Shin was, then, quite awake, his bright eyes mimmicking the other's golden hues in their wide-open aspect. Haro... leaving? Because of Shin? Because he was... worried about... him?

"Haro... don't leave me, please...." he began, his voice a subtle whisper as he gazed imploringly over at the other, his heart racing. He knew he sounded... desperate. But he found that he didn't mind because that was, in fact, what he was. He... he couldn't... He had finally allowed himself to fully feel -- feel what he felt for the boy. And he was going to leave to protect him?

That couodn't be right. It just couldn't be.

"No one will hurt me, I..." he began. But he had to stop himself. How could he honestly be sure that no one would hurt him? For all he knew, this Benji person might not mind being a murderer....
Don't leave. Don't leave...

Haro found himself mulling over the phrase in his mind, but it wasn't just don't leave. He had said, don't leave me. Brows furrowed as he tried to grasp the entire meaning behind the tiger's desperate plea, Haro shook his head lightly before he pressed a kiss to the older teen's neck.

The small boy took a few steps backwards, lingering in the other's doorway, "I just... I just want you to know that... y-you're the nicest person I've ever known and-" He had to stop then, because his tears were making it hard to talk. Rubbing at his eyes with the back of his hand, Haro continued to struggle, "-and...I'll miss you a lot."

At first, Liao had thought he had the wrong room number (perhaps the twins were actually triplets and the third of their number occupied yet another room?), but upon closer examination (which basically meant a glance inside to see Wei sitting relaxed at a table further in), he realised that it really truly was Vi.

"I... uhh...." he began, staring up at the other in mild disbelief. He wasn't sure at all what to say to the obviously drunk rabbit. "Wei told me to come here?" he said hurriedly, glancing back over at the snake.

Wei blinked, the presence of the kitten slowly registering. The snake wasn't nearly as affected as by the drinks as the rabbit. He could've assumed that those few drinks were the first of their kind Vi had ever had. Standing up with a slight waver, the young man slid past Vi, who was beaming at him. Ruffling the dark haired teen's hair, Wei grinned weakly before turning glassy green eyes upon the boy. "Sorry about that, Kitten. Gettin' back kind of late, aren't you?"

Liao shrugged, his gray eyes fixed on the other's bright green ones. "It's not all that late, considering that you're still up..." he murmured slowly. He was still of mixed and (and mood) since Penn's departure and it was making his mind rather... vacant.

At least he wasn't drunk like Wei or Vi.

Shin gazed helplessly up at the other. He could get up now... he could stop Haro from leaving. He could... make him promise not to leave.

And yet he couldn't bring himself to force the boy to do anything. He just couldn't... do that. His heart was hammering, heavy with dread, and, almost unknowing of his own actions, he stood up slowly.

"Please don't, I--" he began. But he couldn't finish. His gaze eventually lowered, bright blue eyes fixing on the floor as he forced himself to sit back down. His hands were trembling slightly in his lap and his eyes fixed on them as he tried to will them to be stilled.

"I... I need you," he said softly, voice nearly inaudible.

((angstangstangst. Geez. He's been saying a lot of those 'I ___ you's lately...))

"Just because I'm still up doesn't make the fact that it's late any less true. Besides, you're much younger than me... Whoever brought you home at this hour better have a good explanation," Wei grumbled with a heavy frown, jade eyes narrowed bitterly.

Waving lightly at the rabbit, who was still giving him a pleasant smile, Wei pressed a hand against the kitten's back, nudging him out of the doorway. "Later, Vi~"

-----

[[Indeed, he has. :O]]

Haro turned his head away. "Why do you have to make this so hard?" He didn't want to leave...but he didn't want to see Shin get hurt. "You know this won't be the last time...someone uses...uses-" The boy glanced at the tiger for a few moments until he let his golden-eyed gaze drop. "Someone tries to use how I feel for you against...either of us, and I just- I just don't want you to get...hurt."

