Horses are cool like that. To be honest, I'm surprised she didn't dump Summer and take off back to the barn.))

Xavier didn't speak for a while, wondering and pondering. In fact, when he did choose to speak a bit later he still felt jumbled and extremely irritated.
Yes, 'you guys.' You were with those two chicks, are you such an idiot that you forgot or something? After a short pause, he continued. You and your sister, and then that tiny girl.
In referring to Kahlilia, Xavier brought up one of his hands and brought it up to his chest as to show how small she was. To him, at least. God, she reminded him of a weak lamb or something. How the hell was she able to get on a horse, did she have to have a ladder?
Now he was getting angrier. He wondered when he would ever calm down, knowing that today he'd been unusually tense and irritable. Stepping forward as a threat, he thought up something to say.
There weren't many words. Finally, there was just that blank that Xavier was fearing. No words meant switching from verbal to physical.
And so that was what he did.
With a quick look at the door to make sure Esmeralda had no plans to suddenly escape, he emitted a low noise similiar to a primal growl and jumped on the other man in an attempt to tackle him.

Roman's eyes narrowed briefly. 'That tiny girl' had to be Kahlilia. If Xavier went after her, the boy was in for a world of hurt. "Well, whatever," he said patiently. "The point is that no, neither I nor Ez nor 'that tiny girl', as far as I know, have been near your room." He watched Xavier shift from the verbal with a casual, almost apathetic expression. When the other boy went after him, Roman sidestepped - Xavier's attempt to tackle him had been underplanned, and he probably would have missed anyway.
Unfortunately, at that particular moment Esmeralda opened the door. Her eyes were still overbright from crying, but she looked calmer now. "Are you ever going to come back--?" The force of Xavier's leap sent him into her, and she stumbled back. Roman's eyes flashed with a sudden anger, and he stepped inside to get between Xavier and Esmeralda.
The girl, shaking her hair back, took in the situation at a glance and lifted a brow gracefully. "Oh. I'm sorry, am I interrupting the testosterone rally?"

Chris strode down the hall just then and looked at the scene before him. "Listen guys can you save the s**t fighting for later. I've looked all over for Summer I can't find her. Her horse is gone and the barn is empty for the way the ground is torn up she flew out of the barn at a gallop." Chris had a worried look on his face as he talked fast. "Who was the last person to see Summer? She must have been really upset to go into a storm this bad."

Xavier was in fact planning on going after all three of them, including Kahlilia. He wasn't aware that if he messed with these two girls in any way he would be ... well, dead meat. Right now, he just wanted to fight and win. Typical primal response, or so he was thinking right now.
Growling deeply when he realized he had bumped right into Esmeralda, he backed off and glowered. Had it not been for her older brother, he may have attacked the girl as well. Yes, it was true she'd tried to kill him a few minutes ago. Now, maybe it was a sort of payback thing. Obviously, he was still forgetting his 'debt' to this girl.
What the hell -
He was going to say something very rude and probably innaproriate to them when suddenly Chris joined them. Looking over and realizing how scared he was, Xavier muttered a curse under his breath and shook his head.
Look, He began, obviously still fuming. She got in a catfight with her - at this he nodded in Esmeralda's direction - And it was probably that.
Obviously, he was leaving out the part where he had gotten Summer to think he was cheating on her, and the fact that he had gone in earlier to talk to Esmeralda.
Last I saw her, she was acting really nervous and being really paranoid about God knows what.
Hoping his explaination was acceptable, Xavier looked blankly at Chris.

Esmeralda frowned, glancing in Chris's direction. "Wait. Summer's missing?" Despite her fury with the girl and her boyfriend, she didn't actually want anything bad to happen to Summer...well, okay, that was a lie. Yes, she did. She wanted Summer to hurt because Summer had hurt her, humiliated her, set her up. But she didn't want it to be permanent. Not like what had happened to Dev. Getting lost in a storm could end up being very damn permanent, especially if she'd been dumb enough to take a high-strung horse with her. For a moment, her lips parted and she looked like she was about to offer to help find her. But then her eyes darkened and her hands crossed briefly over her abdomen. There were those who depended on her more. She could not foolishly risk going out after a silly girl in a storm.
So instead, she shrugged. "You can't go out after her now," she said flatly, knowing how heartless it would sound to anyone who didn't know why she couldn't go herself. "Then we'll just have two people to look for instead of one. She'll find shelter, and Shannon will send people after her once the storm clears." Her dark eyes locking briefly on Xavier, she said, "If you feel the desperate need to go search for her in a storm, I would advise taking a very calm horse and listening for some whinnying." That said, she brushed back her hair - her usual wild gypsy curls were now very wet, but somehow even less under control - and went back inside.

