"Ah! That's the type of spirit I admire!" Joeseph placed his hands into his pockets and pulled out a PokeNav. "Now, Marvin. Where was it we found that our last Helix Fossil?" he asked, "The one we donated to the Kanto Safari Zoo?"

The man placed a hand on his large chin and thought for a moment. "Wasn't it the...Whirl Islands?"

"Ah! That's right!" Joeseph turned to Mike, "We stumbled upon the fossil while searching for evidence of Lugia. You know, wing prints, feathers, anything. It's a great job. You should take it up as a profession!" He fixed his glasses. At that moment, a patter of footsteps were heard coming out of the kitchen. A young girl, about the age of nine, stood in the door way between the living room and the dining room. Janie walked slowly over to her father and Marvin, only to get picked up by her mother.

"Honey, not right now. Daddy's busy." "I wasn't going to see daddy," Janie said, "I wanted to see our guest!" She looked over at Mike and smiled, "How old is he, mommy? "Janie Ranmo!" "Is he Brother's age? Or older?" she kept whispering into her mother's ear, then managed to scramble free of her mom's grasp. She ran over and tugged on Mike's coat tail. "You look like a stronger trainer than my brother!" Janie smiled.

Judith sighed. Am I the only one who supports my son? she thought, gulping. The woman shook her head and walked into the kitchen once more, where she found Poppite in front of the stove, fixing up something for lunch.

"Seventeen." Mike smiled, the little girl was super cute. Made him almost wish he had a little sister to hang around with. "Well," he said, kneeling down to meet her at eye level, keeping a warm and friendly tone in his voice. "I did beat your brother in a battle." The boy stood up, jokingly flexing his muscles to keep up the 'strong trainer' image. "It was a good fight, but I won out in the end. You should see your son Mr. Ranmo, he's wicked strong." He tried to picture how quick the fight would have ended if he used Nitro the whole way through. Mike smiled once more, letting out a soft chuckle and patting Janie on the head softly. "Maybe sometime I'll show you my Pokemon kiddo, would you like that?"

"Whirl Islands?" He asked, overhearing the two men talking. "Where is that?" Mike assumed it was Johto, as that was the only region he hadn't explored in depth. Lugia... He thought to himself. The Legendary bird Pokemon. How cool would it be to catch a sight o' that!

"I'd love to see them!" she said happily, closing her small hands into fists and jumping slightly at the thought. The girl turned on her heel and fidgeted with her bow, hoping it looked good in front of the guest. "Mommy!" she called, running into the kitchen, "Can you fi..." her voice faded out.

Joeseph smiled and then cleared his throat loudly. "The Whirl Islands are a clump of islands around Cianwood City in Johto," the man explained, "They're blocked off by monsterous whirlpools and it's difficult to get inside." The man paced around Mike and Marvin, "However, we can use Marvin's copter to land on the islands safely." Grossberg nodded and resumed his seat on the couch. For a moment, his suit seemed like it would rip at the seams.

Judith and Poppite emerged from the kitchen with two large platters of noodles and soup. "Lunch is ready!" she called out, walking with the Puppet Pokemon over to the men, placing the platters onto the coffee table that was in front of the couch. She looked over to see her daughter walking over with a tray of cups filled with water. She seemed to try and look her best for Mike. Poppite made an odd humming noise and rotated his hands skillfully, taking the tray from the girl and holding it up with one hand while the other floated to each man carrying a glass.

"But I don't need to rest..." Kasiya trailed off, watching her tired friend sink into a chair. "Mmhmm..." she pursed her lips and looked around, her gaze resting on the PC tucked away in the corner. She made her way over to it and input her information, admiring the clickity noises the keyboard made as she typed. Once her profile was loaded, she quickly swapped around the icons, placing both Adamantine and Flash's Pokeballs on the tray and waiting for them to be exchanged for Shocker and Seto's. She waited. And waited. And waited some more. Finally, the four Pokemon were exchanged, and Kasiya set the Pokeballs into their places on her belt, suddenly feeling a boost in her confidence at having her strongest party with her once more. When that was done, she also placed six of her TMs into the item storage system, as well as her HM for Surf. That way, they would remain safe, and she could get them back when she needed them. She kept the TM that contained Shadow Ball with her, deciding then to teach it to Casimir. Once the Absol had absorbed the knowledge of flinging about ghostly, dark orbs at his opponents, he was returned in order to rest, although Kasiya would have her party healed up at the Pokemon Center before she went to see Nina.

