As he tightened the dressing Marie woke up from the sudden shock of pain. "Vlad?! You haven't stopped bleeding! I can get us out! I promise I will!" Marie stood up and grabbed Vlad. She carried him Back outside. Limping along the way. Reaching the exit and outside she went to the closest troups. "Men please help!" She called out to them. They came running to them. Exaughsted she collasped still holding Vlad.

Vlad wakes up in his room, he tries to ask what's going on but he's so weak he can barely stay awake.

Waking up in her room, she realized that Vlad wasn't there. She quickly sat up in bed. "Vlad?!" She felt dizzy and laid back down. "Where is he? I'll just teleport to him." Marie closed her eyes to open them and see that she was in the same room. She opened her mouth and didn't feel her fangs. "I'm human! It worked. But what about Vlad?!" Marie slowly got out of bed and grabbed a robe and walked the halls leaning against the wall and limping.

Marie sees some gaurds outside Vlad's room, one approaches, "Miss Marie, you need to be resting."

The guards stay still, "He sleeping. The healers said he shouldn't be disturbed."

very frustrated Marie said, "I wont wake him up. I just need to see him. And I know how to heal wounds too. So I can asure you that he will be fine." Marie walked forward to the door and placed her hand on the door knob.

Vlad says in a strained sounding voice, "Let her in." The guards stand aside.

Almost bursting throught the door Marie shut it behind her and went to Vlad's side. Hugging him Marie began to cry as she said, "Vlad are you ok? Please tell me you'll be alright." She wouldn't let go of him.

Vlad holds back weakly, "I'm going to be OK. They said physically I'm all right, but loosing most of my blood has kinda taken the wind out of my sails. They said the enemy scattered suddenly for no apparent reason. Guess that means without the boss they flaked out."

Marie cried in relief and joy. "I guess so. I'm so happy you're alright. I was so scared." Lifting her head up and wipping away her tears she said, "Oh yeah and I'm human." Marie smiled and reached for his hand to hold. She leaned forward and gave him a kiss on the forhead.

Vlad holds Marie's hand back, "Totally? You're not afraid of being mortal again, not being ageless?"

"Yes completely. But with all the spells I've learned I think those are still with me." She smiled at him softly. "I want to be able to grow old with you. Vlad you finally gave me what I wanted most, a free life." Marie had a big grin on her face as tears of joy fell.