There were a lot of ways people could get hurt though. There was the kind that made you wince because someone slapped you, or the kind that made you cry because your heart just didn't feel right... and there was always the kind when you just wanted to go away because too many things hurt inside.

He knew he might spare Shin a bit of physical pain if he left, but what about the others? Before the boy could continue, he was jerked away from the door, out of view.

"You don't follow your promises very well." He said it with such a scowl on his face that Haro almost thought he'd done something seriously wrong. The older bird didn't look very happy. Maybe Benji really hadn't wanted to hurt Shin in the first place... He hadn't wanted to do anything of this at all. Haro wasn't sure how he knew, but he figured that somewhere past the anger, Benji was...an okay person. Digging nails into the boy's shoulders, the older man's grasp had lessened cosiderabley at Haro's cry. "Owowow. Nnnnmm, Wei b-bit me and-"

"Just shut up and... get moving." He hadn't sounded nearly as mad. Almost sad as he pulled his hand away from the teen'sshoulder, wiping hints of red, that had pooled through the boy's shirt, on the back of his pants.

((Just watched "The Illusionist." zmg<33333))

"Right. You can ask Penn if you ever see him," Liao replied, his tone steady. He didn't need the other's nudges at all - in fact, he was likely to be much more stable on his feet than Wei was. But he didn't protest because, he knew, it would just make a useless mess.

**

And Shin was back up on his feet the moment Haro cried out in pain. There was no way what's-his-face was going to be allowed the hurt Haro. Not ever. Tousled indigo locks splayed across his features, the dark muss of hair contradicting his overly-pallid skin, he followed quickly out of the door.

His tail was swishing angrilly, ears back, he rested one hand on the frame of the door (the nails of said hand having grown quite a bit). Shin was usually calm (or at least he tried to be, but he had always been a bit on the nervous side). He had always tried to be understanding... withdrawn, perhaps, and a bit of a recluse, but he had tried to be kind.

But he would never stand for someone willingly hurting and--

Eyes locked on Benji's, his bright eyes were feirce, the pupils slightly slitted. He took a step forward. "Don't take him, don't you dare hurt him." His voice was more growl than speach, but still understandable.

[[I've never seen it. :O]]

"Who is this Penn person, again?" Wei asked with a frown, gazing down the hall for a moment or so until he felt the boy continue further towards his apartment. Blinking several times, he continued as he hurried to keep up with the kitten, "I thought you mentioned him before but...I can't...remember." As a matter of fact. he couldn't quite remember a lot of things right then...

----

Benji almost sighed as he glanced at the rather furious tiger, one hand still clenched on the boy's shoulder (thankfully, his uninjured one). "Look, I don't really want to hurt someone over this, okay? I reallyreally don't," he explained with a hint of a frown as he pushed the boy forward, quirking a brow as Haro expressed with a heavy sniffle, "You're hurting me." One more step, and once again the boy said, "You're hurting me!" Louder, that time. The young man grabbed the teen by his collar, orange eyes narrowed, "I'm barely even touching you so just sh-"

Haro stepped hard on the man's foot, yanking his shirt out of the other's grasp as he fled down the hall. Just get him away from Shin, he'd figure out something to do... Benji stared, wide-eyed, at the place where Haro had just been squirming and struggling away. "Wei is going to kill me," he muttered softly before taking off to chase down the teen. He almost hoped the kid would trip and break something. He'd be easy to take then...

"You have some sort of split personality or something?" Bo asked somewhat peevishly, although his tone was merely conversational. He was obviously still quite irked over the other's snootish prejudgment of his bee nature.

Moeteko looked at the boy out of the corner of her eye and smirked.
"Split personalities? Not in the least..."
She continued to munch on her cookie.

"He's my music teacher," Liao replied, not including any detail whatsoever as to why his music instructor, of all people, would want to take him out. "This is the door, right?" Liao asked as hey came to the snake's room. He wasn't quite sure if Wei had even recognised where they were, what with the very difficult task of talking and walking at the same time...