"I'm ready to go whenever you are," she told Keegan, sitting down in a chair opposite him and locking her fingers together.

While Levi was having her underwater battle Bahamut was having some troubles of her own. Underwater, even just a little bit, simply was just not a good place for the desert dragon. It also didn't help that the octopus like pokemon seemed to be trying to drag her down with it. Beating her wings as hard as she could in order to stay up above the water. Her jaw was clamped as hard as she could shut it around one of the offending tenticles.

The Octillery mean while was doing its best to keep its hold on the flying menace that had his arm in a hold. Not being able to take it anymore the Octillery did what instinct told it to do and used its Octozuka right in Bahamuts face. Feeling the ink sting her eyes Bahamut screeched releasing her hold on it and flying up above the water. The Octillery meanwhile swam a bit down wanting to nurse the large bite on its tenticle. Flying above the water Bahamut franticly scrambled to clear the ink out of her eyes.

Across the arena Dante and Darius exchanged a look with each other before ordering at the same time.

"Octillery use your Aurora Beam!"

"Bahamut Giga Drain now!"

The two pokemon, Bahamut now with a black streak across her eyes and over her strange leg's, and Octillery with a big bite on one of his tenticles, looked over at there trainers for a moment. Bahamut, being the much less damaged of the two, and the one who wasn't poisoned, was the first to move. Spotting the darker spot that was her enemy Bahamut dove down fast wanting to get this over with. The Octillery meanwhile struggled to bring all of his tenticles together to unleash a Aurora Beam. Just as it brought it's last tenticle up Bahamut smashed into it her clamp like feet grabbing on while she activated her Giga Drain. Feeling the power getting sucked out of it, the Octillery felt itself getting faint. After a moment the dragon let go and flapping her wings as hard as she could she made her way back to the surface. It was a good thing that the Aurora Beam was never fired, even if it was a much lower level then the powerful dragon, the four times weakness would have done her in.

As Bahamut was going back up she spotted something strange, it seemed like Levi was and another strange pokemon were floating up. Wanting to rescue her companion Bahamut dove down a bit more. Latching her feet onto the small Mudkip she dragged her back up to the surface.

"Levi!" Dante called seeing the passed out Mudkip he imediatly reached for his pokeball and recalled her. He felt terrible sending her out against pokemon that were probably much stronger then her. For some reason the baby Mudkip kept getting hurt whenever she was around him.

Not paying much attention to the trainer across from him he failed to see the Qwilfish reach the surface passed out as well. Darius like Dante recalled his pokemon. The dark haired boy, seeing his chance started to look for his Octillery. An attack while the trainer and other pokemon were distracted would ensure his victory. After a moment he saw his pokemon and leaning down he motioned for it to use Aurora Beam on the Vibrava. For some reason though his pokemon didn't look like it was moving all that much. Frowning he made the motion's agian and recieved no response.

Suddenly the announcer's voice interupted. "Well it looks like the poison from the Toxic attack used earlier is to much for the Octillery to handle. It looks like the house wins again!"

Walking inside, Nina found herself practically rushing over to the PC and logging in. Looking at the Pokemon she had to choose from, she ran over the scenarios that could come up in battle. Spending some ten minutes at the computer, she finally chose from three of the Pokemon, making her final team. I won't change again, she thought, logging off; and I won't spend any more time worrying about the battle. If I think too much about it, I'll just psyche myself out and get nervous. I can't have that happen-- not again. She walked back to her friends, who, she noticed, were sitting on a bench on the sidelines.

"So?" Whitney asked, "Didja, like, finally decide who you were gonna use?" Nina sat down, positioned in between her sister and Rai. "Yeah," she replied, "I did. I won't tell you guys who I picked, though-- I want it to be a surprise." Rai cocked his head a little, looking to the girl. He smiled a little. "If you want my opinion, I don't believe it really makes a difference who you decided to use. What I think is that if you enjoy yourself out there and stop spending so much time focusing on the technicalities and the strengths and weaknesses and all that, and just have fun, it'll make the battle a lot better. Besides which, you are going to be battling your friend, not some completely random stranger you've never seen before in your life. Make a battle that the both of you will remember. And if you do win, then... well, that'd just make things better. If you lose though, remember the fact that you enjoyed the battle, and things won't seem so grim. 'kay?"

