Des slowly nodded again, "Yeah, I have no intention of doing a 'Charge of the Light Brigade'. We need ... someone with access..." and idea popped in Dr. Powell's head, "Apex, how many people in the intelligence field know about you and your association with Deathstroke? If you would be comfortable with it, we might be able to send you in as an agent. If not, I'll find another way. And... if you do get in over your head, I can bail you out."

Apex blinked, stopping his kata. "It's common knowledge among the more shady members of metahumanity that I'm Deathstroke's apprentice. Many of the more cowardly of them crap their pants when they see me; I now know what it's like to be Batman, and I don't even need a cape and cowl," he said, unintentionally making a joke. "Funny thing is, I've got an associate Oracle knows rather well. They call him 'The Calculator'. He's been mission control for me when Slade would send me out alone, but I've not heard from him since the Multiversal Merge. I don't think he made it."

"Hmmmmm... is that so?" Des mused, "Oracle could pretend to be 'The Calculator' online and contact someone at I.O. to offer your expertise. 'The Calculator could point out how I.O.'s battle with the Titans and the X-Men as to why they should hire you. It's risky, but might work."

"Sounds like a good plan to me; though specifically it would be regarding the Titans. It's very common knowledge in my universe that Deathstroke has a... complex history with the Titans. It would make sense for them to believe I'm apprenticed to Deathstroke to continue his... 'legacy'. In fact, that's very much true," Apex said.

"That sounds like a plan," Another thought crossed Des' mind, "What about the programed assassins of Stonewall. Stonewall was part of I.O., we know that. Do you think we can get anything from the two assassins we've have in the holding cells?"

Apex frowned slightly. "Stonewall... The people that were killing off the Titans," he said softly; he didn't know much more about them than that, though. "You have no idea how angry my master was when he found out what they were doing... He may have a complex history with the Titans, but that... I don't think even he would do that. As for the assassins having information, it's possible. We could try interrogating them, but I'd be wary of any bugs on their persons or possible telepathic connections to someone in I.O."

Des replied, "Professor Xavier doesn't think they are mentally linked in any manner. He checked. Charles has been having Cyclops keep an eye on them so they can't attempt another escape without us knowing. Let's let Oracle in on our idea before they decide to go charging the guns. Kesshou can be very impulsive."

"Impulsiveness can get you killed," Apex replied, stating the obvious. "Regardless of that, talking to Oracle would be nice..." he said, not realizing what he had just said.

The girls exchanged a look after Nightshade followed Apex out. Impulse looked around the room before she followed the veteran out of the room while her older sister stayed. FG didn't have a problem with this... they trusted Nightshade.

Impulse listened from a fair distance to the conversation. So Apex was going into the field. From their talk, their logic was sound... though a second factor caught the girl's attention. It didn't appear to her (from just now, and earlier experiences) that Apex was much a people-person... but he wanted to talk to Oracle. She peaked around the corner, not necessarily trying to hide her presence anymore, to observe the man's expression in a split second.

For that split second, Apex realized what he had said, and he briefly had an "Oh Crap" look on his face; this was removed very quickly however, and he looked normal again before looking over to Impulse.
"You were listening to our conversation," he said immediately. He hadn't heard her approach, but it was still fairly obvious.

Impulse had caught this 'accident' of his... and she smiled a bit before she approached the two of them. She was very comfortable around Nightshade and even though Apex acted like a jerk, and despite his occupation, he had a hidden softness.... that Victoria could have sworn she just witnessed. The girl was still staring at Apex as she stopped next to Nightshade.
"I was."
She didn't us a 'matter-of-fact' tone... or any kind of hostile voice at all. She only continued to look him in the face with her hazel green eyes.

Apex had yet another "Oh Crap" expression, along the lines of: "Oh crap, did she overhear what I just sai-- Yeah, she's got a little smirk on her face..."
He let out a small sigh, and asked: "So what are you doing out here? Wait, don't tell me: You were just curious, being a ten-year-old."

"Just be careful, you don't know what they have equipped as IO scientists. But what their info doesn't state clearly enough is their fighting skills. That and they won't let up on anyone, especially if they know they are meta-humans."
Kai answered through her communicator, almost hoping to not have a returned answer.

Nightshade simply turned his attention from where he saw victoria approach back to Apex, "Well.... she is a curious ten-year old."
.....
Inside the War Room, Oracle heard Kai's response, "We can't exactly sit here and do nothing. We need hard intel, or we're going to die. we have to find a way to shut these guys down."

"Are you thinking I know about IO... I only know about the Summers, and it's on an unwanted personal level at which I'm not willing to discuss. Just, Jack Summers is more of the brutal hand to hand, or, more like, hand to weapon combat fighter, while the woman, Rose Summers, she is more of a strategist, and long range fighter. As far as IO I have a feeling like taking them down would be as hard as taking down Cadmus."
Kai said taking a load off with a heavy sigh breathing in.
