Nikolai laid under the freezing rain, unmoving and barely breathing. He could hear inaudible mumbles from strong heart. He was disoriented and hurt. He could feel the warm blood being pumped from his wounds. He sent strong heart a mental message, 'Taje the pups to your den. The rain may rise and I don't want you stranded. Thank you for everything. I- I'm sorry.' His body discenerated into white petals and the wind carried them towards the sky. The rain began falling harder until it was a downpour. The she wolf's body dissolved into a nasty bubbling vat of dark blood. The wind began to ruffle the trees. The buttercups began to die and the field grew dark. Butterflies began to fall apart and the trees died. Their old den was a decaying mass of dying trees.

Strongheart saw Nikolai turn to petals and let out a howl, feeling that it was her fault he and the she wolf died. She knew she couldn't wallow in self-pity and ran to the den, then motioned for the pups and Buttercup to follow her. However, Buttercup wasn't awake and Strongheart lifted her onto her back, knowing if Buttercup were left behind she would more than likely die. Strongheart then started making her way to the back to the den, hoping that they would reach it before she, Buttercup and the pups got stranded.

 Blue stretches then swirms alittle having a bad feeling in her stomache."hmm..."hears the weather raging outside and she perks her ears up peaking outside wondering what is going on.

Foxpelt hears the storm pick up again and he starts to panic knowing Strongheart and Buttercup still aren't back yet. He then goes out of the den and starts trying to find their scents. When he pick up their scent, even though the rain had already washed most of it away he headed in the direction it lead. Foxpelt's fur was soaked and was sticking out all over his body and he was almost to the downed pine tree that Nikolai had told Strongheart to find before looking for the stream. He thought he heard faint howls from a pup, but he ignored thinking that it was just the wind whipping threw the trees. However, when he heard it again his legs started taking him in the direction of the sound. When he comes across a small cave only large enough for one wolf he pokes his head inside and sees a pile of dark brown fur, but it wasn't moving. He went in and nudged the wolf and saw that it was a she wolf, but was covered in what looked like claw marks from a wild cat. He nudged the she wolf again, but realized she was dead. He then saw a tiny pup that looked to be about two or three moons old. He didn't know how long the pup had been there, but he decided that it needed help and picked her up before he headed back to the den.
The pup yipped it protest of being picked up and then said in a little voice, "Who are you mister wolf? And what happened to my mommy?"
Foxpelt waited until he made it back to the den with the tiny pup in his mouth and then headed back to the healer's area. He set her down and said, "Your mommy.... Well she's.... uuuhhmmmm..." He didn't know what to say to the little pup and he was afraid to tell exactly what happened to her mother.
"She isn't ok is she? She's gone forever isn't she?" the pup said in a high voice.
Foxpelt looked at the pup and frowned knowing there would be no easy way to tell the pup she was right. "I'm sorry. What's your name little one?" He replied.
"I'm Lilly." She told him, pressing her little body against him.

She had fallen asleep again without her knowledge. The last thing she remembered was staring into a pair of dark green eyes. She sighed. Next time she saw Nikolai she would give him a piece of her mind.
Buttercup noticed that strongheart was carrying her and quickly got up and started walking next to her. She looked at her companions, she didn't see Nikolai.
"Strongheart, where is Nikolai? What have I missed?" She asked eagerly.

Strongheart stopped and then let Buttercup off her back and then said, "Nikolai died. It was my fault.... Just like.... Never mind..... I was told to take the pups with me to the den. I just hope Ren will accept them....." Strongheart then looked back at Ivory and Rayne.

"Strongheart, whatever happened was not our fault. If anything, Nikolai most likely knew what was going to happen anyways, at least he acted like it. Why else would he bring us to their haven? And to tell you the truth I think the mother wolf seemed a little off her rocker when I met her." buttercup said, trying to reassure Strongheart.
Just then, she remembered thunderbolt was waiting for her. She quickly sent a message to him.
"If you were watching thunderbolt, Nikolai and the mother wolf are dead. I don't know exactly what happened becasue I fell asleep again. Anyways, Strongheart and I are taking the pups back to the den. You can meet up with us or meet me at the Den....Thanks for looking out for me, and sorry for dragging you all the way out here to rescue me.....Forgive me?" buttercup talked softly into thunderbolt's mind, hoping he had observed what happened like she recommended.

