'Exceed'

Night had fallen the forest as Exceed approached the Palace via a vine swing once again. While the King held a gentle but commanding dominion of the forest, the place itself was still a living body. As Exceed reached the gates of the palace, he felt a tad bit exhausted as he opened them slowly. On most normal days, Exceed would've been greeted with some company, but with how late it was, not many were on duty except for the guards. As such, Exceed moved further in and rested himself in the lobby to try and rest his body up. He needed to do some missions, and with how unbalanced his body and mind were in terms of health, he needed to get a tad bit of rest. He found himself sweating prior to entering REM sleep and cursed himself slightly, getting up a tad bit as he held his sword at his side to maybe tire himself out even more with training.

'Exceed'

Exceed didn't even need to speak as the King seemed to sense the hostilities within Exceed's mindscape and soul. Exceed seemed to have been guided into the King's quarters before he was laid to rest on the King's bed. It felt like a bed of grass to the mechanist as he had not much rest in the last few months that have passed by. The hand on his forehead was a tad bit awkward but he slowly closed his eyes, feeling his consciousness slip away from him until he was in a deep trance of slumber. The kings warnings echoed in the Mechanist's mind as he took a note of them, entering his own mindscape with his equipment at hand.

'Exceed'

Exceed had fallen asleep thanks to his King, his Mindscape feeling clear until the King injected Exceed's own battle into his mind. The mindscape had changed to resemble a base covered in blazes as Exceed's equipment turned into a large Assault Rifle and an Energy Cannon, previous equipment he had. He looked around as the place seemed familiar before he noticed a charging foe as Exceed was quick to dodge to the right. to avoid the attack. Upon turning to see what tried to hit him, he noticed it was a hover vehicle on flames as he soon realized that this was his nightmare's plane of existance. Only, on a much larger scale as his equipment was low-tech and the planes he was at was only three years ago. The place he was at was one of Fraxon's outpost outside of town as he kept his equipment at his side.
Smoke plagued the air as it colored everything a dark shade of red, the flames everywhere as the memory of this nightmare served as a remnent of Exceed's past. As he moved in towards the base, the way he usually did in the nightmare when it was not as surreal, he noticed quite a few enemies on the inside. They seemed weak and helpless, but covered in the blood of humans as Exceed approached them, his rifle pointed towards them. They were quick to surrender as Exceed noticed something glinting on their arms. 'Restraints...' Exceed thought to himself as he walked over and placed a hand on them, deducing the restraints were stronger than before. The creatures were truely helpless as Exceed helped them up and got them to escape the facilities before any more harm was done. As he did so, however, he was spotted by a being who had their blade drawn, before Exceed could turn and see, he felt a searing pain in his left arm.
Exceed turned to see his left arm was, once again, removed as he was down to one arm, rolling away as his left shoulder was bleeding. Exceed kept a tight hold of his arm as he was moving away from the being that did the deed. He stepped out into the light of flames as Exceed saw it was his older brother, Rizen. The white areas of his eyes were darkened into black areas, leaving only his red irises and his pupil to stare at Exceed. Exceed was trying his best to not let the pain bother him as he used the wall as leverage, slowly getting back to his feet as he was glaring at Rizen. "Why brother...." Exceed asked Rizen, who cracked his neck before brandishing his black steel longsword. 'Because I wish to be the only Nerro of our line... and you dying will become my key to ascending to being the captain of this base!' Rizen responded before he dashed in, aiming to stab the blade through Exceed's chest. Exceed had good timing though as he rolled out of the way as Rizen's fast thrust only stabbed through the wall, the blade getting caught as Rizen cursed Exceed.
