"Show them we mean business Sapphire, Bite!" Mitsu directed pointing a finger at the Zigzagoon. Sapphire charged forwards, fangs bared, just like the Houndoom that she had Nightmare battle just a few minutes ago. Before the boy had a chance to counter or even throw out a comand Sapphire sunk his teeth into the Zigzagoon. "Thunderbolt!" he boy shouted. Zigzagoon's fur began to crackle with lightning, goldeen sparks begining to fly. "Retreat then Ember!" Mitsu directed, not wanting Sapphire to be struck by the attack. Sapphire let go of his grip and jumped backwards landing on his hind legs, gaining his balance for a split second before letting loose a barage of small embers. The attack collided with the Thunderbolt, the explosion rather close to the Zigzagoon. "Jump!" Mitsu shouted as the two attack met. The attack nicked Sapphire's legs but it wasn't enough to knock him out, the Zigzagoon, however, was not as fortunate. The boy growled before returning his Pokemon. "Looks like I win," she said recalling her Houndoom before walking past the boy and knocked on the gym leader's door. You better be there Norman.

Rin watched a few people wander around the Pokemon Center. "Yeah, I have a team of four," Rin said proudly turning back to face Miharu. "I have a Totodile, Butterfree, Dratini, and a Mawile. Are you planning on returning to Azalea after this?"

Z blushed as Summer walked away. He quickly shook his head and rushed to get down stairs to get his lazy sister. When Z got to the lower deck he saw that most of it's occupants had left. Z saw that his Lyn was sitting on a massage table getting massaged by multiple muscalar men. Z sighed and jogged over there. "Lyn! We have to go get our stuff together." Z said shooing away the masuses and poking Lyn in the back. "Just a minute. I was really tense and the massage was so good." Lyn said in a half dream state. Z groaned and continued to shake her until she fully woke up. "What time is it?" She asked grogily. "Time to go." Z said walking away from her and up the stairs to their rooms. "Aahh." She whined. She got off of the table and followed Z to their rooms. When Z entered his room he quickly got his bag, turned off the computer which he had left on after he left and cleaned up the room a bit. Z smiled when he saw he was done. He walked out of his room and shut the door with his backpack hanging off of one shoulder. He turned to see Lyn doing the same. They nodded to each other and walked to the ferry's exit.

"We have arived in at Vermillion's port. Please show your ticket's as you exit the ship. Thank you for traveling with us and have a great day!!" The overly chipper woman said over the loudspeaker. z reache dinto his pocket and took ut his ticket. He showed it to the worker in front of the door and he let Z pass. Lyn did the same and continued to follow slowly behind Z. "Wow." They said in unison as they got their first look at Vermillion city. It was beautiful. The ocean was glittering andto their left they could just barely see Lt. Surge's gym. "So awesome!!" Z said smiling. He had always wanted to meet Lt. Surge because he loved Raichu's but had never actually met one. "Hey Z! This must be your sister!" A familiar voice said from behind him. Z turned and saw Summer smiling behind him. The incessant blush he had whenever he was around summer returned. "Umm. Y-yeah." Z said stuttering slightly. "Summer this is my twin sister Lyn. Lyn this is my new friend Summer." Z said gesturing to each of them. "Nice to meet you." Summer said putting her hand out to be shaken. "Ditto." Lyn said lazily shaking her hand.

Kasiya frowned. Having a Pokemon of her own that knew Confuse Ray was enough to tell her what was about to happen. She only prayed that Hiro could keep his wits about him so that at the very least Seto could take down the opposing Grumpig. A little more certain after every passing moment that the Grumpig was indeed a Psychic type (and also forgetting that she carried with her a PokeDex), she finally ordered Seto to use his Shadow Ball, and for Hiro to try for a Flamethrower. Hiro, who had a slight speed advantage, mainly because he had more experience at the moment, shook his head wildly, catching a glimpse of the Persian next to him. He became panicked, and turned his flames on his own ally. Seto reacted fast, having readied himself for his own attack dodged nimbly to the left, resulting in a wildly aimed Shadow Ball that went off harmlessly into the environment. The feline Pokemon hissed angrily at his partner, trying to snap him back to his senses, but stood back as the mighty Arcanine was suddenly subject to a Psychic attack from the wide open Grumpig, and flung painfully backwards into the rocky ledges behind them.

