Tolin" Yes. Just... hang on." Tolin's "grip" did not recede. Alfred was living a horrible, torturous existence as he was; his soul was half-gone, his body and mind were being destroyed and the fear must have been unbearable. Tolin was there as a physical and emotional anchor. Just as he had been before, when the Gardevoir had woken up so briefly. " You'll be fine. You're just... sick, now. We'll get you better as soon as we can." There was a way, though it was hard to say how much damage it would do. If they could get the blade back... they could draw out the rest themselves. When they restored Arceus, the only thing left inside would or should be Alfred... it would work. Right? " I'm not losing you, not like this. I promised that I would never let someone die like this. We'll heal you." A few, silent tears slipped down the Scyther's face against his will. He couldn't get emotional right now, but it was hard not to... " Just stay alive. If not for yourself, then for everyone that cares for you."

 Alfred
The Gardevoir said nothing immediately. His eyes scanned the room as though seeing it for the first time. It was square, white. Smelled of antiseptic and trepidation. Also: iron, rust. His eyes traveled from the metallic frame of the IV stand to the red-filled tube that disappeared into the bandages that his the needle in his arm. He was frightened. Utterly terrified. Dying, despite how poetic it would be at this point, did not appease him. He'd died a martyr's death once, he'd not do it again. Not if he could help it. "Okay..." He replied, head lowering to his chest. "...okay." Everything would be fine. Just fine. It would all work out. Optimism, optimism- His lungs suddenly seized: it felt like barbed claws splitting his ribs, and he hunched over under the wave of agony that fell over him. Once more heavy, crimson torrents of blood escape him and he stopped trying to stop it in favor of wrapping his arms around his chest. Usually the fits passed quite quickly, no more than a few minutes between the start and exhausting end, but when more time passed between the initial start Alfred gave a sputtering gasp for air, but could not inhale for the steady flow of blood blocked access. His heart thudded in terror and both eyes widened in a wild panic. Through tortured blackness he remembered; fire, smoke smothering, searing pain... The blackness obscurred everything else and he tilted his chin upward as his eyes rolled to the back of his head before collapsing back onto the bed.

TolinTolin shifted out of the hug, which truth be told was awkward as hell for him (He had never given a hug before, Scyther society was not big on it) and looked Alfred straight in the eye with the best smile he could manage. " Good man. We'll get you better. I don't intend for anything less than total victory. We'll get you back together." Total victory meant killing all the elite, returning both the gods and all the pendants and then finding a way to restore both Alfred's soul and his body. There would be death, but it would not be his and it certainly would not be Alfred's. The fear that Alfred felt was matched just as quickly by Tolin. The Scyther bolted for the door and shouted out, this time with much more urgency. " We need a doctor in here! Someone get Lloyd!" He quickly rushed back to Alfred's side, trying to coach him through with whatever quiet words he could, though none of them would reach the Gardevoir who was far too busy choking. There was a million things he could do, but none of them seemed apparent or obvious at the time. All of them seemed risky. Would it be bad if he laid back? Would turning him over help so the blood could escape? Or would that make it worse? Not knowing made it awful.