As Exceed had gotten out of the way, he made it to his feet, with some painful help as he looked to Rizen. As he was trying to get the blade out, Exceed took a step in and thrusted a kick to the skull of Rizen, hitting his jaw as Exceed stepped away and began to run. The corridors of the base were much longer than he had remembered, Rizen shouting at Exceed after the kick and soon Exceed had gotten far enough from Rizen. However, the sounds of footsteps never stopped echoing as Exceed was still running, holding the bleeding stump that is his left arm, getting to a door before kicking it down as he ran into the room. It was the armory area and before him, was a pile of deceased corpses, his sister being included among the pile as he could tell her brilliant red hair from the blood. Exceed gritted his teeth as he decided to use the forge for a moment, the blood drenching his side, he needed the wound to be cauterized. He moved close, the flames spewing out as Exceed soon moved his shoulder till the flames were burning the arm stump. This caused Exceed to shout in pain in the nightmare as his arm felt like it was still there. In the physical plane, Exceed's left arm had engulfed itself in flames, but the fire stayed on just the arm.
Exceed kept the flames going until he pulled his shoulder away since his shoulder was now burned to keep the blood in. He was breathing heavily before ditching his longsword before he got his hands on a shotgun to keep himself ready for the oncoming battle. As he got his shotgun, he placed it onto his back and grabbed ahold of the Energy Cannon, channeling his power into it as he rested himself on the corpses, watching the door for the moment as he was preparing for his brother to enter. Soon, there was large pounding on the iron blast door as he kept the cannon aimed at the door. Exceed was breathing heavily, the poundings being the only sound he heard before they slowly came to a stop. Soon, an excruciating screeching sound could be heard, echoing the armory as he kept his finger at the trigger, wincing from the painful sounds of metal grinding against metal slowly. His cannon's barrel slowly shaking as his eyes were glaring at the door as a small sphere of energy appearing at the center of the barrel.
The sounds had stopped for a small moment before the door was blasted out of the place, Exceed pulling the trigger as he shot the door down and out of the air. At the doorway, charging in towards Exceed, was his older brother who jumped up into the air, diving towards Exceed and the pile of bodies. Exceed ditched his energy cannon as he rolled to the right side, Rizen punching into the pile as blood splattered everywhere while Exceed pulled out the shotgun. He aimed at Rizen's left arm as he appeared stuck and pulled the trigger as Rizen took the shot, his arm being shot off at the shoulder and stuck in the body pile. Rizen jumped away, growling at Exceed as he was trying to reload the weapon while Rizen attempted another leaping punch. Exceed looked up to see he had little time and thrusted his foot out, nailing Rizen's face before the punch connected as he forced the man away, reloading the shotgun once again.
Exceed tried to take aim as Rizen charged in towards Exceed, his right arm already hurting before he pulled the trigger. Rizen had dodged the shot while Exceed's right arm was numb with pain, seeing Rizen coming in as he kicked Exceed up and away. Exceed was sent flying into one of the weapons rack, crashing into it and the weapons as it fell back slowly, the weapons falling out as Exceed was trapped underneath it, his right arm the only limb moving as he could see Rizen walking over towards him, with Exceed trying his best to find a weapon nearby. He reached out as Rizen grabbed a large battleax as he was grinning with dark lust. Exceed gritted his teeth before he pulled out a single shot handgun while Rizen rose the ax up above his head. 'This is the end for you....Dane.' Rizen spoke as Exceed glared at him, pointing the gun up towards Rizen's jaw before responding, "I never go by that name anymore... I am Exceed!" He shouted before pulling the trigger, the bullet going through the air as it went through Rizen's jaw, going through into his brain as he dropped the ax, stumbling backwards as he soon dropped into the body pile. Exceed soon moved his way out of the weapons' rack, trying to keep himself from being trapped under it as he was breathing heavily, the nightmare having come full circle to become a full memory of Exceed's, his regret on killing his older brother as he moved to grab the left arm and began to leave the base as everything seemed to deteriorate into normalness.
Before Exceed knew it, he was back in his original mindscape of nothingness as he looked to his left arm, with it re-attached and everything as he smiled a bit, feeling a tad successful as he conquered the nightmare. He would have to thank Korok for this before he closed his eyes and slowly opened them back in the real world, shaking his head slightly for a moment.

Exceed looked to the King as he moved towards himself, staring at him as Exceed remained silent. The King spoke of how the nightmare's construction was still in Exceed's mindscape and as Exceed raised his head, he was placed back to the pillow, the hand over his head. "To take care of it now... would be the best plan to follow through instead of waiting for it to get worse." Exceed told Korok softly.

