When I get around to writing it, don't tip me until I actually finish it.
I'm so swamped right now that I'm barely up to being on the damned computer. -_-
Well, anyway, I MIGHT be able to start writing later next week. My summer college class is almost done. >_>

I'm looking out of a window, staring at the setting sun breaking through the clouds.
It's calming. Full of melancholy and hope.
...
It inspires me, I suppose, to live another day...

I think I'm going to distract myself and write some fanfiction for The World Ends With You. I just need a break from all the seriousness in the world, and I'll get back to writing everyone else's stuff after Otakon is over this weekend, I promise. DX

Plannin' on it. I'm going as a Prinny. biggrin
I got the first chapter done. Here:
Chapter 1: Twister
Talking. So much chattering and speaking that no one could avoid it. A single girl stood above these people, staring down at them with a single grey eye. Her other eye is no longer in its socket, and to compensate, she holds her right hand up to it. None of these people were staring at her. An ebony skinned girl, with no hair on her head or body, covered in camo clothing and missing an eye, is unnoticed by the three hundred or so people around her?
Impossible.
“What… What just happened?” The girl asked herself, staring down at her body. Her forest camo long cargo pants were still covered in pockets containing various items, her arctic camo long sleeve shirt was uncut and in perfect condition, and her desert camo vest still hung over her shoulders and over her torso. The entirety of her seven foot body, sans her eye, was in excellent condition. So why did something feel wrong?
She looked at her surroundings, trying to figure out exactly where she was. She noticed some red lights above her, and white lines on the road she was standing on. “… The Scramble Crossing?” She turned around, looking up for the giant screen that she noticed once when she was down here before. It was playing an advertisement for the Prince’s new product, “F YOU MAX,” a new energy drink.
She was sure now. She was in the Scramble Crossing, right in the center of it. “This means… Shibuya?” She asked herself, thinking for a quick moment. “… I’m nowhere NEAR home…” She thought, looking downward. “I’m nowhere NEAR Osaka…” She looked back upwards, towards the screen, trying to think of what she should do next. Suddenly, the screen blacked out. Snow appeared on the screen, covering it in annoying black and white. Suddenly, a man appeared on screen.
“ONE THREE THREE SEVEN, all you little doods!” He hollered, holding a microphone in his hand. He was wearing a zip-down hoodie with his torso showing. His skin was somewhat pale, and contrasted against the dark hoodie quite nicely. His pants were typical blue jeans. What stood out, though, was his pompadour: the thing was literally three feet in front of him, and was died a crazy green. His eyes were a light blue, and the entire smorgasbord of colors hurt the girl’s eyes for a few moments.
“SO! I hope you’re all listening in so you don’t have to go repeat this cutscene in the menu!” He continued, tossing the microphone back and forth in his hands. “You’ve all entered the multiplayer game known as The Reapers Game. I know, I know, multiplayer doesn’t provide a good story mode and a bunch of little punks might scream through the microphone to annoy you, but those are the stats you’ve rolled.” He stopped tossing the microphone back and forth, now staring directly at the camera.
“HOWEVER! This is actually a co-op game! You have to find a partner, quick, or you don’t stand a chance against the enemies!” He was getting slightly excited now, switching the microphone to his other hand. “Be careful, because you only get one choice! And since you’re all, you know, DEAD, that’s one of the prizes of winning the game! The other is whatever you paid as an entry fee! It’s like Pachinko: If you’re good enough, you get your balls back.” He slipped one hand into his pocket, with a grin covering his face.
“DEAD!?” The girl shouted out loud, staring straight at the screen. “I… I died!? How!?” She examined her body, looking for any marks of damage which could have resulted in death. Nothing. She started using both hands to search her pockets for a mirror, but then she realized; her eye. Where was it? “… Is that how I died? My eye…?” She stammered for a bit before the man in the screen began speaking again.