Shin was startled for a moment as Haro managed to distract the other and run. That was... at least he wasn't in the man's grip. Yet. But Benji was likely to much much fastr and much stronger than Haro and... Before he managed to even complete the thought, he was racing off down the hallway (although considerably more carefully than the other two, as part of his mind was always wary of cutting himself).

Bo rolled his eyes to show just how much he believed the other and settled back onto the chair he had been sitting in before, his unsticky hand reaching for his book. He began reading this, his face mere inches from the tomb and its nearly illegibly small script, occasionally dipping away for a spoonful of honey.

But Benji was likely to much much fastr and much stronger than Haro and... Before he managed to even complete the thought, he was racing off down the hallway (although considerably more carefully than the other two, as part of his mind was always wary of cutting himself).
Wei muttered something under hi breath that sounded distinctly like... '*****.' A term that Chang liked to rattle off at him just because he'd...been known to facy people would just so happened to be a few years younger. But Liao was like...twelve or something. That fact that his music teacher had...taken him out to go do something was sick.

"And how old is this teacher of your's?" He asked in an almost possesive one as he stared dumbly at the apartment door as if waiting for it to open on its own. After a minute or so, something must've clicked because the snake pulled out his key and unlocked the door with a proud grin.

-------

Haro had scampered down the stairs, made his way through the kitchen, around the table and then must've decided that under the table was not a good place to hide because when Benji reached the area, the boy was nowhere to be found. Now, the older bird did not have a very heightened sense of smell like others, thus unfortunatley for him he couldn't exactly trace the kid down. The house smelled too much like him to begin with...

The boy had somehow snuck his way outside, breath coming out in large puffs of white. It was cold outside, what with all the snow and stuff everywhere, but he had thankfully put on his shoes as Benji had asked earlier. Sneakers crunching against the snow making foot prints, the boy froze. Benji would be able to see his tracks...and he couldn't fly that well with his wings still clipped- not to metnion he didn't want to risk leaving his clothes behind when he changed forms.

Biting his lip, the small teen retraced his steps and jumped from puddle to puddle of slush. It was cold, but at least he wouldn't make tracks. The roads were cleared, and one he made it to there he'd be able to run forever.

((xD;; I love how everyone seems to think he's like ten or something... even though he told Chang he was sixteen. Guess he forgot. xD ))

Liao shrugged. "'Dunno. Maybe twenty? So he's about four years older than me, I guess...." he murmured.... He had caught the other's muttured insult. A small frown curved the boy's lips down. If Wei thought that of Penn, then he had probably thought the man was in his thirties... or something like that. Which was plausable, but annoying. The thought that Wei might think him several years younger than was actuallity didn't seem to occur to the boy.

**

Shin finally made it downstairs. The man was down here... but Haro was outside. He had heard the quiet click of the door and had smelled his scent fade slightly... Hopefully the boy wouldn't tracks or...

Haro would be cold. he might even die. Shin... had to find him. Had to... to get him. But he had to lead Benji away first.

He located the man in the kitchen and, glaring intensly at the other, asked, "Why? Why are you doing this? Isn't it enough that... that man-" he didn't even want to say Wei's name "has already tried to ruin his life?"

The snake made a satisfied noise as he opened the door, as if he was okay now with the age difference. He realized that Liao was not twelve, but he looked like it... Twenty was definitely a stretch, but it was better than anything else he had been considering.

"So what'd you do? That weasle seemed really insistant on getting you to him," Wei murmured with a frown as he remembered the pale-haired...mongoose piece of crap, who was by no means attractive.

Haro swung his legs as he shivered on the cold bench. The small teen had somehow made his way to the park Shin had showed him earlier. Staring out at the silver-lined lake, the boy shoved his hands into his pockets. Soso cold. At least the lake was pretty when it was all...icey cube looking. Haro wondered what happened to the fish and the ducks when the lake got too cold.

