...And this was the trouble she was talking about. Why were there so many soldiers and why were they after them, exactly? Well, she knew it's because they were spying... or they were going to if they weren't found first. But still, she thought this was too much.
It seemed like time stood still for a moment as both parties watched each other like a hawk, wondering what the other person was going to do next. It nearly scared her when Shiro spoke to the soldiers with his arms up. 'What are you thinking?' Suijin thought to herself, but then Shiro whispered to her. The tone of his voice was firm, strong, and slightly shaky, but it told her that he had a plan... and she didn't like it. Suijin's heart started to pound as she thought about it. He expected the girls to leave him there with all those soldiers! "Are you crazy?" she asked him quietly. All he said in return was the command to start running. She hesitated. She didn't want to leave him there but knew that she should run away, for the little girl's sake. Suijin nodded, tightly gripped Bryni's hand and started running away.
"Shiro!" Bryni called out to him with tears forming in her eyes, looking back as she ran with Suijin. "We can't leave him!"
"He'll be fine." Suijin said, hoping it'll be true. The two took off in the direction they came from and heard from behind them the cracking and tumbling of the stone wall Shiro took down. And then gunfire. With tears falling down her face, Bryni now realized what danger the three of them were in. The little girl wanted to resist Suijin and run back to get Shiro, but decided to work with the white-haired girl this time.
The two girls were stopped in their tracks by six soldiers blocking their way. Suijin pushed Bryni behind her to protect her and called for her guardian force to help. Aeolus, a GF in the shape of a man that glew with many colors, appeared above them all. Howling wind came to the GF like he was a magnet, silence, and then a strong wind came from the GF and knocked down the soldiers, the force making them unconscious.
Their path was clear now and Suijin grabbed Bryni's hand once more, then made their way on to a busy street. They could blend in better with the people here, but not so much this time since they were running and making the crowd move around them. Where are they running to? Suijin figured they should just get out of the city. Suddenly, she heard Bryni scream and she felt her arm being yanked and Bryni's hand slipping out of hers. Turning, she found that a soldier caught up to them and grabbed the little girl, and while distracted, was grabbed by a soldier herself. The two tried to fight the soldiers but it was no use. Suijin can only hope that Shiro was having better luck.

The bullets struck Shiro, through their power diminished by the Protect he'd activated they still hurt like hell and started to break his skin. The bullets pelted the wall behind him as he started to run, he was about to wreck some soldiers before going down. Knuckles drawn he simply charged in, getting low to the ground as they fired. There were a bunch of soldiers, more than he cared to be taking on but he had to admit this was rather glorious. Without hesitating he burst in with his fists and cracked one of the soldiers directly in the chest, knocking him back into another enemy while one pulled out a combat knife and swung at him. It struck Shiro in the shoulder, causing him to falter for a moment but was able to spin around and deliver a heel to his head. Several more guards charged in and as Shiro maneuvered around there blows he grabbed one's head and rolled over his back, flinging him over into another few soldiers. Feeling a heavy hit across the back of his head as the protect wore off, he started to collapse from the butt of a rifle hitting his skull. His vision started to go as he felt soldiers pile onto him, and as he struggled to get them off and struggled to stay conscious, he only hoped the girls were at least safe as everything went black.

