Doppler Effect
As an object moves away from the observer, any electromagnetic radiation, such as light, radio waves, microwaves, et cetera becomes lengthened. A object emitting light will become more red, because red has the longest wavelength.

(Worthless as in instruction of the sciences in America. The average secondary school science textbook has literally hundreds of critical errors. One textbook in particular that is still popular today had over 10,000 errors and the location at which it was supposedly published doesn't even exist. I bet there are dozens upon dozens of things that you think you know that you have been taught by a science class that is simply false. For example, how many states of matter are there?)
