After a few hours, the men had the rest of the base stable, and Altait was safe. he had bandages on his torso and around his groin where Ben had made him lose his manhood. he was awake, though, and relatively fine, if not in great pain as he waited for his men to report on damages.

Shaon crept back into the base, ignored by the men who didn;t know she had betrayed Altair. she eventually found him, walking up slowly and keeping a safe distance from him.

Altair looked up and a dark grin covered his face. "and the b***h crawls back with her tail between her legs, is that it? Your poor Ben dies and you come right back to your old master because you realize how much better he was."

"I'm sorry altair...I didn;t know what to do I trusted Ben...i thought he coudl help me." Ben would be ashamed of her if he knew what she was doing. he would hate her, disown her. she was letting him down, letting his death mean nothing. but what else could she do?

"You believed him over me?" he roared, stepping forward and grabbing her neck, slamming ehr into the wall. He drew a knife out. "You stupid!! how the hell coudl you think he was telling the truth?! after all i've done for you!?" he pressed the knife agaisnt her throat. "give me one reason i shouldn't slit your throat and let you bleed out your foul blood all over the floor?"

"Because i'm pregnant..." she choked, the cold steel against her throat striking the fear of death into her once again and reminding her she had things to lose.

Altair screamed, thrpwing her down and flinging the knife to the side. he grabbed her leg and pulled her to him, grabbing her chest with his other hand roughly. "that b*****d impregnated you!?" hye drew back his ahdn and slapped her.

The slap caught her by surprise. Altair had never hit her before, ever. he had slammed ehr agasint stuff, sure, but he had never physically draw back in an assault and out-right slamemd his hand into her. she broke dwn crying and recoiled, all the other pain meaning nothign as she cowered. "i didn't! it's your son! it;s your child!" her voice was pleading, hysteric.

Altair stopped, staring at her. "my child?" he blinked, then grinned. "Oh Shaon, i love you.." he grabbed her face and kissed her passionately, his other hand releasing her leg and pulling the small of her back closer to him.

Shaon froze as he did so, terrified of how he might react next. the passion made her heart tremble in fear. she knew he couldn;t do what he normally did, but that didn't stop the fear as she pulled her mouth back and pushed at him.

Altair seized her wrist and pulled her back but didn;t kiss her. "you better stay alive, shaon. i'll continue to support you, of course. but you can;t stay here until the child is born." he stood and dragged her up and released her. "leave for now."