Well, that was that. The three of them had come to the city to do something and end up in the mercy of the Galbadian army. This sucks. They didn't even get to eat, Suijin was sure Shiro was upset about that.
Just then, something caught Suijin's eyes. A few soldiers carrying a body through the street. Once they got closer, she could see that it was Shiro they were carrying... dirty, bruised, bloodied, and unconscious. The white-haired girl had to give everything she had not to scream out or cry, but the emotions were still expressed on her face. Bryni had been sobbing already, which didn't help any.
The soldiers and the captured marched through the streets, gaining much interest from the civilians around them. Suijin couldn't do anything but look at the ground, listening to clanking of armor, and Bryni's crying, and the whispers from the crowd. They were then taken through a gate and into a mansion to see President Deling. However, while Suijin and Shiro were thrown into the president's office, Bryni was taken elsewhere. Suijin could hear her calling out for them until she was too far away to hear. The couple were left alone on the floor of the office, and Suijin was able to look over Shiro.
"Oh, hyne... Shiro!" she exclaimed, finally letting out some tears. She looked over him, carefully running her hands over him to examine his wounds. She brought one hand to his mouth, 'He's still alive...' she sighed in relief. "You really took a beating, didn't you?" Suijin said as she ran her fingers through Shiro's white hair.
"You'll get a chance to heal him on your way to prison." said the president as he entered the room and closed the door behind him. He walked around the two, to his desk and leaned against it, folding his arms. "Mind telling me why exactly you came here to spy?"
Suijin went through her options. She could lie and try saying that they were just a family on vacation. It might not work, and it would take a long time just trying to get him to consider it. She looked down at Shiro. She didn't want to waste much time as he needed to be treated soon. "Where did you take Bryni?" Suijin commanded as she stood up.
"Ah, the little girl? Tell me why you're here first."
"We got a tip from someone that you're making destructive weapons in Esthar." Suijin said after a moment of silence. "We came to figure out if it's true and if it is, why."
The president nodded and pushed himself off the desk and began walking to the door. He slowly walked by Suijin as he answered her accusation. "Yes, that's true. With Galbadia, we've covered a lot of land so far. I'm planning to take more."
"That little girl that was with you. She was taken to Esthar with all the other girls. I'm sure you can guess why." the president answered with a grin as he pushed open the door, leaving the two to the soldiers. The soldiers grabbed Suijin and picked up Shiro, taking them to a vehicle that was waiting for them outside.
Suijin sat on the floor of the vehicle next to Shiro. She put his head to rest on her legs. She wasn't able to keep tears from falling as she began using cure spells to heal Shiro.

(( Giiiirls crying )) Shiro was unaware of what was going on, or even that he had been dragged around from one place to another. All he knew was that He was laying on a cold surface, then suddenly felt a bit warm. There was a warm pleasant sensation running through him, warming up his very core and making him smile as he took a deep breath and took in Suijin's scent. "...Are you alright? How's Bryni?" He asked as his eyes slowly opened, looking up at the white haired girl's teary eyes. "Hey now, don't waste your tears on a bum like me. I was just taking a nap is all." He said with a chuckle, coughing a little as he forced himself to sit up, still sore from the beating. He didn't remember getting hit that much, they probably beat on him some more after he went down. "Last time I try breaking their fists with my face." He said with a chuckle. He could tell they were moving, and not it was clear they were in vehicle. It looked like they all got caught in the end. Still, Bryni didn't seem to be around.

Suijin knew that Shiro was joking around, but she couldn't get rid of the image of his body being carried through the city. Her first thought then was that he was killed, and thinking of it again only made the tears come faster. She brought a hand to her mouth as she took a few seconds to just sob. She looked at Shiro, grateful that he was in front of her, but noticed he still needed healing for his shoulder. "Hold still." she said through tears. She hovered her hands over his shoulder as she cast cure spells until the wound nearly disappeared - it looked like her magic won't make it heal completely.
The girl then let her arms fall down as if they were limp. Her red eyes stared at the floor they sat on. "I'm sorry." she managed to say. She was sorry that Shiro and Bryni were brought into this mess, she felt that it was all her fault.
"They took Bryni..." Suijin started. Shiro should at least know what happened with her, "They took her to Esthar for the Sorceress..."