  Alfred---Cattius
"Coming through!"A purple feline with an oddly shaped hat, very reminisce of a Mismagius, darted into the room at the cry for assistance. Ignoring Tolin entirely, the Delcatty leaped upward onto the bed to see what was the exact problem. She quickly recieved a splatter of blood to the face for her troubles as the Gardevoir cutched his chest and practically seizured in a choking fit. "Oh dear-" The cat dashed across the room, probbing the cabinets for what she was searching for as she'd already deduced the problem in a single glance. "Pneumothorax..." She muttered, talking to herself. "Page 437, Increase the re-absorption of air in the lung cavity with oxygen and observe the patient. Take additional chest radiographs as needed..." Prattling on she returned back onto the bed with a coil of clear tubing and a single, sharp ended cylindrical piece. Her gaze dropped to her claws and she unsheathed her claws and shook her head in dismay. Those wouldn't do. Not long enough. " Insert a chest tube to treat a trauma patient with a simple pneumothorax because these cases can rapidly become a tension pneumothorax when positive pressure is applied...insert...insert..." Knife, sharp, something-something-AH HA! Tolin's presence was quick acknowleged and the feline examined his scythes in approval. "Borrowing." She meowed, reaching out and hooking a paw around his arm to drag that bladed edge towards her and then place both paws over it, pressing down without warning to stab the Gardevoir in the chest, or rather off to the right of the center of his chest. The cat 'returned' Tolin's blade to him and replaced it with the sharp-ended cylinder. After a few moments of adjusting it lit up with bright red blood that began to pulse from it like a fountain and she capped it with the rest of the tubing before dropping the end to the bucket on the floor. Alfred inhaled sharply, taking a rasping breath after those painstaking minutes of panic. "And now we can do this...." The Delcatty purred, stepping forward to the side table to retrieve the oxygen mask hanging there and placed it securely back around the Gardevoir's face. Alfred's body relaxed, tension gone. Air was now. Breathing was nice... "Holy Miltanks...that was heart pounding..." The bizarre Delcatty commented, leaping back off the bed to the floor and wiping her face with a paw. She turned both dark eyes upward at the Scyther and gave a slight smile. "Your Tolin, right? Good thing you were here. I'm Cattius, Cat for short. I was transferred here from another hospital a few days ago. You guys get into trouble a lot, don't you? I've seen your medical records. Well, I've seen everyones medical records, but yours are a lot more detailed~"

TolinTolin took a step back, letting the doctor set to work immediately. He didn't recognize her, but, considering the clearly medical terminology she was using, she was better equipped to handle the situation. At least better equipped than he was, with his degree of "killing things". He could diagnose all sorts of physical injuries and dress any sort of wound, but when it came to stuff like this he was clueless. The stress of it all didn't exactly help. Having your friend dying beside you and also leading a war against god kind of did that to you. All the same, though, he still resisted her efforts to pull his scythe down. Stabbing the lung didn't exactly seem to solve the problem of the lung is injured in any conceivable way. But, all the same, she was a doctor... probably... hopefully not some kind of murderer... Well, if he didn't do it, Alfred was probably dead regardless. So, Tolin leaned over slightly and let the Delcatty take control of his arm. The blade sunk in deeply, puncturing the skin and slicing through the flesh easily. His blades were his pride and his ability, so they were always kept perfectly sharp. A psychic edge would have been more definite, but focusing on something like that was the last thing on his mind. He quickly and smoothly pulled the scythe out the moment it was let go of and watched the Delcatty set to work with a growing sense of nervousness that had replaced his panic. When the blood began to pour out and Alfred relaxed, he breathed a sigh of relief. " Thank you for that, Cat." Tolin took a few steps back and sunk into the chair, relieved that Alfred was resting for the time being. " We've been in more than a few times. It's a part of the business. I think Lloyd threatened to kill me once if I ever ended up back here, but that's another story." Though, now that he thought of other stories... " ...You might want to clean the wound out. I killed someone a few minutes before I got here, so I'm not sure how clean my scythes are." If Alfred got an infection in his lungs, he would end up dead even if they did manage to deal with his rampant immune system.