"I guess that there's nothing I could've done to change what was going to happen. What I do know is that we should get going to the den. This storm is going to get worse. I can feel it." Strongheart said, as she ran in the direction of the den and looked back every now and again, making sure the pups were still following.

She sent a warning to thunderbolt.
"Another storm is coming, you better hurry. You don't want to get wet." Buttercup said. After thinking about what she said she laughed to herself, she sounded like a nagging mother.

Strongheart ran until she saw the den's entrance. She then picked up her pace and dashed into the den, straight to the healer's area. She skidded to a stop when she saw a small bundle of light brown fur pressed into Foxpelt's reddish pelt. "Foxpelt..... Where did that pup come from? It's not a pup from some other wolf you were with is it?"
"No. I swear she's not. Her mother was killed by some kind of wild cat. I found her and knew she needed help or she would've died out there." he replied to Strongheart.
Lilly looked around and saw Strongheart. Her eyes went wide as they pooled with tears. Then out of nowhere she ran over to Strongheart, pressing into her saying, "I knew you'd come back. That mean giant fox said you were dead."
"I'm not your mother little one. I know you want your mother back, but she isn't coming back and I'm really sorry." Strongheart said, however, she then laid down, wrapping herself around the sweet little pup.
"Even if you're not my mama can I still call you mama?" Lilly asked, then said, "I'm Lilly."
"Well Lilly, I guess you can call me mama. It'll probably take some getting used to, but I will." She replied nuzzling Lilly.

She sighed, looking at all the pups running around. she still wasn't sure how to tell Ren about the new additions to the pack. she looked around, suddenly aware that Ren wasn't in the Den. She panicked, running outside. She needed to warn her about the storm before it was too late.
As she was running, she noticed a fallen tree and stopped. She then noticed Ikuto and Domino, and the thing underneath the tree.
"Ren!!!" Buttercup ran to where she was buried. Domino and Ikuto had tried to free her, but they weren't strong enough. Buttercup looked at Ikuto, trying to figure out what to do. When she stared into Ikuto's eyes, she felt a strange sensation.
Out of nowhere, five spirit animals materialized, white and whispy. Two were wolves, one was a fox, one was a bear, and one was a buck. All five spirits went over to the log and pushed it over effortlessly. Buttercup stared in confusion.
Once the spirits retrieved Ren from underneath the fallen tree they dissipated into the air, leaving an awestruck audience in their wake. After a few seconds, buttercup snapped to attention and checked on Ren. Her breathing was heavy and labored, and it looked like a few of her ribs were cracked. Not having any levatitang powers, buttercup scooped Ren on her back and brought her safely to the den, Ikuto and Domino following closly behind her.
When she reached the Den, buttercup gently placed Ren near the healer's area for medical attention, and walked back to her spot.
She lay in her spot for a long time, deep in thought.

Foxpelt heard someone outside the healer's area and went out to check who it was. When he saw Ren, who was injured he gently scooped Ren up and then placed her down near Strongheart.
Strongheart saw Ren and then picked up Lilly, moving her over near Checkers. She then went to Ren and checked her over. Storngheart knew that Ren was hurt pretty badly and that she had to do something immediately. She checked Ren again and felt that a few ribs were broken and went right to the herb supply and started gathering things to help Ren. She turned back to Ren after getting some comfrey, nettle leaves, and some poppy seeds. She started to tend to Ren and said, "Ren, please don't you die on us. Everyone in the pack needs you....." Strongheart had a very worried expression on her face and continued to do everything to help her former mentor and alpha.

❣ Ren wakes up and looks around. Her vision is blurred and she can barely stand, but she gets up anyways. She looks at Strongheart not sure if it really is Strongheart and says, "What happened? Where did that storm come from?" Ikuto jumps up when he hears Ren and goes over to her. He goes to jump on her but then stops. He sits down and simply looks at her. ❣