"Oh that's right I forgot to ask you if Summer could travel with us to Saffron. Could she?" Z asked turning back to his sister. "Whatever." She said reaching into her bag and grabbing Amy's pokeball. She clicked the button twice and let Amy out. "I'm sorry I kept you in their so long but we are off the ship now so it is time to travel and we can walk together!" Lyn said giving Amy a hug. "Sur!" Amy said smiling and hugging Lyn back. "Ummm actually I was thinking that we could stay here and look around and maybe train a little." Z said hoping his sister wouldn't mind. "Sure . . . Wait what!? You take time off! Mr. Rush Rush Rush! Mr. I'm going to drag my sister along becasue I want to get their fast! Are you okay Z?" She said much to Z's embarresment in front of Summer. "Yes! I'm fine! I just thought this is our first time in Kanto so we should take in the scenery and we are going to the contest later so we should train to. Maybe even catch a few pokemon." Z said trying to hide his embarresment from Summer. "Okay if you say so." Lyn said. "You okay with it Summer?" Z asked turning to her while trying to hide his blush with all his might which ironically just made his face redder.

"As the gym leader of this town, I have a duty to not let that happen. The citizens of Vermilion look up to me, and I won't let them down!" Surge jammed a finger towards Mai, determination and anger flashing across his face. Flash barked sharply again, ready for the word to attack.

"I truly pity them, then," Mai said simply, shrugging her shoulders. "It's pretty laughable if you're this city's only hope." She shook her head, and grinned. "As I speak, my men are busy extracting exactly what you've strived to protect. You've failed, Surge. You've failed to guard the relic, just like you failed your children." A sadistic smirk spread broadly across her face. It was as though she'd wanted to say these things to him for years.

Surge said nothing, only took a step back and ordered Flash to attack with a Thunderbolt. Serenity saw it coming a mile away and jumped out of the way, countering with a Psybeam. Flash was hit, and struggled to get up. It was obvious which of the two was stronger. "You watch what you say to me," Surge bellowed, shaking all over with rage.

"Pathetic," Mai snapped, and waved her hand. The powerful Espeon glared past the Jolteon, her eyes shining with a sinister, red glow. Surge was engulfed by the red light and thrown to the side as though he were a rag doll. "You should have never come here," she told him, striding forward, her footsteps boots crunching the gravel beneath them. She stopped inches from his face, and sneered. Serenity continued to use her psychic powers to hold the large man down. "Just like you should have never left me and Mother." She screamed in absolute fury and anger, rearing back and kicking with all her might. The sadistic smile remained when she heard the sound of his nose breaking, and she didn't bat an eyelash at the fountain of blood that followed. "It's usually a shame to see the child surpass the parent. But in this case, I'm happy to." She kicked him again, this time in the chest as she yanked the silver lightning pendant from her neck and dropped it on the ground in front of him. "I'm finished with you, Surge." With that she walked back inside Diglett's Cave, not caring that Serenity had used another psychic blast to finish Flash in the same manner as she had the gym leader. An emotional mixture of anguish, hate and regret were apparent on Mai's face, but she returned to normal as she barked orders for her crew to finish the excavation and move out.

"Yes, I think I will," Miharu replied, her curiosity piqued. "I think I'll check out the sights first, though, and maybe capture a new Pokemon. I would like to capture a Pidgey or a Pidgeotto someday." She was silent for a moment before she had to ask. "What's a Mawile?" she asked, putting a finger to her chin. "I've never seen one before." Then again, she was sure that Tingle was a fairly uncommon Pokemon as well.

The fifteen-year old brunette couldn't help but send one last lingering look at her dear little Fallarbor Town, the one place she'd been raised up, the only place she really knew anything of. This would be the very first time that she had left home for real, to begin her own journey, to find herself, her Houndour's trust and growth, as well as whatever else the world had to offer. Mary-Anne suddenly felt very small, looking at the PokeNav in her careful hands, given to her that morning by her mother. Such a big region! And Hoenn was only one of three. . . Here she was, just a little beginner trainer with almost no experience whatsoever, tackling this seemingly enormous journey. Sure, she had read the books about this kinda thing, heard the stories, but doing was much different than simply reading or saying!