  Alfred---Cattius
"No problem, although that was a lot more stesssful than the book makes it out to be." The Delcatty gave a low, meowing sigh before rubbing a paw franically at her face. Ah, blood. Blood was so hard to wash out of fur. Nimbly she leaped back onto the bed to be more at eye level with the Scyther, the 'killed someone' comment made her somewhat uneasy. Especially considering she'd held those scythes inches from her own face. "I may have made it worse in the long run though. Another injury to patch up later. Truth be told, he hasn't had it repaired yet because the other doctors are worried he wouldn't survive the procedure." Surgery was tricky business in itself, toss in a vital organ and matters worsen considerably. Ah, but this probably wasn't the best conversation to be having with the already panicked Scyther so she chose to change the subject. "Lloyd's a bit of a jerk, in my opinion. Guy rubs ones fur the wrong way so you'd do best to call me or someone else next time..." If there was a next time considering they were moving the Gardevoir. The Mismagius mixed feline trotted to the other side table to sort through the bottles lined up there. "I have the paperwork for the transfer set up..." Lloyd had, with a certain Espeon supervising, ordered her to pull them up as needed. "Guildmaster Solaris has already signed and approved the move and equipment rental. All that's left is a signature from guardian or family member and one from the owner of the residence he's being move to. I'll just...go get those....in one moment..." Her last words prattled on in distraction as she quickly dumped the contents of one small bottle around the chest tube and proceeded to bind it in place with surgical tape. "...that should hold for the time. Honestly, half the Pokemon working here are afraid of their own shadows...I may need a new job before I claw someones eyes out..." Grabbing another bottle she grabbed Tolin's scythes again and dumped it over them as well. She clearly felt the need to disenfect what she viewed as 'important emergency surgical equipment'. Dropping from the bed she trotted to the opposite side of the room and disappeared through the wall in a ghostly manner. Cat stepped through moments later with a vanilla envelope between her teeth that had apparently become as intangible as she had to pass through the solid surface. She jumped back onto the bed and flipped it open, pawing through the paperwork. "Approval of transfer, relocation of equipment: IV plus supplies, B- Blood transfusions, respirator, oxygen tank...etc..." She pushed those papers to the side near Tolin if he wanted to look through them. "And this is a copy of the transfer, which needs a guardian, spouse, next of kin...family or some form signature. The one on the bottom is for Guildmaster Pluto if he agrees to the move. He can just send that in later once everything is set up...we usually get patient signatures as well, but..." She glanced over to Alfred who had clearly dozed off and clicked her tongue. "...we can just ignore that this time. Circumstances and all. I'd suggest waking him before the actual move. Nothing freaks one out more than falling asleep one place and waking up somewhere else..." She left the two signature needed pieces of paper out but quickly brushed the rest back into the folder and closed it. Reaching for the small black bag she'd brought back with her she removed what looked to be a walkie talkie of sorts, fixed upon a thick black string to be worn about the neck. A similar one already swung from hers. "I'm on call today, you see. Not really suppose to be working, but I get bored easily and decided to come visit quickly before running some errands. If you need anything and don't wish to speak to Lloyd, who can blame you, then give me a call. I can get here quite quickly." Leaving the communication device on the folder she leaped off the bed and then straight through the floor and out of sight.

TolinTolin watched idly as the Delcatty wandered around the room with a distinct purpose, her mouth never stopping for more than a moment. Her actions and words, however, carried little importance to him until she got to the signatures. "Guardian, spouse, next of kin, family... or some form of". Tolin was fairly sure that he didn't fit within any of those categories legally, which meant he would have to get someone related to Alfred to sign it. The list was awfully short and was full of people likely to kill themselves or others if he actually told them what had happened. Though... family... just how far did that go? Cat hadn't been very specific on the nature of how "family" was defined. If it went far enough, there was exactly one person he could ask who wouldn't freak out and mess everything up. It was kind of cheating, but finding him wouldn't be all that hard. He had a convenient "tracker" sitting somewhere in the hospital, after all. All he had to do was go find her... wouldn't take more than a minute. Liena and Mercutio's relationship was not the most subtle one. At the very least, she would have a good idea as to where he could look.

   Alfred---Cattius---Liena
The Delcatty's exit filled the room with silence. She was generally a chatty feline and he constant talking occured even in moments were silence would be preferred. Needless to say she was not permitted in certain areas of the hospital less she upset sleeping patients. Moments later it became clear she hadn't left entirely yet. "Hey, can you swap days with me tomorrow?"Her musical voice asked, just outside the hall. "Tomorrow? Sure. I don't see why not." "Thanks Liena, you're a pal!"The long-haired Gardevoir muttered something obscene, most probably because cat was no longer around to hear it. [SUBTLE SHAWN! THAT WAS SUBTLE!]