'Exceed'

Exceed would've been falling through his memories, the visions passing him by as he was in a dead dive to the ground below. Soon, he woke up and landed on the hard ground of the dreamscape as he looked around. The screams of agony and the appearance of the area's gravestones burned Exceed's own sanity slowly. He shook his head as he stood up, noticing the buildings destroyed left and right. Trees were deceased and terror had stricken the land like a disaster of nightmares. Exceed coughed in his dream from the air around him as he was equipped with his old armaments still. His headband donned his head still along with the rest of his previous style of equipment. Whispers being heard around Exceed as he began to walk slowly towards the skull-endowed city. He could hear Korok in the land of nightmares as he spoke, nodding to himself each time as he stopped at the edge of the pit, where the only entrance was located. Noting about the flames was nice as he soon jumped down into the pit, not expecting that much of a fall as he could see the bottom thanks to the flames. He was quick to use his wind to move around each time till he finally landed at the bottom.
Exceed continued to trek through the tunnel till he finally reached the insides of the skull city. It seemed very barren inside, only a single room as he looked around for the being he was told to find, 'Servant of Nightmare.... I will ensure his end.' Exceed told himself as he checked his rifle and cannon to ensure they were fully loaded and prepared.

Exceed was slowly beginning to get a tad creeped out by the number of ghosts crawling around the entirety of the chamber. Skulls having fallen down as he soon looked down to see his beam rifle and assault rifle transform into various amounts of dust and only being left with his broadsword and a flintlock pistol. If it wasn't for the fact that he had his broadsword at his side, he would've been thinking the nightmare was trying to dress him up as a Pirate. He soon began to hear the ghosts talk as the chamber turned into a Maze he had to traverse through. The sounds were beginning to get on Exceed's nerves, but he shook his head as they were only provoking him, not attempting harm towards him. He soon stopped dead in his tracks when the Gate rose from the ground right infront of his eyes before he raised an eyebrow as it looked towards him. This thing reminded him of something from his past, something he wanted to keep locked away.
The gate spoke, like an old timey man before he gave the conditions for Exceed to proceed. Five chances to answer the riddle or die, sounded simple enough as the being began to speak of the riddle. City infested with crime sounded familiar, but the ice pick murder seemed a tad off. 'Skull and Crossbones....' Exceed tried to think before Gausian paper was introduced with the Media part. "That sounded a tad vague... think you could expand on it?" Exceed asked before he decided to point out something.
'A young woman was stabbed with an ice pick.' The gate's words echoed in Exceed's mind before he snapped his finger and decided to ask. "Where exactly was she stabbed with the Ice Pick?"

Exceed continued to think as the being seemed royally pissed off, and even Exceed was starting to get annoyed by this thing as it kept up the vague hints. He crossed his arms slightly as the cold was getting closer, Exceed started coughing in the real world a few times. "Shut the ******** up ghosts." He told them as he may be in the realm of this nightmare servant, but he was a tad fed up with this place already just lingering in his mind. Exceed's thoughts were slowly calming down as he was breathing heavily in his dream scape. He was trapped here with a nonsensical excuse of a talking gate with ghosts that had metaphorical erections for him. Exceed was the commander of a training army and he had to succeed in this to be finished.
The riddle made no sense as it didn't list anything other than justice, police, this monster's stupid mother, and some crossbone ice pick. Exceed was getting tired of this nonsense and was debating on weather or not to start fighting to get through this stupid s**t. He decided to pick the answer and placed his hands on his hips, glaring at the thing. "The police are the murderers."

Exceed was getting a tad bit annoyed with this being as he sighed and tried to piece the puzzle together. The ghosts and flames were getting closer, the black smoke they emitted causing Exceed to cough both in his dream, and reality. The real him's skin was beginning to turn pale, as if it was being deprived of life before Korok. Exceed continued to ponder on the riddle, trying to make sense of the entire thing as he only had two shots to pull. The murderer knew of the police and how terrible they were, the killer knew where the murder took place, and even knew of the papers and media covering it all. Yet, the being stated how the real murder weapon wasn't found, and yet they knew what the murderer used in actuality, even describing the weapon.
Exceed soon noticed the pattern about who the killer was as he looked up to the gate, his physical body wheezing for air desperately as Dream Exceed gritted his teeth. He soon pulled out the flintlock pistol he was stuck with and pointed it to the moving head of the gate, the ghost's laughter taunting him with death. Soon, the answer provided itself when Exceed realized what the pattern was leading too and soon smiled at the gate.
"The murderer, who knew of the weapon when it was stated to have not been found at the crime scene... who knew what the ice pick looked like... was none other than, you... the narrator of the entire riddle."
