Sindeira Jinzouki Would you consider getting a Sega Genesis or SNES? biggrin I can recall 'sitting for a few of my neighbors and these so- called kids would royally kick my butt, with Sonic the Hedgehog and Tails. And has my inner- gamer aged a month since then? ..heck no! But I wouldn't purchase an older system, when there are no longer games being released. I happen to be nostalgic and wouldn't mind playing with friends, though. Its ok, if you do want some of the older games you could always go after the cheap method, softmod an Xbox and load roms into it or just off the PC, either work fine, though use a PC gamepad for the computer. I like to collect besides playing them, picked up this habit since the days of PS1, and the introduction of import games. Since those days I like to get my hands on my fave games, and some even from Japan.

Then you would get a circular flow rofl
And how could SNES possibly be better than Genesis? Not only does Genesis have the main line-up of the best platforming games out there, Sonic the Hedgehog, but also many other fast-paced platform jumpers, shoot'em ups, etc. What does SNES have? Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, and Super Mario World.
Not to mention that only Genesis had the two Jurassic Park side-scrollers and the 3rd person sequal game, while SNES only had the first and then the 3rd-person exclusive title which plopped a gamer into a park with no clear objective but to take the nearest path and then die by the Jaws of the T-Rex.
I've not many fond memories of the SNES, and I believe that SEGA would still be a console contender had it not tried to outdue Sony's Playstation by throwing out it's half-assed SEGA Dreamcast, whose only redeeming quality was Phantasy Star Online and Sonic Adventure 2.

I had fond memories of both the SNES and Genesis. Genesis came first then I got tired of us Genesis owners getting the short end of the stick with some quality of some ports so I got the SNES late into its life. PS1 came out later but for 1-2 years I enjoyed the games (Super Mario, Zelda 3, Castlevania 4, a better MK2, and a bunch of other games I managed to buy, rent, or perma-borrow rofl Later I got the PS1 for Tekken 2 and been a Sony fan ever since eventually getting a PS2 then the smaller one and selling the old fugly one. I mean I'd be open to the xbox 360 but it has a smaller Japanese support than Sony (it being a Japanese company) and the Red Ring of Death -_- So for my next system the PS3 I am waiting for a price drop since I very well know how Sony's mind works by now they've developed into this formula: 1. Release system at insane price 2. Gradually decrease price about 1-2 times per year. 3. Reach sane price after 2 years 4. Release newer smaller version like after 3-4th year thus making the people in the first 2 years feel bad about their purchase and re-buy their system. 5. Release new Sony system starting 1-4 over again for the next system 6. gradually decrease price of the generation in the list for about less than 200 bucks (I don't mean 199 but less than that) and gradually down to 99 bucks and stop production when people stop caring about system. So yeah I am going to enjoy the hell out of my PS2 till about 3 or 4, besides seriously the only game I would actually want right now from PS3 is Virtua Fighter 5, and Disgaea 3 surprised and Disgaea 3 hasn't come out yet -_-

*pours a vial of her elixir into a perfume bottle and threatens to spritz* I hate to disappoint, but blood- play doesn't do it for me.
And wth?! There's going to be a Disgaea 3, on the PS3? Oh, why must you torment me so, o' great, gaming gods?
I was waiting for a price- drop, too.. *cries*

I was choosing between Guilty Gear X2 or Disgaea 1 (which I just thought looked pretty cool) and WAS gonna go with Guilty Gear X2 except it was Gamestop's last copy which they keep the disk in a separate envelope behind the counter and the box is then manhandled by everyone browsing mad But I wasnt about to be stuck with such a manhandled game so I just went with Disgaea, thankfully I did, cause I've been a fan ever since and it went out of print shortly after, plus I ended up getting GGX2 eventually (well # Reload imported) whee @Hiei: Sleepy? surprised

Jinzouki Funny story actually I've become a fan by accident. I was choosing between Guilty Gear X2 or Disgaea 1 (which I just thought looked pretty cool) Ooh, yeah, there's a tough decision: A fighting series, with repetitive back- drops and the semblance of a storyline, as opposed to a role- playing game. Can you guess where my vote goes? And it's 2:23 PM, by the way.

*victory wiggle* Now today I am sleepy. Dunno if its actual sleepyness or meds ._. and have fun at the party xd Sindeira Jinzouki Funny story actually I've become a fan by accident. Can you guess where my vote goes? And it's 2:23 PM, by the way. Well I WAS wanting to get GGX2 as I had not played the PS1 version nor regular X on PS1. People were telling me such cool stuff about it but would've regreted it due to #Reload coming out on PS2 in Japan (and for Xbox over here), and recently also Accent Core recently for PS2. Just read there's now Accent Core Plus in Japan, that's not gonna make it here gonk even IF the update is kinda cool. Guilty Gear has degenerated into the Madden of fighting games with the many releases of XX/X2 with just adding very little junk rather than wait to come up with all these ideas and just release one majorly awesome game surprised

The developers want their money with as little, creative effort, as possibly conceivable. That's because creativity requires monetary support, thus losing the incentive on their behalf entirely.
Final Fantasy X is a good example. I own it, play it, and unlocked a nice chunk of the secrets, too. Then FF X-2 was released and lost my interest, upon reading about its dress spheres.
Weapons, boss battles, healing elixirs.. and dresses?
