a word to the pair at the window.

The green feien nodded. Rynn wouldn't mind him staying longer. "Heh, wasn't that bad before, you know?" he said with a smirk. Really, they all seemed friendly, save for Quantel. Now she was a mystery, and Ian liked that. Maybe he'd see more of her at dinner.

He watched her use her powers, impressed. He wished he had some cool powers like that, but he'd deal with what he had. Maybe he'd learn how to fight properly and his powers wouldn't matter so much.

"Before was nothing. Dinner..." Maq trailed off, then laughed in what could be taken as a very nefarious manner. "Well, you'll see." Starting to lift off from the window seat, Maq looked between the wide open door and the closed window behind them, thinking.

Deciding it'd probably be faster to go the outside route, Maq spoke to no one in particular, "Walt, can you get the window for me?" On command, the window opened, and Maq darted outside, confident that Ian would follow.

Ianios blinked, looking around to see if anyone else had come in. But there was no one around. So how did the window open on its own? It was creepy. Were there ghosts in this place? A shiver shot through him and he bolted out of the house.

"There's going to be one ******** of a scrum in the hall," Maq offered as way of an explanation, flying at what was a rather sedate pace for himself towards the opposite corner of the first floor of the House. "Dinner's about the only meal that everyone here eats." Even from where they were, a line of large winged cats could be seen waiting at the open backdoor to the kitchen.

The House

Quote:
Ian blinked, flying at a slow pace bwhind Maq. It gave him some more cooling off time and he enjoyed it. He couldn't believe how crowded it was getting. Back home there wasn't this much going on for dinner. Generally it was a time to get together, hang out, and talk.

"Damn..." Crazy household Maq had.

Instead of heading through the door, past which Ian could make out many other creatures, including all of the ones he had seen before, Maq dropped down and flew in through an open window, landing on the sill and waiting for Ian to join him. Just beneath the window lay a counter covered with all manner of dishes, filled to the brim of steaming pasta casseroles, large fluffy biscuits, steamed vegetables, and fresh salads. The ram-horned man stood at said counter, filling plates and handing them out to each creature that approached.

Ian landed behind Maq, dropping his wings. It was almost like home, but back home there wasn't this many! He sniffed the air, his stomach starting to growl. It smelt good! He turned to the heat feien. "So how do we get in on this? "

Before Maq could reply, a small green creature emerged from the curtains, placing itself between Ian and the food. "You don't, bug boy," the thing sneered, ruby eyes glinting dangerously. "You fairy freaks aren't welcome here."

Folding his arms over his scarred chest, Maq glared down at the Sigil, who was not even the same height as Ian. His voice, however, was jovial when he stated, "Meet Kef. Littlest p***k this side of Miz's pants."

Ian laughed. He glared down at the Sigil, shaking his head. "Ok, whatever."

With a curl of his lip, Kef snarled, "Get the redhead to tell you how he got that mark sometime." A single claw jutted out in the direction of Maq's chest, before the green one scuttled back off into the curtains.

Shaking his head, Maq laughed. "Don't mind him." He stepped forward, to the edge of the sill, then looked down at the counter beneath them. Judging a clear spot, Maq jumped off and landed, between a plate of rolls and a bowl of applesauce.

Ian had seen the scar, but hadn't really thought anything of it. Well, seems feien weren't immune to real attacks. Good. He liked a challenge. He watched Maq jump and land between the rolls and applesauce and followed suit.

Except, he didn't land on his feet. More like his rear. Ian had misjudged, causing the green feien to laugh as he got back up. "Watch out, last step is a doozy!"

Glancing back over his shoulder, Maq shook his head slightly, chuckling. "Looks like we'll have to work on your balance too, at some point." He turned and saw that the ram-horned man was holding out a pair of soda caps to him, which Maq took with a nod of thanks. Passing one back to Ian, he gestured to the food with his own.

"Just grab what you want." That said, Maq immediately started helping himself to some hash browns.

Ian smirked, accepting the cap and looked around. It all looked good so he had trouble deciding. Finally he settled on some hashbrowns, like Maq, then wandered over to the meat. Grabbing a small handful, he went around to the vegtables, loading his "plate." Rynn would have frowned so bad on him, stealing off the larger plates. Finding himself a seat, he dug in. "Tera's quite the chef!" he remarked with a mouthful of meat.

