Merethist had retreated from the ballroom, too many questioning glances to both his face and his bare ring finger had made him uncomfortable. He was ever so upset now, sat in his little den in the cherry tree; a thing he hadn't done since things with Charming had turned out well. He mulled over things, wondering, they had been fine yesterday and the night before!! Why was Charming acting so cold..?? His gaze drifted to his ring finger and he let a little sob out, cuddling the kitten that was sat in his lap;Star liked this place too.
"it's not fair Star!!" he wailed, staring at the meowing kitten before he picked him up and got out from the den. He was going to find Charming's mother and ask if he could be taken away from court....just to...somewhere. He sighed softly and strolled around the garden's, holding the kitten close.
"Merethist??" came a voice and Merethist looked up, startled to see Charming's father looking at him. He bit back tears and forced a smile.
"hello" he greeted
the king frowned. "what is the matter, the servants have been twittering about you and Charming..even the fact your finger...." the king stole a glance down to the bare ring finger and frowned. "what happened??" he asked, just as Merethist hid his bare finger.
Merethist sighed softly and looked down.
"Charming cheated on me."
"he....WHAT??" the king asked, unable to believe this. He had taught that boy better!!
"he cheated on me." Merethist repeated, hurt over it.
"well, he was guilty and remorseful right??"
silence.
"Merethist??"
"no....he didn't even look sorry about it"
".......let's go find my wife"
"I don't want to stay here!! can you place me away from him??"
"but then, however will we talk sense into the boy?!" the king asked, surprised Merethist wanted to leave. Merethist shook his head, he knew inside that whatever had happened, Charming wasn't coming back. Because he was a man.
"...he won't....listen..." Merethist sobbed and the king sighed, nodding and putting a comofrting arm around Merethist.
"of coarse, we'll let you leave right now" he replied, waving an arm to tell the servants trailing him to go and prep a carriage and pack Merethist's things.
"..thank you"
The King smiled, looking around. Where was his wife when he needed her?! for he really needed her!!

Charming's mother was set to have a heart attack. So, this was what getting old felt like. She was going at the fastest pace she could to find her husband - the goblin's had told her about the whole Merethist-finger thing. Besides that, her husband probably knew what was going on here! She let out a small breath of relief as her husband and Merethist came into sight before attempting to straighten herself out somewhat.
"Excuse me, Darling," She spoke, addressing her husband in a sweet little tone. "But do you have any idea what's going on?" He toned hardened as she spotted Merethist's bare ring finger. What had her son done! Or what had Merethist done! The woman had no idea and was altogether horrified. In how many good cases was someone who was supposed to be getting married's ring finger bare?

Merethist looked glumly up at Charming's mother, not wanting to explain anything. Instead he just cuddled Star closer to himself, watching the servants carrying a few of his bags around to the front of the castle, where he guessed a carriage was waiting for him. So much for like being perfect, he thought dully, looking up at the Castle. Wasn't Charming sorry about it??
Charming's father looked around in relief to his wife, his grip on Merethist's shoulder tightening slightly, as if daring him to run, just to show he wouldn't get anywhere. He looked grimly at his wife and nodded.
"Charming bedded a princess" he answered, gazing down at Merethist, who had his head down, concentrating on running his fingers through Star's fur. "Merethist confronted him and from what he says and what some nosy maids have told me, Charming wasn't even sorry about it and Merethist threw his ring back at him" he sighed, how troublesome and totally...sudden. He looked at his wife. "I think the Princess involved was from....one of the smaller Forest kingdom's in the south, do you know of her??" she had better be sorry about all this, dragging his son into disgrace and Merethist into hurt, it wasn't nice and it wasn't courtly!!

Prince Charming's mother glanced at Merethist, feeling slightly disturbed at his silence. What was going on here? And then her husband speak and she felt the word crack under her. "HE WHAT?!" She cried as her husband spoke bluntly. Her son had cheated on someone he'd actually claimed to love?! "HE WASN'T SORRY?!" She demanded, targetting Merethist. "What if he was and you were too upset to see it?"
And then her husband spoke about where she was from. There was only once of those here. "YOU MEAN PRINCESS BITCHFACE?!" His wife fumed. She didn't even have a very large kingdom on her and had no personality! Never mind that her son's current fiance really didn't own anything - he had convinced her that he loved Merethist! Or so she'd thought, apparently! Besides that, the princess was a b***h. An evil one. How dare her son sleep with such scum!
"CHARMING!" She screamed as if he would come running.

"no, if he had been sorry....I'd forgive him..." Merethist mumbled at the question, holding Star close, the kitten had been startled by the raised voices. Charming's father winced at her screeching, he himself was angry, but he managed to hold it in. "he didn't feel sorry...his aura was all....disgusted...he was pushing me away.."Merethist mumbled, tears dripping from his eyes again. He didn't want to feel like this!!
Charming's father blinked at his wife's recognition of the princess, was she a whore or something?? "she's bad??" he asked quietly.

Charming's mother winced at Merethist's description of her son's behavior. So, she knew he was capable of being mean in a feel select situations, but certainly not to his fiance or to someone he loved! This was, quite frankly, an outrage. She was going to find that son of hers and teach him well!
She blinked as her husband spoke. "Yes." She replied angrily. "Especially now." The woman gritted her teeth in frustration at the thought of her son running about with such a low-level princess. Was it even possible for Prince Charming to do that of his own will?! Oh yes, her son was going to learn a valuable lesson. "What are we going to do with Merethist?" She questioned as she calmed down a bit, glancing at the cherry blossom phantom.

