Haro blinked, a smile on his way as he crouched down on the ice, seeing a little fish underneath, swimming away. So the fish were okay... He stood back up with an even brighter smile, teeth chattering as he waved at the other. "Hi!" He called out, golden eyes bright as he slowly crept back towards the shore.

----

"It's..." Wei glanced at the digital reading, "1:30 in the morning. I'd very much appreciate it if you went to your room," he said with a light frown as he filled up his glass with water, kicking off his shoes as he sat near the blank screen of his TV.

----

Benji grinned wildly. "If you don't know then I'm assuming he's outside somewhere. Thank you for all your help," he murmured as he headed for the door. He'd just get in his car and look around a bit. The kid couldn't have gotten far in such cold.

Shin inwardly cursed himself for having given the boy away. "If that's what you think. But I might have been lying," he said casually, following after the other. "What if he went back upstairs?" But, of course, he was merely trying to stall the other. And it probably wouldn't work.

He hoped Haro was somewhere... safe. And hopefully warm. Maybe? Well... it was doubtful... But he could hope.

**

Liao nodded slowly and picked his bag back up again with a small sigh. He took his time wandering over to his room, but once he was there the door closed with a small click.

He set his bag down by his bed and then slumpt down on the cusiony surface. How... boring.

**

The boy did not at all seem the brightest person... but the mongoose was quite relieved (inwardly - he didn't show it outwardly) when the boy began to edge off of the frozen pond.

"Ehhh... what were you doing on the pond, anyway?" he called.

[[I am glad Liao is in his room. I don't think Wei would be happy if he found out he'd groped the kitten. o3o;;]]

Benji didn't stop grinning. It was sad to see how hard the tiger was trying... Deep down somewhere in the pits of his conscience, the bird did feel bad for tearing apart two people who so obviously cared for eachother. "You know what? I'll make a promise... if you can find Haro before I then I won't touch 'im ever again, but if I find him first- Well, it's obvious your side of the deal, right?" He said with a light smirk, orange eyes drifting upstairs.

-----

Haro soon made it to the egde, tumbling onto the snowy baks of the lake. Dusting himself off, the boy shivered heavily as he made his way towards the pale-haired teen. "I was looking for a fish. I have this fish card, you see, and I think the lake people would be okay if I took one of their fish... because I have a free fish card," he explained in a few breaths, his face flushed from the cold.

Shin nodded slowly. "I... accept," he replied steadily, although he couldn't help but feel slightly afraid. This man would most likely have a car and Shin... couldn't risk driving in icy weather. He could drive, yes... and there was a car... but he didn't trust himself to be able to keep out of harm's way.... And besides, he wouldn't be able to scent the other out.

And so Shin quickly darted away from the other, slipped on his shoes, jacket, gloves and scarf in record speed and was out the door and running down the icy road (which was not at all safe for a Hemopheliac, but at least the roads were relitively good, having been cleared earlier), trying extra hard to scent the other out in the cold.

....There.

He glanced behind himself for the man. He didn't want him to follow him....

**

"A... what?" Ea asked, shaking his head slightly in disbelief. "You know... I don't think you could ever get any fish from a lake at this time of year. Maybe you're supposed to get a fish from... a restaurant? Or a pet shop or something." That sounded more likely.

There was something... strange about this boy. He smelled... funny. Ea frowned softly and glanced down at the boy again, his expression curious.

Benji eyed the teen with a frown. He supposed he could be setting him off track... Heading upstairs, the older male glanced in each room before cursing. Wei really was going to rip him apart...

Running back downstairs, the young man fumbled with the keys to his car before sliding in. Pulling out, driving down the road slowly, Benji peered out with a eavy set frown. He had to find the kind before the feline.

----

"Do you want to help me?" The boy asked, pointing towards the iced over lake. If you hold my hand I can make a hole in the ice and then I can catch a fish. He fingered through his pockets before presenting the free fish card with a beaming smile, gold eyes warm as they stared up at the mongoose.

Shin had run quite a distance. It was lucky he was so healthy (apart from his little genetic disease). He glanced behind himself again. He couldn't see the car... and he didn't smell the other bird, although that couldn't account for much. He had had to resume a human form once he had gotten outside, but his sense of smell was still... good. he could smell Haro.

he was closer now, he knew... and the path was familiar. After a moment's hesitation, he reached inside his jacket and pulled a hat on. That would cover his ears. And his jacket was long and hopefully big enough to hide a tail. And the hat would disguise himself at least slightly (or so he hoped) from Benji.

**

At this, even Ea had to become worried. "Mmm... why don't I just buy a fish for you? That way your hands won't freeze and the fish in the pond can stay in their home? Even if it is cold, they might like it there," he replied slowly, hoping to dissuade the boy from trying to get a fish with his bare hands. he would probably end up with frostbite if he did.

Haro pouted, "But they said I could have a free fish! Look," he held up the card, close to the other's eyes. "See, if says a free fish. I can have any one I want. You get to pick them out," he explained, turning his eyes back towards the lake with renewed vigor. "Can you help me just see them? I only got to see one and it was grey and I wanted to see a pretty one," he murmured, shivering as he pocketed the card.

Skipping towards the shore, Haro smiled as he waved for the other to follow him. "Can you just hold my hand so I don't fall?" He asked, stepping out onto the ice for the second time that night.

