When the boy didn't speak, she let it lie this time. He didn't know her that well anyways, so it was to be expected that he wouldn't tell her right now. That was only normal. So, instead she hummed and went back to work, scrubbing her green with quick and practiced movements.
'Why have you not asked him?'' Yersith asked her in her mind, unsure as to why she had not inquired about the boy's resentment towards dragons of her color. 'Quiet love, he will tell me when he is ready. It may not be today, or even any time soon, but he will someday, and then you shall know.' she told her dragon, willing her to have patience with the younger human.

Kaledan was rather relieved that the woman didn't try and push the issue. He really didn't feel like talking about it, not to anyone ever. He never figured on getting close to anyone. When he got attached to people, things happened and everything just went bad. Best not to get attached to anyone. Then you don't have to worry about them getting hurt or hurting you. It was a lonely lifestyle, but one that was worryfree. And Kaledan didn't really mind the loneliness. He didn't mind it.

"So Kaledan, where did you come from before you arrived at the Weyr?" Chaeren asked out of idle curiosity. She shifted position so she was had to shoo the flits away from her dragons chest so that it too could be cleaned. "I was a harper before I impressed Yersith. Born and raised in Harper hall. When I became a journeywoman, I did just that, journeyed all over northern, and even some of southern, Pern. I never stayed in one place long, because I always liked to see new things." she said with a reminiscent smile. "So, what about you?"

Kaledan glanced over at the greenrider. "Born here. Never left." He shrugged. It didn't bother him much. The riders often said the Holds weren't worth visiting unless there was a Gather. So why leave the Weyr? Besides, the boy had grown up with hopes of being a dragonrider, much like the other boys of Pern, but his was a bit more realistic, already being at the Weyr and all.

"I imagine that will change should you become a rider." the woman said with a small smile. "Travelling was always alot of fun for me. Always seeing new things and places, people too. I liked the feeling of freedom I got when I could ride straight out across wide open spaces of the northern continent. Riding along the beaches and walking in the surf was also a favorite of mine." she said with a grin as she thought back to all those years ago before she'd impressed. 'Do I...keep you from doing these things? From being happy?' her dragon suddenly asked her with a sad brush against her mind. 'No! Of course not my dearest heart! Now I can do all these things with you, and you shall be much better company than a runner beast.' she said reassuringly, reaching forward to scratch her mounts head, which had been extended forward towards the woman.

Kaledan nodded. He was sure it would. Chaeren made travelling sound like a lot of fun. He would definately have to try it sometime, perhaps after he Impressed and could fly a dragon wherever he wanted to go. He was very eager for Ariath to lay her clutch and for it to hatch. He was eager to Impress. He just knew he'd Impress. He was Weyrborn. It was in his blood.

Hakari sighed and sat up straight, smiling and stretching. "Well! Looks like we're about done here!" she said, reffering to her dragon. "She just needs one final rinse." the woman said and kicked both legs over one side of the dragon and slid into the water.
((okay, g'night!))

Ice_Dragon_Demon rimedragona Quote: Orana nodded To the weyr bowl then?" Orana said smiling she stetched her arms and began to walk beside her friend. Ithean staired back at Trith and circled above the little green dragon and then landed on Orana's shoulder. Malathan peered at the green curiously and chirped Trith made a small warbling sound in response, seemingly pleased, and then moved to follow Remia when she started towards the bowl. It wasn't long before they were in the great open area of the caldera, just in time to see someone arriving dragonback. Remia looked over at Orana as they walked. "Can you tell who it is? Are they from the Weyr? I can't make anything out from this distance." She wondered who would be arriving so early, but she needed to get her dragonet bathed and oiled before breakfast, or she'd be late to classes. Orana follwed and shook her head "I cant tell I have not seen her round before." Orana thought about this. "Perhaps she is a new trasfer." she muttered aloud, Orana smiled "What fist?" she asked Remia (Sorry for the short post) ((Rimedrgona))

Kaledan nodded, sighing with relief. He slid down the green's side, splashing into the water. Using one hand, he splashed a bit of the water onto his face, rubbing a bit of the sweat and dirt off.

