The Bible can actually be a very interesting read, especially if you can find sections that interest you. I mean, reading the Bible doesn't make you go ::poof!:: Christian! Try reading it for its historical and literary value.

I know that, I just never read it for other reasons. I know a few people who have read it. I never will read it ether, I have better things to do then to try reading some old book>_>

Well, it does have some good stories. Things that some Christians would probably look down on today, even. The best example that comes to mind is King David dancing naked in the streets out of joy for God.

I'm taking some Bible stuff with me even though I'm through with Christianity. I've left the Catholic church & I'm now considering becoming a Wiccan. Apparently, I've been thinking like a Wiccan for years & didn't even know it...

There are stories like that? Sounds like the books not as stuck up as some people that claim to know it. If I ever find the one in my room I'll be sure to read it a bit.

Makes sense to me that there's wild stuff in the Bible, because let's face it: God's a party guy. Hell, the first miracle Jesus did was turn water into wine when the wedding party ran out. Not only that, but Jesus made sure to bring the good s**t!

The stuck up parts are mainly found in the Old Testament's law books like Deuteronomy & Leviticus. Those books are also the reason why Jews can't eat pork or shellfish. They don't much matter since the Bible says that Jesus basically made a lot of those laws null & void. Which is really a good thing since that eliminates "An eye for an eye." Doesn't really fit in with the rest of the book. The rules that remain are the Ten Commandments, which can really be summed up in two commandments that Jesus names when asked what commandment is the greatest: "Love God & love thy neighbors as thyself."

Ah, witch hunts. The classic example of damned if you do & damned if you don't.

and crazy, very very crazy. Can't forget the crazy part. But accually towns already had something for overpopulation. They drew papers and whoever got the black circle was stoned to death, well some places did that anyway.

There's also the world's way of taking care of overpopulation: bottle-necking due to a natural disaster.
