Reed de Févin "You were my everything.""He loved my song, I know he did, he just didn't want to admit it." grumbled Reed as he put a fist at his hip. Maybe he would've been able to pull off the mariachi outfit if he dyed his hair. When food was brought up, the musician gave a light smile and moved for the door. "Why don't you just beat him up for me?" he chuckled."Your music will live on."

☸ Alan Brandt ☸ "The science of it all is simple." "Yeah, sure. Whatever helps you sleep at night." Alan held the door open, leaning on the handle and shaking his head. "Yeah, because I should definitely go up against a man twice my size and expect to come out victorious. What could possibly go wrong?" He rolled his eyes, then walked out. "The numbers never lie."

Reed de Févin "You were my everything."~~~"You remember how to work the tuner, right?" asked Reed as he looked over Alan's music. This was frustrating. Alan had challenged Luciano to a duel, but Luciano demanded it be a duel over music so he could have the advantage. To add insult to injury, Reed wasn't allowed to help Alan. He did what he could, giving feedback, support, or even making tea to loosen up the scientist's throat, but that wasn't enough. He didn't like being able to help but getting not to. Alan wasn't even fully motivated the entire time, having already accepted defeat, and that was the worst thing a teacher could see. Reed sighed and set the music on the stand. Looking it over for the twentieth time wouldn't help calm his nerves. "How are you feeling?" he asked the smaller man."Your music will live on."

Mayah Playah ☸ Alan Brandt ☸ "The science of it all is simple." Alan nodded for the ninetieth time that day. "Yeah yeah, I remember how to work a tuner," he said, reaching to touch the little box left beside his music. The piano was relatively large, much bigger than the baby grand he was used to playing on. He hadn't even touched a piano in quite some time, but he'd made sure to practice int he time he was given. Didn't make his song any better, but still. He glanced over to the small panel of teachers and tutors that Kiyaka had compiled for them to perform for. He gulped, then looked back to Reed and attempted a smile. "I'll feel much better when this is all over," he answered, pausing to lean up and kiss Reed's cheek. "Whatever happens, it's not your fault, okay? I'm doing all this because I want to. I don't want you to avoid me because you feel guilty for some dumb reason." Looking back to the panel, he sighed, then moved to sit down on the piano bench and waited for Luciano to enter. It was going to start soon. "The numbers never lie."

Reed de Févin "You were my everything."Reed attempted a smile for Alan's sake, but he didn't feel better - it was probably obvious on his face. It was just so unfair, and even though it was obvious nobody would do anything because of some kind of stupid seniority. He hated how the world ran like that. Alan assured him that it wasn't his fault, but it was. Because of him Alan was going to lose his precious lab. Sighing through his nose, the director rubbed the back of his head and watched the doors for Luciano. Maybe they'd get lucky and the singer would catch a cold."Your music will live on."

☸ Alan Brandt ☸ "The science of it all is simple." Like the devil being summoned, Luciano burst through the doors and stepped up to his side of the stage, head held high. He nodded to the panel, then gestured to his accompanist that he was ready. With a deep breath, he closed his eyes and waited for his cue, then opened his mouth and began to sing. His selection was a lovely piece by Schubert, the piano soft beside his strong, clear voice. Unfortunately for Alan, Luciano didn't miss a single note, easily singing the pretty aria with a flourish at the end and a bow as the panel all clapped. He looked over to Alan, looking down at him down his nose, then moved to sit and cross his legs. He didn't bother to seem interested, taking out a thin novel from his coat and beginning to read. Alan swallowed the hard lump in his throat once more, attempting to get rid of it by clearing his throat, although that didn't work. He looked over his shoulder at Reed, smiling nervously, then looked back to the piano. He took a breath, then began to play. His fingers stumbled every now and then, but he managed to get the song somewhat right. His voice cracked many times, as Alan was definitely not a singer, but he wouldn't give up. He kept singing, continuing on through the song. When he felt like he was about to give up, he glanced back to Reed, then looked back to the keys and finished, determined to finish strong. It was clear that he didn't win, but he didn't care. He sang and played for Reed, not for anyone else. He knew he was going to lose anyway. At least now there wasn't a question of how much he cared for his idiot boyfriend. Still though, he felt the tears well up. " Damn it," he mumbled, hating himself for still crying. "The numbers never lie."

Reed de Févin "You were my everything."Reed grunted quietly. Luciano made an interesting, silent intro, for one. Not even warming up or tuning, either, what a cocky guy. But he was good, and Reed hated how good he was. Of course, what else could he expect from the vocalist teacher? The musician then turned to face Alan when it was his turn. The beginning made him inwardly cringe, not because it was bad (and it certainly wasn't the best) but because of such a sharp contrast. Despite all the unintended sharps, cracks, missed notes, and other mistakes, however, Reed kept smiling. He motioned for Alan to keep going whenever the scientist looked at him and smiled reassuringly at him. When the song was over, Reed strode across the room and wrapped his arms around the smaller man in a warm hug. He then moved back enough to cup Alan's cheeks and brush away the tears with his thumbs. "Hey, hey, you don't have any reason to be upset, you hear me?" he said softly. "You sounded amazing. How long had it been since you played piano? You played that entire song with only a few mistakes, that's way better than my seniors. And you never stopped, even when you made a mistake. You sounded beautiful, Alan, don't think otherwise. And hey, you had way more emotion than he could ever have." he whispered with a gentle smile."Your music will live on."

