Raquel smiled at ease, curled up in his arms in a much more comfortable environment. She loved when they had quiet moments like this. Just holding one another... though she did have one question come to mind, that was worth breaking the sweet silence.

"...speaking of 'Mrs. Centurion'... is your mother buried here on Veratia Damian? When was the last time you got to go visit her?" She asked, purely out of curiosity as she rolled over to look at him.

Raquel blinked, feeling the change in him, even more when he held her a bit closer. She snuggled into him to try to bring some comfort on her own. "...I'd like to meet her....pay my respects and whatnot..." She nodded to herself. That was one thing they would have to do before they left Veratia. "...I need to thank her for raising such a wonderful man..." She kissed Damians collar bone, finding it to be the closest and easiest thing.

Raquel furrowed her brow and situated herself up so she could look him in the eye, taking his face in her hands sternly. "And she would be so proud of what you became and what you are now." She pushed some of his hair back, away form his eyes.

Deep down she wished Damian's mother was alive as well. She'd love the idea of speaking with someone about Damian who knew him well, and by the way Damian spoke of her, she was a beautiful, lovely woman... Some one Raquel would have loved to meet, let alone loved to have as a mother herself.

Raquel felt her eyes getting hot with tears she was fighting back. but if she were struggling, how did Damian feel?
"Th-...then I'm grateful I fell into your world Damian... for both yours and my sake..." She let herself make contact with his lips, briefly, and sweetly, letting him know through action as well as words.

That shocked Raquel She had never seen Damian have much emotion towards his family, even when they mentioned his mother. Her heart went out to her. She felt the same way towards her Mistress. She was the only loving guardian she had ever had.

She shushed him and cooed to him, bringing his head to her chest so she could hold onto him, stroking his head, fighting back her own sympathetic tears. "I know... I know darling... I know how it is to feel all alone... But listen... there's sadly, little I could do to change the past... believe me... I would if I could..." She sat and thought, wondering much like Lorey did, if she could bring her loves loved ones back. In his own words, if his mother were alive, He'd be a different person. Maybe happy, and much like he is right now... but still have his mother... If that meant he wouldn't be at the hotel that night to save her, or fall in love with her... she'd be ok with that. But Damian would argue, this she knew. So she kept silent on that matter, knowing it was an impossible feat anyhow.

"...But in due time...we'll build our own little family... That matched with Richard and Lorey's....they're children can be like our nieces and nephews... and we can just all be one big happy family..." She knew he really needed someone to be there for him, after being there for so many, but that was the tricky part. Raquel would try to fill that role as best as she could.

Raquel sat up as well, hesitantly placing a hand on his shoulder lightly. "Damian... the only things that worry me with you...are the things you don't tell me... Things I can sense are wrong but don't know exactly what or why... Never hold back your problems from me love... ok?" She seemed to almost beg this of him, her green eyes soft but serious, wanting him to look at her and see for himself she was.

Raquel sat up more, scooting up behind him, so she could hug him, resting her head on his back. "Soon enough... Lorey and Richard will be off the planet, safe and away form any harm... And I can protect myself Damian, I'm a big girl... a big girl who knows she has some abilities...I'm sure some can be used for self defense..." She tried to joke, but quickly transferred back to serious. "And if we're going to be married Damian... we both have to be prepared to face hideous storms and trials instead of running away from them...we're adults Damian... And remember when I jsut said yes not minutes ago? That meant I knew there would be conflicts, perhaps fights, some public disarray, but I didn't care because I was willing to go through it all with you... not for you... with you." She let that sink in moment. "Damian I swear to you now, whatever is thrown at you, whatever tries to swallow you whole, you can look over and I'll be there next to you, grasping your hand and taking another step forward.... " She pressed her forehead agaisnt his shoulder blade. "Because I love you... You'll never have to be alone again Damian... I promise you that..."

Raquel just let him pour it out, those his words touched her heart. IN one afternoon, their entire lives had taken a new path. One that seemed bumpy and rough, but with a wonderful, happy goal in sight.

"Shhh...there, there...and- I love you too..." She got choked up on her own words, kissing his shoulder lovingly, just letting him cry. "I want you to just get it all out love... I rarely see you cry.... I know you've got hurt in there...and it needs to be let out so your heart has more room to love and smile and laugh..." She let her soft hands move up his chest from behind him, up to his heart, feeling it beat a bit faster with his sobs.
