Tacitus
I want to know something. If someone uses an area attack that is too big to just dodge, is that an autohit? Just because the most obvious out has been disabled does not mean an ability is an autohit. Its called "wake the ******** up and use your brain"

Well, as I see it, Tacitus, he didn't sufficiently describe his "area." It could've still been the whole arena, but even then you typically give some leeway for reaction, I'd think. Dreslin assuming the "area" wasn't focused could naturally come from his lack of description. Why is Dres's dodge suddenly invalid? Like Darth said, it could've been a bubble. How can you generate a force so easily within someone blood/body, as in Dreslin's neck? There should be a hole.

Now if you tell me you made a nuclear explosion and it will spread all over the arena in less than a second, hell, at least you defined it for me. But I'd rather see a so-called undodgeable move made from smart tactics taking a few posts of setting up. It's just hard to get people to fess up to 'em most of the time.

Tacitus
Hiroki Garu Mitsu
Add in my agreement. That was total auto-hit.

Thats like me going: *I snap my fingers and you suddenly start to burn on the inside*

You do realize that if someone were to do that by using their brain (as a player) that it could not be an autohit, right? "I snap my fingers and the temperature in a sphere around your current location becomes a bajillion degrees" There, not an autohit. Well, it would be less n00by than that, but you get the idea.

*random grumbling*
I know, but you get the idea behind it. If you manage to start a fire inside of someone it's not an auto-hit, but the obvious result is one. Like with the psionics thing.

Yeah. Take my chara Ryon. He can make and control flames. Will I ever make other characters spontaneously combust? No. It's technically possible for Ryon, but all his fire will be projectile-based, flamethrower-esque, or it will generally have a source and a certain amount of travel time.

Cael, the reason its not well described is because its not a nuclear explosion, or a bubble, or anything else even remotely complex. It is EXACTLY what it says, right down the dictionary definition of the word.

=/ Its an opener, the only reason its remotely lethal is because the opponent can't fit his head around what's going on.

You'd think that when two people who are supposedly at the top of their game, and some of the bests in their fields, fight... You'd think that these kind's'a arguments wouldn't come up.

You'd think that...

Remember: magic and powers are always up to debate via pseudo-science. This isn't about pseudo-science, though, as it seems to be about writing, description, and phrasing, which is also always up to debate. xd

Nah, It's more when people know what they're talking about that they fight. Cause then they both try and be experts on thier subject and outsmart the other and it ends in arguement.

Toast, I predict where opponents will go and cover possible escapes all the damn time. If I attack from all angles, thats not an autohit because I haven't stated hitting, but obviously a dodge is just going to getcha hit.

Moo, that is exactly what Cole did. He attacked an area in space. Any psychic worth his salt should be able to duplicate that attack, hell, the one psion I have in this tournament should be able to, and he's not even a full fledged psychic, just a shitty little psion.

Hmm...new plan! XD Hey Dreslin, once you sort out this dilema I'mma have to make you do it all over again vs The Heart. XD Also, whats the plan in our fight? A round of edits? An edit for you changing your direction? What?

Ack, less than a day left until I win by default. I don't want to win like this. Agh. This actually really bites.

@Cole: Then I'll admit maybe I can't get my head around it, either. But here's the piece in question, word for word:

Cole Eastcott
As if that one word had been a signal, several dozen tons of psychic force surround Goku's head and press inwards.

((=P Pop?))

((Oh, and as psychic force, this is rather unseen. =P))

I dunno. Several dozen tons, surrounding, pressing inwards. It's given no time table, as in "happens in seconds." I think Dres has a decent counter. There is no dictionary definiton for psychic force. It's cognitive, and you don't know the exact proportions of his head. So what's the radius? Granted, I think he should've specifically stated he ducked, but if that wouldn't work, what would?

You have to admit, the italicized sentence is kinda shoddy. I added the OOC commentary because it does seem to point that you have more of a problem with Dres than his counter, and I think that's what this whole argument is really about.

Yes, he--lemme quote this:
Cole
As if that one word had been a signal, several dozen tons of psychic force surround Goku's head and press inwards.

So does this mean that it wrapped cleanly around Goku's head and went squish? That's how I took it, that's one of the meanings it could take.

The fact that many meanings can be drawn from a written phrase meant that it was not described thoroughly--meaning the picture wasn't clear. For all I know, he could've done a sphere of psychic force around Goku's head, with an opening like an inverted fishbowl at the bottom to where he could have ducked under, or maybe the psychic force was tracking--it followed Goku's movements!

There are too many maybes. That's my problem with the attack.

We can't edit the whole damn fight without Clash's permission. I sent you a PM on a possible solution to progress the fight. And if we get his permission to start over, other people will be wanting to start over cause we started over.

No, actually I meant the definition for "around"

=/

I suggest ya'll look it up. Its a two dimensional term.

I won't even bother any more, I'm sure the answer's been given away.

"Ducking" or more specifically, dropping downwards, saves "Goku"