Damn. Ea followed the other quickly, a shiver running down his entire spine. "Oi. It's not safe, alright? It's really cold. And you won't find any pretty fish in the pond because..." Ea frowned for a moment, trying to think of a stroy the boy would believe. "Because... they're wearing their winter coats. I mean scales. During the summer when it's warm they wear their fesitval clothes but now it's too cold," he explained slowly.

"So why don't I just take you to get a pretty fish at a pet shop?"

**

The park. Of course. A small smile flitted onto the teen's lips. It was familiar for the boy and, better yet, Benji wouldn't be able to drive his car down the sidewalk of a park. So the man would be behind.

Shin began to quest around for the boy, although he was careful to watch the pavement for anything unexpected.

The boy looked very put out. "I like the ones in the pond better 'cause they have more...more space to swim in," he murmured, frowning at the other's explaination. Staring down at his reflection in the ice, the boy continued, "I didn't know fishes could take off their skin..."

Knocking against the ice, Haro frowned, "Hello, fish. Come out. I just want to see you."

Ea sighed in frustration, his bangs wafting up from the small current of hot air before they settled back down. Obviously, he would have to try harder than that.

"If you stick your hand in there the pond monster will eat you," he said after a moment's pause.

The boy instantly looked scared, big, golden amber eyes staring up at Ea with a most pathetic glimmer to them. Scrambling towards the bank, Haro shivered violently as he eyed the lake suspiciously. "Shin never told me there was any monsters living there," he whimpered, shaking as he gazed around the empty park (save for himself and the other).

"Ne, are there other sorts of monsters too?" He asked, looking very concerned about the matter.

----

"Look, I'm sorry. I just- Fine. No wait, Wei! Wei, you f**kin' *ss hole, I said I was sorry. I just can't find him anywhere, it's like the kid disappeared," he yelled into the phone, parking his car along side some unnamed road.

Lowering his tone, Benji continued, "I don't see why he's so important to you in the first place. He's a short, scrawney thing. Got nice eyes but... Why don't you just leaven 'im with this tiger guy? He seems happy..."

((xDDD hah. We have a school t-shirt that says "cherish your angst." x3

Or maybe Angsting would use Dig. And then just never come up again... and just, you know... like wrot down there or something.

Guess whenever I draw angsting I should send the pic to you. xDD ))

Well, that had gotten his attention. "Well... yes. There are. But they usually don't come out unless it's winter," he explained, making this up as he went. "And they only eat short people, which is why you're in terrible danger," he added for imphasis, his bright pink-red eyes wide with something that couldn't at all be described a sincerity, but added a nice affect to Ea's "safety warning."

After a while of careful scenting and walking, Shin finally found him. A smile broke over the teen's lips as he strode towards the other.

"Haro!! Haro," he called, happy to have won.

But wait... had he? There was someone next to the boy. It wasn't Benji, no... that man's hair was unmistacable. But it could easily be another of Wei's cronies.

Had he lost? He didn't know...

[[Cherish your angst. XD On 'tacky' day at our school I dressed up like an emo kid...because I think it's tacky? :D]]

Haro stared wide eyed at Ea, shivering in place as his gaze flickered between the other and the lake. "I could've been...uhm, that monster could've had me for dinner if you didn't save me," he murmured, giving the mongoose a hug before perking up.

"My name?" He gazed around the park, looking for the source of the sound. Oh, it was just Shin. He looked so cute in that hat. Haro smiled for a bit before realizing, "Shin?" The boy waved at Ea before running off towards the tiger, nearly knocking into the tall teen with an enthusiastic hug. Standing on tip toe, the boy gave the tiger a kiss, whispering that he was very much in love with him and that he was glad that he had found him because he wasn't sure how to get home.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 27, 2007 7:54 pm

Shin smiled and wrapped his arms around the boy. He had felt a twinge of... what was it, envy? posessiveness? when he had seen Haro hug the other teen... but it was nothing to worry about. He hoped.

"I love you, too," he murmured, kissing the other's forehead slowly. He was very very happy for having found the boy before Benji did.

"You... want to go home, then? Benji said if I found you before he did then he wouldn't try to get you back to Wei," Shin said. He seemed exceedingly pleased with himself - for quite obvious reasons.

Ea watched as the boy scampered off and wrinkled his nose in distaste the very mushy-gushy meeting between what was obvious a very in-love couple.

Ew.

[[Ea is not fond of the love? XD]]

Haro's eyes widened in surprise, "Really?" The boy looked to be the epitome of happiness, golden eyes just as bright as his smile. Shivering, the small teen continued, "That person over there," he started, pointing towards the ivory-haired teen, "Saved me. He said that I was in danger because there is a monster in the lake and I was trying to catch a fish, I was going to poke hople in the ice and grab one, because I have a free fish card and I can get a free fish, but he saved me from being eated by the monster." He said this all in one breath, flushed and gaspy at the end of it all.

Haro frowned slightly, "Eated... Eated. Uhm, yeah, so he saved me and do you want to help me get a fish? He said it only ate small people but if you come with me then I'll be safe 'cause you're really tall," he murmured before snuggling into the tiger's side, saying something about how cute he looked in his hat.