A shadow manuevered its way from the injured Shiro to the front of the vehicle. It then rose up the back of the driver's seat where two arms then protruded from and reached for the driver's head, quickly snapping his neck with a twist. The hands then shot down and slammed on the brake. The vehicle jolted to a stop. The sudden halt caused the female soldier who had lost herself in thought to turn in horror to her dead ally and a strange combatant. She was about to fire upon what she believed to be a monster, but it was too late. The arms had seized her ally's assault rifle and filled the woman with bullets. A forced stop and the sounds of gunfire were obviously suspicious and the soldier who was watching over the prisoners stood and began beating on the door.
Yami then pulled himself halfway out of the shadow and glanced around the driver's area. It seemed to be very similiar to the SeeD's personal carriers, just more spacious in the front however. Grinning, the man pushed down the button to speak over the vehicle's intercom. "Oh my. Passengers, it would seem our trip has been canceled. How dreadful!" Fits of giggling laughter could then be heard. "You're prolly wonder'n who this angelic voice that is gracing your very ears belongs to, aren't ya, Mr. Last-Remaining-Piece-of-s**t-Soldier-Man?"
The door to the front then opened and there stood Yami, still in the attire previously seen in, but with his hood down, revealing his face. "Sadly, you will never know the name of the godly being who ended your miserable life." Yami then caught hold of the soldier's face. "Blizzard!" The air around his hand became cold from the magic emitting from him. A single shard of ice formed and erupted into the soldier's skull. Yami then tossed him off to the side and sat down in the bench opposite of his friends with a grin. "Happy to see me?"

Shiro shuddered a bit as he felt the magic coursing through him as she healed his shoulder further, shaking it off when she stopped. "Heh heh, scars are cool." He said with a grin as he cracked his neck. He watched as Suijin's arms dropped, his grin fading as he took on a serious demeanor. He wrapped an arm around her and held her close, wiping away the tears on her eyes. He gently pressed his forehead to hers and just smiled. "Hey, it's ok. I should have come up with a better plan to be honest. It's not your fault. We know who took her and where she is right? So all we gotta do is get her back." He said simply. And right on que, a shadow burst out from his own and the next thing they knew the vehicle came to a sudden stop. Shiro help onto Suijin to keep them from bumping around to much as it all went down, gunfire following Yami popping out and taking out the final guard. "You didn't have to kill them you know. Though my sympathy is rather low for people who would kidnap a little kid. I thought I felt something weird on the boat, why didn't you say anything sooner?" It seemed they now had a way out of their imprisonment, which meant that they could go get their little friend back.

How was Shiro able to be so calm? Well, compared to this crying girl, he was calm. Maybe she was overreacting, but she couldn't help it. She appreciated her partner's warmth and sincerity. Then he mentioned being able to get Bryni back, and Suijin was about to tell him that they were headed for prison, and that it'd be hard or impossible to even break out. Except just then, there was a lot of noise and ruckus, then the vehicle stopped. A man appeared in front of the couple, killing off the soldier that was keeping an eye on them. It was Yami, someone from the Garden that Suijin had some interaction with, and she was glad to see him more than ever. It looked like Shiro knew him pretty well, too. With Yami's help, they were free now and they can go save Bryni. Ignoring the dead bodies of the soldiers Yami just took out, Suijin stood up, "We have to go to Esthar."

"What? No thank you, Yami. You're the greatest?" The man snickered softly to himself before standing and kicking open the back door. "It is easier on us with these soldiers dead. Can't have them ratting us out before we come up with a plan, can we?" He then grabbed the each of the dead and dragged them out of the vehicle one by one before shutting the back and returning to the seat. "Due to my... talents, I was ordered to head to Deling City to secure evidence of their suspicious activities and end the threat if possible. It was supposed to be done covertly so no blame could be directed back to the Garden. That doesn't seem too necesary anymore considering the President's plans." Yami shrugged nonchalantly and grinned as Suijin stated their next destination. " It seems so. I'll help you rescue the girl, but after that, I want you all to head straight back to the Garden. Leave the matter of Esther's 'questionable' manufacturing to me."

"Heh heh, thanks Yami, we'd have been in a real bind if you hadn't shown up." Shiro said with a grin as he punched the side of the vehicle to warm up while Yami explained his presence. "pfft, like hell! No way I'm missing out on the big action. Anyone who kidnaps a little girl is gonna have to answer to these fists of mine." Shiro said plainly as he banged his knuckles together. "Wishing I'd brought a staff too, we'll need to find you a weapon as well honey." He said looking at Suijin, getting excited about the adventure at hand. "We'll get Bryni back, and we'll make sure they regret the day they didn't overlook our presence here."

