Anna-Marie stayed leaning against the tree, she had seen that coming. "You know, you shouldn't assume things....I never said you weren't welcome..." She called out to him before picking up her bag and heading off in the opposite direction. She wasn't going to chase after him. He could come to her. .
Carina pushed some hair behind her ear. "Nope, not really....I can't think of anyone." She replied, wondering how long he would stick around. She hoped it wasn't for long. What Carina really wanted was to spend time with Neville again, however, with all the Slytherins hanging around, it was not likely.

Jake screeched to a halt and spun around. She was walking away. Was she really interested in him? Was this part of her ploy? Flirting was a game of chess. You both put out your best tactics and the best tactic usually won. Right now...she was winning.
The 7th year ran after her and when he caught up, slowed down to walk at the same pace she was. "So...what're your plans for Halloween?"

Devin frowned a little upon Carina's response. But he quickly recovered and gave an even wider grin, as if it were a look of petty towards his fellow Slytherin. "What about you, Rave? Got any single friends that might be interested?"

Daniel waved goodbye to the Hufflepuff classmate he had spent the last several minutes with walking her back to her Common Room. They were to continue their talk of D&D later as she had to study, but she seemed very interested, not only with the game but with him.
His cheeks turned a crimson red as he thought of her only to find himself standing in front of the Hufflepuff entrance staring stupidly towards it. He blushed further when a group of other students had come up asking about his business and he scurried off to find Jake, wherever he was.

Anna-Marie counted down in her head. ' Three....two....one." It was then that she heard the footfalls through the glass. Moments later, Jake showed up beside her. She turned her head to look at him momentarily as she walked, thinking of how to respond to his question. "Hmmmm...Halloween? Nothing planned at the moment...." She answered back casually, heading towards the castle.
Carina tried to ignore the look on Devin's face as he asked Raven. Seriously, if the guy wanted a date that badly, he could go and find one on his own. Then again, he was probably used to having things handed to him.

Raven smirked. "Sorry, but I'm going with Draco, and I heard Pansy was going with Carina's brother. I bet Moaning Myrtle would love to have you as her date." She said taking Carina's hand, running away, lauing so hard she almost couldn't see.

Devin gave the two girls a deep frown/glare as they ran away. That really put him in a bind and it made him feel a bit depressed. He turned his head in time to spot Daniel Evans walking through the halls...by himself for once.
The Slytherin grinned and cracked both his knuckles as he approached the young Gryffindor.

Daniel had been minding his own business, searching for Jake. Mainly looking towards the girls. It was no secret that Jake had been looking for someone to take out to the Halloween event coming up, and so that's where he was looking first.
Then suddenly an arm wrapped around his neck putting him in a snug headlock.
The words, "What up Dan-Dan..." made him think it was Jake, seeing as he was the only one who insisted on calling him other things besides his proper name. But the strange British-accent made him turn his head to see who it really was and his eyes popped wide in terror.
His plan had worked. Devin had successfully trapped the little dweeb in a head lock while mimicking Jake. His arm tightened around the 6th year's neck and the wanna be Death Eater prided himself as he watched the Gryffindor squirm. Daniels mouth opened and Devin planted a fist into the young boy's gut, cutting off his cry for help. "What say you and I take a trip to a certain girls bathroom? I'm sure Moaning Myrtle would be absolutely excited to see someone trying to mimic her by squeezing their head into one of the pipes." Devin started to half-drag/half-lead Daniel to the bathroom in which he was talking about.

Jake Defi grinned a bit in slight triumph at her answer. He hoped she didn't have a date making it slightly more easier for him to hopefully take her himself.
There was always a chance of rejection...and it would hurt, but he was no rookie to rejection. He had taken it before and taking it here wouldn't be too bad though it WOULD prove troubling to him as he was NOT a certain Slytherin to go off and pick out someone from that part of the Slytherin crop.
"Well...how about a date with me?" The question was deliberately hesitant. He didn't want to seem more desperate than he already was.

Anna-Marie knew where the conversation was heading, and she didn't have to be a seer to know that. After he finally asked the question, she stopped and turned to look at him. She bit her lip in contemplation. Yes or no, yes or no. What would the answer be. Instead, she decided to answer with a question. "Why do you want me to go to the dance with you?" .
Carina didn't laugh until they were a way's away from the Slytherin boys. She would have played it safer, but Raven drug her off. She caught her breath as the two of them slowed to a walk. "That was insane..."
Neville had been keeping an eye on Carina. His fists had clenched when he had seen Devin wrap an arm around her. But, he played his part, staying out of sight. He was relieved when Raven pulled Carina away from Devin. However, before he went to find his girlfriend, he spotted Devin trying to pick on a sixth year Gryffindor, a boy he had seen around alot. Daniel was what he thought the boy was called. Neville walked up to Devin, already upset for him putting his arm around his girl. "Let him go, Devin..."

