Once the fight was over, Mala slipped out of the window and used her barrier magic to break her fall. Once she bounced off and landed on her feet, she approached Van. "You okay?" she asked.

"Yeah...Just been using way too much power in too short a time span....Having the power outage doesn't help..." Van said as he looked up at Mala from his place on the ground. "....I had no idea how comfortable the ground could be...."

Mala moved to sit beside Van, a worried look on her face. "Hopefully, we can solve the power thing soon. I don't want anything to happen to you because some b***h caught you at a weak point."

"Me neither...At this rate I'm going to kick the bucket of exhaustion before I even get to chew out Atius..." Van said taking a few more deep breaths before managing to push himself up into a sitting position.
((Katy Perry is taking over my campus. I can't count the number of times I've heard 'California Girls' since the semester began.))

"That just won't do. How long do you think you'll need to rest? We can wait here for a bit longer if you'd like. Plus...uhm...Riley kind of got Angel knocked up." Mala sighed, wishing she hadn't mentioned it now. "I don't know how long vampire pregnancies last, so we should probably be careful in our travels."

"I'll be fine, I just need to take it easy for a bit." Van said as he got to his feet, wobbling ever so slightly before stabilizing himself. And then he heard the news. "Oh geeze, you've got to be kidding...." he said face-palming.

Part of her was thankful she and Van would never have to deal with this. Part of her was dissapointed. "Their mistake is going to complicate things. I honestly don't know what to do with them. I'm hoping that if they're still comic with us that the child is a silent one."

Mala accepted Van's hand, careful to try not making him fall if he were too weak to hold her up. She smiled at Van, leaning in to place a simple kiss on his lips. Afterwards she said, "That shouldn't be a problem. I'll make sure of it."

Van couldn't help but grin a bit. "I'm sure Riley and Angel will be too busy taking care of the kid and playing the happy couple to bother us anyway."

Mala chuckled. "True enough. Who knows? Maybe the kid may grow up the way they should. I have faith that they'll figure things out eventually. That'll stay just between us, though."
