*Luke walks over to Dafyd, beer in hand.* No, man. *Luke holds out his hand and Dafyd hands him the cap. He shows his it attaches.* Cap off the bottle.
Be nice if you could spend 'em though. *Luke hands him back the beer cap and takes a drink.* I'd be a ******** millionaire.

:::Cora chuckles at Luke's comment:::
There's no currency in this realm. Or else some of us would have run up an astonishing bill by now.
:::She joins Luke behind the bar fetching a bottle of the port Dafyd had last time she saw him and drew up two glasses for the both of them. She hands him one:::

*Dafyd accepts the glass from Cora* I thank you.
*even as he says this, he fishes a rough disc of silver from from the purse at his belt and tosses it to Lwc*
Not entirely dissimilar.

*Luke catches the coin. He holds it up close to his eyes and looks it over. It was thin and uneven in shape. One side had a picture of a dragon. Luke turned it over. The other had a picture of a man. It wasn't real heavy, but whatever early time period this guy was from, it wasn't like they manufactured alloys yet. It was probably real silver.*
*Luke turns it over in his hands, impressed. He suddenly wonders...*
What year are you from?

Wow. *says appreciatively* No s**t. *Luke's off his game - a good 700 years off. He figured that Syr Dafyd had been in the Crusades.*
*holds up the coin* So what can one of these buy you in 516?

:::Cora takes up the coin from Luke's fingers and examines it herself... wondering what the snake-like beast was supposed to be... and then she remembered a similar looking image. Dafyd had a snake-like creature picture on the skin of his arm. She looked up, too wondering what this kind of 'money' was worth in his time:::

*Dafyd grins* With one of those, you can buy as many lickspittles and lackwits as even a king could want. For a few more, a competent man or two.
With a purse of them you can buy the broken promises of your enemies, and with chest full of them you can buy salvation.
Do you need any of those things, Syr Lwc?

*Luke looks at Syr Dafyd oddly and lets out a short laugh. Luke had an enemy or two... or five. Money hadn't really helped him with that though. As for "salvation", Luke knows that's not for sale.*
*says casually as he looks to the coin in Cora's hand* That's tempting.
But all I'd really have to do is take that coin back to my time and sell it to the right history museum. That'd probably be enough to set me up for life.

:::Cora shifts her gaze from the coin, and looks at Luke from the tops of her eyes, disapprovingly:::
You know, I don't think the purpose of you appearing in the Brink is to upset the economic balance of the early 21st century.
:::Though this would explain some things about that point in history... She holds her tongue:::

*Dafyd shrugs* If it would benefit you, Lwc, by all means, keep it. I have more than enough of them and little enough use for them.

*Luke looks from Dafyd to Cora and then to the coin. Would be cool to have, but ... he'd had to explain where he got it, how he got it, and .... This place is making him enough of a weirdo already. Besides - Luke's got 99 problems, but money's not one.*
*Apparently, it's not Syr Dafyd's problem either.*
Naaah, that's alright. I don't think anybody'd believe me that I got it from a guy from 516 ... in a bar I can't prove exists.
*grins and points to Cora* I oughtta take it, just cuz of the face she's givin' me though.