Merethist had his attention back on Star, as the kitten cuddled against him lazily, fluffy white tail swishing as he contented himself with being given attention. Merethist wasn't really focusing, he was half focusing on stroking Star and half on listening to the royal's talk. So this princess wasn't nice?? well he knew that now, he didn't wish her any good...at all.
"Merethist..."Charming's father looked at the sakura phantom, and then back to his wife. "is going to stay in one of our summer palaces, the one nearest the main castle, for the time being" he told his wife, feeling frustrated. Charming was so cruel sometimes, but he was willing to bet he wasn't doing this completely of his own free will, he could be cold, but not this cruel and he knew, just last night his son had been head over heels for Merethist. He watched the cherryblossom phantom being led away by the carriage driver, they'd see him in a couple of days or so, depending on what his wife was planning.
"what are we going to do then??" he asked quietly, watching the carriage pull away and go through the Labyrinth just a few moments later. He felt so sorry for the person sat inside, ripped apart by the one he loved. He hoped his wife was going to knock some sense into his son and Princess Bitchface.
Princess Bitchface--or her real name, Princess Serena--was sat in her bedroom, feeling oh so proud of herself!! She had watched that little hussy Charming was once engaged to from her window and was squealing with glee over Merethist leaving the castle. More time to plan, more time to capture Charming completely...without the use of the potion she had slipped him last night. Oh yes, it was potent and it was pricey; a love and lust potion, she loved it, she really did!! no one was going to steal HER Charming away, especially not some nobody like Merethist!!

Charming's mother nodded, glancing briefly at Merethist as her husband spoke. One of their summer places really would be best for the situation - as soon as Charming was nicely beaten back into shape they could safely return Merethist to him. Or him to Merethist - whichever way those things were supposed to go. She watched as Merethist was led away into the carriage to depart. This was going to be interesting.
The woman narrowed her eyes as her husband spoke. "I want to find Charming first." She replied, watching after the carriage before calling to one of the goblins. "Find my son. Now. Tell him I'd quite like to see him!" To many who had gotten the usual impression of the woman she would be acting strange - not even in a stage of hysterics over this. But this was where she stepped in and drew the line. Besides that she'd already worked on so much wedding plans it wasn't funny! How dare her son try and waste that! Both he and Princess Bitchface were most likely screwed. Besides that, in her disdain, even if Charming insisted he loved that princess she'd never allow him to marry her! Was this her son? A low-level cheater? No. At least, not for long.

Charming's father drew a hand through his hair, a little weary over this already, how could Charming just suddenly change his mind?? He knew he was--no, had been--a womaniser, but he had also stopped after he met Merethist. What caused this?? He didn't hear about them arguing any last night and he silently wondered about this princess.
"I don't understand what's going through that boy's mind right now" he muttered, glancing up at the castle. He was very, VERY disappointed in him and after all the hard work that had gone towards showing him and Merethist to the world and keeping them safe. How did one princess wiggle past that??

"I'm hurrying Merethist"
Merethist giggled at his former guardian, his hands holding one of Jay's as he tugged him along the corridor. Merethist had invited Jay down to meet Charming and the blonde had eagerly accepted, wanting to know who had captured Merethist's interest so completely.
They were out in the gardens, Merethist was hoping Charming was wandering around /somewhere/, he really wanted to let Charming meet Jay, it was important!! Jay was just happy that Merethist was happy, and was sure that whoever Merethist liked so much, would be a friend to him.
"Chaaaaaarming~!!" Merethist called, hopefully.

Merethist clutched at the sheets of his bed, utterly stunned at what the healer had said to him. It wasn;t possible.....he couldn't be...but, the healer had said so and healers didn't lie right?? He worried his bottom lip, piecing together the facts of it all. He'd been weak, sickly and prone to not eating candy for a few weeks now...maybe it was right then..well, he'd need to tell Charming wouldn't he?? Merethist sighed, wondering how to go about tell someone you were pregnant. Where was Charming anyway?

Prince Charming made his way rather quickly down the hall, busting his way - okay, so, maybe more like quickly opening to door - into the bedroom, immediately looking to Merethist as he entered. "What did the healer said?" The prince spoke, slightly concerned for his fiance. Merethist had been uncharacteristically ill as of late, Charming expected the healer to have diagnosed his fiance well. Charming walked over to the side of the bed, noting Merethist's clutching at the cheeks before he sat down on the side of the bed, watching the other with rather expectant eyes.

Merethist looked up, surprise and a hint of reluctance in his eyes once he realised it was Charming. So soon too, he didn't want to have to tell him so soon, what was he to say?? "uhm..he said..." Merethist bowed his head, a hand slipping down to rest over his abdomen, it was slightly bigger then usual. "h-he said...i'm sick because..." Merethist stammered, unsure on how to explain "Charming...i'm going to have a baby..." he finally explained, looking at Charming with a small, unsure smile. He wanted the baby, would Charming want it??

Charming listened to Merethist speak, almost urging him to go on as he hesitated. The prince wasn't quite sure how he felt about the answer. He sat motionless for a moment, taking it in. Merethist was pregnant? So he'd heard of this before. And with Merethist... yes. Charming decided it was possible. There was no other conclusion really. And the moment he decided it was possible he leaned forward to press his lips to Merethist's. The whole meaning of this hadn't really gotten to him just yet, but Merethist was pregnant and it fit in with the illnesses and that was a good thing. That meant he was going to be a father. No matter, he'd analyze the situation further later.

Merethist gazed at Charming, a little unsure of what Charming was thinking. His grip tightened on the bed covers, an almost sorrowful whimper escaping his lips at the silence he recieved. Was Charming mad? Disgusted?? He looked up, a little unsure about things still until he felt Charming's lips press against his own. He made a small contented noise and kissed him back, his grip on the sheets slackening. So this was an acceptance?? He sighed into the kiss, his eyes sliding shut.
