Damian said nothing for a few moments, until the silence became a bit uncomfortable. He was just thinking. "I need to do better things with my money..." he whispered. "You always asked me what made you different from the next girl who was suffering. I should... I should open a safe house and have it run by professionals ho can take care of it when we move. Do you still want to do that? Go to Druis?"

Raquel gave his head a slight push, so that he could sit up and look at her. "I want to if you do... I'd be happy to get off Veratia, but just as fine to stay. Damian, what have you not gotten out of the card board box metaphor? I don't care where I am. I have no preference, as long as I get to be with you..." She spoke softly, taking his hands in hers. Though she had to admit, his offer to open such a place for young women like her made her smile. She wasn't sure how much it would help though. There were a few girls like her, innocent and just trying to survive, who simply cant afford a better life. But there were others as well, who were more selfish and deranged. Some who were addicted to drugs or alcohol, others working in full fledged whore houses. Raquel had almost been forced into one of those, but the ones in charge, she'd seen the beatings and murders committed, as well as the reactions to drug overdose and disease. No Raquel stayed far away from that, in hopes of not burying her soul alive in filth and grime.

"But you might not like where I take you. You might not like the people or the house. I don't want you to be unhappy, so I always ask..." His eyes looked like a child's trying to please his mother or talk his way out of a bad situation. The cardboard box metaphor was sticking to him, but he still wanted to hear her say that she wanted to leave Veratia.

"Damian honestly, I've lived in the filthiest parts of Veratia, my neighbors have been crime lords, murderers, drug dealers, and even worse. Any where you take me is better than that and I'd love it." She put her hands on his shoulders and looked him directly in the eye, much like a mother trying to reassure or correct a child.

He nodded. It never sunk in fully how bad her life was before they were thrown together. He was always in comfort. Scandalous, sinful comfort, and she had always been in hell. "I'm going to get us a very cozy place, that both you and I will choose together, and we'll take of from Veratia with Trinity in tow. But we should probably wait until Richard and Lorey are moved into their home so we don't have them stranded here." Damian smiled to her, asking with his eyes if that all sounded alright to her.

Raquel answered him with a kiss, and a nuzzle. "Though, I must say...I dont know if I'd like the country... I mean I might like it...I just wouldn't know what to do with myself." She furrowed her brow and twisted her mouth, looking like a confused and frustrated five year old. "Where do you see us as newly weds love? I honestly cant say I could imagine it..." She smiled softly at him.

"Well... why don't we try the country? Or maybe suburbia instead. We have such a long time to figure this out." Honestly, Damian was for the country just because of the cleaner environment, but Raquel had a point. they were city creatures, and a change like that might not go well at all. Suburbia would still be filled with people, but quieter, and Druis was a clean place even there.

Raquel perked up and nodded. "Sounds good to me...we can scope out the area when we go for Richard and Lorey's wedding. Knowing those two, I'll bet you they'll have it there somewhere..." She smiled dreamily, but then ended up trying not to squeal once a thought hit her. "AH! I'm engaged!" She looked down at her hand again, feeling all the emotion rush back. "It seems to surreal! Oh my gosh Damian..." She looked back to him, just beaming and bursting with joy.

"I'm engaged..." he said right back. A lovely feeling to know that everything was settled between them. They would be married. But something odd popped up in his mind, and he wanted to know what she thought of it.
"When we do go to find a house wherever, do you think we'll have kids somehow?"

Raquel's face seemed to cloud over ever so slightly as a hand subconsciously went to her stomach. According to the doctors... she couldn't have children. She hated that because Damian knew, and she knew how much she wanted them... but she was never really sure about Damian.
"M-m...maybe we can adopt or something..." She said through a forced smile, though there was no hiding the sadness in her voice.

"When we're ready. I was just thinking if we wanted an extra room, you know... I am sorry I brought it up, I shouldn't have." Damian reached out to stroke her cheek before letting his hand drop. They were so happy and he just had to mention kids to mess that all up.

Raquel snapped out of her self pity enough to take his hand and place it back on her cheek herself. "No, I'm sorry... I'm happy really I am... ecspecially now that I know you actually want kids too..." She gave him a more sincere smile this time. "You'll make a wonderful father Damian..." She added, closing her eyes as she nuzzled her cheek in his hand.

"But not for a very long time!" he said nervously. Suddenly he sat up, got to his feet, and scooped Raquel up and back onto the armchair so they could snuggle and be warm there. "Everything settled and sorted before we think of a family. Do you want to stay in here, go out into the living room, sleep...? You feel a little chilled."

Raquel sighed, snuggling up to him. "I'm fine anywhere, though I must say I am getting sleepy..." She looked up at him. "Would you like to escort the future Mrs. Centurion to bed love?" She asked witha childish smile and blush, cocking her head.

"I would love to escort my future wife to bed." Damian carried her like the bride she would be from the library, through the living room, to the other side of the house where the bedrooms were. This time, they went to Raquel's room for a change of pace, where he slipped her under the covers and crawled in himself to fawn over her and make sure she was warm.
