Lila giggled and started skipping again. "Follow the yellow brick road. Follow the yellow brick road. Follow Follow Follow Follow Follow the yellow brick road." She laughed breathlessly and wiggled her frozen nose. "Gosh it's getting cold." She smiled and squeezed Kent's hand. "Hey the swings!" She sped off and jumped into a swing. Her laughter echoed around the brightly lit streets. Her face beaming with happiness. "Are you coming or not?" She grinned mischieviously and started swinging.

God I hate that movie Kent thought to himself, not in any hurry to quicken the pace, he still had his dignity. Ah... so lighthearted... So beautiful. He thought as she laughed, taking a seat next to her and swinging lightly. "You keep being reckless and you're going to injure that leg again." He said, looking down at the bandage.

"Pish." She dimissed his warning while continuing to smile mischieviously. "I'll be fine." Lila slowed herself down to a halt and turned around on the swing so she was facing Kent. "Let's play 1 secret, 2 lies." She grinned. "Do you know how to play?"

Lila laughed "It's not that bad! I just thought it would be a good way to get to know each other. Okay I'll start." She smiled and tryed to think. Ok 3 facts.....hmm.... I know! "So how it works is I have to think of one true fact about myself and two lies about myself and you have to guess which one is the true one. Ready? Fact 1, I only have 9 toes all together. Fact 2, I have 3 grandmothers. Finally Fact 3, I have a fear of clowns."

"Well from what I've seen today I wouldn't rule out option 1. Though two is unlikely... I have four grandfathers... so I'll go with 3...?" He said, thinking it was the most likely of the three, while trying to think of a good one for himself

"Right... graceful... Well I didn't exactly see you doing Riverdance earlier." He said, leaning back in his swing. "Well uh..." He started trying to think. Well this as good a way as any... He thought to himself, at least trying to hide it with believable answers. " Alright... My favorite guitarist is Jimi Hendrix. I have had a crush on you since 7th grade... or my hometown is New York City."

"Oh! And you're saying YOU could do the Riverdance better than my skipping!" Lila smiled and looked down at her feet which were swinging gently. She looked up at Kent and gazed at him silently. "Umm..." her surprise had over taken her voice and she couldn't say anything.No, don't do this now. Stupid voice. "I...I think I know which one it is but.... I'm going to be so embarrassed if I'm wrong......" She looks up at Kent, searching his face for any kind of clue. "You've..... You've liked me s-since 7th grade haven't you?" Lila could feel herself blushing. I've never been liked in this way by anyone before. she thought, gently swinging her feet.

He had thought he put out some pretty convincing lies too. "My favorite guitarist is Pete Townshend, and I was born in Orlando Florida." He said, taking a deep breath. It felt good, if at the moment horribly awkward, to get that out in the open. "Good guess."

"I....I would never have known if you hadn't told me...." She looked up at Kent, she could feel her cheeks burning. No one has ever made me feel like this before. I feel nervous, confused, my head is spinning, my heart is racing. Did I really like Saix? Or was it just because I was jealous of Kat? The silence was too unbearable for her "Uh... we should be getting back." Lila stood up and put her hands in her pockets, hoping they would stop shaking.

Kent became slightly nervous as he stood up. She hadn't said anything else besides that. Had he been an idiot? Did he make a mistake? Did she not like him? Focus Kent, you don't know either or here. He reminded himself, begining to walk slowly back in his house's direction. "So uh... about that movie thing tomorrow..."

"Movie? Oh yeah umm..." She looked into Kent's eyes. Under the lamplight Lila could see her reflection in his eyes. Her cheeks and her nose were bright pink. "Sure. I'm in. What time should we meet? I usually don't get up until 10 on the weekends." She giggled "I'm not much of an early riser." Your babbling. Just keep your mouth shut. But she couldn't help it. Taking a long deep breath she rambled "Kent listen, I really have no idea how I feel about you and I don't want you to feel like I'm rejecting you because I'm not. I want to get to know you better since you seem like a really nice guy and tomorrow would be perfect for that." Lila took another deep breath and continued to stroll along the path towards Kent's house. Do I like Kent? I barely even know him but he makes me smile and feel so happy. Does that qualify as liking him? Does the feeling I have right now classify as 'liking'?