Maq's laugh was so sudden that he almost choked on the mouthful of sweet potato casserole he had just shoved into his cheek. Coughing wetly, he shook his head until he managed to clear his throat enough to gasp, "Tera burns water." A couple of swallows and he was able to add, "All this is thanks to Rith over there," indicating the ram-horned man with a jerk of his thumb. Rith smiled as if he could hear the pair conversing, but he appeared to be wrapped up in serving roasted chicken to a trio of Zurui.

Having filled his own cap to the brim, mostly with proteins and starches, Maq began to make his way along the counter, away from the buffet, looking for a place where they could sit without having to endure the hands constantly reaching for grub. When he finally found a suitable area, next to a gleaming chrome appliance of some sort, he dropped into a seated position with a happy sigh. Their spot gave a clear view of the kitchen and all that were currently crammed inside of it, while coincidently be on the exact opposite of the room from where Quantel and the bloom had been settled.

Ian blinked, blushing. "Sorry. Rynn does all our cooking, save for the grilling. I just assumed..." He was bright red now, not meaning to sound insulting to Rith. He glanced down to his "plate," still blushing. Glancing back up, he offered Rith a smile, meaning to tell the ram-horned man how sorry he was.

Taking a bite of hashbrowns, he looked around, spying Quantel and the bloom. In a way, she reminded him of Aria, but she was different. Just something about her. He didn't know what, but he wanted to know more. "Tell me about Quantel."

Chewing slowly, Maq thought about the question, and instead decided to address the first issue. "Don't worry about it too much. Before Rith came, Ter had her turn for meal-making, just like all the other tall two-footers." With a half-grin, he lifted up a chunk of fried potato. "'Course, her turns usually served up sandwiches or cold leftovers, more often than not." He bit down on the potato with a loud crunch.

As for the question... He knew he'd better keep to facts, after everything Tera had said to him regarding Quantel. Once the mouthful was swallowed, he stated, his expression growing less jovial than it had been, "Quantel's younger than I am about a couple of weeks. She's a Shadow Feien, and the only friends she had have moved." His fingers curved around the hash brown, and he shoved it into his mouth again for another bite.

"Rynn's teaching Malthuis to cook. He's a good kid, but lousy at cooking." He picked up a bite of green bean, and popped it into his mouth, chewing. It was really good, almost like what Rynn made. "But he's trying. He is much better at reheating frozen dinners though." Ian laughed. He liked the kid, he did, but he knew not to eat too much of his cooking.

"So basically you grew up together," The green feien stated."And all her friends have moved? That's a shame. I wouldn't mind getting to know her." Granted, he missed the tone of Maq's voice, kinda watching the shadow feien out of the corner of his eye. Gods, there was something about her...

Feeling a faint twinge of discomfiture, Maq shifted his position, not looking over in Quantel's direction. "Don't make decisions for others, Maq. Let them see for themselves." Tera's words came back to him, and he hoped that she was right. Didn't mean he had to fully support the idea, though. His shoulders rose and fell in a shrug. "Haven't most of our friends moved? I think we've all lost folks." He picked out a shred of cabbage, bit into it thoughtfully, then added, "The two of us don't get along very well; Ter says that's because we're so different. But if you want to give it a shot, feel free."

The Shadow Feien across the room seemed to be paying little attention to any save the bloom beside her. A soda cap lay near her knee, but she gave it as little a thought as to the rest of the room. Long fingers curling around one spike, she smoothed her other hand over a petal, leaning forward so that her forehead nearly touched the bloom.

Ianios nodded. "Too true. There's plenty that seem to just up and vanished." He sighed, thinking back to Celaien's gemstone, tucked away in his bed. He didn't sleep with the gemstone, just kept it there while he was up and about. And Aria had lost a good many friends as well, with most moving away.

He looked down at his plate, trying to decide. He got along fairly well with Maq, and Aria. Maybe she wasn't all that different. He set the soda cap down beside him. He could at least give her a shot. He grinned at Maq. "Be right back!"

He got up, flying over to Quantel. Landing nearby, but not too close, he slightly bowed. "Evening, Quantel. Pretty bloom you have there."