☸ Alan Brandt ☸ "The science of it all is simple." Alan's hands rested on the taller man's chest, his eyes looking upwards as tears leaked out. He couldn't help himself, he just felt like crying for days and days. It was like a piece of him was ripped away, but the end result was worth it. Reed wasn't going to have to go away. He was going to stay right where he was. That was all that mattered. "I lost," was all he said at first, voice hoarse as he flinched, the sound of Luciano being congratulated by the judges for his win. It wasn't even a contest. It was a slaughter. With a short exhale, Alan looked back up at Reed and licked his lips once. "Can... Can we go somewhere that's not here? I don't want him to see me like this." He just wanted to curl up in Reed's arms forever, pull a blanket over them and be held all night until his loss felt less like a loss. "The numbers never lie."

Reed de Févin "You were my everything."Reed nodded. "Of course." He wrapped an arm around Alan's small waist and lead him to one of the back exits of the music building, assured that Kiyaka or one of the staff members would lock up for him. When they got to the car, Reed was reluctant to let go of Alan, so he settled for placing a hand on the scientist's lap. "Do you want to stay the night at my place? We can order all sorts of comfort food if you want?" he suggested and looked at the scientist. "Or we could go somewhere else if you want?""Your music will live on."

☸ Alan Brandt ☸ "The science of it all is simple." Seated in the car, Alan buckled himself in, his hand on top of Reed's. He looked down a their hands, Reed's calloused fingers so much longer than his own soft ones. He smiled a little, then looked up to Reed as he was addressed. "Let's go to your place," he said. "I don't care if we eat or do, I just want you to hold me." He looked back down to his lap, biting the inside of his cheek lightly. "The numbers never lie."

Kenshin Yamada Yasu sat at a drumset in the band hall. It was an expensive looking set, because it was his own set that he got brought into the school thanks to the help of a couple music teachers, both of whom were in his band. He tapped a steady beat, making sure the drums were tuned and nothing was warped, but a red-haired man standing in front of him kept talking. " I'm telling you! My lover is so incredible. Why, just the other day they-" Yasu wasn't listening. When Ken got like this there was nothing that could keep him from talking. The drummer felt his gaze drift to the front doors of the band hall. Jupiter mentioned having a music class, would she be coming in anytime soon? Yasu Ito

Jupiter was late waking up for the first time in a long time. This mainly being because of the hard time she had falling asleep after her "date" with Yasu. Quickly getting dressed, the girl was sure to grab her small bag with the typewriter and notebook she might need for class before finding her way there, tracing the wall carefully and trying to remember her way to where the class was held. Once there, she paused at the door, hearing somebody talking, the voice sounding quite familiar.
Another pause, and she opened the door of the band hall as quietly as possible. Desperately hoping that one, the teacher wasn't here yet, two maybe she wasn't late after all, or three, she wouldn't be noticed. She had mentioned she had this class to Yasu, so maybe by some miracle he would have this class as well. it was wishful thinking on her part. But it would make this class much easier. For at the moment, Jupiter was terrified of the stares she could be getting. She had put on a dress after all. Was she to dressed up for class? She didn't even know which dress she grabbed. She had felt the fabric and it felt nice so she wore it. Everything will be fine...no one will notice I'm sure of it! I hope...I mean the person talking can't be the teacher...right?

Kenshin Yamada It took a moment for Yasu to realize that someone was snapping their fingers in front of his face. He blinked and followed the arm to see an irritated Kenshin watching him. " Hey! Have you been listening?" the redhead snapped. " I've never seen him distracted like this." mused a man that looked far more feminine than anything. Yasu blinked again. When did Kaoru get here? " Shouldn't you be teaching a class?" he scowled. " They're taking a test." the girly teacher said, standing straight. He had a curious look in his eyes. " Did something happen? I've never seen you like this." Yasu shook his head and looked away, trying to hide his small blush. " It's nothin'." he dismissed, but both men weren't convinced. They exchanged looks until something caused the drummer to stand up. " Hey!" he called out to the girl that had entered. He paused, realizing what he had done, and quickly sat down with a furious blush. But it was too late. Ken and Kaoru saw the girl and connected the dots. " A girlfriend?" sang the teacher as he leaned in. " Oh hey, I think I recognize her." Kenshin blinked in recognition, albeit vaguely, before looking at Yasu with a sinister grin. " So you guys hit it off, huh?" The drummer grit his teeth, his ears hot with embarrassment. Without answering any of their questions, he shot up from his seat and made a B-line for Jupiter. " Uh, hey." he said once he reached her. He shoved his hands into his pockets, trying to act normal. Yasu Ito

[ Health ] 100% [ Mood ] Delighted [ Location ] Beach [ Status: ] Single [ Thoughts: ] Su su is here! xxxx
Jupiter could feel the relief wash over her as she heard a very familiar hey call out. ”S-Y-yasu! H-hi!” Now that Jupiter knew Yasu was in this class, all her fear washed away. Though she had almost called him su su while others were in here. Others being one voice she recognized, her face turning completely red as she heard a voice she didn’t recognize speak up. Didn’t they know she had-Oh wait they didn’t know she had better hearing then most people. W-what was his name again? Fiery color…friend who bailed on susu…AH”K-kenshin? I-I think…a-are you in this class to? She was hesitant calling out the name lest she got it wrong. She had only briefly met him at the library. She wondered who the other voice was. Their accusations having been heard was of course played off as if she hadn’t heard what they said. After all she wouldn’t want to embarrass Yasu who most likely didn’t think like that.
Hearing Yasu come closer she giggled and smiled at him. ”You have no idea how relieved I am that you are in this class. I’m not late am I?” Jupiter whispered this to him, her voice low so that only he could hear. She had decided not to mention the other male so that it would be thought she hadn’t heard what was said.
