How do you do. My name's Liz. I'm 16. I come from San Antonio. I'm not too good at Japanese. On June 25th, I go to Kumamoto. I'm an exchange student. I return on November 20th.
Some more about me: I can't stand most anime, I think it sucks and is highly edited to be marketed to Americans. I love Japanese food, though.

I'm pretty excited about going. Yay!

I'm half Japanese, and my "real name" (it's not really, it's the name that most people call me) is Miho. But, I suppose I like kazabana better. Well, whichever you choose. I am blood type O and13. I haven't taken any formal Japanese classes (except for a Japanese school I went to when I was really small... and in that we didn't do much. sweatdrop I go to Japan every year, and to a school in Japan... crying Well, anyway, yoroshiku onegai shimasu! (how does that translate to English again? eek )

Note: The English translation is not direct from the Japanese, but it still tells the gist of things. I hope it's enough.

[EDIT:] Am I supposed to write in romaji (after Japanese text)?

ちなみに、私は時々変な方言/言い草を飛ばすので(漫画の読み過ぎ/テレビの見過ぎ...)あまり突っ込まずに見通してください。 sweatdrop

By the way, once in a while I'll use a strange dialect or phrase (a result of reading too much manga and watching too much TV) so don't get too worked up (haha) and let it by, please.

Hello! My name is Renee, or in Japanese Rune. I've been studying Japanese for five years-- long time, and I dont feel like I'm good enough! I went to japan last summer for two weeks, and at the moment I'm taking a shodo calligraphy class from a calligraphy master, which is a lot of fun. I listen to japanese music sometimes, and I love japanese culture.

Nice to meet you all!

Hello there. I'm Gentsuru, from Spain.
What little Japanese I know is from manga or anime and it's more words than complete sentences. I'm fascinated with Japanese culture and I hope I'll be able to take Japanese classes someday without being robbed! (nowadays where I live I can only get private lessons and they're really expensive!)

Hajimemashite.

I'm Sedative. My real name is Rebecca, but I like my middle name Mie.
I'm 75% south korean, but have a hint of japanese along the bloodline, thanks to my dad's mother's ancestors. XDD
That's like.. .19999% japanese. Hahah, hardly worth mentioning. I am 16 years old, and my two passions are the Japanese culture and psychology.

I know very very little Japanese, but I can't take a class until I graduate from college or take a reading class plus Japanese 101 my senior year at a community college.

I have a ... brief "learn japanese" e-book on my computer. I find it pretty useful, so if anyone would like it, send me your e-mail and I'll try to attach it (I don't know how I'll get it to you though. sweatdrop )

While trying to teach myself Japanese, my mother's making me learn korean, or hangeul. It's fun learning languages. 3nodding

Hajimemashite!!

I'm Amber!^^ I have taken japanese in high school for two years now. Next year I am taking the AP japanese test. Last year I took the level four japanese proficiency test. it's a test to show how fluent you are in the language...it's an international test and level four is the easiest... level one is the hardest. This december, I am taking the level 3 test. Both these tests are making me nervous. I want to study as much as I can... and why not make friends in the process, hehe.

I started learning japanese when I watched anime in japanese. I learned things like "Chotto matte" and "Hidoi!" and gomennasai. Things where only one word was said so I could catch it in the subtitles. It spawned my love for japan and the language..now I'm addicted, lol

Douzo yoroshiku!

BYE EVERYONE!

Hajimemashite. ^^

I'm Dai (not my real name, but enough people call me that XD I mostly go by it because people always mispronounce my real name... sweatdrop ), and I've been teaching myself Japanese for about six years now. I've tried my best to get 'real' Japanese lessons, but my school doesn't offer them and I've had the misfortune of getting and soon after losing two teachers (for some reason, things didn't work out... not sure why). As a result, my reading and understanding isn't too bad, but I'm not very confident in my writing or speaking.

I've been interested in Japan since about 3rd grade, when we did a biiiig unit on Japan in school. I loved the culture and the writing, and everything! I had already been watching anime since pretty much when I was in kindergarten (mostly Sailor Moon, Voltron, and Speed Racer), and as soon as I learned that it was originally Japanese... I was even more obsessed.

One weird little quirk about me: I have a tendency to randomly (accidentally) speak in a Japanese accent...and I speak German with one for some obscure reason. I don't mean to, but I'm incapable of making a German accent for some reason! XD Maybe this makes me sound like an obsessive fangirl, but I'm not quite sure WHY I do it...

Well I guess that was quite enough for you all, wasn't it? XD
