If I get one of the games which should I get? Villian? Hero? is there a difference?

Only in choice. They both play the same, but since CoH has been around for a while, there's way more content for it then CoV. Heroes go all the way up to 50, but villains stop at 40. There's nothing different in PvP zones, since they restrict your level. The villains get better costume options than the heroes. Heroes run off to save stuff, villains rob banks and kidnap innocent victims. Strangely enough, you fight a lot of the same guys, whether you're good or bad.

Im guessing you can only be a hero on CoH and only a villain on CoV. I used to play WoW, but I gave it up for Gaia. You used to be able to find me on the Dalaran server as Curunir.
On City of _____, for the most part, who do you guys usually play as? If I were to get the game it would only be so I can play with people I know.

Yes, but you do meet up and fight and s**t like the Alliance and Horde. So it's like if WoW was split into two versions; one for Alliance and one for Horde.