His eyes always seem to shimmer when he smiles, Nina thought, admiring her friend. And he can be so completely intellectual...
She smiled. "You're right. Thanks for the pep talk, Rai. And, I really need to thank both of you for having a battle with me-- it really helped me to see my flaws and what not to do. It was pretty invaluable."

"You should know that it was like, no trouble," Whitney commented.
"Yeah. It helped both of us learn where we could improve, too."

These guys are great, Nina thought to herself, leaning back against the wall, closing her eyes.

Now that she had the practice, all that she had to do was await Kasiya's arrival.

Weezing hovered very close to Rena the entire way they moved out of the cave. He narrowly avoided a large stone spire that jutted seemingly out of no where. The Poison-type rolled his eyes upward, as if trying to look at his owner. Sadly, the only thing he received was a headache.

Rena nearly tripped on her way down the steps that led down to the Pokemon Center. She glanced over her shoulder at the Pokemon who followed her and then skidded to a halt in the grass outside the Center. The girl motioned for Weezing to come to her. He did so, floating over and touching down on the ground for her to let Rena lift Kilik off. She placed him in the grass and placed a hand on his face.

A moan. His lips twitched and his eyes tightened shut. He opened them slowly, everything was very out of focus. He groaned and sat up, placing his uninjured arm on his forehead. A sharp pain went through his other arm and Kilik winced. "Doesn't feel like anything's broken.." he laughed, looking at it, "Probably just some really bad bruises and a cut. Nothing big." He looked over at Rena and blinked. She was...crying?

"You had me worried sick!" she wailed, wrapping her arms around his neck, nearly pushing him over again. "I thought you wouldn't make it and now you're saying it's just a few bruises?!" Tears streamed down her face onto his neck.

"Relax, I'll be fine..." he whispered. He placed his good arm around her in a weak hug. "What about Lairon? How'd that turn out?"

"He's waiting to wherever you chose your extra Pokemon to go." A broad smile appeared on Kilik's lips. He tightened the embrace. "Thank you so much, Rena!!" he cried out, laughing.

Jumping at hearing the announcer's voice, she had been surprisingly silent through the match Dante looked up from Levi's pokeball. Bahamut who was fluttering nearby did a small loop-de-loop at the mention of the win before landing on the railing next to Dante. As the water drained below Dante was able to watch the decent sized crowd exchange money and file out of the arena. When the water finally drained the platformed lowered and Dante looked down at the muddy ground at his feet. He really did not want to walk in that, it was a good thing that he didn't have to when a Togatic suddenly swooped down and lifted him up carring him to where Leon was standing a at the dry enterance.

Bahamut who had been chewing on the metal bars with her sharp teeth glanced up and noticed that her trainer was gone. Looking around for a moment she spotted him next to a very large man who had a Togatic standing next to him. Launching herself up from the bar the dragonfly like pokemon flew over to her trainer and attached herself to his arm.

"Oh Bahamut there you are. We need to get you, Shiva and Levi healed and washed up." He said tiredly. "I guess we need to go to the pokemon center then..."

At that Leon just laughed. "No need for that. We have one of those healing machines in the locker room. You can go there and wash your pokemon off as well. You earned a lot for a first time battler today so you can probably take a break until it starts to get busy."

"Oh ok." Suddenly a jaw cracking yawn caught Dante and he quickly covered it with his hand. 'I guess I really shouldn't be wondering around like this. My body is still very tired from this morning with Zapdos and everything.' He still couldn't believe that that was this morning. Mentally shrugging it off he made to follow Leon but Kenny popped out of the wall right in front of him. "Oh Kenny! How much did you find?" The small ghost pokemon looked very proud of himself as he held out his hand to show ten coins. "Thats a lot better then last time isn't it. Good job." He said with a smile and reached out to take them from the small ghost when suddenly a hungry little dragon zoomed forward and snatched five of the coins and promptly ate them. There was a pause as Dante, Kenny and Leon who had been listening in, stared at the ghosts hand and then at Bahamut. "BAHAMUT!" Dante yelled at the small dragon his hands going up to pull slightly at his all ready abused hair.

The small dragon looked very pleased with herself as she ate the coins the gold on them flashing through her sharp teeth. Apperently eating metal was no problem for the dragon.