"Or else what, Mr. Orphan?" Devin snapped, turning around to face his new foe still keeping his prey in a headlock. "Mr. Potter wanna-be gonna put me down?" He mocked further as he pulled out his wand with his weak (left) hand and pointed it towards Neville. "Don't make me laugh, Longbottom. I might accidentally use the Cruciatus Curse on you."
Daniel choked further as he tried to pry apart the arms that had him locked in this predicament. He saw Jake in the distance walking with someone with beautiful white hair. The young Gryffindor pointed past Neville towards them as he croaked out, "Get...Jake! Turn around!"

Raven sat on the grund. "I'm sorry. He's such a creep. I couldn't help it. He pu his arms around two taken witches. If our men had seen that what do you think they would have done?" Raven asked looking up thoughtfully. "I think they would have hexed the bloody hell out of him. That would be preferred." she said with a large smile.

Anna-Marie zoned out while she waited for Jake's answer. A glance of the near future. She saw Neville calling out to them as they walked. She looked on in horror as the Gryffindor in the headlock behind Neville was quickly hexed while had tried to get their attention, and a split second later, Neville got the same treatment. Then, Jake joined in the now growing fight, sword flashing in the light. She couldn't let that happen, all those people get hurt. No, she wouldn't. After a split second had passed, she had pulled Jake behind a tree, and kissed him. If she distracted him and kept him out of sight, Neville could get the other Gryffindor out of trouble without there being a huge battle. However, her mind got distracted from her mission as she found herself rather liking kissing Jake. .
Carina nodded in agreement. "I know, I know.....Draco would have a fit...and Neville would be fuming inside, knowing he had to come up with an excuse to get back at him." She explained, plopping her bottom down next to Raven.
Neville started to turn to see what Daniel was talking about, however, out of his perifial vision, he saw nothing and turned back to Devin and Daniel. Without a second's hesitation, he shouted "Stupefy" at the Slytherin, aiming for the dead center of his chest. He knew if it hit the boy, it would work. He had mastered it back in fifth year in Dumbledore's Army.

Jake's eyes went as wide as saucers when he was pulled behind a tree. Unfortunately for Anna-Marie, he had done a little spin and had caught a glimpse of Devin, Neville, and Daniel in the distance just as Neville cast the first blow.
Then they were kissing. At first he didn't kiss back, but then he did but only for half a second. "Stay here." Jake said, not wanting her to get hurt as he sprinted towards the two Gryffindors and the one Slytherin that just won't take the hint.

Devin made a face. "Oops." He said just as he moved to the side and let the spell hit Daniel in the face. The 7th Year let the Stupefied Gryffindor go long enough to put him in yet another headlock that put him behind Neville's unintentional victim. His wand now in his superior hand, he pointed it towards Longbottom and shouted, "Crucio!"
The unforgiveable curse made it halfway, then Jake and his blade suddenly became the target. The curse touched Jake's sword, and in that split-second, Jake turned the blade so the curse deflected up into the roof. "What the HELL do you think you're doing!?" Jake screamed, his voice carrying throughout the halls.
The Dark Lord supporter was thoroughly pissed at Jake's intervention. "Move aside, Jake! This pest needs to be taught a lesson in who his Superior is!" Devin growled as he raised his wand again. Big mistake.
Jake shot forward and pressed the edge of his blade against Devin's neck drawing blood. "Back. Off." His voice was shaky and filled with heat, but it was low. Sounding almost like a growl coming from a Wolf.
Devin pulled his head away to try to move his neck away with stepping away. Of course he still had the stupefied Gryffindor in his arm lock, but he had seen the sort of practice Jake participated in. His friends would cast summoning charms of different human sized objects and Jake would practice against them.
Lately however, he had seen the young man train in close encounters such as this. At first it was sloppy and there were a couple times he had dismembered both the hostage, and the hostage-taker. But recently Jake had gotten deadly accurate and it made Devin have second thoughts.
The Slytherin glared at Jake for a while then smirked and backed off a few steps putting his wand away. "I see what you're planning, mate. You'll get what's coming to you Longbottom!" Devin spoke to first Jake, then yelled over to Neville before he headed for the infirmiry checking to see how deep the cut in his neck was.

