Ona shook her head in disappointment.
“Did you forget us again?!” She said sadly. After a few minutes of Ona just staring at Kamea, Ona looked down at the ground, disappointment filled her face.

 Lifting his shoulder to let Ona replace the verdant herbs easy, Nereus shot her a nervous smile. He didn't like being taken care of, but he supposed it would have to be that way. It seemed like only yesterday when she was only a rina, and now look! If not for her, he'd be writhing in pain.
Snapping his head to Kamea, he attempted to get up so they could have a proper conversation, realizing that the new herbs worked just as well, maybe even better. Experimentally sitting on his hind legs he let his unfathomable expression cover the chaos he was feeling inside.
"W-we're not dangerous. We were just looking for you, Kamea." he noted quietly, avoiding her gaze though that was the main purpose of him getting up.
Risking a glance at Ona, he frowned, realizing that she was feeling the same.

Kamea relaxed and looked from one to the other with a happy smile, "Oh. That's nice to be cared for and worried about." Her tail flicked back and forth in a manner which clearly indicated how oblivious she was to the situation. "We should still get going, I bet you're both hungry. I am." She looked at Nereus' wound, "Are you sure you'll be ok? I can fly and bring food back really quickly." She offered brightly, trying to help and not realizing how ludicrous the idea must sound now after only just recently nearly losing them.

“No Auntie it’s okay. I’ll just carry him.” Ona said facing Kamea before turning towards Nereus.
“Sorry cuis but you’re gonna have to get off you high horse and let me carry you.”

Nereus looked astonished at both the females, laughing nervously. Tangerine eyes flicking over the playing light in the forest, he managed a smile and a grunt as he got to his feet, experimentally cantering in a circle. There was a limp evident, but he seemed to be alright, and catching both Kamea and Ona's eye, he winked.
"If I let you get food for me, or, my goodness, let Ona carry me there'd be nothing left of my pride. I'm still a man, remember?" he teased, bounding forward to the two with gratitude.
"But you both saved me. Thank you." he offered, sweeping a bow and eyeing them playfully. Hiding the grimaces of pain, he walked forward, tilting his head delicately towards the stream that they had come from. Youch, it was still pretty bad, but manageable now.
"Shall we go?"

Kamea raised an eyebrow at Nereus, "Are you sure? You'd still be a man even if you let two females care for you when you truly need it." She definitely lived in her own world sometimes, but she wasn't completely oblivious to someone in need at least.

Ona rolled her eyes.
“Men and their pride. You know to much of it could kill you.” She said begining to walk towards the stream

Flashing a smile at Kamea, Nereus laughed, waving off her comment with one chartreuse paw.
"I'll let that time come when it has to. But for now..." he trailed off, eyeing his wound skeptically, and then bringing his eyes to the winged female again, a lighter look on his face.
"-I'm quite sure this'll heal in time. I was probably exaggerating it," he dismissed, trying hard so that the girl wouldn't have to worry. Frankly, he worried for her, being so forgetful. Turning to share a frown with any trees that cared, he listen to Ona's words, letting out a breath in amusement.
Without looking back and picking himself over a few sharp branches his voice floated over with confidence,
"Then kill me it will. But I need my pride like I need my life. I just wish I was stronger."

Kamea blinked at him in confusion, "Surely a life, any life, is better than death?" She was concerned for him and her wings flitted gently against the soft breeze. "I like my life, despite my problem." She blushed, knowing it must still be strange for them, but in return it was doubly strange for her to have to trust them and be concerned for them without feeling any connection to them.

Ona looked at Kamea a bit before facing Nereus again.

Nereus shook his head, a jesting smile playing about his lips. She wouldn't understand, would she? Taking a breath, he hesitated before he gave his answer, afraid it would put up more barriers between them.
"Of course life is important. But life is nothing without pride. I've lost so much bride already I really do regret some things that I did." he stated carefully, trodding on the soil lightly as if it would break with every step.
Smiling at Ona, he shook his head again.
"Really, I'm alright. It's just a bit of a limp. And we're all hungry, aren't we?" he laughed, holding his good paw to his stomach.

Kamea blankly stared at Nereus then shrugged, she turned to Ona, "Maybe it's a boy specific problem?" She walked on, quite oblivious to the deeper issues at hand and just hoped things would be ok.

Ona looked at Kamea.
“Nah, it’s just a guy thing.” she said rolling her eyes. Ahead she saw the stream and she immediately ran and jumped into it.
“Aww feels just as good as before.” She said with a smile hopeing the water would wash away all the bad things

Nereus managed a small shrug in return, waltzing through the greenery into the nostalgic place where he had met the three earlier. Except now there was no Odelay, and Kamea was almost a different person. Biting his lip, he walked daintily into the stream and splashed Ona the way they had played earlier, a small smile painting his countenance.
"It does, doesn't it?" he laughed pleasantly, gesturing for Kamea to get in.

Kamea's face broke into a bright smile and she gingerly walked up to the edge of the water. She stuck the edge of her paw in. "Isn't that a bit cold?" She eyed the water and lifted her paw up to drink from it.
She was grinning the whole time, pretending at not wanting to get wet.
