"Hmm, thanks," Andou answered absently as his mind was FULLY on the food. "Actually..." he paused, considering whether he should continue and eventually deciding it was okay to. "I'm a bit surprised myself that it's so clean. It's the first time I've been back home for quite a while." Of course, Andou didn't elaborate.
After he finished stocking the fridge, he turned curiously towards Gwyn. "Are you all right, Yubei?" he asked before motioning to the remainder of the people that had arrived. Sure, there were only 4 helpers in total, but that was enough. "By the way, Murakami is totally correct." This was said in a cheerful tone which was surprising not because of its inflection but merely because of its emotionality. Sure, Andou had changed, but outwardly he was still working at showing his totally weird internal, real self. "You're getting something out of this, of course. Come.
"We'll all prepare the food together." Andou fully intended to slack and only provide advice, but he didn't mention that. "I need a few people to slice the fish while the rice cooks. After that, we'll have to put the sushi together, but we'll get on to that when we have to. Oh, and we can make some salad to eat while the rice cooks." Andou also had not forgotten Gennosuke's jibe. "Murakami, you can help me slice the lettuce." He busied himself with giving the rice a few washes and eventually turned the rice cooker on. Then, he took some salmon, tuna and snow crab, as well as some vegetables, out of the fridge and laid them all out on the kitchen counter. "Knives and chopping boards are in the second drawer from the bottom."

Tenshi was so excited he was the first one up and ready to get the food prepared to eat it. He washed off his hands before grabbing a knife and cutting board from the indicated drawer and picked up the salmon and placed it on the cutting board. Using the sharp knife he took off the fins and began cutting the skin off very delicately, being sure not to cut himself, or cut too deep. When the skin was off the first fish he grabbed the next one and did the same thing. He had never prepared sushi himself, so this was a learning experience. The next step he would take is gutting the fish, one of his least favorite tasks, yet necessary, in order to eat the delicious meal that had yet come.

Keon made it over to Andou's house just as everyone started to cook. He caught the last half of the instructions and got to work cutting the fish just after he washed his hands. He cut the head off the fish and sliced the scales off. He did a good job on the fish and moved on to another. Keon liked the smell of fresh fish, which he preferred to red meat or poultry. He could tell that this would be a good day.

Keon then cut off the tail and filleted the fish. Extracting the bone slowly so not to have any break off in flesh of the tender fish. He made single cuts through the fish splitting it in half. The bones came out through the opening and Keon placed the entire skeleton save the head on a plate besides the cutting board he was working on.

Tenshi had begun gutting the fish and doing a fairly decent job of it. He had two of them done when he went to wash them out. On his way over to the sink, he stumbled over something on the ground as some of the fish fell to the floor. "Great... Sorry Andou sensei. I will clean it up." Taking his manners with him from home, if he made a mess he would clean it up. The Fubuki clan is often referred to as the Hyūga clan of Kirigakure. In the clan their were thirteen sects. Six were considered the main family, which Tenshi was in, six more were the branch family, and one was the head family. He had been used to servants, or maids, however in the economic crisis of the clan, his family had removed theirs from service and was taught to clean up after himself. Some of the clan looked at it as a bad thing, while Tenshi had seen a different perspective. He not only wanted to regain the clan's honor, but to recreate it and make it better. He grabbed a rag as he soaked it with water and cleaned up the mess he had made, setting the dropped fish to the side. If we will not eat it, then I will save it for someone in need of it. He didn't know any homeless people off the top of his head, but he figured it was the thought that counts.

Keon began to cut the two halves into manageable chunks. The knife was sharp so it made it easier to keep the pieces even in size. He managed to cut each half into four more pieces. However After seeing their size when he was done would need to cut them into smaller portions. Keon started salivating from just cutting the fish knowing that the meal that his class was making together was going to be worthwhile.

Gennosuke grabbed a head of lettuce and placed it on the counter so that he could grab the cutting board and a knife. Once he obtained his utensils he cut the bottom of the lettuce off and threw it in the trash. he was sure no one wanted to eat the dirt covered stem. "So Andou-senpai where have you been all this time?" he asked curiously however keeping his eyes on the lettuce. "I'm sure you've had a grand adventure," he stated hoping he would be told about some great mission he undertook for the village or something.

Keon dug the knife into the fish parting its flesh once more. After he made this set of cuts he would have sixteen evenly sized portions of tuna fish. Each cut he made was good so far and he was actually having fun cutting the tuna. He drifted off into thoughts of becoming a chef instead of a ninja. However he liked punching people in the face fat more than this and most likely always would.

Tenshi quickly caught up with a different salmon and cut them from the butt end of the salmon up to the abdomen, between the two pelvic fins and ending just below the jaw. He made sure to cut with the very tip to avoid cutting too deep. He spread open the salmon and emptied the guts into a bowl. He looked over at Keon, who he had not met before. "I am Tenshi Fubuki, I do not believe we have met yet. I would shake your hand, however it is full of fish organs," he said smiling and giving a small chuckle. He ran his fingers inside the fish, along the backbone to check for any remaining organs or blood.