(More drama time hehehe lol I'm so in an evilly mood right now smile )
Chris looked from one to the other finally he lost his temper with the both of them, "Look here, my sister is missing which means she could be hurt in that storm or worse dead for all I know." Chris's voice broke on the last part he couldn't go out after her himself for his arm was still broken but tha woudn't stop him for trying even if he got killed for it. "I can't go out there with only one arm to search for her without some help and she's stubborn she may try to find her way back here instead of going for shelter. So what if she was nervous Xavier I think you had something to do with this so stay the hell away from my sister." Chris said the last part in anger. "If you won't go look for her or care enough to go look for her then ******** you as for the manure in your room I did all of it so take out your temper on me, and if you expect me to ever let you near Summer again with any part of your body you'll help me search for her." With that he stormed off toward the barn not waiting for any one. Summer stood out in the rain not sure what to do. Her horse was really nervous now. Summer climbed back onto Shadow's back and turned the horse in the direction she thought would be the ranch house. She just wanted to get back to make up with Es and with Xavier. She know she was being stupid but she couldn't help it. Her emotions where driving her now and nothing else could pentrate her brain. She set Shadow at a walk and talked to the horse in her most soothing voice which seemed to work for a bit. Shadow calmed down somewhat but not enough to keep form laying her ears back against her head. "Easy Shadow that a girl, we'll be home soon then you can have all the hay you can eat plus extra grains."

Xavier, surprisingly, retreated completely when he saw Chris lose his temper. Although it was probably stupid, his first thought was What the hell? and then God damn, what a mess.
He had not reacted visibly when Chris told him the truth about the manure, but inside he swore that it was some sort of lie. Once Chris had stormed off, he sent a warning glare to both Roman and Esmeralda, then left as well. It was mostly an aimless journey, walking first to the front of the barn and then deciding not to. Then it was to Summer's room, which he didn't want to go in at all now. No way in hell was he going in the older room. After thinking for a bit, he was off to the hayloft.
It was a spot high up where he had made love to Summer. A spot where he now saw a mother cat and an estimated five kittens. Not very old, less than a month. Close to six weeks, maybe? It was too hard to tell.
And so, in trying to guess the age, he fell asleep.
Maybe sleeping it off would calm everyone down. Yes, maybe it could calm everybody down ...

When Chris got to the barn he stalked into Thunder's stall and just sat in one of the corner's trying to control his temper and not storm out into the storm after his sister which he knew was a total waste of time. He hadn't really meant what he'd said to Xavier about not staying away from his sister he was just worried about her and angry that no one seemed to want to do anything about it. He didn't hear the horse the had come into the barn.
Summer had fallen asleep in the saddle which wasn't very smart. Shadow was calm now and started to head home or the way her instints where telling her to go. Shadow saw the ranch house in the distance and whinned loudly. Summer jerked awake at that moment but couldn't control the reins for she was shaking to badly from being cold and wet. She had Shadow gallop into the barn. She put her away and then decided to get warm in the barn seeing as how she didn't have the strength to do much else. She climbed up to the hayloft and saw Xavier there. She was to cold to care how mad he was or how badly her feelings where hurt at the moment. She crawled over to Xavier's side and curled up against him and feel asleep while still shivering from being cold and wet.

Xavier woke up when he heard someone climbing the ladder going to the hayloft. Sitting up and seeing Summer, he at first tensed up. She was wet and looking undescribable. He didn't say anything to her, but just relaxed again and put his arm over her shoulder when she curled up next to him.
When he did speak, it was right before he fell asleep again. Sometimes people acted drunk when they were sleepy, but there was just that knowing that he was being serious. He had known this for a long time now.
I love you, Summer.

Summer smiled in her sleep and snuggled up closer to Xavier. She didn't really move all that much since she was becoming warm just sleeping beside him. When she quit moving she smiled and mumbled to him, "I love you to, Xavier. Don't ever leave me."