Quantel glanced upwards briefly, taking him in before lowering her gaze again. Her voice was soft, yet carrying, and bearing the same hints of the strange accent that Tera's words had. "The bloom belongs to my Bond, not I." She seemed to pull closer to the bloom, almost fearfully. "I thank you though, for your kind words."

Ian smiled. "But it seems to be more under your care than hers, am I right?" He asked gently, looking at the bloom and back to Quantel. "It's a very interesting bloom. Dangerous looking. And I happen to like danger."

"Teralinth has many of us to show attention to." The tone wasn't bitter, merely wistful. As she stroked one of the spikes, her shoulders shivered beneath her hair. Another glance in his direction, though she dared not meet his eyes. "You are Ianios, aii?"

"Aye, that I am. Come to train under Maq's direction." He gave her a sly smile, wondering why her shoulders shivered. Was she cold? He liked the fact she knew his name. He would have rumbled in pleasure if he had known how.

"Cold? I could get you something to cover up with."

The tiniest of smiles curved her full lips. "Nay, I be not cold." At the mention of Maq, she ventured a glance across the room, but the red Feien was studiously ignoring what was occurring on this side of the counters. "Maquinar is a fine warrior; I am certain you shall flourish under his tutelage." For some reason, the idea of this did not seem to completely please her, a dejected hue tinting her words.

Ian ignored the dejection in her voice. He had wanted to be a warrior since he emerged. Why, he couldn't place his finger on it, but it was there. "Thank you, I certainly intend to try." Maybe she didn't like strong guys, he didn't know, but he would be strong. He had to be, for his adventuring.

Well, he couldn't make her like that fact, She was her own person. He smiled at her. "If the lady will excuse me, I'd like to get back to dinner, then I must be off. It grows late."

She inclined her head slightly. "Be well, and the best of luck in your endeavors." Her own dinner, a few grains of rice and a sliver of chicken, lay untouched in its cap, and most likely would remain so long after he had left.

Ian bowed lightly to her, taking wing to return to Maq. "Damn, I like her!" he exclaimed once he landed. He was kinda glowing. Now, if it turned into anything more, that was up to Quantel, but Ian secretly wished it would.

He sat back down, trying to eat slowly, but his stomach was up in knots. So it was all he could do to choke down the food, as good as it was.

A non-committal grunt was Maq's response, as he tucked another wad of bread into his mouth. Ian seemed to be a cleaver guy; he'd figure out soon enough what Q was really like. Hell, if worse came to worse, Aria would tell him. That idea perking him up, Maq finished swallowing and announced, "You do those exercises I showed you, with the routines, and come back... How's next week sound?" Nodding to himself, Maq figured it'd be good, since a week would give Ian enough time to start to get things down.

Ian nodded. Sounded good to him. He could practice, exercise and soon he'd be a great warrior, able to adventure freely. Without worry of getting hurt ot anything. Able to defend those he cared about.

He tried finishing off dinner, but the knots in his stomach and all, he just wasn't able too. "Sure thing. Looking forward to it." He set the cap aside, standing back up. "I think I better head for home. See if Aria has emerged yet and all. Thanks for dinner."

"Not a problem." Grinning up at Ian, Maq set his own cap on his knee. "Make sure she gets my note, eh?"

"Will do." He gave Maq a grin and headed out the way he came, someone practicing as he flew home.

Rynn carefully opened the door to the cottage. She had decided to come home, but had no idea what to expect. Had Naaro left, leaving her pets behind to fend for themselves? Or would he forgive her, as she wanted to forgive him?

She walked into the house, looking around in the living room. There was no one there, and she headed down the hall towards the back of the house. Maybe he was there. She peered into the bedroom, spying Naaro. She smiled, sneaking up behind him as he folded clothes on the bed.

Rynn wrapped her arms around his waist, hugging herself to him, her cheek nuzzling his back. He froze, turning back to look at her. His face softened. "Rynn..." he managed to say.

She looked up at him, her eyes shining. "I'm sorry, Naaro. I truely am...it was stupid..."

Naaro turned around, wrapping his own arms around her, hugging her. He bent over a little, kissing her forehead. "It's alright. "I'm sorry as well. We shouldn't fight like that. You had us all worried."

Rynn nodded. "I went to a friend's house. He let me stay a few days."

"That's alright. I'm glad you're home."

"Me too."