“Throughout the area are the mods, known as Reapers. They make sure you follow the rules. The admins are also Reapers, though, albeit they won’t hunt you down until the last day of the week. Which reminds me: this game lasts a week. Last until then for your extra life.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a cellphone. “This is what you use as the menu for the game. It’s kinda lame because it doesn’t pause the action, but it has everything you need on it, and each of you has one to call each other with. Unlimited minutes, too, so don’t worry about us charging you for it.” He slipped the phone back into his pocket, leaving his hand in there.
“Have any questions, ask a Reaper. I’ve told them to help you guys out because I’m the one in charge this week. You guys have to beat me, the final boss, at the end of the week in order to get your 100 yen piece to insert in the machine for the extra life.” He pointed at the screen, giving a small wink. “If you die, you don’t get a second life, so you better find a partner quick! The mission of the day is listed on your cellphone, so use that! I won’t send out any enemies until tomorrow so you all are fully prepared for the difficulty ahead. Of course, you only have about three hours to find a partner, so be quick about it. Good luck, though, as no living person can see you. When you do find a partner, make a pact. The Reapers Game is gonna start on Sweet ‘n Easy, but it’s gonna ramp up to Bitter ‘n Insane by the last day! So whatcha waitin’ for, doods and doodettes!? Go! The cutscene is over! Well, now it—“ the screen turned off, cutting the man off in the process.
The girl immediately reached into her pocket, pulling out a cellphone. “When did that…?” She didn’t finish that sentence, as the screen lit up. It read ‘Today’s mission: Find a partner and start co-opping! Fail and get the GAME OVER screen.’ “… Where would I find a partner?” She asked herself, slipping the cellphone into her pocket again. “ARGH!” She screamed, grabbing the hand covering her eye. A red light appeared, and dimmed a bit. “… A timer…?” She saw the time ticking down on her hand, beginning at three hours.
She stood up for a moment, slightly shaky, but quickly began moving. Hachiko is the gathering spot of Shibuya, so she immediately headed there. She only had three hours to do this, and she did NOT want to die on the first day. As soon as she reached the statue, she began searching. “I’m looking for a partner!” She called out once, hoping someone would respond. “Is anyone willing to partner up with me!?” She kept looking around, hoping someone would see her. “I’m looking for a-“
She felt a flying force hit her torso, knocking her down on her back. “MY PARTNER MY PARTNER SHE’S MINE!” Someone screamed, grabbing hold of the girl’s hand. “PACT!” The person was screaming rather loudly, and the girl was sick of it, so all she said was “Pact!” A bright light appeared above them for a quick moment, and a man in a red hoodie appeared.
“Pact recognized. You have five minutes until the day is over. We need to get rid of you guys until tomorrow so no one confuse you two for available partners. You won’t die; just enter sleep mode… Aw, wait, dammit, the guy is rubbing off on me! ****!” The man in red disappeared shortly after that, cussing softly under his breath.
She stood up and dusted herself off, her one, now timer-less hand still covering her eye and the other clearing herself. “Well, that was easier than expected!” She giggled, slipping hand into her pocket. “Admittedly, though, it was sort of rough…” She turned around to get a look at her partner. “My name is Crystal Sanaka. What’s yours?”
The person she saw was a girl that stood at five foot five inches. She had to stare up at Crystal to see her face. “Geez! You don’t blend in too well, do you?” She asked, shaking her head as she reached out her hand. Her eyes were both black, and her hair was a dark shade of black. She wore a white skull cap and her hair reached to the top of her neck, bending inward slightly due to the cap. Her skin was slightly tan, but blended in much better than Crystal’s skin. Her clothing consisted of a white hoodie and black jeans. “My name is Soiyumi Sanikoya! It’s a pleasure to meet you!” She couldn’t bring herself to look at Crystal directly in the face, so she kept her head down.
Crystal did not raise her hand. She bowed silently as Soiyumi looked at her. “Please. You found me. The pleasure is all mine.” She stood there and stared at her surroundings before talking again. “I don’t know how much more time we have left, but tomorrow, let’s try and talk more. I don’t think we have much time left.” Crystal looked down at Soiyumi and smiled. “Thank you for choosing me.”
Soiyumi tried to avoid speaking, but she was blushing far too much not to. She looked up slightly, staring at Crystal in the face. “I’m glad I did choose yo---“
Chapter 1: Twister – End.