For a moment, she flash-backed to all that had occured so far on this day, the first day of her journey.

Her mother still was rather reluctant to even let her go, and once Mary-Anne insisted that she really was, the woman wouldn't stop reminding her to pack this, to bring that, to make sure she took care of herself, so on and so much. M.A. had began to feel the strain on her almost ever-lasting patience -- she loved her mother dearly, but if they didn't get a move on, they'd never leave! Or so she feared, at least. She did finally leave, though, after a hug from her distracted father (who had promised to give her a Dig TM, but had evidently forgotten and given it to some other trainer passing by. He too loved his daughter, but was rather absent-minded). The two parents did watch her leave, though, tearing up at the thought that their little baby was growing up all too fast.

Even so, M.A.'s nature didn't permit her to leave without saying good-bye to the town people, whom she'd known since she was just a wee little baby. Houndour, bad-tempered with all the fuss and waiting, was sulkily following her around, not answering a single hello from anyone -- but the townfolk knew what he had come from and his temperment, so they took his moodiness in stride cheerfully. M.A. was glad; a year ago, he wouldn't have followed her at all, much less acknowledged her. Last but certainly not least, she had visited her brother, who had just come out of the Super-rank Contest House victorious; that handsome Michael had grinned, wished her luck, entrusted her with a couple guides and tips as well as a big-brother bear hug. "Take care of her, won't you?" he had added to Houndour, squatting down and offering a hand. Houndour had thenlooked at him suspiciously at first, but didn't consent to do much more than look away. "Not yet, huh? Don't worry 'bout it, then," Michael had said, laughing. . . It was progress, at least. A year ago, Houndour would've bitten him, most definately.

And so, with Houndour impatiently leading the way, Mary-Anne left Fallarbor Town with a smile gracing her lips and a bounce in ever step, eager to find what awaited her, and hopeful of Houndour's progress. One day soon, she'd get him to open up to her, for sure!

Upon hearing the knock at his door, Norman, who was playing solitare on his pokenavi, though he would never admit it, jumped slightly and looked over at it befor getting up. Shutting his phone and sticking it in his pocket befor heading over he hoped whoever it was wouldn't ruin his gym like his last challanger had. Opening the door he gave the female trainer who was standing in front of the door a smile. "Hello, what can I do for you?" He asked even though he knew that there would be a gym battle by the end of the day.

"Um well," Rin muttered not quite sure how to describe Akira. Ding! "Ooh, perfect timing. It'll be a lot easier if I just show you," she said scratching the back of her head and giving her a rather sheepish grin. She walked up to the counter and thanked Nurse Joy before taking her Pokeballs and clipping them onto her belt, all but one. "C'mon out Akira!" Rin said gently throwing the Pokeball up. The rather large mouth on the side of Akira snapped before settling down. The Steel Pokemon folded her arm across her chest and looked at Miharu. "yeah, she's kinda like that," she said with another sheepish smile. Akria turned to Rin and shot her a death glare as if saying, "What did you say?!"

"So are you going on your pokemon journey Toph? It is a bit late in the day to start." He said as he took the package and set it down on one of his many lab table's befor turning to face the young girl, he had yet to notice that Toph was blind.

Shrugging, "I guess, I can't really tell." She said nonchallantly. "Anyway I made it to Viridian befor the store clerk there gave me this package for you and refused to sell me thing's until I had given it to you and you called him back."

Upon hearing that Prof. Oak sighed. "He really need's to stop doing that," He shook his head befor a coment in her statement caused him to pause. "What did you mean by 'I can't really tell'?" He asked curiosly.

A slightly amused grin came over Toph's face for a moment befor she lifted her hand up and lifted her dark bang's up to better show the blank eye's. "Im blind, that's why I didn't want to talk to you over video phone or in person. I was sure you wouldn't let me go and would tell my parent's what I was planning. I had Edge look up your number and dial for me." She said motioning to the proud Zangoose who stood a few feet away his long fluffy tail flicking slightly and his ears twitching at the mention of his name.