  Gwyn, although one of the first to arrive, was the last to get started with the task at hand. Sure Andou had said they collectively they would have been enough, and that doing each bit together would have been overall faster, but her peers seemed to think otherwise. Gwyn thought tentatively about how she would approach this unorthodox training. She could join Tenshi is slicing the tuna bits, but he seemed to have a handle with that already, she could have helped Gennosuke, but he seemed powerful enough to slice a bit of lettuce on his own. Lastly she could have assisted Keon, but she didn't know him, and really didn't feel like being all that social at the moment anyways. So finally making up her mind to go off and do her own thing Gwyn srugged washing her hands. The water felt welcoming on her dirt covers hands, and the clean sensation they brought almost made Gwyn dread getting back outdoors.
Having washed her hands Gwyn made her way towards the supplies and reached for the cylindrical vegetable. She took a knife in the other hand and made her way to open counter space. She placed out her cutting board and placed the object onto it, holding the middle of it with her left hand and finding the end of it tentatively with her knife edge. As soon as she found the edge of the cucumber she raised her knife, getting ready to cut off a slice of the silly looking vegetable.
She kept raising her knife getting ready to slice a bit off and finally she plunged it down with such great force that it got lodged in her board. It had of course missed the cucumber completely making Gwyn look like an idiot. But it wasn't really her fault, after all who was the one letting the blind student play with knife? ANDOU! Gwyn attempted to dislodge the knife using both hands, but slipped when it finally came out, throwing the knife into the air. Gwyn lay on the floor focusing on the knife. It span and span until it finally began to drop, blade first of course, to words her face. The knife lightly clattered inches from Gwyns face, and she didn't flinch. She simply rolled over, picked up the knife, washing it off and grumbled to herself. "Stupid sensie making blind kids play with knifes."

One of the benefits to living in Kirigakure was that there was mostly water around it, and with water comes.... fish, obviously. Fish was pretty much the diet of anyone here and most knew how to prepare it. Tenshi had seen it done many times, and started doing it himself just recently. After finishing two of the salmon he grabbed another one from the counter. The salmon must have been some of the smaller ones caught from the fishermen, but people needed to make a living, even if they don't catch the biggest fish. He went to begin cutting the skin and scales off, but went too deep and cut off some of the meat. Oops... now this one will just take some more time to fix...
Tenshi noticed Gwyn get up and start preparing the cucumber when the incident with the knife took place. It happened so fast he didn't have time to attempt at catching the knife, but luckily Gwyn was alright. Perhaps I will help her once I am finished with the salmon... He didn't want to come across as sympathetic, but just wanted to help out, even if it came to holding the cucumber in place, although he wouldn't feel safe doing it, he would. "You alright Gwyn?" He didn't know if she sustained any other injuries, and wanted to make sure everything was ok before he went back to cutting the salmon.

The young boy was almost finished with the tuna. All that was left for now was cutting the other half like the first one. However his of tangent thought about punching people in the face caused him to forget about his task. He sliced the plate with the fish bones on it. The change in substance made him pick the knife up quickly. I Have to be more careful next time.

Kuri grabbed a small cutting board and a paring knife from the drawer and found some counter space before retrieving the carrots. He grabbed a fistful of carrots and set them on the counter next to the board and picked up the knife by the blade, flipping the instrument in the air before catching it by the handle, the blade facing down and everything.
Laying one of the carrots down, he pressed the knife gently against the head, nearly parallel to the contour of the vegetable before running the blade down the length of it, peeling the outermost layer away strip by strip. He set the first layer aside for composting or other disposal, depending on what Andou wanted, before repeating the process to create small thin strips of carrot. These, they would use to fill Maki. He continued until there was hardly anything left, just some bits that were too thin for him to cut, and too thick for them to use. He put these with the outer layer pile.

Andou merely nodded and waved a hand at Tenshi and the fallen fish to tell him that it was okay. But of course to try not to repeat the action. Quizzically, Andou watched as Tenshi kept the contaminated fish, but decided that it wasn't his business who he was keeping the food for. I mean, it was useless anyway and it had been an accident so it wasn't like he was taking too much of what Andou was offering. He only hoped that Tenshi knew the rules of basic food hygiene.
He then turned at a sudden clatter and almost had a heart attack as Gwyn slammed the knife down right next to her fingers!!! And then she threw the knife into the air! Andou had to admit that the girl had balls, though. The knife was obviously not going to hit her, but unlike most others, the thought and sight of a knife falling down on her did not panic Gwyn and she just stood still waiting for the knife to land and miss her. And yeah, maybe she could have been blind too, but the first reason was really a lot cooler and more compelling. To Andou.
He smirked briefly as Gennosuke and everyone else got to work. He'd missed having hustle and bustle in his kitchen, in fact he hadn't had that since his very first batch of students back when he was fresh out of CORAL. To pretend he was doing something, he also grabbed a head of lettuce, but merely held it as he watched the others work and chatted with Gennosuke. "Oh..." he replied vaguely. "I've been places. Had a stint in the Fire Country. Went up to Kumogakure quite a bit. It's quite a nice village... it's not the same as home, though." He had the feeling that Gennosuke was looking for something more impressive than what had actually happened. "What about you, Murakami? What have you been up to the past two years?"

He hoped to visit these villages one day with Andou. Once Andou asked about his past two years Gennosuke got quiet. He wasn't sure if Andou would be happy with him not really improving in his ninja studies since he had been gone.
He chopped the head of lettuce into two parts while thinking about his depression he went into when Andou left. "Nothing really Graduated from the academy, worked with my mom for a while, and then got sick," he explained trying to bring out a smile. "I tried to train a little and I did a little stint at the hospital to try and dabble in Medical Ninjutsu and training but I didn't get very far," he said a bit disappointed in himself.
