"It wouldn't surprise me in the least," Jess quipped. "Although L'mur's green firelizard is over a Turn old and hasn't mated yet." She shrugged. "All the best, I suppose. My brother doesn't really need to worry about randy firelizards just now!" Jessmet giggled. Even firelizard mating flights were supposed to be.. interesting, although certainly nothing as strong as the Queen's flight that had sent Siran up north to Krinn.
Az strutted up and down the table, threats of Ofira forgotten, thoroughly pleased with himself.

Nodding, Kallista could only watch the two males compete for the green's attentions. Follar had settled himself right in front of Beryl so as to block her view of the bronze. He would make sure that he was noticed!
"He is not that old, Follar. I was on a run and came to the weyr right after the mating flight. I was delayed because my orders were to give the message to the weyrleader of Rias and no one knew who it was yet."
Grabbing a piece of cheese and placing it on the bread, Kallista tossed the treat into her mouth and chewed happily. Cheese was rare in the station-hold though there was plently of fruit. Savoring the tastes, she nodded at Jessmet's comments. "I guess we won't know until it happens, now will we?"

((Sorry, you two... I'm exhausted. I'm going to head to bed. It's been fun.))
Siran fished her little green up from between the blue and the bronze. "Sorry, gentleman. Beryl needs sleep, and so do I." She smiled at Jessmet and Kallista. "I can only hope that it is a good long time before she decides to rise to mate. Here's to another couple of years without that." Beryl protested sleepily. She was enjoying the attentions of Follar and Az, and loathe to leave them. She did, however, give in when Siran gave her a stern look.
In the past when the little one had acted up, the rider had had Tiranth give her a set down. The firelizard remembered. "It was nice to speak with you Jessmet. I hope that you will continue to enjoy your stay here, both of you. Kallista, again, it was a pleasure." The firelizards, of course, were not part of that pleasure.
Poor Siran had had quite enough of the antics of the already present 'lizards, without the addition of new ones. Of course, she would no doubt spend a good deal of her time spoiling Beryl. It seemed that she attracted vain dragons and firelizards. A pity. "Farewell, you two. Keep that pair out of trouble." She sent a meaningful look in the direction of the bronze and blue.

"Here's hoping," Jess replied, lifting her mug in a sort of toast. "And it was very nice to see you again." Az made a little 'hrmph' noise. "And Beryl, too, of course. Give my regards to Tiranth." Jess smiled and waved as the greenrider left.
Turning to Kallista, Jess quirked an eyebrow. "You good to stick around for a while? Or do you have a run to make?"
With Beryl gone, Az was content to make friends with Follar again. He nibbled at a bit of cheese, humming happily.

((she has to get back to the station...so wrap up for now and sometime another encounter! *waves to cherie* Night, it was fun!))
Waving to Siran and Beryl, Kallista fondly called out to them both. "Well met, indeed rider Siran! And to you as well little one. Remember me if you ever need a runner. As for Follar...next time you see him, he may be tied down."
Watching the pair leave, Kallista looked outside and noted the sunmarking. Slurping up the last of her klah and grabbing one last piece of redfruit, the runner stood up and bowed. "I wish I could. But my message has been delivered and I do need to get back to the station. I am sure that I will see you often. Seeing as how I handle most of the runs to Rias."
Reaching out and scratching Az, Kallista ignored Follar's warning chirp and made much of the little bronze. Now that the green was gone, Follar turned with happy blue eyes remembering that the bronze was his friend and gave a chirp of farewell. "Good day to you! Send Az with a message sometimes!"

Jessmet patted her pocket where the still-unopened message from her family was. "Oh, I'm sure I'll have messages to be sent back." She got up from the table and stretched, back popping loudly. "I suppose I'll wander back to my quarters and see what Mother wants. It was very nice meeting you-- come find me some time when you're about." With a smile, she chirrupped to Az and cleared away her mug and plate of crumbs. Az snatched at the few remaining bits of bread and cheese and blinked /between/, presumably arriving back in Jessmet's room. The girl rolled her eyes at the firelizard's rudeness and padded away.
