As they all turned to leave the mountain, a horde of Pokemon appeared before them. It was a group of various kinds of Ghost- and Psychic-types!
"Everyone fight one Pokemon and catch it if it's allowed at your rank!"

"A nice horde of Pokemon? Good, didn't want Poochyena to feel left out." Reaper said as he sent out his Poochyena when a Shuppet flew over to the two.

~Battle Start~

Poochyena attacked the Wild Shuppet with Sucker Punch, dealing moderate damage. Wild Shuppet attacked Poochyena with a Thunderbolt attack, dealing moderate damage. Shuppet continued the attack with another Thunderbolt, dealing the same amount of damage as before. Poochyena attacked Wild Shuppet with Payback, dealing a high amount of damage to it. Poochyena attacked once more with Sucker Punch, dealing just enough damage to faint the Shuppet and ending the battle. Reaper returned Poochyena to his Pokeball and met back up with the group.

~Battle End~

Cody turned to leave, excited to return home after a job well done. Maybe after this, he could get a good night's sleep. Eh, who was he kidding? Probably not, but it was always good to keep your hopes up. Cody looked to the sky, then over to his team and smiled. "What a great group of people to work with, criminals or not," he said to himself, making his way toward the exit. Just then, a Lampent appeared in front of him. It was the evolve form of the Litwick he had caught just the week before. If he could catch this, a Chandelure would be his in no time. With that mentality, he sent out Fraxure.

Fraxure started the battle off strong with a powerful Dragon Claw, his claws illuminating as he slashed at the ghost type who nimbly dodged, retaliating with a Shadow Ball of its own.
Fraxure was finally able to make contact with Dragon Claw, hurting Lampent badly, but not without a cost of his own. Lampent's ability had left Fraxure with serious burns that ate away at his health. Lampent fired another Shadow Ball that crashed into Fraxure hard, leaving him panting on the ground. The Dragon rose to his feet and blasted Lampent with a Dragonbreath, bringing it down to a critical level, but the ghost had a trick up its sleeve. It started to glow, seeming to swap its current state with Fraxure's to even the playing field a little. Lampent had used Pain Split to leave them with the same amount of energy. Fraxure's body was sapped once more by the burn, but the pokemon fought on, blasting Lampent once more with a Dragonbreath. Lampent came back a final time with a Fire Spin, creating a fiery vortex in front of its foe, but Fraxure dodged just in time. Cody used this opportunity to grab a Heal Ball from his bag and tossed it at the Lampent. The ball opened, encasing the ghost in a pinkish light, much brighter than the typical red of the pokeball, and dropped to the ground, shaking once. Twice. Three times. Ding. And with that, Lampent was captured. Cody congratulated the pokemon on a good battle as he picked up the pokeball and headed for home.

Allen took a few steps forward, honestly trying to make his way around the horde. But ended up squishing his face into the gelatinous mass of a Reuniclus' body. "Oh, pardon me." He tried to pass, but it used it's psychic powers to lift him and set him back. "Fine, let's get this over with. Lynda, Sucker Punch." He called up Banette from her ball. The little Ghostie swung back and forth, looking around for a moment before registering the Reuniclus before her. He chimed and swung her arm forward, it extended in a massive black fist to strike the Psychic type, knocking it down a peg or two. It swung it's arms in defiance and let loose a flurry of psychic waves that solidified and bashed into Lynda's little body, the Psyshock dishing out some massive damage. "Shadow Sneak!" Lynda nodded back to Allen, her shadow growing massivle and lunging for the foe, striking the Pokemon a time or two for some decent HP. Reuniclus quickly pulled together a Shadow Ball and blasted Lynda from the air, taking her down for the count. Allen grunted, pulling another ball from his belt, "Ubella, you're up again!" The Larvesta groaned as she was called on again, "One Bug Bite should do!" She nodded, running up and sinking her teeth into the gelatin, forcing the sensitive body close to the surface in a critical hit to bring it's HP down very low. The foe reeled back, taking hold of Ubella and tossing her away. It then conjured a bright light from it's eyes, revealing a glimpse of the future for only a moment. The Future sight would definitely take out Ubella if given the chance. "Alright..." He pulled an Ultra Ball from his bag and tossed it. It bounced from the gel and for a moment seemed like it wasn't going to take, but then opened and enveloped the Reuniclus in a bright red light. It hit the ground, and began wriggling.

.......Ding! Allen had caught the Reuniclus, the ball was whisked away in a quick flash of light, transported to his PC. Allen went back to the others.

One of the old ladies shakily walked up in front of Dimitri and called out for two pokemon to levitate out from behind two nearby tombstones to challenge him along with his pokemon to a double battle, the two levitating pokemon revealed themselves to be a beldum along with a shuppet.