M.A. and Houndour passed through the ashen route they visited every weekend or so; Houndour had always like getting outside, biting the ash as it fell down. From time to time, he sometimes even sent a little ember up into the sky, singeing the already burnt ash. This time around, though, he seemed even more excited, prancing around eagerly and sometimes running back to push Mary-Anne along. She laughed when he did so, even if she sometimes stumbled and nearly fell -- they were getting closer, ever so slowly, she could feel it. The fact that he ran back often meant he wouldn't leave her; in the beginning, when Michael had proposed this journey, the major concern was that Houndour would suddenly run off. He had ran away once, when it was pouring out, and M.A.'s family had quite a time looking for him; he had just recovered from his sickly state that Michael had brought him back in, so it was a rather big deal.

However, as they passed a couple trainers who were sitting around that fine day, Mary-Anne had to decline any request to battle; Houndour, although he was capable of ember and other attacks, wouldn't do them on command for her just yet. One day, hopefully soon, he could. . . She really hoped for that. Besides that, from the looks of them, they weren't easy beginners like herself.

A random Spinda ran out of the grass, spinning dizzily around before them. M.A. took out the Pokedex that her brother had ordered specifically for her on her birthday. "It's a Spinda! Houndour, would you want to battle --" Before she could finish her sentence, the puppy had already began to chase the other. However, as it ran, it glanced back and barked, as if saying yes. "W-Well, then, ember!" Mary-Anne crossed her fingers. A small flame escaped Houndour's mouth, catching the Spinda by surprise; it must've been a lucky hit, for the attack seemed to have put some hefty damage on that Spinda -- yet, now that it was engaged, it would be more serious, M.A. was sure. Before Michael had gone with them on such outings, just in case they encountered some strong wild Pokemon. This particular Spinda, however, didn't look too tough. . . Perhaps Houndour really could do it.

"A battle for your badge would be lovely," Mitsu said with a slight smile. The last gym leaders she had encountered had been rather rude and snobby, or at least they appeared so. It was a nice change to have a seemingly polite gym leader to battle against. "Would you mind if we had a four on four battle?" she asked the leader already having in mind the four Pokemon she would use. I can tell you're going to have some fun with this battle Ebony. Mitsu smiled to herself at the thought, the Gengar hadn't seen action in quite a while.

The Spinda faltered, and Houndour chased close to it -- only to discover that a Faint Attack was waiting for him. With a yelp, he slid back. Uh-oh, it's a higher level than Houndour is. . . Faint Attack's at level twelve or something, isn't it? "Houndour, try an ember again!" He didn't listen, however, and chased after the Spinda again. The Spinda began to cry out in rage -- M.A. looked down at her Pokedex, and the attack listed that made sense was Uproar. "Watch out Houndour, here it comes!" she said, hoping that Houndour would heed her; he did, and dodged the attack, rallying with an ember.

That continued for a while, and M.A. could only cringe when Houndour was hit by Spinda's 'tantrum.' After a while, though, it seemed to pacify, and the attack must've been done. Houndour panted a while; he couldn't do ember much longer, no doubt; but M.A. knew that he could push in one more from that fierce look in his eyes. It was the first time she'd ever fought with him or seen him fight, but evidently, the puppy was used to fighting, and wouldn't give up to a silly-looking Spinda. Before M.A. could even pronounce the first syllable in 'ember,' though, Houndour took it upon himself to initiate the best of his efforts himself, giving the best attack he had and sending that Spinda dizzily to the floor.

"Good job, buddy," M.A. smiled, half-content. . . He had won, after all, but he still didn't always listen to her, which troubled her a tiny bit. Maybe she just wasn't a good enough trainer? No, Michael had told her not to think that way. That it'd be a long process. Houndour had trouble trusting anyone, and had come from some hardships, so she couldn't push him too much. She kneeled down to Houndour's height, offering a potion since he looked rather beat-up, but Houndour refused. Rather, he looked eager to continue on the journey, for just before them was the end of this particular route -- and the beginning of some green grass and real sunshine. One way or another, they had gotten further than Mary-Anne had thought.

"Well, according to this," M.A. said, holding her map, "a rest house should be up ahead. Let's try to get there before it gets dark, okay?"
