Now is a time of necessity. There is a foreign shinobi attacking your home. Go fight like a real ninja. If your RPC doesn't defend their home, what purpose does he serve? None. he is useless to his village.

That emphasizes my point even more. As a medic, he should have already been there in case someone needed him, not waiting around to be summoned into battle. Besides, it's not like he is even doing anything else. He should have been at the Gates when the fight started as a backup. For all you know, Zin could have had his leg blown off three posts into the fight, and Sypher would have been too late by the time he'd gotten there.

That's a decent excuse for not having been there prior to this particular moment, but your first action upon realizing that there was a battle going on should have been to haul as to the gates.

And don't think I'm going out of my way to be a jerk about this. I'm giving you something to do. If that fails, I could send you an NPC and you could go through some intensely grueling training.