Yersith rolled back over onto her back and stretched her wings, which sparkled as though they were inset with thousands of emeralds in the sunlight. she snapped them to her back and plunged fully under the water for a moment, and resurfaced a little ways away, shaking some water from her head. 'Thank you mine, I feel nice and clean again.' the dragon said happily to her rider. 'Thank the boy too please. He was...helpful. Even if he is not to good as you are, mine.' The dragon rider chuckled and turned to relay her dragons message to the Weyr boy. "Yersith says Thank you for your help. I thank you as well." she said with a smile, adding a nod as best she could while treading water. She turned and watched as Yersith climbed out of the water and shook herself of, rather like a dog. Chaeren laughed and headed for the shore, knowing that oiling would come next.

Kaledan managed a nod in response to the thanks from rider and dragon. His lips twitched as he watched Yersith exit the lake and shake. Good thing no one was close. He kicked after Chaeren, heading for the shore as well. As far as he knew they were done and his shoulder was glad for that thought.

Remia nodded at the green, who was now eagerly moving towards the pond, reaching the shallows before the two teens and sending up a spray of mist through the air.
It is nice and cool, mine. It feels good on the skin. Trith noted, and turned around, dripping, to face Remia and Orana.
Remia giggled. "I hope you like cold water, Orana, Trith says it's nice and cool. The soap and brushes are over here, though," she said, and pointed in the direction of the tools.
Soon, they were ready to scrub the little green, but she was in a playful mood.
"Hold still, love, so we can get a good scrub--aah--!!" the words were interrupted by a startled exclamation and then a SPLOOSH as Remia fell over backwards into the knee deep water. Trith had butted her with just enough force to rock the girl and she hadn't been steady in her footing.
"Oooh, that's cold!" Remia exclaimed as she sheepishly got back up, smiling awkwardly at Orana, hoping she wouldn't poke too much fun. A little was okay, though.
Now you are washed, too, right, mine? The green dragonet asked, casting an angelic look Remia's way. Remia could do naught but shake her head and laugh.

Orana nodded and smiled "Doesn't matter" She laughed when Trith spayed water and mist everywhere. Orana turned her head and went to take a soap brush. Orana wondered if it was similar to bathing her flits except the size difference.
Malathan landed on a rock nearby catching the water sprayed by the young dragonet. She stretched her wings wide and bathed in the water as it came her way. It cooled her leathery skin and made shine her golden colour.
Orana could not help but laugh at the little queen flit before her. "You are a strange one Mal," she smiled and entered the water after Remia a scrub brush in hand. "Remia! You ok?" Orana exclaimed as the girl beside her fell. Orana reached out the hand with the scrub brush and began to wash the dragonet laughing with Remia. She held good footing and hoped she was not bothering the Dragonet. She had some experience washing her two flits though Trith was much larger.

Remia blushed lightly. "Yes, I'm fine, it's just my ego that's bruised. Maybe my behind as well, but mostly my ego."
She poured the sweetsand generously on the wet dragon hide and applied her own brush to the task.
Trith, meanwhile, was in pure bliss, sighing and whistling quietly through her muzzle. She leaned first one way, then the other, unable to decide which side to show appreciation for.
Ooh, right there! She scrubs well, right under my wing... Trith told Remia, and Remia passed on the message with a grin.
"She says that where you're scrubbing feels good." Remia nodded, and held out the sweetsand bag, in case Orana wanted more.
"Oh, did I tell you?! Someone gifted me with a firelizard egg from that last clutch that was found! I've been taking good care of it, at the hearth in the weryling barracks... I can't wait until it hatches!" Remia said excitedly, unbeleiving of her good luck.
Will it be as interesting as those little ones? Trith asked, and tilted her head to look at the little queen as she showed off.
Remia laughed. "I'm sure it will be... I don't know what color it is, but no matter what, it will be an interesting little friend."

Chaeren walked with her dragon up and out of the water. Yersith held her wings out partially unfolded so that they would dry as she walked. It didn't take long with the hot souther sun beating down on the greens bright hide. The rider took shelter under her dragons out stretched wings as she rummaged through her bag and brought out a bottle of oil for Yersiths skin. Chaeren looked around as she heard a girls scream, only to see one pushed backward into the water by her dragonet. The woman only chuckled and stood, hands on hips as she watched Kaledan make his way out of the water. "So, Kal, you ready for part two?" she asked, holding out the bottle of oil for inspection. "Part two is oiling!" she said with a grin.
