Daren got into the passenger side and settled down into the seat once he got his belt on. "I've known Lance-" he frowned and counted back the years, "going on about eight years now? give or take..." he shrugged, "a while, at least. we met at a reha-a cooking class. he was a guest speaker sort of thing and he picked me out of the crowd to come talk to afterwards. had dinner, agreed that they needed to add paprika to the sausage and have been friends since. i can put Iroh's number in your phone while you drive if you want."

Daren snorted, "who's being the dirty one, now?" he shook his head, "naw, we went to this resturant to eat after the meeting and both got the sausages since they sounded good. and they were, but they would have been amazing if there was a bit of paprika in them. it would have added just the right about of spice to it. now, don't get excited, i'm just getting your phone." he slipped his hand into Tim's pocket and pulled out his phone quickly before putting in Iroh's number, but labeling it 'Wanna Be Big Bro' like it was in his phone. he sent a picture of the time when Iroh had fallen asleep on his couch and fell off only to find himself so tangled in the blanket, he couldn't get out to Tim's phone and used that as Iroh's ID photo as well. it was perfect because Iroh was flailing in the photo which was getting him more and more tangled, his face beet red as he yelled at Daren to stop taking his damned picture and help. "there you go. all set."

Daren looked at the building and held in a sigh, "Yay! Let's just hope they aren't all snooty like in the movies." he'd be screwed if they were. "actually, i think i might just take on the big silent guy in the back that scared people away role," he muttered as he got out of the car, "i like that role. no one tries to talk to me." he rolled his shoulders and put his hands in his pockets, feeling the silk and smiling a little. "right, time to go, Tim. Lead the way to booze and cream puffs with a little art on the side."

Daren didn't look at the paintings when they entered the room. he found the exits, glanced over the people that had already gathered and planned about four places to get out of the building or at least take shelter by the time Tim spoke. Only then did he look at the art. "yeah, you're right. that's pretty neat." he smiled and moved closer to the one Tim was looking at, but he kept glancing around the room, scanning for trouble. maybe it was because he was in a new environment, but he just felt like he couldn't quite settle.

Daren didn't drink the wine, but the cream puffs had been good. the art was interesting, the artist having real skill that seemed to be so rare anymore. he hadn't hated the entire night like he thought he was going to, but that didn't mean he wasn't glad to be home. his brain was tired from being on high alert most of the night, but that was a good thing. it meant he'd probably be able to sleep tonight. "no problem." he was in his under clothing, hanging the suit up to sit in his closet for who knew how long. "it was fun, you get all excited and cute when it comes to stuff like that." he finished changing and was heading for the shower, "should i wear a shirt tonight?"

Daren took his time in the shower, enjoying the hot spray too much to get out just yet.

Iroh got a text and sat up in bed, reaching over to check. It was from an unknown number and he almost deleted them, but at a chance of one of his men changing their number, he checked the message. the first picture made him smile, "thank you very much, Tim." at least he knew who it was from now. the second, however, made his heart stop. Daren was standing, looking like he was ready to bolt, with a cream puff in one hand and a glass of wine in the other."s**t-" he called the number, praying it really was Tim's and hoping he would answer.

"Sorry to call so late, Tim, but i need to know something." Iroh was glad Tim had answered, he wouldn't have been able to sleep if he hadn't. "did Daren drink tonight? this is important, just a simple yes or no will do. I need to know, though, even if it was a little bit, did he drink the wine from the picture?"

Daren heard Tim answer his phone and frowned, listening to see if there was something wrong. he turned off the shower and began to dry off, worried that they would need to go out soon. had something happened with one of his moms?