Sighing Dante decided it was a lost cause and quickly snatched the other coins and put them safely into his coin case. Looking up at Leon, and eying the small dragon the whole time he asked. "How much did I make on this match?"

"Oh a bit more then the last one but not much." He pulled out another brown bag and handed it to Dante. "There is sixty coins in there. The more matches you win the more coins you will get." He explained.

The rest was just what Twinkers needed. The stairs were awfully large for a Pokemon as small as a Cleffa, and there were so many of them. She had managed a good look around while she sat collecting her energy and breath. The attic really was a mess. Whoever put things here didn't seem to have taken much care of where things were put. In short, the place was a maze of boxes, junk and broken or unused furniture.

"Alright. I think I'm ready now." Twinkers got up stiffly and started to move forwards. "Everyone else ready?"

The Marill's ears twitched, straining to hear something the other two couldn't. "Looks like our Trio is down to two. Tracey is calling for me." The Marill looked torn between going and staying. "Try and be careful. I'll be back as soon as I can so don't do anything too rash, okay?" With that the small blue Pokemon did a rollout attack down the stairs and out of sight. There was a small thud as she ran into the wall at the bottom of the stairs and the two pink Pokemon were left all alone in the dark, dark attic.

"Hey Leon?" Dante asked as he followed the larger man down one of the employies only hallways to the locker room.

"Yeah?"

"Thanks for helping me out here. I would have been lost beyond all belief it it wasn't for you."

Looking back at Dante, Leon smiled and reaching back he ruffled Dante's white hair. "Hey your a good kid. Besides all of us here at the Game Corner look out for one another." They didn't say anything else until they reached the locker room door. "Here you go. Besides the locker's there is a group shower you can use and a few chairs you can sleep in. Some one will come get you when its time to work agian." That being said Leon left Dante at the door and went, presumibly back to work.

Looking down at Kenny, who looked up at him before phasing through the door. Then down at Bahamut who was still muching on the coins and looking up at him through big ink smeared eyes. "Well its time to get cleaned up." Pushing the door open he entered the locker room and quickly spotted the locker with his name on it. Going over to it he opened it up and was surprised to see all his stuff in there, and none of it stolen either. Taking off the jacket and rolling up the long white sleeves of his shirt underneath Dante looked around for the healing machine that Leon had said was in here. After a few moments of looking he finally found it next to a wall and recalling Bahamut. He set down five pokeballs, just to be sure everyone was in tip top shape, and pressed the large red button that had 'HEAL' stamped on it. It started to glow around the balls and a small dinging song was heard before the music stopped and the lights turned off.

"All right everyone its time to get cleaned off." He said as he released all of his pokemon out into the locker room. Apollo, who was his biggest pokemon had to step back a few paces as he appeared to let the other pokemon have some room. Levi who looked good as new, if muddy agian, started running around happily, that was until Moeder picked her up and stuck her into her pouch. Shiva was looking pleased with herself and barked a few times at her trainer. Once being released again Bahamut latched herself onto Dante's arm again and resumed chomping on the metal coins. " Everyone into the shower, yes even you Apollo, a little water wont hurt you and you need a bath and a brushing." There was a lot of commotion as all of his pokemon, minus Kenny who just phased through the bunch, tried to get into the large shower.

"Poison Sting!" Spinarak spit widly at the line of ghosts that had gathered in front of them and sent them scurrying into the darkness. "Damn, can't keep this up much longer. Alright ghosts, I don't know what I've done to piss you off, but this ends now. No more tricks, I challenge you to a three on three match. Three ghosts from your side versus three of my pokemon. If I win, you let us go, if I lose then we spend the rest of our lives in this forest with you. Deal?" Crenu looked around at the silence that had suddenly fallen over the forest. But before long, a group of ghastly bgathered together and took on the vague form of a trainer who resembled Crenu. The phantom trainer extended hand for Crenu to shake, and when he did so the battle comenced. The phantom trainer jumped back and pointed forwards, a ghastly coming out of the shadows to fight. "Poliwag, front and center!" As soon as the red light dimmed and poliwag stood, the Ghastly sprung forward to attack. It's long tongue extended ready to lick the life out from Poliwag's body. "Poliwag use Watergun now!" Poliwag obayed and shot a stream of water directly at ghastly, but the ghost simply dodged the attack and spiraled around it with it's ghostly flight, running it's tongue down Poliwag's small body and flying back into position. Poliwag winced from the pain of the lick, but seemed otherwise alright.

