He might have been able to come out sooner, Gion signed to Lore thoughtfully, if the sword hadn't been hidden away so that no one could use it ... but it was found by a healer, and he hid it, and it was only after the war that I found it in the ruins of the old city.
He chuckled inwardly to Daemon. If that was any indication, he thought, it's going to be big.

"Then that was incredibily lucky," Lore murmured.
After all what was the chance that anyone would find the sword in the ruins? Or that anyone would bother to look for that matter? He wondered what Daemon did in all those centuries while he was alone.

Daemon laughed softly at that, for Gion was right about that, but they would deal. They always had before, besides there wasn't much use for him now since Gion didn't travel anymore.
Yes... you are right.

As the afternoon wore on, Gion took Lore outside and showed him around a bit. He felt a little strange about the idea, considering that Elnara was still asleep and he hardly knew the man, but still.
Galdor still hadn't come back with Lex, but Lothiriel had come back and said that he was still out looking for Lex, who apparently was out in the fields. She was walking with the two of them, chatting almost non-stop to Lore about anything and everything.
"... and one time, when I was little," she was saying at the current moment, "I got lost in the vineyard, and even though all the rows go the same way and they all lead to the path that goes back to the house, I kept going between the rows and in different directions because I didn't know which way to go, and this was before I could see things in my head, so I was really lost, and I was out there for a whole day before Mama finally found me because even though she can see things in her head too by the time she got to where I was supposed to be I was in a different place again because that was before I knew that if you're lost you're supposed to stay in one place so that someone can find you ..."
Gion was only half-listening, and he couldn't help but wonder when she found the time to breathe.

Lore had begun to wonder part way through this particular story exactly what sort of child Lothiriel had been. He would imagine a very interesting one, at least that is what it sounded like. He was trying his best though not be shy, or at least trying to hold a conversation.
Even though it sounded like she was speaking the story on one breath.
"So what time did she find you?" he asked blinking.

The girl had to stop and think about that for a moment, but even still she continued to talk.
"Well ... it was at night, because it was really dark outside, and the moon was full, but it had to have been really really late or really really early in the morning because it was after the bats went back to their roosts and the coyotes went back out to the desert, but there were lizards and stuff with me so I wasn't lonely ... but I was out there since just after breakfast the day before so it was a long time, and Papa was angry because I wasn't supposed to be out there so I didn't go out there again for a long time ..."
And so on.

Lore nodded, not really being able to do anything but nod at her words. After all she went on and on, and somehow questions only seemed to fuel the contstant chattering. It reminded him of someone, but he wasn't completely sure who at this current moment.
Or maybe he was imagining things.

Daemon was pretty much snickering inside of Gion's hand, after all he got to listen to all of this. Even though he could have as easily tuned her out. Still, it amused him, partly because she didn't get chances like this to be that chatty.

" ... but even so I like coming out here now to see the animals, because even if you can't see very many of them there are always a lot of animals out here, they just stay in hiding most of the time because they don't like people very much, they're scared of us, probably because a lot of people just kill them ..."
As she rambled on, Galdor finally came into view just ahead of them, standing with a taller man. The two of them were inspecting the rows of grapes, but when they saw the others approaching, they turned and headed in their direction.
"... but I mean sometimes you just can't help it because we have to eat too, and we can't eat just plants all the time, we have to - hey look!" Seeker interrupted herself, tugging on Lore's arm and pointing ahead eagerly. "It's Galdor and Neko!"

"So it is," Lore smiled.
For that he was relieved, not that he minded her chattering, but the way she chattered made it seem like he was a wall since he couldn't really respond back. It made him feel bad, because he knew it tended to fustrate normal people to be talking to a wall....
He wondered if she noticed.

As the two came closer, Galdor hung back slightly, as if he were hiding behind his grandfather, but the elder elf stepped forward confidently, smiling warmly, hand outstretched to Lore.
"Hello," he said warmly. "Welcome to our home. You must be Lore ... I'm Lex, Laer's husband, Nadya's father."

Lore took it, shaking it firmly and he had to smile. It was nice to meet the rest of the family like this.
"Yes I am," he smiled widely, "It is good to meet you."

Lex chuckled. "I see Gion's got you out on tour already. What do you think of the place? It might not be much to look at, but it's better than the desert, and it's home sweet home."
He looked around and grinned. "Aye, I wouldn't live anywhere else."

That, Lore wasn't going to disagree with, anywhere was beter than a desert really, but this place certainly was like an island paradise didn't it?
"It is an amazing place," Lore admitted.

"Aye, I've always thought the same," Lex agreed. "I've been working here since I was a teen, and leaving has never entered my mind. The only time I go anywhere else is on deliveries."
He looked around a bit, then looked back at the others, his expression somewhat confused. "I thought Galdor said that Elnara was with you," he commented, puzzled. "Where is she?"
