Shaydra looped the steel neckband around one of the gold dragon's spines. The neckband crackled threateningly, trying with its magic to find a vital spot, but could find none on the spike of bone. It remained a wide, loose ring of metal.
The dragon-human on Sigilos's back wrapped her arms tight around another spike, feeling her own neck ring clack against the bone barb. She growled inwardly. Her dragon pride told her to jump off this dragon's back, but her common sense told her to stay.
She wordlessly pulled out her pencil, dug her fingernail into the eraser, and started swirling the stick of wood in a circle in the air. No line followed, but slowly particles, in the air but not air, gathered inside the invisible circle in a grey cloud.

The gold cried out in pain again, then started to slowly drift lower. He wouldn't remain in the air much longer.

"Don't worry, we're almost there. If it's too painful to fly, we can land. It's getting dark anyway..." Ankaara pointed to the salmon-pink sky.

Shaydra glanced back at Josh. "Well, when one of my drawings gets destroyed, it doesn't die completely. It just dissolves back into seperate particles which changes back into its original element, the carbon of graphite lead. And then I can collect the particles again and tie them together with a spell that binds them."
The dragon-human stopped circling the pencil and quickly slashed a five-stroked rune into the cloud. The particles seemed to disappear, then reassemble into a hazy form.

The gold drifted lower and lower, struggling to stay in the air.

"Very interesting, i think you should get off" Josh threw five fireballs at another grapehead.

"Me? Get off? I don't think my weight makes much difference..." The wolf, fully reassembled with a black rune glowing on his forehead, winged under the gold dragon. Shaydra snatched the steel collar off Sigilos's spine and jumped off into the air.
Landing neatly on the wolf's back, the dragon-human raised both hands, gripping the sides of the metal neckband, and brought them down on either side of the wolf's neck. The collar crackled and tightened, but nothing appeared to happen to the wolf, who was held together safely with the rune. The metal ring rested firmly around his ruff, and Shaydra gripped it to steady he.
Still under but a little ahead of the golden dragon, the wolf beat his huge wings in effort to create a small thermal-vacuum to help the gold stay aloft for a little longer.

Josh flew faster, knowing if he can get to skelegar first, he can have his revenge.

"Let's land right here, the cave is over to my left only a few paces." , said Ankaara as she pointed to a small clearing in the forest. There was a large, mossy cave there.

The gold couldn't stay up any longer, his wings folding in as he fell toward the clearing. He twisted to the side as he fell, barely missing the gliding wolf below, landing heavily on the grass among the trees. He dragged himself into the cave, collapsing near the entrance.

Lex had, in turn, killed many Grapeheads. She was breathing hard, but in no shape like Sigilos. She shifted in mid-air, into her human form, and dropped to the ground not far below her. "Well, looks like we found a place to stay..."

Josh looked down at everyone to see them falling, then before he knew it he was hit by a grapehead and smacked down to the cave.

Zik smashed in a Grapehead's noggin with a flying kick, and landed next to the group."Guys, I think we should go into the cave now." Ankaara finished Zik's work by cutting it into three pieces with her powerful jaws. She glided down next to Zik, and said: "I've never seen Grapeheads gather in such numbers before...something tells me that Skelegar is behind this..."

Josh tried to get up from the cave floor and realized that his mouth started to bleed, "dang, they got me"
