not everyone who drinks alchohol will somehow hurt someone else, only those that are irresponsible.

Hence the idea of only letting people old enough to be responsible consume alcohol, and MY idea of testing and penalties to make sure they are responsible.

Alright..on the various things I read on this page.

As a generalization and of my own observations, Americans want alchohol -now- instead of when its legal for them because we are denied it. If we were to have it as apart of our meals and accepted there would probably be a lot less accidents and such. Ive been intoxicated and I only hurt myself by falling off the back of a hotel bed in Italy. Yes, lower the drinking age in America and teach us to drink responsibility without being jerks about it.

Guns. Well, this one is a toughy. If we didnt have guns legally then we'd get them illegaly or find substitutes. It the human nature to cause and be apart of conflict, pain, misery, and ultimately death. We cannot deny our nature and instinct but only try to curb it.

Smoking is causing damage to others as well as yourself. I do not like smoking, I do not smoke but I do realize that it the person's right to harm their body if they wish. Just, please, keep it away from me.

Pornography..oh boy. I will not lie; I read Japanese hentai translated into English, I have downloaded hentai and porn, I have seen it, and I didenjoy it. It your right to be in it, it is your right to see it in your own home, and is nothing to be ashamed of. Dont let it ruin your relationships with significant others however. Legal age? Sixteen is ok, eighteen is preferable. Talk about it with your children..!

Marriage is for love despite sexual orientation, age, race, or whatnot. End of story.

Death penalty. I think when the person does something truly horrible that they should pay for it and the death penalty is too easy. Prison is equally too easy. I am a sadistic person who does enjoy causing others pain but I firmly believe in 'an eye for an eye'. If they simply killed someone..kill them. If they were a serial killer and ate their victims well, give them the same treatment. Cook 'em, dead or alive. Dont eat them! ^^;

Uhh..New question!

Question - What is the typical definition of a serial killer? (I know the answer. XD)

The problem with that is there are 40 year olds with the maturity of infants, and 14 year olds with the maturity of the average adult. Generalizing like that isn't going to solve anything, and whether you test people or not some will still be irresponsible.

I don't see a problem with the mature 14-year-olds, it's not as though not drinking will harm them. And there aren't very many to begin with, especially when you consider that intelligence does NOT equal maturity.( Many 14-year-olds who are thought to be mature are actually not emotionally mature, only intellectually.)
As for the immature 40-year-olds, that's true. But setting some resrictions is not a bad way of averting a percentage of the disasters.

Yes, and if a 14-year-old is intellectually mature, then they wouldn't be drinking in the first place.

*Yays Metabolic and continues to sit and listen*

He makes a good point... Drinking is know where near a
sign of maturity if you are talking about it in the way my
mind seems to place it in my head. Stupidity is a better
word... Correct me if I am wrong.

Not necessarily. I don't drink much myself( and never did pre-21, except champagne at New Year's), but it isn't a BAD thing.
Just too easy to overdo. Most people are not responsible enough to use alcohol. This is particularly true of young drinkers.
My point, actually, was that intellectual maturity is insufficient in this scenario, and responsible use of alcohol requires both intellectual maturity, which a number of young people in today's world have, and emotional maturity, which most of them lack.

I collect swords. Which tends to creep those around me out. Can't figure out why...^_^

I can't think of a decent question, so here goes:

If you were on a desert island, what three items would you take with you?

(I'm such a loser. whee Sorry for the incredibly pathetic question.)

Q:are online relationships worth it?

A:In my opinion, there is a possibility that they can go very far, A woman I work with, well, she met her current and well only husband online, she lived in canada, he lived in germany, for 2 r so years they lived there, now they live here. But personally, I have had only failures with those so, I kinda just... I don't believe in them too much.

Q: Have you ever come across an animal such as a baby bird and tried to take care of it, only finding that you are unable to meet it's requirements for nurturing?

This is when I laugh, but get dissapointed in Canadian-american relations. We really are quite the beautiful country.
It is beautiful, and it's regrettable that there are people that can't see it. We live in a world that continues to focus on the horrible things life has to offer. Often, the only time we do recognize the faint shine of wonder is when it leaves us.

...I've figured it out! Gaia is the reason why I don't update my journal with cheeseball comments. It just isn't the same when I've used my lamest material here. This is what I get for becoming a fine art student! whee

Yes. sad It was a mouse. As a senior prank a few years ago a bunch of students at my school bought a bunch of feeder mice and painted numbers on their backs and set them loose in the school. So I adopted one. It lived for quite a while, actually, but then my mother said she just couldn't take the smell anymore (stupid mother) and made me keep it outside. May I point out that we lived in Florida? It is hot in Florida. Keeping small animals outside just doesn't work. So, yeah. It died. Of...dehydration, I think. I know, isn't that horrible?

Question: Has anyone ever thought you were a member of the opposite sex? Please explain.
