Laura finally picked up her phone and dialed again. This time, she called Lawliet.
"Yo?" Lawliet asked.
"Hey, Lollipop, I need a scrambler. I'm about to go talk to the don. I don't need anyone tracing my calls." Laura replied.
"Those are so outdated." Lawliet replied, checking his nails.
"Outdated or not, send one." Laura snapped.
"Actually, I got a new satellite up. I created a new fiber system that I want to test." Lawliet replied. "And sense your business isn't exactly legal, it's far safer then these phone lines."
"Oh great. Thanks. Just spill it to the world why don't you." Laura snapped.
"Your welcome, Laura." Lawliet replied. There was a brief silence. "Ok. I got a lock on the system. Hang up and turn your phone off and then back on. If you get the lollipop, your good."
"Alright. Thanks." Laura replied, then hung up.

Ryan knew it was time to wrap it up as the transmission crackled back to life. "We'll smooth over the details later," he smiled, looked at Juliana from the corner of his eye.
Trist leaned against the wall and listened to the transmission, anticipating the lapse between the scrambler and the counter-scrambler. She wondered if the Chief was being relayed the message, as it greatly concerned him more than them.

Arthur came back from his mission. It was another homicide but the forensics team was handling it now. "Sorry, did we get the location of the landing yet?" he asked when he came in.
Giovanni was still waiting. He'd give Laura a few minutes longer. If she didn't call by then, he would call her.

Smoothing her face over, she looked away from Ryan and looked back to the phone, tossing the idea of - if Lawliet's scrambler was successful - destroying the intrusive waves from mental hand to hand.
She was still loyal to the Mafia, true, but if they could use the scrambler to get a pinpoint on Laura's landing and possibly use the military to have her killed, that would leave Tony all to herself.
But at the same time, if either the Don or Laura let slip something that they shouldn't... it would be very, very bad.
Sami doubted the Don would mention her. He had no reason to discuss her mission with Laura, and Laura didn't know anything about it.
Mentally pouting, she shifted her weight slightly, seemingly impatient for the transmission to begin. Decisions decisions. In a FIGHT that's ŊĘVĒŔ-ĖŊĐĮŊĢ, go on. Go ahead and PŖŎVĘ MĖ WŘŎŊĢ.

The don's number wouldn't reach. She had been disconnected from the satellite. A few moments later, the signal appeared on her cell phone. She sighed and manually dialed the Don's number. The scrambler went into effect. Not only was it a scrambler, but it sent complex hacking codes into the systems of anything trying to unscramble the message. The machines the government would use would be fried in little to no time at all.
Laura was irritated that the phone line was busy. She didn't realize that was because the Don had tried to call her. Instead, she called the bartender.
"Hello?" The bartender asked.
"This is Laura. Get me the Don." She replied.

Giovanni hung up. As soon as he did, the phone rang. "Hello, Laura?" Giovanni asked. He was losing patience quickly.

"I might be tracked..." Laura admitted, "though my aircraft is small so they might be having a difficult time keeping me on the scanner. I had Lawliet switch my phone to a different private satellite with anti-hacking and anti-descrambling codes. We should be good in that respect." Laura replied.