"Why does it always have to be old relics? I wish it was a bikini babe or at least a cheerleader instead." Dimitri said in a disappointing tone before he detached a pokeball from one of the holsters on his belt and tossed it into the air, sending out his Growlithe. Shortly after, Shanks hopped off of Dimitri's shoulder and landed onto the ground next to Growlithe to assist her on the battlefield. "Go Growlithe! Show off your fiery power and use Over Heat!" Following her trainers command, Growlithe used overheat to attack both of the two opposing pokemon with one attack by exhaling a huge cloud of hot breath at both of them, dealing an intense amount of damage towards Beldum while dealing a great amount of damage towards Shuppet.


"Young men these days... always have their minds distracted with such nonsense... daydream all you want, because once I defeat you... where you will be sent afterwards will be a place of many nightmares... now show him what I mean Shuppet and use Trick Room!" Following it's trainers command, Shuppet got pushed back from the fiery damage that was dealt before it used trick room to create a strange area where only slower pokemon can move first for five turns. "Go Beldum! Now is your chance... strike while you still can and use Iron Head against Poochyena!" Following it's trainers command, Beldum let out a screeching whine before it used Iron Head to cover it's body in iron and flew at Shanks once the effect of the strange area allowed it to attack first, dealing a great amount of damage upon slamming into him.


"Geez! I thought you people were supposed to be jolly!" Dimitri shouted in a loud tone followed by a mixture of coughs. His eyes filled with determination and fear all at the same time once he had carefully heard the old lady's trash talking words. "Hang in there Shanks! Show off your ferocious side and use Crunch against Beldum!" Following his trainers command, Shanks let out a whine before he lunged at Beldum and used crunch to bite the iron ball pokemon with his sharp fangs, dealing more than enough damage to finish it off.


"Go Shuppet! Try your best to fight back and use Shadow Ball against Growlithe!" Following it's trainers command, Shuppet used shadow ball to hurl a shadowy sphere at Growlithe, dealing a neautral amount of damage.


"It's your time to shine Growlithe! Show off your intimidating side and use Crunch against Shuppet!" Following her trainers command, Growlithe let out a painful growl before she leaped out at the Shuppet and used crunch to bite the puppet pokemon with her sharp fangs, dealing a great amount of damage.


"Shake it off Shuppet and use Destiny Bond against Poochyena to bind him to you spiritually... Bwahahahah!" Following it's trainers command, Shuppet let out a painful ghostly yelp before it used destiny bond to link it's life to the life of Shanks, ensuring that when it faints that shanks will go down with it.


"Shanks... " Dimitri whispered in a concerned tone while Shanks growled in a ferocious way to ensure his trainer that everything would be all right. Following this, Dimitri nodded and pointed at Shuppet in an angered way. "Go Shanks! Let's not go down without a fight and use Foul Play to finish that sneaky pest off." Following his trainers command, Shanks used Foul Play to use his opponents strength against him in a critical attack, dealing more than enough damage to finish it off. Unfortunately, The effects of the destiny bond made Shanks faint along with it. Once she was out of usable pokemon, the old lady called her fallen pokemon back to their respective pokeballs before she disappeared into the shadows like a ghost. Following this, Dimitri took out a pokeball and pointed it at Shanks, watching as a red beam of light engulfed the wolf cub like pokemon to return him back to his pokeball. Once the battle was finally over, Dimitri walked over to his Growlithe and kneeled down in front of her to congratulate her. "You've fought well these past few months that we have spent together... even as a puppy you've never shown any sign of weakness, but I think that you deserve to become an even greater force to be reckoned with as a reward for your hard work... it's your choice... place your paw on the stone if you want to become something even greater or pass up this offer if your okay with your current self." Dimitri said seconds after he took a fire stone out from his bag, holding it out to his Growlithe. Once she gave the offer some thought, Growlithe immediately placed her paw on the center of the fire stone. Strangely, Growlithe's entire body began to glow in a flash of light before she suddenly evolved into a fearsome Arcanine which surprised her trainer. At last, Dimitri climbed into his newly obtained Arcanine's back. "Lets go find the others before we miss out on all of the fun.... now go Arcanine!" Following her trainers command, Arcanine ran off to help her trainer find the rest of the group.

Maddy woke up abruptly on the couch, drool running down the side of her face.
"Huh? How did I get here?"
She sat up and a rock tumbled off her chest and into her lap. She looked down at the mysterious fossil.
"A Jaw Fossil? Oh right, I found a horde of fossils on top of the mountain by a few of the graves. I wonder if they're all someone's dead Pokemon."
