Though he hasn't fired the weapon yet my post took pre-emptive meassures against it and went to great lengths to explain just what he should expect should he fire it.

He used a railgun that fired a projectile at 250 miles per second, or 403,000 meters per second. You achieve escape vellocity at 11,000 meters per second.

Rah, what?

I totally need to like...find a link.

I had a link which was about the Military/Navy testing a rail-gun thing. It had a much more realistic speed and rate of fire.

I'll go grab it, lolzkay.

Darn internet and it's slowness.

Then sign up and lie about your age, I see no reason to be 18 or older, more like its making me laugh.

Oh your fighting Thomas? This should be interesting, no offense I know him well >.>;;

Most railguns are more standard in their velocities when compared to standard munitions. My own gauss carbine fires an explosive shell at mach 3 speeds, or about 4,000 meters per second. Now that may be a lot, but the size of my shell has about equal or less mass to most standard pistol rounds. That and because of the design of the weapon, the magnets pulling the bullet foward instead of pushing it, helps to reduce the stress of recoil. But due to heat friction the weapon also needs a cooling system for which after used up the gasses are vented to also help compensate for recoil.

But the worse my opponent thought he would deal with if he fired would be going deaf and his ears bleeding.

I killed Thomas once, with Gammu's gauss shotgun. I remeber when Fenrir as Gamma and I dropped his body off at some bar in commerce. That was a fun time.

Howdy, folks. Got a question for any of Binatica's opponents (preferably that got beat). If you used an attack that had a pretty good chance of working on her character, did you get a bitchfest at why it wouldn't work before she actually posted?

*ish asking for future reference*

"The electromagnetic railgun’s projectiles will cover 290 miles in six minutes—initially traveling 8,200 feet per second and hitting their target at 5,000 feet per second." - http://www.popsci.com/popsci/technology/generaltechnology/64669aa138b84010vgnvcm1000004eecbccdrcrd.html

THERE. R4wr. Feed that to your enemy. That's a GIANT ONE OMFGO, with like current technology. I'd like to see us beat that EVER in a handheld device.

Unless his isn't handheld...It still shouldn't be going 250 MPS. That's stupid.

"I killed Thomas once, with Gammu's gauss shotgun. I remeber when Fenrir as Gamma and I dropped his body off at some bar in commerce. That was a fun time. "

Awesome, but that doesn't exactly help me, anyways. Yah..

"Oh deer Typhoon I'm laughing at the video-though its well for the Faust. o.O"

Gahh, I wish I could watch videos.

" Got a question for any of Binatica's opponents (preferably that got beat). If you used an attack that had a pretty good chance of working on her character, did you get a bitchfest at why it wouldn't work before she actually posted?"

Likely.

And I do believe I'm going to play StarCraft. so, TTYL. Ya.

Ahh, found it.

Nihilistic_Impact
Fenrir Fenix
The Charon transport's altimeter read almost exactly one thousand meters in the air. They were passing over an old operation point, but not in an act of violence. This time, they honestly had something to deliver.

Gamma was hunched over the remnants of a body. Torso shredded from hypervelocity projectiles, ribbons of black cloth from what was once a hoody clung to anonymous gore, which in turn still hung from the shattered bones of his ribs. Though the entire chest cavity was exposed, there could be no identification of any organs. Each and every one was damaged too badly to discern an origin. Mangled, the corpse was still in one piece, face undamaged. Two badly chipped and broken sheathes still hung faithfully in position, while blood soaked heavily into the black sweat pants worn on the legs.

He held the head up with one hand, by a handful of dreadlocks, with a knife in his right. Busy at work Gamma was carving something into the forehead, just above the still open and dead eyes. A shape, no; a letter.

User Image

Anyone with any sense of the Greek alphabet would easily recognize this as the third letter gamma. Carving something into dead skin was simple and the letter shown very well. This one had sought them out and paid with his life like so many others. They were simply doing him a service, an honor, even. Few corpses get a second glance once destroyed by a Gamma.

Gamma looked up to his compatriot near the door.

Nodding his head the entire construct echoed his motion. Beneath the helm he grinned with pride of the destruction his weapon had done to the fool. Only a pang of grief stuck him as he didn't get the chance to immolate the body with his primary weapon. Moving over to the body his free hands lifted the frail dead man.

Careful so as not to destroy the body he held it up as he verbally commanded the hatch to open. With a hiss the pressure seal was breached and the cargo room was open to the air. Grinning as the mono-lens looked down at the expanse of desert beneath them; spotted with a soul building he casually pushed the body of Robert Thomas. Letting it fall from a height of a thousand meters it landed with a sickening crush as the limbs crashed into each other and the internals collapsed, if any bodily fluids were still in the body they were draining.

Closing the hatch the Charon transport's cloaking kicked in. Concealing it from radar scans and most visual as well, tiny cameras dotting the surface matched the transport to the blue sky around it on the outer elector crystal layer. Turning to his partner Gammu looked at him as the transport sped off into the distance, "They came a calling and we delivered."

That video was pretty cool, Dizzy. I liked the one right under it, too. Dizzy rocks.

@Nihil: Yeah, as far as I recall, the power of the railgun isn't in pushing a projectile anywhere near the speed of light. It does get power from velocity, but his amount was ridiculous. It's all about the magnets, which also require a large power source (another reason why a portable version ain't exactly practical). But at the proper velocity it can still make a projectile the size of a pistol caliber bullet punch a hole the size of a battleship.. in a battleship. You could also ask him how in the world he's powering the thing, and how the super-heated magnets (another problem with the railgun) won't fry his face or body second after generating enough velocity (and therefore heat from energy) to make his beloved railgun fire as fast as he wants.

I lubs teh Gelgel more than I lubs me Seta. Binatica, aka teh Gelgel, isn't as bad as people make the Gelgel out to be. If there is a flaw in j00r logic, teh Gelgel will point it out and beat you bloody with it cause you likely deserve it.

Have a day.

Power I didn't touch so much upon since my own character has a portable hydrogen fuel cell for his or something like that. Never develled to much into it. I just know that if it's breach I get big nukey experiance.

So I dealt with recoil, which like it or not is still present in rail guns. They are not recoiless weapons as people like to pretend. And air friction that would just melt his weapon and probably combust the bullet before it could even reach Gammu.

Trei: That was the character name of the person we killed. A group of friends and I raided some commerce thread and A. Thomas came a hunting since he missed out on me torching his head off. So we shot him dead and dropped the body off at the spot we had originally raided.

Nihil: He's Arian Robert Thomas now. Heh.

Does that mean he's different?

Anyways, my character has yet to find out if Arian is human or not, so I'm not going full-out yet. Eventually I might have to...

Oh, and I realized today that my defense against speed-ers is as effective as it is against teleportation people. Awesome!

Anyways, if I ever have to fight Shadow (The Hedgehog) I already know exactly what I'm doing. Er, or I think I do. I also might have just forgotten it...

"Nihil, why is my name highlighted in that passage? *takes cover*"

/me shoots Robert Thomas.

Anyways, now I'm really off for StarCraft. Byes epopelesse.s.

People. Peoples. Somethingsomething.
