Esmeralda shrugged again, deliberately, knowing it was a motion that tended to piss people off. "Not you. Specifically." She slid the halter over the mare's nose, and Sahara pranced in place, excited to go outside. Esmeralda smoothed a practiced hand over the horse's neck. She didn't smile, although you could tell she wanted to. It seemed she was just attempting to keep herself hidden around Chris - probably she was wary of opening herself up again. "If you're curious, you should talk to your sister and her boyfriend. Now, if you'll excuse me briefly?"
Sliding the stall door open and clucking gently to Sahara, she walked out past him. The mare pranced alongside her, occasionally nudging her if the girl wasn't going as fast as the horse wanted.
She didn't look back.

Chris didn't take offense at her when she shrugged for he was used to it. His sister did that to him all the time so it didn't bother him when other people shrugged. "So you have something against my sister, do you?" he asked her as he moved out of her way and started walking beside her. He had seen how she wanted to smile but didn't comment on it. "You know, Summer has been rubbing people the wrong way for a long time, and everytime she does the people seem to transfer there anger to me, just because I'm related to her and her older brother. It doesn't bother me anymore, so I'm guessing you have a problem with Summer and decided that I was just like my sister, well I'm here to tell you I love my sister and don't want her hurt. I'll also take her side when she's in trouble just like your brother does for you, but I live my own life and I've learned not to take offense when people shot me cold looks on account of my sister." Chris said to her. He was smiling at her the whole time he talked hoping that he had gotten through to her with his explaining. He wasn't easily provoked into anger unless it had to do with someone or something that he cared at great deal about. He discovered just a few minutes ago that he was devloping a big crush for Esmeralda and he couldn't help himself either. He was thinking of how beautiful she looked, and wondered what her smile looked like. Non of his thoughts showed on his face, however, which in his case was a good thing. He just contiuned to follow but not real close he walked beside her, sure but there was quite a bit of distance for he didn't want her to feel crowded.

Xavier smiled a little at her, marveling in her stunning beauty. The basic attitude - of a deep, passionate love - stayed, but concern took over the rest quickly when she held up her wrist. Go like this, he said to her as he waved his own wrist around in circles. If it hurts like freaking hell, then you're probably right.
As he finished his sentence, he stopped playing with his own wrist and examined hers briefly. Spraining wasn't visible in the least, wasn't it all inside? He was no doctor, but at least he could assume.
Putting her wrist down after a moment, realizing he looked like Tarzan exploring Jane's hands for the first time, he smiled a little and hugged her. Of course I was worried about you, silly.Teasingly, on the word 'silly,' he ruffled her hair. Realizing it was still slightly damp, he wondered if she would want a shower.
Damnit, no more dirty thoughts!
Continuing shortly afterward then in an attempt to keep from jumping Summer, Xavier said, 'We' was your brother and I, and then maybe Esmeralda. Hard to be sure ... but at least I think so ... I think she calmed down a lot or somethng. He shrugged nonchalantly. He didn't feel like deeply analyzing the whole situation or anything like that. Not right now.
Hugging the girl beside him again and smoothing out her hair from the playful ruffle, he offered to her, Do you want to go get breakfast, or take a shower? God knows how you might be feeling right now.

Summer smiled at him, then began moving her wrist in circles and bit her lip to fight back a scream of pain. She bit down on her bottom lip so hard that she drew blood. She stopped moving her wrist then and said, "Yes it hurts, alot to much to do that again." Her face was pale as she focused on what he said about her brother, him, and Es being worried about her. "I don't think Esmeralda will ever forgive me for what I've done, and she shouldn't I don't deserve it. Who knows maybe I deserve this pain that I'm feeling in my wrist." Summer said as she leaned into Xaiver huggin him back but keeping her hurt wrist out of the way. "I want a shower first and then I want to go eat breakfast. Will you join me in the shower?" Summer asked him remembering the deal they made that they wouldn't do anything for at least three weeks and that it was supposed to start today but she didn't say anything to him about. She stood up and then offered him her good hand to help him up while she held her injured wrist against her chest. She heard voices below and wondered how they could sneak out with out anyone seeing them yet for she wasn't ready to face anyone but Xaiver just yet. "I love you so much that it hurts sometimes," she said suddenly needing him to know how she felt.

Esmeralda's deep dark eyes turned to him and examined him minutely. For a moment it was as if she was looking right inside him. "I'm sure," she said quietly. "I'm also sure that you think you're doing me a favour by explaining all that." Sahara gently nuzzled her shoulder, making her reach up absently with her free arm to stroke the mare's nose. "The thing is that at the moment, it's not helping. I know you love your sister, so right here and right now, I have to tell you that I'm nursing a lot of hate and a serious grudge, and by telling you that, I'm preventing myself from trying to take revenge. Keep it in mind."
Sahara whickered at the other horses in the paddock as Esmeralda opened the gate and let the mare walk inside, locking the gate behind her. Upon undoing the halter and letting Sahara go free, she climbed out again smoothly. The mare pranced, bucked, even reared twice, and Esmeralda couldn't help but smile. After a minute or two, however, she seemed to realize what she was doing, and her face closed again. "I have to get back," she said stiffly. Turning her back on him, she went back to the barn - not running, but walking very fast.

Chris just let her be for the time being. He was sure he would find out what the grudge was about sooner or later. He took off toward his horses stall and then walked inside and lead Thunder out to take him to the pasture.