Curiousity getting the best of him, Haro made his way towards the edge of the seemingly frozen lake. Pressing a sneaker onto the hazy surface, the boy was amazed to find that the ice held for the most part, making tiny little cracks and hairline streaks that went unnoticed as he tried to find a fish underneath the ice.

------

Benji turned around slowly, meeting the tiger's glare with a glare of his own. He didn't think he had much of a reason... He just- Quickly dismissing any sort ofthougts about Wei from his mind, Benji frowned softly. "What do you mean, ruin his life?" He asked almost gently, still glancing around in search of the boy.

((Wei really does have a thing for younger guys, huh, if he's even thinking about a mongoose. 8D;;

Butit'ssoweird. I mean, Wei's like marjorMr.perv, right? And yet nothing's happened to Liao. Maybe that's just 'cus the kitty is a pissy little thing. O: ))

"Dinner. And a movie," Liao replied shortly, having grown rather tired of the other's questions. He followed the other into the room and glanced around out of habbit.

"And Ea is Penn's younger brother... He always seems to be on some sort of errand for Penn... though he doesn't seem pleased about it," Liao explained with a small shrug. "Guess maybe it's like black mail or something?"

**

"Well... do you think Haro would be running from him and... and you if he at all wanted to be with... him? And... and he bit him. And..." Shin stopped, bright blue eyes lowering to the floor, his ears back and his tail swishing uncomfortably. He looked rather distressed. It was obvious he care a lot about the boy.

[[Yep, he's pretty *****. D: I think Wei is more protective of him than anything else. I'm sure if he saw the kitten in less clothing he'd have a hard time not jumping him...buuuut~ X333]]

"Must be some hefty black mail to be someone's little...servant," Wei muttered, ruffling the kitten's hair a bit before stumbling off towards the kitchen. "I think you should go to bed. It's late. I'm relatively intoxicated. Those two don't mix very well," he murmured with an almost grin as he reached for a glass.

-----

"Fish, come out! Fiiiish!"
Haro frowned slightly. Maybe they were further out in the lake...
When he tried biting an ice cube it always hurt his teeth so this ice would be thick enough tto hold him.

-----

"I made a promise. No matter how much you care about him or how much Wei hurt him I made a promise and I'm not going to go back on," he said slowly, moving out of the kitchen, staring outside with a frown. "Where is he?" He asked, staring at Shin with a light frown.
PostPosted: Sat Jan 27, 2007 11:21 am

(( 8D;;;; Ohdear. So now he's all big-brotherly on the poor kitty?

And DD: for Haro. I'm soso worried about hiim. ><))

Liao shrugged to show that he'd seen the affects of those two mixing before -- but not the affects Wei was implying. Liao had only seen violence... his mother's violence.... The possibility of a different outcome didn't seem to occur to him.

"I'll... try. M'not really tired, though," he replied, glancing up at the other for a moment as he leaned down to set his bag down on the couch.

**

Shin frowned. A... promise? Then Benji seemed rather stubborn to hold to it... and it would likely be harder to disuade him.

"I... don't know," Shin replied slowly, a note of fear creeping into his voice. He didn't know where Haro was, he... Oh gods, he hated this.

((And now Ea returns. Because he can.))

Breath blowing out in puffs of white, Ea shoulders his bag and cut across the deserted part. It was cold. Very cold. And that pissed him off. Or perhaps he was already pissed because Penn had been gloating all night (thus the mongoose had escaped his brother as soon as was possible). He was sick and tired of always playing the messnger... and the 'gofer.'

And it was then, as his thoughts were consumed with hatred for his brother, that a call of 'Fiiiish' distracted him from his own thoughts. He glanced up to find -- a boy standing on the lake. Which was frozen... but probably not for long.

"Hey. You," he called, cupping his hands over his mouth to make his voice louder. "You know the ice'll probably crack if you stay there, right?" And of course, as was Ea's way, he did nothing whatsoever to help the boy other than call out to him.

((He's so sick of being forced to help with stuff that he no longer does anything voluntarilly. 8D;; ))