"Er...yeah, thanks." Suijin said shyly. She realized that thanking the man that saved them should have been the first thing she said.
She then nodded in agreement with Shiro. "It's not just about Bryni, though. There's a bigger scheme going on and you're not going to be able to handle it on your own." Suijin said. She really wished now that she had brought her staff and now thought that it was stupid she didn't bring it in the first place. She'll have to find one on the way to Esthar, and there's plenty of weapon shops on the way.
"It looks like the only way to Esthar is to drive to Timber and then take a train. Who wants to drive?" she asked the boys, knowing they were anxious for some action and would most likely take advantage of the vehicle's speed.
((Wikia says that the trains going through fisherman's horizon hasn't been used since the war started so i'm guessing they'll have to find that out later.))

"Guess there's no way to talk ya'll out of it." Yami let out a sigh as they refused, but he had expected as much. Those two could be very stubborn, especially Shiro. "Timber, eh? I'm sure I can get us there." He stood and made his way to the front of the vehicle, looking back with a mischevious grin. "So sorry Shiro. You don't get to drive the big, fast car." The door closed behind him and the vehicle began to move again.
((Sorry bout the delay and post suckage. Haven't been feeling well at all. :/ Now you two can be all coupley for awhile while I die from allergies. :C ))

Shiro simply nodded as he took a seat in the back with Suijin. "Heh heh, actually I don't know how to drive. You may get to drive the car this time but when the time comes to break down a door I so call it." He said with a laugh. "My sense of direction isn't so good, how far is Timber from here? When we get there we'll have to hit up a shop. It sucks buying a staff when we got perfectly good ones back home. Although getting some new knuckles with a little more bite may be a good idea. Ooo maybe some with claws and stuff!" He said with a gleam in his eye thinking about weapon shopping. He was a relatively simple man with simple, if not predictable, tastes. (that sucks, allergies are a pain in the a** I'd imagine.)

((okay. i'm going to do a little time-skip and i guess me and sir will post until yami is ready.))
Suijin sat on the bench with Shiro as they went over their options and Yami drove the vehicle towards Timber. "It should be a few hours until we get there, I think." Suijin replied, getting comfortable next to Shiro. The only thing to do at the moment is to get some rest. "Mhm..." she agreed to whatever he was saying, since he was getting excited about weapons, but it seems that with all the commotion earlier she was starting to feel exhausted and soon fell asleep.
Suijin later awoke to find that the vehicle had stopped. She wasn't sure how long she was asleep for but it seemed that the car ride went uninterrupted and that they've arrived at Timber. "Are you awake?" Suijin asked the white haired boy next to her. "I think we're at Timber." She got up and opened the door to the driver's seat, to see that Yami was also asleep. "Let's go find some weapons." Suijin said to Shiro after a shrug, thinking they should let Yami be for now. "Maybe get something to eat as well?"
Suijin hopped out of the vehicle and started stretching as she looked at the sky. It was well into the evening, maybe around nine. She could see some people wandering about the town but it was mostly quiet.

Shiro smiled as he watched Suijin fall asleep, soon following her lead and nodding off as well. By the time the car had come to a stop, he was dead asleep and dreaming about something or other, probably food seeing how his stomach growled and he had a silly grin on his face. "nn mmrbm..zzzz..my brownies.." He answered sleepily as she talked to him, leaning forward and hitting the cold floor of the vehicle when she had opened the door. "...why does my face hurt?" He crawled, or slid rather, out of the back, his hands touching the floor as he regained himself and did a hand stand before rolling back up onto his feet. "Sounds like a plan. Weapons first, in case we run into trouble again." The white haired boy scratched his head and yawned, smiling again when he looked at Suijin.
