Protector of Dragons pd2care So, watching 1,000 Ways To Die on Spike TV, and found out that Houdini died of appendicitis, not in one of his tricks, like we've been led to believe. 2 days before the show he collapsed at, a guy went to him and challenged him to prove he was real. During that, the guy punched him in the stomach several times, causing his appendix to rupture. He died 2 days later of the blood infection.
Now how come we were all told he died trying to get out of that water trick? Better marketing. Nobody would want to, say, visit a hospital, but they would flock to see other magicians try and do the illusion (true magicians don't use the word "trick") that killed Houdini! Right? I'm talking more about history books than anything else. Those should, at the very least, be accurate. This is the first time I've heard that he died of sepsis, and not drowning. He never even made it into that tank of water. At the time, yeah, lie your butt off for mo' money. I can see that. After learning the truth, and writing about him, why keep perpetuating the lie? What does it serve?
Also, why does this bother me so much??? smile

All right, chickadees, I have something that will make at least one person very happy... :3
Make an offer on my eggs/hatchlings!
By sheer luck, I managed to breed a Silver Dragon!! I, however, have enough Silvers that I can be happy with for now. I want to offer THIS Silver Dragon egg to someone who doesn't all ready have a Silver on their scroll. I've set this up for a 2-way trade. I would like any color stripe except white, any of the newest batch of eggs, a summer seasonal egg, a nebula, a ridgewing, a pillow, a vampire egg, a daydream, or an ice/thunder/magma egg in return. Surprise me. :3 Just note that I will be checking your scroll to see if you have a Silver on there all ready. Otherwise... First Come, First Serve. ^_^

It has only been recently, remember, that there was, readily available, a way to compare and research various sources. We are so fortunate to have the Internet, the world at our fingertips! Oh, yeah. I'm "that" lady who told my kids, "when I was your age, to do a research paper, I had to spend hours and hours at the library in the research dept, because those books couldn't be checked out...." They just giggled, with the "I know, Mom" look on their faces.
Had 2 dreams this morning. First, I went to visit the pharmacist who supervised me on my externship at his new store (he's a manager now) and he gave me a job because I'm not working yet, and he loved my work ethic. Second, I marched into HR at Lodi Memorial and convinced him to give the the recently vacated job. So, Monday, I'm gonna go do both, and make at least ONE of those dreams come true.