Anna-Marie was sort of suprised when he had kissed her back, but then grew frustrated as Jake left. So, her plan didn't work after all. Great. Even though he mentioned for her to stay there, she didn't. She instead began to walk off once she noticed that Jake was tending to his friend after the fighting was over. She was walking at a distance, keeping an eye on the boys when suddenly someone grabbed her from behind. "I don't think your girlfriend will be too pleased that you have your hands on some other girl..." She stated. .
Crucius Lestrange had gotten ahold of the little seer he was sent for. "Pansy understands. It's part of my duty." He stated matter of factly. He wasn't particularily fond of retrieving the girl, but with Halloween drawing near, it was nearly an everyday thing. The Dark Lord wanted to know if the girl had seen anything interfering with the ceremony, anything about Potter or his friends. He began leading Anna-Marie back to the castle to meet with the Carrows.
Neville tensed his jaw. Figures. He could never get anything right. Sure, he was greatful that the interfering Slytherin had deflected the Unforgivable curse, but he was frustrated that it had to be done in the first place. "Thanks..." He said flatly to Jake. "He should be waking up soon..." He said, casting a glance at his fellow Gryffindor. He knew it showed that he was upset, but he didn't care anymore .

"Yeah." Jake sighed having sheathed his sword and squatted down next to Daniel, turning him over so that he was on his back and out of the way. He stood up and turned around towards the other Gryffindor. "Thanks for trying to get him out, Nev. Devin does this all the time, can't seem figure out what 'no' means. Hopefully the cut I gave him will knock some sense into him." Have gave the boy a wide grin and smacked his upper arm in a friendly gesture. "Cheer up. Your time'll come." Jake said as he sat down on a low wall waiting for Daniel to wake up.
He hadn't forgotten about Anna-Marie, but leaving his friend like this with Neville to watch him felt selfish. Felt wrong. The Slytherin would have to go look for her later.

Anna-Marie knew the way to the Carrows' office pretty well, so she led the way. While she walked, she cast a glance across the grounds at Jake and Neville and Daniel. She felt bad for leaving, but it was required to ensure her family's safety. She'd find him later, if need be. Maybe he'd find her first. Her face flushed a slight shade of red as she remembered that she had kissed him. .
Crucius didn't really pay attention to the actions of the Ravenclaw. As long as she was walking to the Carrows', he really didn't care what she looked at. However, when he spotted a blush on her face, he couldn't help but chuckle. "What's got you all flustered?" He asked, not recieving an answer as the girl's face hardened and she ignored him.
Neville shrugged. He doubted that statement. "Maybe..." he responded. It was odd to be speaking civily with a Slytherin. Neville was still not used to doing so with Draco, now Jake was talking to him. Odd, indeed .

"Not 'maybe'. You will. You're part of the DA, for christs sake!" Jake shouted, throwing his arms up and waving them about. "You're here bustin' some Death Eating heads while the Harry kid is off doing something else..." He said, then poked Neville a little hard with his index finger as if to have pointed at him and accidentally poked him. "To me, you're kinda like a Lieutenant. Ya know? Not exactly the top man, but one of them. People look to you for hope so there's no need to get all beat down over being saved. Everyone needs to be saved once in a while."
Daniel couldn't help but overhear, despite being Stupefied. "YEAH!" He screamed sitting up and pumping a fist in the air.
Or not.
He blinked and flexed his fist a bit then moved around.
"There! See? Good as new." Jake exclaimed, putting a hand on Daniels head. "How you doing, little bro?"
Daniel gave a slight blush at the unofficial title, though his parents seemed to think so as well. "I'm fine Jake. Thanks for the save Neville." He said, looking up at his fellow Gryffindor.
The Slytherin smiled and stood up stretching a little. "Well...I'll take my leave." He helped Daniel to his feet. "Take care, Dan Dan. Got a gift for you later on. You're gonna love it." Then he turned to Neville and gave him a hearty slap to the back. "Thanks again, Gov'nah." Jake used his best British accent as if to mock but at the same time mean his statement before walking back towards the tree as he laughed at his own joke.
Though once there...
"WHERE DID SHE GO!?" He screamed in shock. Then he hung his head low in somewhat defeat. "Dammit..." Jake did a mock sniffle and turned to head back towards the castle when he spotted a little white speck in the distance. It was either snowing or he was seeing things, but the speck was hidden once in a while by a figure right behind her. Probably another guy.
"OI! I saw her first!" Jake screamed after them as he ran to catch up.

Neville couldn't help but smile at the two. "Thanks.. a lot." Was all he could say. He didn't think he could say much more without sounding a bit mushy. He couldn't help but laugh, though, when Jake tried to speak with a british accent. Before he knew it, though, Jake was off. "Hey, no problem Daniel. Let's get you up to Gryffindor tower." He said, reaching his hand out to help Daniel to his feet.
Anna-Marie's blush had nearly disappeared after a minute. However, when she heard the familiar voice and footsteps approaching from behind them, it returned with full force. The shade of her cheeks stood out brilliantly from the shade of her hair. Needless to say, the blush was extremely noticible .
Crucius turned to look at his fellow Slytherin. "I doubt that..." He said casually, only to be met with an elbow in his side from Anna-Marie. He tensed in slight anger. "What is she to you, Jake? Besides, I have to take her to the Carrows." .