Tolin" ...That was oddly convenient." Sometimes fate just seemed to smile on him, although that was definitely less often as opposed to more often. Though, one might say the fact that he, the guilds, Alfred, and just about anyone and everyone he knew being alive was an amazing stroke of luck. Given what they were fighting against, it was a miracle they hadn't been stomped out of existence. Well, whatever. It didn't matter anyways. Tolin quickly slipped the collection of sheets into his bag and stepped just outside of the room. Liena wasn't far away or especially hard to find. It was all rather convenient, in fact. " Liena. Would you happen to know where Mercutio is at the moment? It's important." The Scyther walked towards her with a sense of purpose and was quick to get to the point.

  Alfred---Liena
"Annoying little furba-AH!" The sound of footsteps and accompanying voice cut her from her malicious thoughts and back into reality. She turned with a venomous glare, but it faded upon recognizing Tolin. She'd never met him personally, but most all the hospital staff was familiar with the suicidal Scyther and she'd seen his name on enough documents as it were. "Mercy?" She questioned, but quickly decided she didn't want to know. "He meditates in the Rocky Plains usually, but I'm getting off work soon and he usually shows up to walk me home..." Liena explained with a nervous wringing of her hands. She wondered what the Scyther wanted with Mercutio. There were not many who actually...liked him...as it were. After that Heatran incident and all. "Could I ask what it's about? I could let him know to hurry here now if it's important..." For his own sake she kept a psychic link open as Mercy was known to panic over her safety at random intervals. It would have been cute if it weren't so damn annoying.

TolinTolin took little notice of the Gardevoir's defensive posture and worried tone, instead carefully considering what to say. To hurry or not to hurry... how much to explain... Well, from what he knew, Liena had a fairly good head on her shoulders. But, then again, people like that usually did the "right thing", which in this case was the "very bad thing" that would probably "kill both of them". So, vague would be better! " I need his consent for something; it's important. A few minutes isn't an issue... but the sooner the better. Would you mind asking him to come in early?" There, it sounded urgent, yet at the same time it sounded distinctly private so hopefully she would keep herself out of it. God forbid Lucinda get told while the transfer was happening. Alfred would probably die from the sudden influx of stress.

  Alfred---Liena
Liena did not seem convinced, her eyes narrowed somewhat but seconds later she'd closed them in thought before blinking them back open. "He's on his way." And she would, naturally, be waiting here with Tolin as well until the Gallade arrived. Liena worked in pediatrics, what occured elsewhere was none of her business or concern, but if Mercy was pulled into then it became her concern. That idiot Gallade couldn't be left alone with sharp things or shiny buttons for long. In her humble opinion anyways...

MercutioIt wasn't long before Mercy teleported into the area, a few feet away from Liena. His sunglasses were pulled up over his head. He had no clue if he was going to teleport into some random b***h-slap, and he didn't want his glasses broken. "You called...?" He asked, determining there was no danger and pulling his sunglasses back down over his eyes. It was a good thing he often wore them, the green in his eyes was so bright it could blind someone. "They didn't let you off your shift early or something, did they?"

Tolin" I'm afraid not." Tolin noted the odd behavior with his sunglasses (it seemed strange to take them off outside, yet remove them once inside) but it didn't really matter in the long run. " I called for you, Mercutio. Would you mind coming with me?" No introduction was necessary, considering everyone seemed to know his name, rank and actions. It was nice when it came to ordering people around, but he had stopped going to restaurants because of it. Though, Lia was an excellent cook. Provided Mercutio did not take some sort of affront to the request, Tolin would lead him back to Alfred's room and sit down in the chair while "Mercy" took in the situation.

  Alfred---Liena
"They never let me off early lately..." Liena said out loud though to no one in particular, her arms were folded in a defensive manner and she would follow Mercy if he went along with Tolin. If he didn't, well...she'd follow anyways. Curiousity and all that. The Gardevoir placed a hand on the Gallade's shoulder to push him forward less he hesitate. "Knowing this Scyther it's probably something involving the world ending or all of us spontaneously combusting for no reason..."Liena would mutter with some contempt.