"It's odd that the drowzee attacked you like that. I wonder who made that horrible ear piercing scream of unbrideled emotion?" Z asked, rubbing his chin in thought after he had been informed of what happened. Lyn looked away nervousely and tried to change the subject.

"Do you know why Summer is so late?" She aked quickly as she attempted to regain her cool demeanor. he was still a bit ruffled from the pulse of emotion that had flown through her when she screamed. Twas at that exact moment when . . .

. . . A very disheveled and exhausted Summer weakly opened retraunt doors. "Didn't find Drowzee. Battled Team rocket. Won. Very tired. Don't ask." She mumbled as she slowly shuffled over to the cusions on which Daryl and Locke were out cold and promptly collapsed, joining them in their slumber.

"Didn't think it was really going to be that easy anyway. Alright Poliwag, Bubble Attack now!" Poliwag balanced himself on his tail and spit bubble after bubble in a machine gun fashion directly at Ghastly. Ghastly, much to Crenu's surprise didn't even attempt to dodge the bubbles and instead just stared at poliwag as the bubbles hit directly. The pokemon appeared to be enveloped in darkness as what appeared to be a needle of some kind came from out of nowhere and stabbed Ghastly, running right through it. Ghastly winced, but grinned fiendishly. "The hell? Poliwag!" Crenu watched on as suddenly Poliwag fell ill, dropping back and barley catching himself with his tail as he panted heavily and winced from what seemed like incredible pain. "Curse? Damn, things just got a lot harder..." Though Ghastly was now much weaker from giving up half of its 'HP' Poliwag was now cursed and would suffer dearly from it the phantom trainer grinned and Ghastly began to glow. "Poliwag, Ice Beam!" Poliwag braced himself in the ground and fought through the pain, charging up its ice energy and ready to fire. At the same time, Ghastly also began charging its own energy and once the power was gathered, let out a peculiar wave of energy at Poliwag. As the psywave closed in Poliwag let lose his powerful Ice Beam, tearing through the wave and charging forward at Ghastly, but all was in vain as Ghastly managed to dodge the attack and watched as it passed behind it into the phantom trainer who just disappeared and reappeared once the attack had passed. Poliwag on the other hand, caught full force of the psywave and was sent skidding back by Crenu's feet. The curse was taking full effect now and Poliwag was helpless as he gave into its influence and fell unconscious

"Okay Mr.Hero. I remember," she said giving him a smirk. The duo had been walking for quite a while now and before their eyes was the vast dry, dry desert ahead of them. "South's Mauville and if we head north we'll end up either, one getting lost in the desert, or two, finding ourselves at Fallabor Town," Mitsu said giving her Pokenav a quick check. She had never been the best when it came to directions or navigations. "I say we go south and then check out the desert later," Edward said putting in his two cents. "Sounds great to me," Mitsu said.

"Someone sure seems extra friendly," Mitsu said looking up as the group of soccer players left for another part of the island. She didn't have too many friends on the island, but she appreciated the ones she had. Thankfully Edward was one of them. "Really who?" he asked, genuinely confused. Someone sure is oblivious too Mitsu thought with a slap to her forehead. "Uh, never mind. Wanna go play?" With an agreed nod the two children dashed off to go play.

"Hey Mitsu look out!" Edward shouted pulling her back by her shirt. "Huh?" she asked opening her eyes, now realizing that she had had them closed. "You were about to walk head first into that tree smart one," Ed said shaking his head a bit. "Eheh, thanks," Mitsu said taking a few steps backwards. "Hey, looks like a pair of trainers," Mitsu said spotting the pair only a few feet ahead of them. "How about a double battle?" Mitsu called out to them happy for once that she was the one asking for a challenge rather than the one being challenged. "Sure," the girls said with a smile. They seemed to be a sister pair, one dressed up in a plain yet adorable white dress with hair ribbons and shoes to match. The other sister, the older one Mitsu guessed, was sporting a pair of faded jeans and a fitting jacket. She even wore a blue visor to match. "Four versus four. Two Pokemon a trainer and no switching, okay?" the older sister called out. "Fine with us," Mitsu replied. Each trainer readied their Pokeballs.
