"oh...oh...um.." Izumi's face turned red. "Well...I went shopping with mom before I came here and she heard that the school was right by the ocean, so..." she trailed off and shifted around slightly on the underwater bench. "I am slightly nervous still about this place. I just feel kinda alone, like I'm a foriegner...just by being normal." she laughed. "'Course, most people back home wouldn't describe me as normal...." she sighed and sank futher down into the steaming water, closing her eyes.

"hm.. i see. You shouldn't feel so out of place though, the people here seem really nice and willing to accept practically anyone, at least from what i've seen" She dipped under the water for a minute to wet her hair and then she opened her eyes and then looked at Izumi "but that's not at all what's troubling your mind." She laughed, "i know better" she patted her on the head, "but it's ok if you don't want to talk about it"

Izumi growled. "What did I tell you about patting me on the head!!" she looked up to give a playful grin to let her know she was just joking but when she looked Mia was as close as when she woke Izumi up.
"I-it's nothing..." she said moving backwards jerkily to the other side of the pool without looking at her. "I know you're right. It's a silly worry. I mean, with you and Nevaeh and Inu-girl I should do just fine." She sank down to where her nose was just far enough above the surface of the water to breathe.

Retreats to the other side of the spring and thinks if she fears me what will everyone else think? how can i get by if my own sister can't even stand to be near me she closed her eyes once more and focused on the water that sorrounded her, half hoping she could somehow teach herself some new magic.

Izumi glanced up at Mia. She could tell that she had upset her by her rigid movements and that made her feel really bad. But she hadn't been able to help herself...after....
"Mia...?" Izumi said in a small voice. "What do you...how do you feel about...boys?" she looked at her anxiously, barely aware that this was somewhat of a subject change -.- she couldn't get her mind to focus on one thing for too long.

She blinked a few times "Boys?" She grinned, "they're fun to look at, but quite dangerous" she played with the dragon pendant that was on the necklace she never took off. "they can be sweet at one moment and rip your heart out the next.. or they can just die on you" her voice became cold and she fell silent for a moment, her words were all in mumbles now "..they can die and leave you with nothing but a foster family who fears for their lives because of you"

Izumi didn't hear her mumblings over the bubbling of the spring. She looked away, face slightly red. "I know this is going to sound stupid and totally unlike me, but...I've always wanted the kind of guy totally opposite of me. Someone who is dark and mysterious and cool who lives on the edge. Oh boy why am I telling you all of this sweatdrop " Izumi turns away, blushing.

"you're telling me because your parents aren't around to eavesdrop on every little thing you say" she sighed "besides, i'm your big sister, you're supposed to tell me these things" she focused on the water again the rhythmic sound of the bubbling numbing her thoughts but at the same time bringing back painful images

"W-well I suppose that is true...." she looked down into the water. She was never like this before. Maybe Mia was right, maybe her parents did watch her a little too closely. Maybe if she didn't feel trapped in a prison she could accept things better, and in turn be less of a scaredy-cat. How different would things be if she hadn't been sheltered this whole time? Would she be cool like Mia or Sakura? Or would she end up with that tormented look in her eye like Nevaeh had? She longed so much to understand but was almost afraid to. Just like she was afraid of everything else. Izumi was so lost in her own thoughts that she hadn't noticed how still Mia had become.

She slowly slid further down into the water until she was completely submerged. She was aware of what she was doing, and aware of the fact that she would soon loose oxygen so after a few short moments she returned to the surface and took a silent, shallow breath. Her reflection in the water looked back at her in sadness and a voice in her head told her she would be alright. She glanced at Izumi without really looking up and then submerged herself into the water again. This time when she resurfaced she was in a memory, she blinked a few dozen times and her true sorroundings came back into view.

Izumi glanced at her sister. "Mia? Mia?" Mia was standing up, looking straight out as if she didn't know anyone else was there. Izumi waved a hand in front of her face. Nothing.
"Oh man...ohmanohmanohmanohman..." she could feel that familiar sense of panic rising up and she grabbed her sidebag and pulled out a can of cheese. It was a desperate attempt to get herself to calm down and think rationally.

She blinked a few times "huh?" she looked at Izumi, "aw man, you're gonna get cheese in the spring. this is a hot spring, not a cheese spring." she laughed as if nothing had happened, her memory completely erased of something.. something.. what was it? she tried to remember but her mind drew a blank and she sighed.

"Ohhh....sorry Mia...I was trying to keep from spazzing like I usually do so I wasn't really thinking. Not sure if my brain works quite as well this late at night anyway." She yawned. "I haven't seen anybody around in awhile you think everybody's already turned in or something?" she added.

"maybe they have, i'm not sure" she looked at her sister curriously, "why were you all spazzed out to begin with, you had no reason to freak out" she suddenly longed for something she couldn't put her finger on, almost randomly she asked "are there any single guys here, heh, i need someone to flirt with"

"I don't know...I've only seen two guys so far and niether of them seemed to be interested in me...not that is really much of a surprise..." she sighed and gave Mia a puzzled look. "I did have a reason to spaz...you were blanked out there for a second. 'Course, I could have easily ovvereacted again..." she gave another yawn. "Hey let's go back to the dorms okay? I don't want to be stuck falling asleep here in my swimsuit. I'd wake up all pruney!" she shuddered at the thought.
